+ Win 8 - unexpected Kernel Mode trap (nvlddmkm.sys) +.
I tried to update the NVIDIA driver, but it will not update. All Windows updates are current as of yesterday. It seems more crash when trying to access file Explorer.
This machine is 2 months old.
I could really use some suggestions or solutions!
I have restored the machine to factory settings and still no problem crashing.
Thanks in advance...

+ Win 8 - unexpected Kernel Mode trap (nvlddmkm.sys) +.
The nvlddmkm.sys belongs to the nVidia driver that's why I recommend to uninstall this driver first.
After the new reboot, you should clean the system using tools such as for example: CCLeaner
Also look for a "Minidump" folder in the disk Local (c) / Windows and remove this "Minidump" folder located in "(c) / Windows.
After rebooting again to check the functionality of the laptop and install the nVidia Driver has published on the page of Toshiba
I just bought a new laptop Toshiba Satellite L50T-A196 and it worked very well and the great until recently.
I tried to reformat my computer because it got crashed.
I was able to reformat my computer very well in previous years.
So far, I've reformatted my laptop more than 5 times, but that it was like 1 year ago and now I really don't know how I got into the BIOS menu.
I tried pressing F1 to F12, holding them and also repeatedly pressing it.
Also tried pressing F2 and F12 or ESC + F12 F2 before even looking at computer and then turn it also I tried pressing 0 too and also ESC and the ~ button.
Nothing seems to work.
So my question is how to enter the bios?
I used to be able to get, but now I don't know what happened
You need to perform a full stop down.
Here's a HowTo:
[Perform a complete shutdown in Windows 8 | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2B03EY0002R01.htm]
The fact is that Win 8 keeps the laptop but the unit carries out hybrid stop start up more quickly. Unit should be stopped in order to access the BIOS.
After the unit is OFF, turn on again and press F2.
Now you should be able to access the BIOS
I got my Toshiba Satellite L50T-A-11 t with Windows 8, the first few days, I got it so I installed Windows 8.1 of the 'market', but my computer sometimes does strange thing as "reboot of the desktop", all icons disappear, the taskbar disappears after 1 sec everything back but the movement of the icons. It is very annoying.
So I searched for drivers on the web page and I see that win8.1 and win8.1 upgrade to 8.1 and upgrade there is a list of the order to install the drivers.
So my question is if I want to reinstall to fix the problem what I do back to win 8 and update as said?
And 8.1 of Windows upgrade is called an upgrade to 8.1 or drivers for improving win8?
Thanks in advance.
All about Win8.1 update, you can read on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/generic/windows8_1-message/
In my opinion, you need to reinstall the original image of Win8 and then do Win8.1 update again according to instructions on page of Toshiba that I post above.
I have a problem with my laptop (satellite c660-A047) Bluetooth does not work on windows (7 and 8), but it works very well under Linux (Ubuntu, Fedora, Backtrack).
I have an outgoing method :) to do run on windows, start Linux Live then set the Bluetooth adapter to the off State, and then reboot (do not stop, restart only), and then start windows this time this Bluetooth adapter works great and updated automatically in the Device Manager.
To use Bluetooth on windows I have to do the same steps: (.)
If someone wants to know all the details to help me solve these curious case, I will be grateful.
Thanks, looking forward to hearing from you soon.
The laptop supports Wlan Atheros / module combo BT.
This means that a single module shares WiFi and BT connectivity.
Using Win 7 you must add the additional drivers called filter for driver Atheros BT package.
So first the Atheros WLan driver must be installed, secondly Atheros BT filter after battery Toshiba BT.
To help to win 8, you must install two components of driver manually to enable the Bluetooth feature: System Toshiba + Atheros Bluetooth driver driver filter

I bought by Satellite L50t-1605, which has 5500 i7, gtx 950 m dedicated 4 GB...
but from the first day, it has offset in each game I play (GTA 5, ETS2, FIFA14, line PES16 battlefield hard etc...) I updated my drivers so as there is no change... Help, please...
[/ Quote] dude I have the same laptop and it's having a * cooling so if you have a program the temp display, you will see that you will get rich 105 temp of some lag for about 3-5 seconds and will happen a lot when playing most of the games so we must do the maximum of 75-95% CPU usage
My Satellite L50T-A-196 stop only after overheating, especially when you play (for example, civilization 5 or Football manager 2014). This occurs during the use of the normal laptop.
I'm not blocking the fans; in fact, I always lift the laptop in order to ensure that they are not blocked.
What I ve realized that I also installed NVIDIA and Intel graphics cards, and I can't make the NVIDIA one by default. I don't know if this is related to the issue or not m.
Any help would be appreciated.
> What I ve realized that I also installed NVIDIA and Intel graphics cards, and I can't make the NVIDIA the default
It's very easy.
Right click on the desktop and select Nvidia Control Panel
In Nvidia Control Panel on the left choose 3D-> set PhysX configuration settings
Now in the main window, select a PhysX processor you can choose between Nvidia Gforce, Intel GPU (part of the CPU) or Auto Select.
In case you want to use only nVidia GPU, choose Nvidia Gforce
In case you want to use only Intel GPU, choose CPU
Apply the settings
Then click on manage 3D settings and here in the main window, you will see two tabs: global settings and the settings of the program.
In the global settings tab, you can choose the favorite graphics processor.
In the program settings tab, you can choose the GPU for a single application. For example, you can choose the GPU to be used while playing a special match.
Hope this helps to choose the right GPU and to avoid overheating.
I think of the upgrade of the screen on my Satellite L50t-A-145 a factory (1366 x 768) for a full HD (1920 x 1080) one. All people of material, I spoke so far were pretty negative, but what they said seems to me just a case of replacing the LVDS cable (standard will not support 1080 p, which, if true, leaves me speechless around) then replace the current screen by a 1080 p with appropriate physical characteristics (correct size screw fixing positions (, the position of the connector, etc.). Anyone has experience to do or have relevant knowledge to share? It is my first attempt to upgrade a laptop screen, so any help welcome.I think of the upgrade of the screen on my Satellite L50t-A-145 a factory (1366 x 768) for a full HD (1920 x 1080) one. I am also interested about this upgrade
I was wondering if anyone here has been able to set a L50t-A-145 running Win 8.1 to start with NumLock on the default start state.
I tried looking at the BIOS settings, where I always put before on other computers, but could not find the option here.
Thank you very much
To be honest I don t understand what you try to do
The Num Lock isn't associated with all the BIOS settings.
The Num Lock key is on the right in 10-digit keypad and press on this button will allow to disable NumLock
Satellite L500-19 x crashes when loading dvd software. It's photoshop elements 9. Other software by load generally okay, but not always.
Have you tried the Photoshop disc in another computer to check if the installation disc is ok or not?
What exactly happens when the computer crashes? Blue screen?
I have a Toshiba Satellite L50T-A running 64-bit Windows 8. All of a sudden my touchpad has disappeared from the settings. When I do a search for new material, it is not detected or the other. What a trendy?
I wish I had pictures with exactly what I need to do.
Thank you in advance.
If I understand you right touchpad is not detected and do not appear in Device Manager, right?
Problem is that you can not do much and touchpad to work force.
What you can try is to test the feature with the factory settings. With other words, you can set the BIOS to default settings and reinstall the original recovery image. After that this laptop will have the same parameters as for the first day after the first start.
If you do this, and the result is the same, that it is possible that the touchpad is defective or there is a problem with the touchpad to the motherboard connection. This should be controlled by the service of Toshiba.
You use an external mouse at this time?
I just got by Satellite L50t-C1469, but I am not able to find it on any Toshiba or even the entire internet site.
Have you checked this page - http://pc-support.toshiba-europe.com/drivers/

nvlddmkm.sys causes BSOD
I can't boot Vista from a week or two. Just before that the login screen should apear, it crashes into a BSOD, claiming that the problem is the driver nvlddmkm.sys.
I was checking the Internet for days now (a lot of forums), and it seems to be a 'common' problem, that occur with all the hardware and software of sorts features. I tried almost everything to fix, but nothing seems to work.
Is there a solution for this problem?
Compaq Presario SR1909, 7600GS, Vista Home Premium gForce.
Unfortunately, I think would be the driver or the card itself. Since it worked fine, then just stopped. My best guess would be that the card is the issue. You can cancel the driver installation when you arrive at the normal mode? If so, I would try cancel and download the new driver. Or if your in "safe mode with network" I go ahead and download them and ask them to loan. So if you can cancel it, you wouldn't have to go download them. Let us know and thanks again for posting.

My computer has an nvidia 9800 gt. Since then, a week ago that I am unable to play a video game, or use windows media center. If I ever start a video game or windows media center the program crashes and I get the error message, "nvlddmkm.sys has stopped responding and has recovered." A few times, I get a message from the blue screen and the computer needs to restart. I reinstalled the drivers and even restored software from my computer to the original factory condition. A year ago I noticed my computer screen would get dark, as if I was wearing sunglasses. I want to restart my computer and the screen would be normal again. I was wondering if my video card burned to some, and if I need a new video card. The average temperature of my videocard 76 degrees Celsius, is 167 degrees Fahrenheit.
The best sources of information would be Nvidia Support, their documentation online and their
forums. Try to remove ANY power and reseating the cables (both ends, memory and cards
When possible) - in fact, remove and replace - do not just tight. Clean the dust bunnies
and vents. Make sure that the internal fans are working and trying to use a small fan to blow
directly into the inlet to see if that helps.
NVIDIA - drivers - use OPTION 1 to manually enter your info driver to get the most recent drivers.
NVIDIA Support - check with the support that she might be a known issue
NVIDIA forums - also check for the forums it might be a known issue or others likely to have
Follow these steps to remove corruption and missing/damaged file system repair or replacement.
Run DiskCleanup - start - all programs - Accessories - System Tools - Disk Cleanup
Start - type in the search box - find command top - RIGHT CLICK – RUN AS ADMIN
How to analyze the log file entries that the Microsoft Windows Resource Checker (SFC.exe) program
generates in Windows Vista cbs.log
Then, run checkdisk - schedule it to run at next boot, then apply OK your way out, then restart.
How to run the check disk at startup in Vista
I hope this helps.

I searched and have found no clear solution, although there has apparently been a problem for years. I have not recently add any material. Heck, I wasn't even play all the games. I just browsing a site based on text when this has occurred first.

I tried to uninstall my driver and put it back. Who has actually worked temporarily, but the problem came back and is now more widespread than ever. My computer has started planting since yesterday. I played a game for a while and it might or might not be related; Eitherway, it suddenly froze the system unexpectedly and I had to reset my pc. After that system started correctly. I ran the game again to see what's going on, and unfortunately, it crashed the system again; has had to reset hard once more. After that, I got a BSOD with DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL score to nvlddmkm.sys. I tried to reboot once more to see if it disappears and the system charged up to the floating logo of W7, but I only got a black screen afterwards, no login screen either. I wasn't able to boot the system normally more, forcing me to use safe mode. After checking terrils, I decided to uninstall completely nvidia drivers and that helped - loaded correctly and installed system software of windows default driver.
Right now I'm in a situation where Windows seems to work stable unless I have try re-installing the drivers nvidia; In doing so, does not load results in a system and the BSOD screen again after W7 logo, no matter how many times I restart.
My basic features are:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (2.40 ghz, oc'ed to stable 3.20 ghz)
8 GB DDR2 RAM
Gigabyte Geforce GTX460 1 GB of RAM
Samsung 840 EVO 120 GB
ST1000DM003-1SB10C 1 TB
Silentium VERO L1 600W
W7 Pro SP1 with all latest updates
Here are the dumps (contains the dump of the first and the last being).
So far what I've done - tried unplugging all devices (including my Sound Blaster Tactic 3D Sigma headset), uninstalled Avast antivirus, tried reinstalling drivers nvidia in two different ways (of unsuccessfully); clean the GPU/CPU/power supply. I'm slowly running out of ideas. To add, I never really had problems with my PC - it works all the time for 8-9 years with no issues whatsoever and I moved from c2d e6750 and GTS250 a year (or more) there are what I currently; never had any problems with these components, either. I always intend to Exchange my gpu for further testing, but since I do not have an integrated GPU and video signal passes through GTX460, I don't really know if there is a damaged graphics card (perhaps wrong, however).
If anyone knows what is the origin of the problem and what can be done to avoid a full system reinstall, I would be really grateful for any help.
I swapped the GTX460 with my old GTS250 for test. Apparently, it seems that the GTX460 was damaged and all misleading BSOD was actually caused by defective behavior. Fix to 750ti in a while.
I swapped to 750ti and all is well again. This case can be considered resolved.
