Satellite L500D-163 - Wireless does not
Laptop: Toshiba Satellite L500D-163 (with card wireless 802.11 b/g/n)
Router: Pirelli Discus (having support 802.11 b/g).
I bought a portable Toshiba, Satellite L500D-163, two days ago.
Windows 7 and Ubuntu Linux 10.04, the Wireless does not work. It shows all the available wireless network neighborhood, including mine, but it connects to my network.
I also have an Acer laptop that connects to my network wireless without problem.
I placed the Toshiba laptop side by side with my Acer laptop and tried all the options:
802 11b, 802.11 g - WEP, WPA, WPA2
with simple passwords of the style: "00000000".
and SSID wireless to the router changed something as simple as "abcde".
Computer Acer laptop connected without problem in all cases, but Toshiba didn't connect.
In Windows 7, the connection information appears as connected but 'Limited' and the software Toshiba says that the laptop is not getting an IP address.
I manually entered the IP address (192.168.1.2), subnet mask (255.255.255.0) and the default gateway (192.168.1.1 router =) below the configuration in Windows 7 wireless card, but it did not work.
The laptop must support Toshiba, or y at - it an incompatibility with my router?
Great! Thanks for that!
just got a Satellite Pro L40-15 1 week ago and it's been downhill.
The Wireless does not work (and yes the switch is activated and drivers installed). Sometimes windows recognizes no device when I boot.
And when I stopped he said blocking down, but crashes just on this screen.
Now, I'm an advanced user, so I've tried many things. Can anyone help?
As a first step, I would recommend to use the Toshiba Recovery CD and renew the operating system.
Then update the Vista of the State. I mean to install patches and fixes Vista all published.
Check this thread:
Here you can see that a missing patches can have a bad influence on the wireless network card and the entire operating system!
After that restore disks for installing a new HD and use and to update XP sp2, the Wireless does not work and if the card is installed XP hangs then works in fits and starts. If the card not in place, not bad at all.
Booting from a Linux CD, the card works perfectly! I assume that the driver is the problem. The wireless card is the original, an Agere MPC13A-20/R, with Toshiba p/n PA317U-1MPC.
I have found some drivers Agere, but am not sure
(1) if they are correct
(2) how to install since the machine works in a way limited with the card in place.
I checked the page of the pilot and the only available for Windows XP WLan driver is the driver of v.1.11.108 Agere.
(1) just try to install this driver. If the driver is not correct or is not compatible, then windows will not install the driver and you will receive a notification. You just have to try
(2) generally you may reinstall the driver from the Device Manager. Open network controller tree, and then you can reinstall the driver.
But this is only possible if the windows started successfully
PS: Have you checked the information of Microsoft Windows XP SP2 update on the page of the Toshiba driver.
I discovered that you need to update several utilities if you have installed SP2 on this laptop.
I have a Satellite L40 without BONES, I bought and I installed a XP/SP3. I have a small problem when I connect to my wireless NET. It does not connect until I open the Task Manager and remove one of the two svchost process open with the name 'network service '.
Someone has an idea of why this never happens and how to fix it (I can opperate thereafter, but is a little annoying to have to do each time).
Tried to reinstall the wlan drivers and utilities already? When you do so, you should check the download pages of Toshiba for the latest version of the driver.
Is the WinXP installation you have performed, had integrated SP3 or SP2? Because I would like to know if wlan worked with SP2.
New to the forum, I had to sign up because of a problem with shame. I would like to apologize in advance because I know nothing about how computers work.
I have a toshiba satellite c660-108, windows 7 OS. Yesterday I was updating it and I used it very well after that I restarted. He stops and went to bed. Today, I turned on and he did a system restore, don't know why. So all went through and then it wouldn't connect to the internet wireless, only ethernet cable (http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=69127&tstart=0 - same problem as far as I can tell).
I'm in the middle of my diploma thesis and word does not work now, so I did a full factory restore hoping everything would be ok. This isn't.
Ive tried to download the driver toshiba wireless, just didn't work. It currently downloads Realtek but I'm sure it won't work either.
How to get another wireless network card?
Any help would be appreciated.
The essential is that you it works again.
So congratulations. :)
I bought Toshiba Satellite T110-121, with Windows 7 Home Premium.
1. after going into Sleep Mode, when he wakes up, my WIFI does not work, unless I'm in wireless network card setting, Advanced tab, then I change the Tx to say 100% to 75% power level, then the WLAN will work.
2. I tried to adjust the setting for power management on the network card for maximum performance and does not disable during sleep and also in the Bios but nothing is
3. I use Realtek 8191SE drivers have been updated (wireless card, Ethernet, Bios)
As much I know Tx power level option must be set to Auto.
Have you noticed the same behavior with Auto option?
I have a new L500D but my touchpad does not work.
My diagnosis of computer told me that there is no problem, I have a mini mouse USB connected, would that be causing a conflict?
Can someone please give me some advice.
Try to press Fn + F9 to toggle the Touchpad. Also take a look in the BIOS, the touchpad can be disabled it. Also try to uninstall the software for your mouse USB mouse (if you have installed everything), this software can cause a conflict.
I recently put the recovery disk in my Satellite L500D - 16 M laptop to factory settings.
It restarts without problem until it gets to the windows page 7 and prepare to start first use but it keeps looping back and restart.
What can I do?
AFAIK you can't do much.
Try again and let us know if the same problem occurs again.
my dvd driver does not work it says driver may be corrupted or missing (code 39) I got it 3 days new
tactile function of my touchpad (to emulate left-clik by tapping the touchpad) not working anymore. I can move the mouse with the pad.
Also under the pad left button does not work - the right is.
I have already tried:
-Update the driver
-Fn + F9
-The parameters of the touchpad - the 'touch' function is enabled
-The material Toshiba - successful test
but without success.
You don't know whether a software issue or a hardware one.
I thank you,
As far as I know the option is called tap to click
You should check if it is enabled in the settings of the touchpad.
> Also the under pad left button does not work - the right is.
Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that the left click by tape does not work
It is difficult to say what might cause this
As I have said; options have to be checked once more in Control Panel-> mouse-> device-> settings (or properties) settings
If all the settings would be ok, then a touchpad hardware problem would be possible
Hello can someone help me?
I have Toshiba Satellite C855 1HU. I just upgrade to Windows 8 and now I have no internet Wi - Fi.

You laptop was equipped with card Realtek Wlan RTL8723AE
I assume that you have installed the wrong driver Wlan.
Check and try to install the Realtek Wlan driver released for the Win 7 system
I recently bought this Toshiba Satellite L300-190 (PSLB8E-014008N5) of the machine.
First of all, I tried to install Ubuntu 7.x, but which failed due to a problem of graphics card. So I try the new version of Ubuntu 8.10, everything works fine, except wireless. There is no detection wireless in there.
I tried through the Ubuntu forum, but still no luck. Please help me if you can provide me with a good driver or can guide me as well.
I await your response.
Great news. Thanks for the link.
I have a L500D (I got it for about 2 months now) and yesterday I realized that my webcam did not work properly even if it worked just fine a couple of days.
Here's the problem: when I turn it on (via Skype or through application of camera web toshiba), the colors are reversed: it's exactly like I had added an effect on the image as 'Posterize' or 'threshold '. Everything is bright, grainy, saturated...
I tried in low light and high, and the night mode is not on.
I couldn't solve the problem with the webcam settings, but regardless, I, can not do anywhere near a normal image.
I spent a lot of time surfing the web but couldn't find a solution (or someone with a similar problem, in fact). I have windows 7 64 bit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I run my laptop with a lot of care, which makes even more beat when something goes wrong... Thanks in advance!
Didn t find such a problem described discussions, it seems that you are the first person who has reported this
Have you tried to reinstall the webcam software?
First remove the software of webcam and then after new reboot, install the new downloaded webcam software.
PS; have you removed the thin sheet secure the lens of the webcam?
Got a Satellite Pro A200 2 weeks and the wireless worked well.
Then after a week there was a problem, try to connect. I was able to reboot the pc and he was able to connect.
Now it just doesn't quite work.
I can connect through the LAN and I have another laptop that connects to the router with no problems.
I checked in the Device Manager, the wireless card works correctly and I've updated the drivers for it but no. - GB.
Any help would be great.
see you soon
Try to remove the network adapter from Device Manager wireless.
Then restart the computer and reinstall newest WLan driver that you can download on the page of the Toshiba driver!
Second, you could try to set up the WiFi network using an Intel ProSet Utility (but only if you have a Wlan Intel card.)
If you have an Atheros Wlan card, then try using the Atheros Client utility for configuring Wlan
My built-in wireless does not work on my laptop. I called the customer service line, his fees to fix the problem but to no avail. Now, I have to use the wireless adapter to use internet which is not the way I wanted to. Can someone help me please how to do my job with built-in wireless?
