Satellite L500 - could not find the SRS audio device

At the start of my Satellite L500, a message appears saying - could not find the device audio compatible srs. This has happened when I upgraded to windows 7.

Can someone tell how to fix this?

Hello

I have the Satellite L500 also but I couldn't t notice this problem. SRS audio device that has something to do with the audio driver, I think.

What do you think to update this driver? You can get it here:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

Before installing the latest version I recommend you remove the old first. Do a restart and install the most recent.

  • Satellite L500 - can not find the drivers for the keys FN for Windows XP!

    Hello.

I found and installed all the drivers I need for this laptop using Windows XP. My problem is that I can only activate wireless on this laptop in pushin' FN + F8 key, I installed the Realtek Wireless drivers and they are installed correctly, but I can't get wireless to work because of the FN keys. When I press the FN + F8 key, a blue led should light up next to the volume control, but it is not...

I searched the Hotkey Utility on Toshiba India site, I downloaded and tried, but I get the error 'this utility program does not support this system', the common Modules gives me the same error too.

I tried to install the other Hotkey Utility driver for another laptop and it does not give me this error, but it does not work either... I actually let my laptop freeze a second, every 5 seconds... and the FN keys still don't work.

Anyone know where I can find a Hotkey Utility work for my laptop XP?

Or maybe is there a way to activate wireless without the FN keys? I don't need the other keys... I want just a way to activate wireless.

    Thanks for your time

  • System could not find the environment option that was entered.

The Trend Micro Client caused a bit of stir in my computer.

He gave me the UiSeAgnt.exe error and I couldn't open any .exe files. I uninstalled Trend Micro and that pop up more rises. But the "System could not find the environment option/variable is entered" is yet to come when I try to run the .exe. This means that same cmd cannot be opened. I can not connect to the Internet independently wireless or wired. Audio system is not even the sense system speakers or external audio devices.

I tried the system restore, did not work. I tried SFC/scannow, did not work. Now my current idea is to back up my files and blow the computer on with a clean restore. What should I do? I use a Vaio E series 14 p, btw.

If it really comes down to it, how much memory should I backup everything?

    Hi Vey,

Thanks for posting your query in the Microsoft community.

Your system is connected to a domain network?

This problem occurs in situations where Shutdown.exe cannot access the UserDomain environment variable. The task of the judgment which is on demand by using the at command runs under the system account. When the task is run under the System account, the UserDomain environment variable are not accessible because it does not exist. But the problem occurs mainly on the areas of server.

I would suggest trying the following steps and check if these help to resolve the issue.

    1. start your system in safe mode.

    2. press on the Windows key + R.

    3. type sysdm.cpl , and then click OK.

    4. click on the "Advanced" tab

    5. in "Startup and recovery", click "Environment Variables".

    6. under "System Variables", click 'new '.

    7. for "Variable name", type in windir%

    8. for 'Value of the Variable', type in C:\Windows

    9. click OK on the all the dialog boxes that pop up.

    10. restart your system in normal mode.

If, however, your system is connected to the normal mode, please see the following support article.

Computer does not and you receive an error "System cannot find the environment Option that was entered" when you schedule a task of closing using the AT command

  • Impossible to install XP SP3 (could not find the file specified)

I looked at and followed the steps described in

Article ID: 950717 - steps to take before you install Windows XP Service Pack 3

    I do not have

    • Microsoft Shared Computer Toolkit
    • Pack MUI Remote Desktop Connection (RDP) 6.0 (update 925877 for Windows XP)

I tried to install SP3 with and without my Antivirus, Antispyware and firewall running programs (several times – 4, 5, or more).  Each time, I get an error staing "could not find the specified file."  Then after being told that SP3 can not be installed and that "Windows XP has been partially updated and may not work properly", I have to restart my system.

I also followed all the steps in this article (Article ID: 950718 - how to troubleshoot an installation fails in Windows XP Service Pack 3) and still the same thing as above.

I tried to download SP3 directly from the Download Center - same results as before.

I started the BITS service and tried again - same results as above.

I've disabled auto updates and removed to software distribution (download renamed folder as shown) - same results as shown above.

I tried to restore my system to an earlier date - 4 these attempts using different dates and set points during the last wee - ALL have failed.

I also tried the proposals 1 to 3 in this article (Article ID: 950249-how to remove Windows XP Service Pack 3 from your computer), and none of these steps worked.

I spent over 8 hours today and yesterday a couple just trying to solve this problem and still don't get anywhere.  I am beyond frustrated at this point.  I know that say Windows can not work properly, and I need my computer to do my job.  Any help would be appreciated.

You could do a repair installation with a CD of Windows XP with SP3 integrated already.  However, unless this is a new installation that you have installed SP2 on so you could get then SP3 installed on it - you have obviously been broadcast for some time without a lot of fixed security and tastes and your system could very well be stripped because of this.

    Search for malware:

Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:

Remove anything they find.  Reboot when necessary.  (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)

Search online with eSet Online Scanner.

The less you have to run all the time, most things you want to run will perform:

Use Autoruns to understand this all starts when your computer's / when you log in.  Look for whatever it is you do not know using Google (or ask here.)  You can hopefully figure out if there are things from when your computer does (or connect) you don't not need and then configure them (through their own built-in mechanisms is the preferred method) so they do not - start using your resources without reason.

You can download and use Process Explorer to see exactly what is taking your time processor/CPU and memory.  This can help you to identify applications that you might want to consider alternatives for and get rid of all together.

Do a house cleaning and the dust of this hard drive:

You can free up disk space (will also help get rid of the things that you do not use) through the following steps:

You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
    2. click on the System Restore tab.
    3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button "settings".
4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow... I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that...)
    5. click on OK. Then click OK again.

You can control the amount of space used may or may not temporary Internet files...

Empty the temporary Internet files and reduce the size, that it stores a size between 64 MB and 128 MB...

-Open a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    -Select TOOLS - Internet Options.
-On the general tab in the section 'Temporary Internet files', follow these steps:
-Click on 'Delete the Cookies' (click OK)
-Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
-Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
-Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.

You can use an application that scans your system for the log files and temporary files and use it to get rid of those who:

    Zitouni,

Thanks for your reply, good point on the File Checker, I didn't know that. Unforuneatly I have not see your reply until I decided it was time to re - install the system. One thing to note, I couldn't do a 'run as administrator' anyway possible. This system was really corrupt which leads me to believe that he may have been a NTFS/Fat 32 Co-mingling question. Just a guess, but I really don't see how it could have happened otherwise.

Another thing to note, if you have a Dell Inspiron 1720 with a 250Gig HD-make sure that you format the partition, you then load the SATA drivers! Also, make sure that the restore partition does not primary. Make sure that you format (assuming that you have backed up your data before!). Otherwise, it hangs on Setup to complete the installation. Who took me ahwhile to understand.

Everything is cool now (reinstalled Vista), just thank ful there is a site like this to run things by! ;)
