Satellite L670 series keyboard problem

Hello

I have a TOSHIBA L670-11Z computer and 16 other people on a [french forum | http://forum.hardware.fr/hfr/OrdinateursPortables/Composant/defectueux-portable-satellite-sujet_58317_1.htm#t1186048].
We all have the same problem with keyboard.
When we type something, some keys are lost down by the keyboard (such as a buffer overflow)

An external USB keyboard works very well.

Some of our machine went to TOSHIBA support and came back with the same problem!

This problem is known outside France?

I did a [Facebook page | http://www.facebook.com/pages/Mon-Toshiba-deconne/175966572415167] on that with [video | http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=123891791004342] showing the keyboard stopping by hitting the button "a".

According to some users in this forum, BIOS update helped to address this problem.
That is why I also recommend updating the BIOS!

    Hello

I have a keyboard with Satellite P200, series PSPB6E problem.

Keyboard seems to generate Press Page Down constantly, although nothing has been paid to this subject.
It is even difficult to turn on laptop, because it produced consecutive beeps and prevents the computer from starting.

Sometimes some keyboard characters do not work, and in the second time it works. Sometimes same PgDown works as expected.
Œuvres for additional keyboard, but it also receives PgDown keyboard of the laptop.

Now, I can't insert any sentence in this post, because PgDown will move the cursor down.
Laptop is under warranty. Should I enable it?

I note that no. LIQUID is poured on the keyboard.

On the keyboard of the computer laptop not work keys A, B, N, LEFT SHIFT, INPUT, same brief moments where PgDown keys not dumping. Sometimes even these key works!

    Hello

I put t have it, but best friend of my girlfriend had it and I installed and configured this machine so I got it in my hands and I must say that the keyboard is OK, and I didn't notice anything unusual.

Also, talk with your local dealer to return option. In my country I have 14 days to return the product if I don't like it. Maybe you have the same option in your country. Check it out.

In any case, I must also say that the Satellite Pro L670 is good laptop for all activities of the day. Nice design, very good material and enough power/performance. With other words: nice piece of hardware for the money.

  • Satellite L670-D13 - keyboard dobules or lack of characters

    Hello!

I have a new satellite L670 D13 with a problem. I tested Windows 7 64 bit and back. I think the problem is the problem of BIOS, but my version of BIOS is a latest version of the bios (on the satellite L670 D13) 1.5

    the error test.
press a key and hold it down.

    Hello

have you tried with the keyboard external usb? I read that many discussions on the problems of keyboard belonged to the series satellite l. In some discussions, update Bios might resolve, disabling the Microsoft ACPI (heading battery in Device Manager), but after restart begins prayer again. My personal opinion, go to the store and replace it with a new one.

  • Satellite L670-143 - keyboard LAG but work external keyboard

Hey all, I recently (3 weeks ago orsomething) bought a new laptop, a Toshiba Satellite l670-143.
    Windows 7 64 bit
    Intel® Core i5 - 430 M processor
    : 2.26 / 2.53 turbo GHz
    level 2: 3 MB cache
    4 096 (2 048 + 2 048) MB of ram
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 graphics card

But this last week ive been keyboard problems. The problem is not always present, but when his present is not weather im play, surf the internet or write an important document.
I'm not sure at 100% what the problem is, I spent hours trying to understand and to remedy, but nothing seems to help. But when I press a P, I sometimes PPPs. Or when I press a P, it does not appear. It is with all keys. And especially when I type fast. Also, when I pressed the back button, it "lags behind (for a fraction of a second)" every 2 seconds orso. When the problem is not present, the BACKSPACE key is smooth.

I did a lot of virusscans and did all the registercleanups etc. I made sure that the keys filters and sticky keys are disabled. I checked all drivers updates. When I tried the fix http://keyliner.blogspot.com/2009/11/windows-7-slow-keyboard-response.html nr.1, he disappeared when I rebooted. but the next day, the problem came back and when I redid it, (does what it says + delete the file and recreate) it does not solve the problem. Maybe it was just random chance, I don't know. I turned off the laptop battery to see if she was getting better, he has not.
I'm not sure of what other ive also tried...

When I plug my usb keyboard (I write about this now) is not a problem either.

Ive also browsed this forum,'m (happy in fact) to see that others have the problem as well, but I'm still looking for a solution that works for me
. It would be simply amazing that I could get rid of this, its incredibly frustrating :(

    Thanks for your time.

-To show wht TI locomotives as when I type wth myyy built-in keyboard, herr's-

    Hello

To be honest, if an external keyboard is working correctly I think that it s a hardware malfunction and keyboard connected internally. I doubt it of a virus or something else because the same mistake happen on an external keyboard as well.

In addition to the keyboard there is no special driver, it of a part of Windows so that you can t update the keyboard driver.

Now in your case I would take with the closest authorized service provider contact. Your laptop is only 3 weeks so it s under warranty. If you communicate with ASP, they can view the workbook, and if you need a new keyboard, the repair is free. :)

  • Satellite Pro C50 keyboard problems - A - 1 L 6

    Hello

I just bought this new Satellite Pro.

I have installed all the drivers and updated the bios to the latest version, but I still have the same problem: when I write, many times my keyboard writes double letters (for example, all ten words written keyboard a letter double, as "keybboard").

I tried also to change the properties of the keypad on the control panel of Windows 8, but nothing has changed.

I called support, but they just told me that I have to bring my laptop in a helpdesk: but I need my new computer to work, and I wouldn't be happy to lose at least 4 weeks!

And, support told me that, if the laptop has no hardware problem, I would have to pay for assistance...
    .
So, this is my first experience and unlucy in the world of Toshiba...
Is there someone who can give me some advice to solve this problem?
It may be a problem running on the new laptops, and someone knows how to fix this?

    Thank you very much!

    Hi guys,.

As far as I know that these similar keyboard problems in the past could be resolved by the BIOS updated.
I found the new BIOS for Satellite Pro C50 - A
    http://Support1.toshiba-tro.de/Tedd-files2/0/BIOS-20140912105436.zip
    Worth a try

Another question: If someone has done to test a USB external keyboard?
In the case where the external USB keyboard would work correctly, this issue isn't associated with BIOS or keyboard controller but probably his keyboard fault internal.

  • Satellite L670-1jQ - HDMI problem

    Hello

I bought a brand new Satellite L670-1JQ especially for the blu - ray, HDMI output. I also have a screen 42 "flat with HDMI input jack.
The meaning was to play a blu - ray on the laptop drive and transfer the video to the flat screen.
When I connect the laptop to the flat screen, I can duplicate or extend the desktop. This isn't the problem. The problem is when I move Corel WinDVD BD from my office to the flat screen I see the screen reader but not video, and when I move the player back to my office, that video is displayed again.

Which is in expansion mode. When I try to open WinDVD on the desktop a copy on my flat screen, then sometimes nothing happens at all! I'm doing something wrong? Or the game can't handle the flat screen?

As far as I know that this player will never work on extended display. The reader works only on LCD.
To be honest I don t understand why you use extended desktop when you want to watch movies.
After you connect your screen, use the FN + F5 key combination and switch to the TV only. Start the movie and the BD player. When the film starts to put the player mode full screen and enjoy the movie on the TV.

Extended display will work perfectly when you work with some applications but there must be a graphical limitation and with BD player will not work.

  • On Satellite A505-S6973 keyboard problems

    Goodday once again everyone,

Can someone tell me if the built-in on my Satellite A505-S6973 keyboard has a backlight.
I watch a lot of these new laptops and similar to mine, under the keyboard it is white and I don't know if that's how it's supposed to light. If so, can someone tell me.

On the Toshiba U.S. support page I checked the specification for laptop computer and, of course, your laptop doesn t have this backlit keyboard.
Just FYI: all illuminated keyboard have FN + Z option to turn on/off illumination.
With other words symbol small keyboard will be on the Z key.

This option, when the backlit keyboard is in the book is also available in Toshiba HWSetup tool.

  • Satellite L670 - missess keyboard keys

Hey all, had this problem since the new - November 2010.

I've seen several threads on the same issue, but above all, all have been solved by an update of the BIOS.

I did this update of the BIOS when it came out and everything was fixed.
So long that I have been using an external keyboard, but I decided to unplug the unit yesterday and once more the problem occurred.
It took about 3-4 minutes to type while it should take me less than a minute.

Here is an example of a sentence:
"I have a keyboard problem which is irritating a me lot"-FIXED
"I am avea keyoard isue wich is irriatin me a lot"-RAW

    Thank you
    Ravi

    Hello

You have installed an additional driver for this keyboard? If so, I would recommend removing this driver. For external mouse and you n t need special keyboard drivers, the internal Windows driver is enough and can be used for this.

In addition, enter the BIOS setup and load the defaults (F9 key). Then save settings and exit the BIOS.

    It works again?

  • On Satellite C660-1J2 keyboard problems

I have 2 laptops from Toshiba, type Satellite C660-1J2 used by 2 different people and we both have the same problem.
The problem is with typing, many times it jumps a letter and sometimes a letter not to show, and then when you hit it again you get 2 letters and sometimes just get 2 letters to hit once.

We tested it and it's a real big problem for us, because we use it for school...

    Help us please!

Update the BIOS this will certainly solve!

  • Satellite L855 - 12N - keyboard problem after upgrade to Windows 10

    Greetings friends,
the problem goes like this: I have a TOSHIBA satellite, L855-12N, Series notebook.

After updrading to win 10, some of my keys (a, n, enter) did not work initially.
If I wait for awhile, they start work later.
I find that I continue to press a button, (for example the button "a") for a long time, I see that he started to answer, then stop again and then answer - stop, until finally it works OK.
I tried to update the drivers, uninstall and then reinstall, but it doesn't seem to work.
Anyone know what's going on, or have any suggestions?
    Thank you.

    You are 100% it's a matter of Windows 10?
Looks more like a hardware problem, keyboard should replace.

Go into the BIOS and test the keyboard in there.
If it goes into the BIOS and then replace the keyboard.

If it's a software problem, try uninstalling the driver for the touchpad Control Panel, then reinstall it via Windows Update.

  • On the Satellite U50T-A keyboard problem

    I have a U50T.-a Satellite.
Control device (keyboard) shows the following error message:
Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

I tried to solve this problem, but I don't know what to do.

Message was edited: assignment has been translated

Are you abele to use the USB mouse or the touchpad?

If Yes, then you should be able get the system back to point in time at the beginning.

Restart the computer, go to the area of backup and system restore, then select the save point that has been created in the past.

This restores the system and fix the registry.

I think the keyboard should work after this procedure.

  • Re: Satellite A300D - strange keyboard problem

    Hello!

    I have a problem with my Satellite A300D: when I press on 'y' or '5', I get a "y5" and when I press "n" or "b", I get a "nb".
If I hold down y or 5, it seems y5yyy... and with n and b I get nbnnn...

What you think could be the problem? Keyboard? Or some other hardware controller?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

It is difficult to say why this happens, but in your case I would like to connect an external keyboard and check this. You may notice the same behavior?

If not, I think the case is clear: your keyboard internal doesn t work properly and you need a new. Therefore, you can contact a service provider authorized in your country.

By the way: have you checked the keyboard input language?

  • Satellite Pro C660 - keyboard problems

This issue is one for computer laptop Toshiba Satellite Pro C660-1UX running Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1.

Some of the keys on Board (E, T, U, I, O, A, B, N, and the Enter key) fail to register.
All keys tested so far seem to register normally.

When you connect an external USB keyboard, all the keys work properly. When you use the integrated keyboard or external USB keyboard, however, pressed some key is selected for about 2-3 seconds so that his character register. This makes typing incredibly slow and is naturally unacceptable.

I checked the Manager of devices looking for errors, but can't find one. The keyboard driver is classified properly installed and functional, and driver update indicates that the latest version is in already in service.

I've also scanned for viruses using Spybot and Malware bytes and also with laptops own antivirus software pre-installed. All the analyses of the entire system refer a none found the message of threat.

I read that the keyboards on these machines can sometimes be problematic, which could respond only to edge, some function keys. The fact that all the external USB keyboard keys work seems to confirm this. However, the fact that the keyboard both onboard and external is affected by the same slow pressure might also suggest a bios problem - but that this laptop computer is several years old and working perfectly, why bios suddenly would cause this problem.

I visited the Toshiba site and based on this laptop with the part number: PSC0ME-02100SEN, I have concluded (rightly or wrongly) that the correct bios download version is 1, 70 - WIN, only when I read the following installation instructions http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9502M10000R01.htm bios
I became quite concerned, like installing the bios update seems far from simple.

Does anyone know if it is possible to download and install the bios right through an update automated versus manual download and installation step by step, which, if not carried out as planned, could make the laptop completely unusable.

Has anyone reading this post experienced similar problems with this make and model laptop and was able to return successfully to the good operating condition. If so, how?

All constructive advice would be welcome.

    > When you connect an external USB keyboard, all keys work correctly.

This means that the keyboard controller is OK and the internal keyboard is defective.
To resolve this problem of keyboard, internal keyboard needs to be replaced.

    > However, the fact that the keyboard on board as external is affected by the same keypress slow could also suggest a bios problem - but this laptop computer is several years old and works perfectly, why bios suddenly would cause this problem.

    Hmm I n t think so
The keyboard delay can be bound to parameters.
You can check this in the control panel-> keyboard
