Satellite L655D crashes on Windows startup screen and does not start

Hi, I hope someone can help me.

Portable Satellite L655D age of 18 months of my daughter began to hang on the black 'starting windows' screen, when it stays until it turns off after several minutes. I didn't spend this stage for several days, and the machine seems completely unusable.

I then turn off by pressing the power button for a few seconds, I can then select F12 with the option to start in safe mode, but the laptop never makes it in safemode, it real just data on a screen black for a few seconds and then it crashes with the message "Please wait".

Others that look, I'm not able to go beyond these screens.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Darren

Hello

Did you create a recovery disk?
In this case, you could use this drive in order to reinstall windows on the laptop system.

Another possibility is to drive HARD recovery. Press the power button, F8 and choose fix my computer. Now choose HARD drive recovery.

I hope that you can do this

Your hypothesis is right. To resolve this problem, we need to repair your installation of Windows using the Windows XP disk. We recommend that you contact the manufacturer of the laptop to check if they have the Windows recovery disk.

  • MacBook Pro glued on the gray screen and does not start. Help, please!

    Hello

My 13 "MacBook Pro (mid-2009), running Snow leopard (10.6.8), has finally given up and won't start.

I tried to boot into SafeMode several times, but the loading bar does not move and the laptop just completely stops.

I also tried to boot in single user mode with the command fsck - fy, but this results in the following:

    disk 0 s 2: I / 0 error

    Invalid node structure

    (4,35296)

    * The Macintosh HD volume could not be completely checked.

    / dev/rdiskOs2 (hfs)

    You leave with signal 8

I guess that means that there is something wrong with the hard disk and some corrupt files?

My problem is that I have no time machine backups, so I would like to know if it is possible to do something to get to the top and running.

That, I do not have an external drive with my main important files and photos on a failure, so is it possible to completely erase the computer so I can sell it at least?

I really need help on what I've been driving myself crazy trying to figure it out!

I'm not all techniques with regard to the material. I tried doing research and have seen things, which suggests that I should reinstall the OS X, this would imply in the disks provided with the laptop when the power?

    Any advice greatly appreciated!

Boot from the DVD and run the check/repair disk utility and repair permissions until you get no errors.  Reformat the hard disk using Disk Utility/Erase Mac OS extended (journaled), then click on the Option button and select GUID. Then re-install the operating system.

When you restart, use Setup Wizard to restore your data.

    Hey,.

It seems that water damged your laptop or at least some parts. In the worst cases, you need a lot of new pieces of equipment, but I don't think that an authorized service provider can help you diagnose this problem.

On the Toshiba site, you can search for them:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > find an authorized service provider

Contact them and ask for help. They will help you as much as possible. :)

  • I have Windows 7, my computer does not start. I did the Startup Repair and he won't fix it. I did the system configuration information

I have Windows 7, my computer does not start. I did the Startup Repair and he won't fix it. I did the system configuration information. and that did not help. What to do now? The comment of Bios makes me fear that it could damage my computer forever. What should do? Help, please

    Hi Alan,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    I understand that the computer does not restart even after running Startup Repair and I will be happy to answer your query. I appreciate the efforts made to try to make it work. Let me ask you;

    • How do you run the Startup Repair?
    • Do you have Windows 7 repair disc?
    • Remember to no particular change in the computer before the show?
    • Have you plugged an external equipment, except the keyboard and mouse?
    • You are able to start the computer in safe mode?
    • What is the brand and model of the computer?

Note: BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

There could be several reasons why he's not leaving including hardware as well. In addition, it could be because the master boot record (MBR) has been damaged. When you try to use the Startup Repair tool to repair the MBR, the Startup Repair tool indicates that no problem was found or it does not work yet.

If you have any connected USB flash drive or other external devices connected to the computer, if you please, remove them and try to run the Startup Repair tool.

If you haven't tried using Windows 7 repair disc, you can try the following:

    1. Insert the Windows 7 disc
    2. restart your computer
    3. When asked if you want to boot from your DVD player, do it.
    4. Select your language, click Next.
    5. click on repair your computer
    6. Select the operating system you want to repair.

You can also perform the system restore by selecting the restore point when you think it worked very well. System Restore, choose advanced options using the disc.

Important: When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, the programs and updates that you have installed after this date are deleted.

I also recommend to contact the computer manufacturer to get the done diagnostic equipment.

Hope this information is useful. Please feel free to answer in the case where you are facing in the future other problems with Windows.

    Hello jerrylumpe

    1. If you use an old mouse, try to clean it.

    2. you can have a running process in the background that keeps XP thinking that he is busy and so the screen standby does not start.
Go to msconfig and uncheck everything you don't need, then see if the screensaver will kick in.

    Start/run and type
    Msconfig
    Ok

    Startup tab
Keep the page open then click on the link below. It will tell you what are all the entries and see if you can disable them or not

    http://www.SysInfo.org/STARTUPINFO.html

Read the key at the foot of the page, then click on "Here" at the top. Use the search box to check all your entries

    Try this too
    http://www.kellys-Korner-XP.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Line 51 left side. Click on "toggle".

It could be that something is resetting the timer. For example, it does take much vibration to move the mouse a little, and which will reset the timer to zero. Something like that would be possible? Or a pet that walks on the keyboard?

  • Screen saver does not start automatically

original title; SCREEN SAVER DOES NOT START AUTOMATICALLY

My screensaver stopped automatically to come if I use an excerpt it's turns on and will remain lit.  How can I fix or can uninstall and reinstall?

It becomes a problem growing with the screen savers. The issue is background programs and services that are enough tasks that the computer never thinks that it becomes "inactive". Programs cannot do any real work, but are cycling through their operations individual enough to keep the computer "awake".

Try to start your computer with a "clean boot", (see Microsoft Support articles below). If this resolves the issue and you definitely want your screen saver, you'll have to discern what substantive programs and services that you can live without being active all the time, and turn them off.

For what it's worth, the systems that I watched recently with this problem were 'smart phone' synchronization software recently installed and who is constantly looking for something to synchronize with regardles to know if they are connected to what whether or not. Change the start of these programs and services 'on demand' to 'always' solves the problem in these cases.

    Hello

Well, usually the common screensaver that are pre-installed on the operating system to work properly. I put t know what screensaver you use, but I guess that you have installed a 3rd party screensaver. In this case you should check these settings. For the most part a screensaver 3rd party has a parameters.

  • When I started my computer this morning, it ran chkdsk at startup, windows startup it goes immediately to chkdsk, it will be repeated again and again. I can boot into safe mode, but if I try to start windows normally it runs chkdsk and does not start

Windows does not start normally, just run chkdsk again and again

First test the hard drive to make sure it's healthy. Test the hard drive with a diagnostic utility downloaded from site of the disc mftr. or use SeaTools for BACK of Seagate. You create a bootable CD with the files you download. You will need a third party burning software to do as the free ImgBurn, Nero or Roxio. Burn as an image, not in the form of data.

    http://www.ImgBurn.com

    http://www.Seagate.com/www/en-us/support/downloads/SeaTools/seatooldreg
    http://Seagate.custkb.com/Seagate/CRM/selfservice/search.jsp?docid=201271 (how-to)

Boot with the CD that you have done and do a full test of the reader. The physical tests fail, replace it.

If the hard drive then passes the physical tests, safe mode:
Start > run > cmd [Enter]
fsutil dirty query c: (or the appropriate drive letter) [Enter]

This will tell you if the disc is dirty or not. Then always in cmd:

chkntfs /x c: (or the appropriate drive letter) [Enter]

This tells Windows not not to check this drive at startup. Reboot and it should go on the desktop. Once Windows loaded, run cmd and:

Chkdsk /f /r c: (or the appropriate drive letter) [Enter]

CHKDSK will run through all 5 steps. After that it's over, always in cmd:

fsutil dirty query c: (or the appropriate drive letter) [Enter]

to see that the dirty bit is not set on this drive.

  • Windows 7 Home Premium does not start and an external monitor connected via DVI to HDMI Cable

I have a Dell Inspiron 531 desktop computer with a NVIDEA GeForce 8400 GS video card.  This video card has the following outputs: DVI, VGA and S-video.  When I connect it to my computer via the VGA port to PC to my Sony Bravia KDL-40XBR4 monitor port, the machine starts perfectly.  If I connect via a HDMI cable to one of the HDMI monitor DVI ports, the screen displays the video BIOS, but turns black when the operating system begins to load.  If I connect another monitor to the VGA port, yet once the machine boots fine, but if I connect the monitor to the computer and the Sony Bravia, once again the machine does not start.  The strange thing is that if I boot with only the connected computer screen and then plug the DVI to HDMI cable, then Windows 7 sees the Sony Bravia monitor very well, and I can extend the desktop.  If the machine mode 'sleep', both monitors work very well to wake up the PC.  So, if the Sony Bravia is connected alone or with the computer screen, the machine does not start (the screen will display 'go black' when the OS starts to load.)  I tried to run Windows in Mode safe, but he won't either.  I have all the updates of Windows applied and have installed the latest drivers from nVidea so.

    Hey Chris,

First of all, about climbing, is not a technical support; This is a community forum where MS moderator and contributors are involved.  Now to your question ~

It's very strange that the PC does not start when this unit is connected, but works fine when connected after the fact.  I've seen several cases where a hardware configuration of uinsusal will prevent a PC to boot.  I think that the culprit may be DVI to HDMI Cable that you are using.  If I were you, I try to connect the PC to a DVI monitor and see if it boots normally.  Also, see if the monitor can prevent another PC to start when it is connected directly via the HDMI.

Good luck! Let us know how it turns out.
