  Have you installed Synaptics touchpad driver?

  Open the properties for Synaptics and check if this option is enabled correctly.

  By the way: FN + F9 has nothing to do with this specific option. Using this key combination you can simply toggle touchpad in general.

  I've updated to Firefox 4.01 today and the Center knob on my Lenovo T400 does more. I downloaded the updated Ultranav utility and the Ultranav driver for my T400 by http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-72858.html , then uninstalled the 'Thinkpad Ultranav Driver' to add/remove programs, rebooted and then installed the update utility and driver (another reboot) and now it works perfectly.

  So happy to get it working again.

  I have Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) edition in my laptop Toshiba Satellite (L650-12 q) and after a new start the Windows stopped working. I have a recovery disk that does not load (I'm done with the pointer in a blank screen) and the drive to install windows 7 would not work either (same thing). Safe mode no longer works.

  This probably means that the partition has a problem I'm wrong? -J' used Ubuntu Live CD, which confirmed that c:\ cannot be mounted while d:\ can.

  The problem however is double: a) I'm not sure that aspect of my data is accessible or not (I can't check) and b) I can't reinstall Windows, as Windows 7 installation process does not work.

  Any ideas please on what to do next? I want to access the partition, have searched on the internet (even tried with a Windows 98/XP boot disk), but had no chance that the partition is written in a newer way, which is not detected by them...

  In any case, try to start the recovery disk, follow these steps:
  -Launch the laptop model and when you see the Toshiba screen home press F12 repeatedly to enter the boot options
  -When the boot menu appears to place the recovery disc into the optical disc drive
  -in the menu choose the CD/DVD drive and press ENTER
  ODD must start recovery disc playback.

  Since you mentioned different problems with your laptop, I think that in this case its recommended to get the laptop back to factory settings just to check if all these problems are related to the problem of system.

  Regarding the webcam: Windows 8/8.1 already contains the webcam drivers and therefore additional webcam driver installation isn t possible. Extra webcam driver is not simply.

  From my point of few smells of any description as a bit of a problem of material, the upper part of the slide where the touch screen is part of.

  So I just got my z710 the other day. clone the drive (for a rainy day). Then formatted and installed Win7 Pro 64-bit. I managed to get everything in working order, except that I would sometimes like to disable the touchpad. I use a mouse for games and other and access key does not work to turn it off.   After you have installed Windows on the new drive, have you thought to install all the drivers for your hardware? Looks like that you did not do this. Plug a USB Wired mouse and go to the Dell website and download all the drivers/utilities for your Latitude. This includes the touchpad drivers. Wireless mouse drivers need to be downloaded on site of the mouse mftr. and then installed.

  I need to call phone telephone keypad with number pre-filled, however Phone::requestDialpad does not always work. If the phone application has never been used for startup of the phone, then calling Phone::requestDialpad evokes it without switching to the keypad (if so I manually go, I can see it filled with the number, I have passed to requestDialpad). When I close the phone application and call Phone::requestDialpad from within my application again, everything starts to work - phone application appears and switches on the dial pad.

  Is this a known problem or I do something wrong? I have also reviewed as part of Invocaion, but the manual is not described anything to activate keypad - only for phone calls and showing the call log. Is there a MIME type or action to show just Dial Pad with pre-populated number?
