Satellite L500-12F - error creating Toshiba Recovery disk
Hello. New user on the forum and the new owner of a Toshiba.
I am trying to create the 4 recovery disc for my Toshiba satellite L500-12th. Disks 1, 2 & 4 created with success, but 3 disk failed twice. The message I received was on the screen: cannot read the following file: F:backslash ZZImg backslash 09753xsp6.swm error Code: 020150-20-00000000
(I can't type a backslash in this window of the computer)
Anyone know of a solution or a similar problem?
Dwight
Hi Dwight,.

I have a good experience with Verbatim DVD-R. Have you tried these discs?

Due to problems with my Softkeys, lighting and hibernation status (any help on thos would also be useful) I want to create a recovery DVDs with the Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator. The thing is: it starts when I have a CD in the DVD drive, but as soon as I put a DVD in (what is needed), it gives me an errormessage that said something like 'another application is using this drive or no disc recording where found in the laptop. 0D00E4-F0-00000000 error code).
My DVD player does not work properly, I can play movies and the drivers and the status is ok too.
I noticed, that error code changes, but I don't know how to get the recovery disk creator will. What can I do? Change something in the registry?
I don't know what happened on my laptop, I bought a few months ago - new. I guess that, reset everything would bring my softkeys, lighting and hibernation status back. So, if someone nows how to work at least one of the problems, please give me advice.

Hello
Did you create virtual CD/DVD drives with special software? If so, remove the software completely. In addition, if you have installed burning, programs, you should check if they will be started when Windows starts and if so, disable the beginning upward. So go to start > run > msconfig > start. Here, you can disable the start of burning software (for example Nero, CD Burner XP, etc.).
And what DVD are you using for burning? I have good experiences with DVD - R Verbatim and TDK discs. These are high-quality discs and you should try it too!
Last but not least, you need to remove the upper and lower registry filters. It is always advisable to the problems of the CD/DVD drive:
(1) run Regedit (start-> Run-> Regedit)
2) go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
(3) in the right pane, delete the "UpperFilters" key and delete the key "LowerFilters".
(4) restart.Depending on your problem with the keys to enlightenment that you should try to reinstall the Toshiba value added Package. This determines the buttons of enlightenment, FN keys and other special functions on your laptop. I had a similar problem with my Qosmio F50 illumination buttons and I posted something on this subject in the Qosmio forum that you should try it too!

Re: Satellite L355D - how to create a recovery disk?
I searched all over the forums, but does not know how to create a recovery disk works for my laptop. I know it is run from a partition on the HARD drive, but I can't figure out how to access this partition. Should there be some sort of built-in utility?
Thank you
You can create the recovery only DVD disc if your laptop computer has preinstalled Toshiba recovery disc creator and factory settings.
Please check if you can find this tool under start > all programs > Toshiba. There you should find shortcuts to launch this utility.

Satellite L - how to create a recovery disk?
Hey,.
I accidentally uninstalled the program "Recovery Disc Creator". But the folder with Win Vista Recovery disc information are still in my computer. Now, I want you help me in creating a recovery disk. My system is very unstable. So I want to re install. I hope you can help me.
Sorry, but why did you uninstall the recovery disk creator?
However, now you can not create the recovery disk because you have uninstalled the program to create the disc.
The only way I know is you use HARD drive recovery option to reinstall your laptop. You can use it if you go to the advanced boot menu (F8 before Windows starts), choose repair my computer, and then select the Toshiba HDD Recovery feature.
Normally you get this message if you start your laptop on first use:

Question about creating Toshiba recovery disks
Hello
I wanted to know if I create recovery discs, it will have my drivers wireless, video and sound on it, or I have to download again on the Toshiba site.

If I get a windows 8 CD and install on my computer would be my work of drivers audio, video and wireless, or I have to reinstall again?
Hello Jane
When you create the recovery disc, saved on your laptop recovery image will be copied to the disk. This recovery image contains the operating system, all the drivers necessary, Toshiba specific tools and utilities, and also some additional software.
Windows 8.
Please, let us know what model of laptop you have exactly and what you want to do exactly. WIN8 update maybe? -

Satellite C650 - failed to create the recovery disk - error 020150-20-00000000 code
I hope this is the right place to post this, but I think I have the same problem with my Satellite C650. He keeps wasting DVDs by stopping and saying that it cannot read the file E:\ZZlmg\11544XSP.swm and gives an error code 020150-20-00000000. The file is located on the DVD. I use Verbatim DVD - R The Recovery Media Creator is trying to write the first disc and is at the point of check data. Can you think of another explanation for this error other than the cheap DVD option? Thank you
Hello
There are two explanations;
Either the CD/DVD drive firmware is not up to date and contains no information about the drives used discs (CD or DVD) is not fully compatible.
As you know this is happening and is not uncommon. So first check if a firmware update is available for your CD/DVD drive.
The European driver of Toshiba page is the right place to look for that.
More details you will find in detail if the firmware has been published for your ODD.If there is no update firmware of your CD/DVD drive, then you should test other discs

Satellite Pro A300: How to create the recovery disk
Hello
I just bought a Satellite Pro A300 with Windows XP.
I want to know how I can or if I need to create a recovery disk that will reset the machine to its original state.
The information gives instuctions on how to proceed for the Vista machines, but not for XP.I know that I can recover from the hidden partition, but where this is not possible, I wish I could get CD or DVD.
There is a recovery CD included product that says only: "MS Windows XP" so I guess that it does not include drivers or Toshiba Software?Any help appreciated,
Thank you
MickHello
You have preinstalled software Toshiba TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator?
Please check this box.
Using the TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator you can create the recovery disk. But if your laptop was already pre-installed with Windows XP and then a Recovery CD or DVD must be included.
Have you checked all of the items in the box?

Screen flickers on Satellite L300 and I am unable to create a recovery disk
Hi all
I just bought a model L300 PSLB0C 08R08C number.
I was unable to create a recovery disk, I was getting an error message saying it cannot create disk because it is scratched or has dirt on it, I lost 5 nine DVD.I am went to the store and replaced by another unit, but had the same problem (I have not tried a different brand of DVD well)
Second issue with this device, the screen flashes once whenever it is in a shutdown state.
Number 3, the wireless card disappears from the Device Manager, until I restart.
Laptop made in China ;-)Any suggestions are much apprecaited
Hello
It is indeed strange that you were unable to create a recovery disk, and that the problem has resurfaced, even after permutation of the laptop with another unit of the store. However, if you have not tried a different brand of DVD so I suggest that if the laptop asks the disc is scratched or has dirt on it. I'm not sure if toshiba factory in fact blank DVDs, but if they do, it would be a starting point, as one would expect hardware toshiba would happily work with their own brand DVD media. However, if you can't find toshiba dvd then use another trust mark, for example, Imation and TDK. with my experience, I have tried many brands of DVD and have found very reliable TDK.
regarding the second question, this may be related to the graphics card in the system, or could be due to the performance of the computer laptop itself. Check that you have the latest driver for your graphics card and all the settings on the computer are optimized / hard drives are defragmented and deleted unnecessary files. with your third question, this question could also be related to driver problems, check your regional drivers toshiba site for the latest drivers again. failing this, I would back up your data and then restore to a factory condition, then install the drivers immediately. I hope this info can help you somehow.
Welcome to the forums and please leave helpful points or correct answer for any useful advice that has been given in response to your problems (e.g. to read the forum rules)

Satellite P500 - loop of reboot after using the Toshiba Recovery disk
Hello
I have a problem recovery SATELLITE P500. I did the recovery disks. It starts ok on the recovery disk and format the hard drive and copy the disks to the hard drive. Then, he begins installing windows and restarts.
He then goes to a loop
(1) marketing and says "Setup is preparing your computer for first use.
(2) Toshiba banner saying please wait... Second installation may take several minutes. Pleae do not interrupt or shut down the computer!
(3) Windows logo
(4) close...
(5) restarts and goes to 1)It would be great if someone could help me with this.
Thank you very much
SoftariHello
I noticed the same thing on my Satellite P500, but I must say it s not a problem, it of quite normal. The computer will restart several times (10 times or more) to complete the installation.
You know that a lot of drivers/tools will be installed and some restart is required to configure everything properly.
So don t interrupt the installation of recovery, just wait a little longer and a coffee. Everything is done automatically and your laptop is reinstalled with the factory settings. :)

Re: Satellite A300-1MO - can I use any Toshiba Recovery disk?
I have an A300-1 MB.
Can I use any Toshiba Recovery disk?
Or is it as a specific for my A300-1 MB?I'm like a total noob...
Someone pls help...!No, you cannot use any recovery disk, you must use the recovery disc designed for this model of laptop.
The point is that recovery disk contains an image. The image is a package that contains the OS and Toshiba drivers
If you want to use another recovery disc then the image would be installed with no compatible drivers and this could lead to other problemsEvery new notebook from Toshiba offers a Toshiba Recovery disk creator tool. This tool can create a recovery disk
