Satellite L500 starts, allows me to connect, and then the screen goes black

I just bought a new Toshiba Satellite L500.

As I am a student in high school, it was a huge and very expensive purchase for me.
I previously had a Toshiba that served me extremely well, so I was ready to buy a new one, but now I have a problem with it.
I have a L5000 with operating system Windows 7 Professional.

Notepad starts end, showing the Welcome screen and allowing me to enter my password, but once the password is accepted, and disappears from the Welcome screen, I find myself with a black screen showing only my mouse pointer.

If I enter CTRL + ALT + DELETE, the Task Manager becomes visible, but I don't see nothing else UNLESS I select 'explorer' under the processes tab and end process, then re-run the Explorer - then only the home screen becomes visible.

It's a new laptop - Needless to say I don't want to have to do this every time I turn it on. I should try to restore factory default?
I'm usually very proficient with computers, but I don't have enough faith to tinker with it.

Can anyone help?

Hi Korosuhito,
It sounds like an infection or a misconfiguration.

You can try to start in safe mode and search for services that run maybe you can find the "bad guy".

or (the fastest) is to restore the factory settings
Make sure the bios is on the 'default' as well

I think that you have no personal data on this machine in order to recovery is the most simple and quick way!

If the error after recovery occours made back to your dealer and get another

  • Once I turn on my dell inspiron laptop 1545 dell logo appears and then the screen goes black

Let me start by saying: I had similar problems before, but none of the usual works.  The other day, these two Windows Update kept popping up and wouldn't go away so I clicked finally allow.  Then the next day that I was on the internet and my computer froze, I tried to turn it off and it wouldn't if I pressed the power button until it did.  Then when I turned it back after the dell logo appeared all that I had a black screen with a cursor in the upper left.  I ran diagnostics and startup repair and nothing.  I tried to do the restore of the system once in couple with different points and nothing, I still get the black screen after dell logo.  Is there another way outside the reinstallation of the operating system, to fix (because I really don't want to lose everything I have on my computer - and no I don't save it anywhere)?

You can reinstall the OS without formatting the drive, all of your data in a folder named windows.old. You will need the Dell Windows Vista disc however.

    Follow my guide here: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/software-os/w/microsoft_os/1434.aspx
Start with step 3. (require reinstalling Dell DVD). Skip step 5 continue on step 6 to step 7. Install Service Pack 1 and Service Pack 2 (autonomous probably 32-bit) and stand-alone Internet Explorer 9. You must download these in step 4 with the system drivers as described (probably, use another computer and use a USB drive). Install the drivers as mentioned system. Activation should be useless since you use the Dell DVD in a BIOs Dell. At the stage. 12 use the automated to retrieve documents from Windows.old. Make sure you have everything and then delete windows.old.
  • Startup problem: first black-wallpaper appears with the logo, and then the screen goes to the Microsoft screen with green moving bar "Please wait".

My computer is having problems loading the main office. I start it up, the first black-wallpaper with the logo is displayed, then the screen goes to the Microsoft screen with the green bar of movement. After that, the Windows logo appears and makes the sound. A new screen will appear with a "start-up Fund" and he said: "Please wait...". "This form of lasting about 5 to 8 minutes, then the text disappears, with only the bottom upward. I left it sitting there on the blank screen for about 20 minutes, and still nothing changes. I tried Ctrl + Alt + Delete, and shows nothing. Finally restart manually, but the same problem occurs. The only way that this works is in Mode safe mode with networking (which is currently used). I also tried the system restore, but this does not work because by default it must go through the same problematic steps, as mentioned previously.

    Hi ninja_panda13,

-Remember to make changes to your computer after that this problem started to happen?

As you are able to boot mode safe mode with networking, put your computer in a clean boot state in order to verify if any third-party application is causing this problem.

Put your boot system helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.

    Hello

I have a Satellite P100 and randomly, the screen goes black but the system continues to operate. I downloaded the latest drivers from toshiba, all power options the maximum support, run ccleaner and driver Sweeper to remove the old entries driver, re-installed the login screen of the mobo and nothing seems to work.

The screen goes black sometimes when using windows but STILL turns black as soon as the ramps of gpu for example of playing a video or comparative analysis of the graphics card.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Chipset: Intel i945PM
    HARD drive: Fujitsu 148GB

    Hey,.

    > ALWAYS goes black as soon as the ramps of gpu for example of playing a video or comparative analysis of the graphics card.
This means that the graphics card is defective

Theoretically, it could be an overheating problem too. Higher time can also cause a black screen. You should try everything that is possible to clean your laptop using the jet of compressed air to blow the dust from the cooling fans.

If it doesn t help it seems to be a hardware malfunction but seriously a point would be interesting: have you noticed the same thing with preinstalled OS (Vista) Toshiba?

  • Satellite L405D-11V - freezes and the screen goes black when you watch the video

OK, so I have the Toshiba Satellite L405D-11V, I had a breakdown, basically, the computer freezes at any time and the screen would go black, with the fan and lights still ongoing, this could be at the start, or a few hours using the laptop, so I decided to ring Toshiba technology support and they arranged for my laptop to collect and be expelled for repairs.

I was able to track repairs online via the tracking service and was able to see what they were doing to my laptop, he said that they have ordered a part, it was underway and the repairs are completed.

However, I got the laptop back today, I turn it on, all right, I start using the cell phone that everything is fine, so I decide to watch a video on youtube, and it freezes again, so I turned off now pressed the power button, hoping he wasn't that a large, I turn back to and load the video once again it freezes and the screen goes black again, after that whenever I am watching a video or a game, it causes the computer to crash and freeze as before the repairs. So there is always a mistake, but I'm not sure what to do

Its still under warranty, I bought the laptop from the Comet, but I really don't want to send the laptop for repairs again and find it comes back with the same fault, is it interesting sending distributed, maybe see if the comet will replace the laptop as its still less than a year to buy the laptop, or it'll just be useful to save all the hassle and buy a new laptop? If this fault happened to someone else, I could use you some help, and if someone could shed some light regarding what could be bad?

    Thank you

    Hey Buddy,

You changed something on the configuration after you got your notebook back from repair? You update a driver, or something else?
What operating system you use on your L405D satellite?

To be honest it is really hard to say why it happens because technicians test to check if your laptop is running correctly.

In my opinion you should try to update the display driver. Maybe it's the origin of the problem of s
If this isn't the case, I recommend installing Windows from Toshiba Recovery disk to restore to factory settings. These parameters are pre-tested by Toshiba and should work.

If you still have the problem, you must contact the technicians again. I mean you could track the online repair and according to your assignment, everything worked well during repair, so in my opinion he should t be a problem to contact guys exactly.
Explain your very detailed problem. I think that everything can be clarified then. :)

    Hello.

Whenever we start to use our computer, the screen goes black and the message 'Auto adjust is in Prgress'. Then, all of our screen is small and all the icons and pages are smaller than before.

I tried restoring the system that works and that gets our screen back to normal but every day that this Auto setting is coming and we can't seem to stop it.

    Try this:

Go to the Web site of the manufacturer of your laptop computer-graphics/computer card > drivers and downloads Section > key in your model number > look for the latest Vista drivers > download/install them.

    Then:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-AU/Windows-Vista/change-screen-resolution

    Change the screen resolution

Screen resolution refers to the clarity of the text and images on your screen. At higher resolutions, items appear sharper. They appear also smaller, so more items adapted to the screen. At lower resolutions, fewer items adapted to the screen, but they are larger and easier to see. At very low resolutions, however, images may have serrated edges.

  • Windows will start, the screen starts flashing and then the screen say Logging Off, then restore the screen to the CTRL ALT DEL all other functions will not work.

Start my computer, it will default to the CTRL ALT DEL screen.  After graduating in the login screen I enter the password.  Windows will start and then the screen starts flashing and the screen say Logging Off, then restore the screen to the CTRL ALT DEL I can boot into safe mode.  All other functions will not work.

    Thank you

I guess you wanted to ask how to solve the problem. If then all in Safe Mode you can use system restore to set up Windows to a point when the problem did not exist.

  • Ad Hoc network. even if the network is active and is connected to the internet my devices cannot connect and then the network shuts down.

I'm living in a college dorm and only have access to the internet via a hard line to my computer. So I wanted to give my other accessibility of consumer electronics set up an Ad-Hoc network and share the internet connection. When I originally set up the network it works fine, but after the devices go to sleep or I leave the room it stops working. I had problems to keep the internet connection to share continually, which I fixed it. I then had a DHCP problem with the hard line that has been resolved through troubleshooting function. Now, even if the network is active and is connected to the internet my devices cannot connect and then the network shuts down.

Is there a way to create an Ad Hoc network that works similar to a wireless router, so when my computer is turned, it works automatically? If so, how can I make this happen without these problems?

    Hello

I suggest to activate temporarily the antivirus as well as windows firewall and check if it helps.

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Disable the anti-virus software

    Enable or disable Windows Firewall

This morning, I turned on my U920T-10 days but the screen remained black.

At first, I thought the screen was broken, but in mode 'Tablet', the screen became. Now when I slide the keyboard the screen goes black again.

How can this problem be solved?

    Hello

For me, it looks like a bad connection somewhere between the screen and the motherboard.
This could be possible reason for failure to display while sliding in and out.

I guess this can be resolved easily and I think that it is a job for a technician (authorized service provider). I recommend you contact the service technician in your country to get the laptop fixed. I hope that the warranty is still valid in order to repair for free.

I hope that this can be corrected. I keep fingers crossed.
