Satellite L650 - Modem always stall

We have a portable L650 with built in modem software, which is used for the dial-up Internet access.
It is to always disconnect the phone line online and is a real pain to use.
The previous desktop PC, we used had an external modem and give up never once again 8 years of use.

Line quality seems good without clicks or pop obvious. There is also a telephone and a response system wireless connected to the same line.
The previous external modem could connect only to 33 k maximum but it wasn't because of the quality of the line, this is because the phone is a pair gain system that apparently somewhat limited bandwidth.

I tried to plug the old external modem (Banksia 56 K MyModem) via a USB-serial cable to the laptop but this introduces more problems, he also continues to win! Seems like it is just too old to 10 years or more with out-of-date drivers.

This Toshiba modem appears extremely sensitive. There are modem strings which could be sent before the composition which can help?
Perhaps, he could be forced to a fixed 33 k connection speed?

Any help would be appreciated as we crazy here!
Another external modem or a wireless connection isn't really an option, nor is to unplug the phone whenever we go online.

Thank you!

Hello

> This is to always disconnect the phone line online and is a real pain to use.

The modem supports the analog connection and must be always connected to an analogue telephone line.
Never connect it line digital as an ISDN or similar!

If you have established the connection to the internet, then the phone line would be busy... This is nothing unusual...

I have no confidence in this product, I do not store anything on the hard drive, cannot use it to work just in case it goes bad again. I reached the point of being completely satisfied with this product that I have absolutely no confidence in its quality and reliability.

I had a failure I'm afraid to use it for something else only to e-mail and internet. It is totally unacceptable and cannot continue. When I bought this machine, I trusted reputation and name of Toshiba. It was a big mistake.

I would like Toshiba to reassess this product either refund my money or provide me with a new laptop replacement that works. I have a product that has lost hours of my time and is a source of sorrow and frustration. Basically, it cost me a lot of money because of the time lost trying to make it work. I got it with this camera and I'm not happy to go through another round of repairs. I bought a new machine and ended up with a loser of second hand.

I just bought a Toshiba satellite L650 and I realized that the WiFi led is always on (with orange) and I can't turn off the WiFi using the Fn + F8 combination. • Satellite L650-12 q - Flashcard issues new

    Model: Satellite L650-12 q

    Hello.

In 2010, I thought I had solved this problem.
    Please see this thread:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/message.jspa?MessageID=212557#212557

Unfortunately, I seem to have similar problems again, even if I don't remember to make changes that could have been the cause.

I tried everything suggested on other threads I've seen, including the value added package download, but the still flashcards do not appear when I press the "fn". I tried to add a shortcut to TCrdMain.exe in my "start" menu, and appears to start/Configuration of the system in the form "TfcRst" (ticked), it is listed as "unknown manufacturer.

I also checked that in 'Parameters of Flashcards' the 'disable all function keys' is unchecked.

Often, when I start/re-start my computer, I get the message:

+ "Windows cannot find"TCrdMain.exe". Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again. » +

Then when I see the shortcut in the "Startup" folder disappeared.

I also copied a shortcut to TfcRst on your desktop in order to restart the flashcards. When I click on this, the flashcards reappear properly when I press the "fn". Even when I do not "restarted" cards flash in this way, however, the key "fn" still usable in conjunction with the function to mute sound and brighten up keys and brightness; It's just that flash cards do not appear in the upper part of the screen.

Obviously, this isn't a significant and insurmountable problem: I can always use the functions of flashcard without the flashcards appearing and, by clicking the shortcut on the desktop, can restore the appearance of the flashcards if I want. I find it interesting that this situation prevails and am wondering if anyone here can offer an explanation or compensation.

I would be very grateful for any advice.

I have no explanation for this, as for many other issues using windows systems.
It is possible that the system is confused maybe something wrong with the registry, who knows

The error message: "Windows cannot find"TCrdMain.exe". Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again"is very interesting and in my opinion, it might appear because"TCrdMain.exe"is not found in the folder or access has been locked by an other anti spy, firewall or antivirus software

I also recommend to choose the last PPV has published new series.
Clean the registry with CCleaner and reboot the device.

But I'm scared, finally, you will need to retrieve the device to factory settings to repair m

  • WiFi connection falls back only when the Satellite L650 is sitting on the glass desk

Since I bought a new Ikea glass desk, free wifi on my laptop Toshiba has been stalling. It took me a while to put the two together.

Whenever I'm sitting there on the desk, wifi is de-energized, but as soon as I took it off the table, wifi will reconnect immediately and it works normally.

I used it on a covered with _wooden in the same region and it works completely fine and never gave up.

I recently bought a Toshiba wireless mouse which said seller works on any surface. Well, it doesn't work on my glass desk and I had to buy a mousepad for that and now it works...

I'm using Windows 7 Home Edition premium on a Toshiba Satellite L650 laptop computer model No.: PSK1JA - 0K 3017.

Please help me solve this problem! What can I do to stop falling out wifi while it sits on the glass desk? All responses are much appreciated thanks!

    Hi Chan

I m very surprised after reading your interesting ad. To be honest, I use Toshiba laptops for a long time now and I ve never used on glass desk so I don't have any experience with this issue and I also think that you are the first person that relates to this topic.

It's a really new and very interesting information. I m really interested on this thread and I would like to hear more of other people who use the glass desk.
What to do about it? Simple question, but I fear none of us can give you good advice on this topic m.

OK it's a nothing with your question, but if you use it on the desktop you can use the connection to the LAN? I mean that if you may have a kind of Home Office you must connect using the connection to the local network. I do though that the WLAN router is active.

  • Satellite L650 Wireless disconnects and connection cannot be retrieved

    Hello everyone,

I have a connectivity problem with my 3 year old Satellite L650, Windows 7...

I have a LAN wireless in my house, so that my laptop will automatically connect at startup, without any problem.
After some time (it can be minutes or hours) it loses signal and disconnects.

This isn't a real problem, because the router is quite far from here, with walls between which can reduce the signal, so no surprises.
But I can't reconnect later: connection status icon stops working.

I mean it shows the image corresponding to "available wifi connections" or "connected but no internet access, but or by clicking on the icon or move the cursor of the mouse on it gives no output... it is responseless, and I can't connect to my wifi or any other wireless network.

I tried to do it from the control panel - network and sharing Center, but the story is the same, the two "set up a new connection or network" and "connect to a network" is not responding when you click on it.
The only way to connect is to restart the pc.

    How can I solve this?

    Any suggestion is appreciated,
    Thank you!

    > The only way to connect is to restart the pc.
In case this question is repeated once again, try to refresh and renew the IP address.

Go to the console (in the type of search CMD)
Now use the command: ipconfig / renew

After this attempt to connect to the Wlan again.

In which case it would not be useful, I recommend you to change the settings of the router.
I mean that you need to reset the router. Then, you need to test with different types of protection Wlan Wlan connectivity and other standard Wlan (802 11 B G or N)

Test also the laptop with open WiFi. I mean, you must disable the encryption settings of the router. But this is only for testing purposes.
The WiFi network must always be secure.

  • Satellite L650 - network not recognized

    Hello!

I just bought a new laptop of Toshiba Satellite L650 with Windows 7 pre-installed. I tried to install my internet high speed wireless on the laptop, but I try to connect every time, the network status box indicates that the network cannot be identified (public network) and there is no access to the network. The thing is, the connections for the modem Wireless Manager shows that it + is + connected and this was confirmed by my internet provider - to their end, looks like I'm connected. I downloaded and installed all the drivers for the modem and the software updated and has not made a difference. I also contacted the center of support for my security software and they can't identify the problem either - I've disabled the firewall completely and it made no difference. I don't really know what is happening, as far as I can connect to another wireless network, I have very well via a different USB modem with another provider, as well as my home network LAN.

If someone could help me, the exact details are:

    -Phone: Satellite L650
    -OS: Windows 7 Home Edition
    -Wireless provider: Bigpond (Australia)
    -Network: Bigpond wireless 3G
-Modem: Maxon BP3 - EXT Modem (connects to the pc via USB and is about 2 years old. It is identified by my supplier as compatible Windows 7)
-Software security: McAfee Total Protection 2011

I looked online to try to find a solution, but a lot of it is so technical that I do not understand.

    Thank you very much.

    Hey,.

Your ad is somehow a bit confusing you speak without wire and then update driver for the modem.

If you want to connect to your router wireless using the internal WLAN card you need to update the WIFI card driver that you can download from this page:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

So, how do you go online? You write something on the USB modem. Is your router or what exactly?

You can also try to disable the McAfee software to see if it blocks the Internet connection or not.

  • Satellite L650-1CN - to set to factory settings

I have an old Satellite L650-1CN computer laptop laptop computer (about 5 years).

The serial number is found on the support page, or no serial number. I want to back completely to how she left the factory.

I found on the internet it is must be the f1 or f8 key 0, when startying to the top, but this doenst work.
I also found the "toshiba recovery media creator', but when I open the program it says its been (re) moved. On the D drive, there is a direction of "valorisation", but I can't open these files. Windows asks me to choose a program to open with.

Can someone help me with this?
It's a good laptop, so it would be a shame to throw it away.

Thank you very much for your help!

Press the power button / stop and immediately press the F8 key.
This should allow you to access the Advanced Boot Menu.
Usually, you should be able to choose the first option "Repair my computer", then "Toshiba HDD recovery."

If this is not possible, then you must use the recovery media to recover the laptop.
I guess that you have not created the recovery disc in the past...
But it seems that the recovery files are always available on the HARD disk

    So, try this workaround:
How to create a recovery media USB flash drive to the valorisation of the ISO images - or disks (DVD)
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD4103KB0000R01.htm

If this will not help, try to order the recovery at Arvato disc:

  • No access to the Satellite L650 (PSK1JA) network

    Hello

I have a portable satellite L650-PSK1JA-0ED017 who is struggling to find network devices.

The history on this laptop is... Hard drive failed, so a replacement was installed (Win7 home x 64) OS has been reinstalled from the recovery disks created at time of purchase. The laptop worked perfect for about 2 months, but all of a sudden would not load drivers LAN or WLAN.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall, using the existing driver and also download the driver from Toshiba. I always get the message "Windows could not load the drivers for this device error 31". I suspected hardware fail, but managed to restart and get the old HDD running and was able to see available networks, so that rejected this theory.

Then I suspected viruses or Malware, but ran scans for them and found nothing.

Can anyone suggest how to remove all traces of existing drivers so that I can reinstall with cost downloads to check there is not a corrupted file the cause.

I tried to plug in a USB networking device and also get the "error 31, Windows cannot load driver". IM starting to think that this is not some other driver to do with the network, rather than a specific network device driver interfaces.

I tried to do a Sysprep in the OOBE, while keeping all the data of the software that we have installed / copied, but it does not and I have been unable to fill.

Really, I don't want to do a cover of the OS, but I'm as a last resort.

    Any help appreciated.

    Jon

    Hi Jon

I use laptops Toshiba several years now and I was ever faced with such a problem, especially if the laptop is preinstalled with original recovery image. Recovery image contains tested drivers and they work. I noticed that Windows update offers for some driver WLAN models as optional update. I hope you didn t install.

Googling around for you can find many links and forums on such topic debates. You can check out what write about other people, but if you can't fix it with reinstalling the driver I assume there must be a problem with the registry entries. It is quite complicated to clean especially for someone who doesn t have enough experience with that.

In my opinion you should backup all your data and reinstall the recovery image. Start using the laptop with preinstalled OS clean and check from time to time restore point.
I know it is the last option but more simple and more efficient.

  • Satellite L650/OED - out of disk space

    Hello

I just bought a laptop Toshiba Satellite L650/OED, and stated in the specifications, storage is 640 GB, but the only hard drive in my computer after I first initalized, it is only 583GB, what's missing?

And I have read the user menu and found that there is a recovery partition which has been hidden, so how can I find this partition?

It seems that the default setting for this laptop is that there is only one disk hard C, but no other disk dirve D or E. So, how can I protect my files once I need to reformat the C?

    Thank you

    Hi TYQ,.

I think the problem is that you always less disk space that you can find on the specifications on the HARD drive. On Wikipedia, there is an interesting article on the measures of capacity:
    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Hard_disk_drive#capacity

As you can see, everything is ok with your disk ;)

With regard to the recovery partition: you should see when you go into Windows disk management. But if you remove it, you aren't able to use HARD drive recovery.
