Satellite L670D-159 (PSK3JE) - Touchpad freezes then all freeze

Hi everyone, I am working on Windows 7 64 bit, Service Pack 1. My laptop is 3-4 months. Readers are updated and what more? Ask me so necessarily.

I have a problem with my mouse "touchpad": it happens suddenly. As a first step, the cursor moves very slow or erratic. When I try to shut down Windows, nothing works. So I click with the left button then it work one or two times and no more everything is frozen. Nothing is possible. My work may not be enregistred.

Sometimes 'ctrl' + 'alt' + 'extra' opens the windows to choose to open the "Control Panel", but when I click it does not open. Sometimes after a long time, I can start over, but over time, I have to manually stop before starting again. The fan seems to work too often, faster and noisely.

Do you think of this problem, there is a patch or something else to do?

Best regards
Fabienne

Hey,.

Do you see the same behavior when you use an external mouse instead of the touchpad?

To be honest it's not easy to say what the cause of the problem, but have you ever tried to update the driver for the touchpad? You can find the latest version on the official page of Toshiba:

  • How to add video memory in my Satellite L670D-159?

    Hi all

I have a satellite L670D-159 with 8 GB RAM and 1 TB of HARD drive.

When I look at the record, I noticed that the video RAM could be upgraded to 1917 MB with 4 GB of RAM and an x 64 system.

    I use Windows 7 Home Premium x 64.
When I look at the video card, I saw that only affected the video RAM 256 MB.

I wanted to know how I could increase this value to 512 MB or 1 GB.
I found nothing in the BIOS and video driver.

If anyone has information of operation really, it'll be great.

    Hi Christophe

Unfortunately this option does not exist. Everything works automatically and the control system of the use of the Ram for video operations.

  • Satellite A500 keyboard and Touchpad freeze but the computer is still active

Hi, I hope that some might be able to help me with this frustrating problem.

Keyboard and mouse on my laptop have, during the last 4 months, been freezing almost randomly.

This problem occurs only with the keyboard and notebook computer touchpad. If I use an external USB mouse, I have no problem.

Please note that this is not all the freezing system. Once the keyb + touchpad freeze has occurred, I can always plug in a USB mouse and continue to use the computer.

    I have windows 7 64-bit.

And what model of laptop do you have?
Are you using the Toshiba recovery image or your own installation of the OS?

The touchpad does not work, but this time the '. insertion point' is able to move!

If for example, I am writing this post with the finger, I put the "PointInsertion" where I want to and click on the left button: it is right and I can write to this location.

Close other windows, I use tab, button left and right.
In conclusion, I think the bad (?) material is only sensitive touchpad.

    What should do?

    > Everything works fine and after a while, everything is frozen. I can't use the touchpad.
    > Sometimes the "tab" I want to save my work, and reboot the system.
    > But I do not often have to stop manually.

Have you noticed the same thing with the external USB mouse?
If the problem is the same using the USB mouse and touchpad then the issue is NOT related to the touchpad, but maybe other reasons may be that the system is overloading or the operating system may be corrupt.
Have you tried new installation of the OS?

  • Satellite T130-13 q - Touchpad freezes and upgraded CPU

Just I have updated the hard drive 500 GB, added windows edition integral, added the drivers one by one and I'm happy.
    BUT

The touchpad is terrible, yet drivers are up to date and the system options are cool, but it hangs or is difficult to use - offset by the use of a mouse, but why does this happen and can it be sorted? I have no problems with a USB mouse but the touchpad is a problem even before the changes, it was OK.

And more than two things. MUCH more important: can I change the processor? -C' is horrible. Think of Intel i7 or quad core Intel processor. How, if so? I think I might change it. RAM and disk is expandable.

Can I update the graphics card? If so, how?
It is much more unlikely to be scalable but worth a punt to interrogation.

Please get back to me, I need to perfect this machine...: P

    Hello

I put t understand why you bought this laptop if you want to update all

Regarding CPU and graphics update, there is enough discussion here in the forum. Just use the forum search and both is not possible. You lose the warranty and other s CPU are pre-tested not.

Regarding your touchpad: why is it horrible? If the drivers are up to date, you should check the preferences. Maybe you should just disable the tapping function or change the sensitivity.

    Good bye

  • TouchPad freezes on Satellite L40 - 18Z

    Hi all, first Post.

I am a former technician of I.T. & worked on computers since 1984, & on laptops since 2001.

This topic is mainly about the L40 - 18Z, but 2 other models are mentioned.

I met a problem with the TouchPad on a Toshiba L40 - 18Z, (& also an A100-338) running costs two installs 32-bit Vista Home Premium but not a recovery Partition or a Dvd.
Same problem as well on a L300 - 25K running Windows 7 Edition Home Premium.

The touchpad freezes sometimes. Sometimes, you can move the arrow cursor, but very slowly.

All 3 work fine, now with a Usb mouse.

ALL the latest drivers on the Toshiba site are installed on laptops all 3.
All updates are installed with Microsoft.
ALL have the latest Bios updates.

The L300 - 25K & the A100-338, I think I solved the problem by installing the package of value added, but the VAP software is not listed in the section for the L40 drivers.
I tried both the L300 & A100 VAP on the L40, but they did not work.

Strangely, on the L40, I reduced the 1280 x 800 screen resolution to 1280 x 768 & the problem seems to have, at least for the last day or so!

Also, I found that unplugging the power cord "cured" the problem on all 3 laptops right now.

I tried to feed all 3 laptops without batteries at the same time that the fault occurred, but cela made no difference, while the batteries must be in agreement.

The L300 is my own personal laptop & the other 2 are members of the family.

I don't think that laptops specifications is relevant to this problem, but let's go anyway:

    Toshiba Equium L40 - 18Z (PSL48E-033008EN)
    32-bit Vista Home Premium
    Intel Cpu T2330 @ 1.60 ghz
    1.5 GB Ram Pc2-5300
    80 GB SATA hard drive
    TruBrite Lcd 15.4 "

    Toshiba A100-338 (PSAAQE-006008AV)
    32-bit Vista Home Premium
    Intel Cpu T5200 @ 1.60 ghz
    2 GB Pc2-5300 Ram
    100 GB SATA Hdd
    TruBrite Lcd 15.4 "

    Toshiba L300 - 25K (PSLB9E-03M02UEN)
32-bit Windows 7 Home Premium (original Vista HP)
    Intel Celeron 900 Cpu @ 2.20 ghz
    2 GB Pc2-5300 Ram
    120 GB SATA hard drive
    TruBrite Lcd 15.4 "

I would go to the bottom of this for all future repairs, so if anyone has any suggestions...?

    > I found that C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTPEnh.exe has been "blocked" so I moved the file to the desktop, unlocked, then he came back

SynTPEnh.exe belongs to the Synaptics touchpad driver and I think that you have software installed on the laptop that doesn't work with this touchpad driver
It's only a guess, but maybe some firewall or anti-virus tool could block this exe. Maybe you should check it using a clean operating system.

Also try reinstalling the driver for the touchpad maybe it helps.

  • Satellite A300 - Touchpad freeze

    Hello

At my laptop for about 18 months. She has now developed an irritating habit of freezing the pointer that cannot be erased by restarting.

  • How to change the Satellite L670D-103 using new SSD 80 GB HARD drive?

    Hello

I have a Satellite L670D-103 with a 320 GB HARD drive running at 5400 RPM which is too slow for me.

So I plan to change this factory by a new SSD HDD to increase the performance of the overall system :)

But as the SSD are expensive, I have only a 80 GB SSD.

I built the recovery on a USB media and I want to use it to restore my system to the new SSD (I previously did the space needed to ensure that all data can be stored on my new SSD 80 GB space; p)

Retrieving SSD partitioning new procedure is done without error, but when copying image to restore data to freshly created the partition, one not enough space error stop the process!

It seems that the recovery procedure is possible on a hard drive that is equal or superior to the original size of the disk (320 gb).

So, how can I restore mysystem on my new SSD?

    Thank you
    Stéphane.

    > It seems that the recovery procedure is possible on a hard drive that is equal or superior to the original size of the disk (320 gb)

To my knowledge, you have different recovery options:

(* 1) * recovery of factory default software

    (a) recovery to out of box state
    (b) recovery without changing the HARD drive partitions
    (c) recovery of a custom size partition

    (* 2) * "erase the HARD drive.

I think that if you choose factory default software recovery of-> recovery to out of box state then the recovery would create exactly the same size of partition on the new SSD which were available on the 320 GB HARD drive.
I think this might be the reason why you have received this message.

Perhaps you need to choose the 3rd option Recovery on a custom size partition

    What do you think?

  • Satellite M70 - 159-> update bios-> DVD ROM missing

    Hello
    I have the Satellite M70-159, PSM71E
I made the big mistake, please help and suggestions are welcome.

    History:
I installed Windows XP home sp2
A few days ago I tried to update my hardware drivers (last attempt was a few years ago) and the BIOS too.
So, first of all, I decided to update the bios of 1.30 to 1.50
-bios150win has been downloaded and install completely and it works very well. But since then, that my laptop doesn't see DVD - ROM - it disappeared at all.
WindowsXP says - no CD/DVD-ROM in your stack of material, and I can't boot from bootable CD/DVD drive.

I tried to downgrade the BIOS to 1.30 but the f * ng tool shows me a message that I have more new bios and I do not need to downgrade.
Hey! Toshiba! Please, give me a chance! Just remove your Bios update a few lines of code! Do not check the version of the bios.

PPL! Please help. Because now I can't reinstall OS, I can't burn, I can't get my data, I can't do anything.

    Thank you
    MIMO

Thanks for the info, but could you please post how you solved this?

Need of WXP AHCI Driver for my Satellite L500d-159

    Thank you

    Hello

Satellite L500d-159 seems to belong to the series of PSLT9E.
European driver Toshiba page provides all the drivers Win XP!

The laptop supports an ATI graphics chip and the graphics card driver contains the SATA/AHCI driver as well.

Then download the graphics of the page of the European driver Toshiba driver.
In the package, you will find only the exe file run this exe file after the package was extracted, you will have to go to the SBDrv\SATA folder
You will find the .inf file that is a SATA driver!

  • Satellite A100-159 and Motorola Bluetooth Headset HS815

    Hello
I can not connect the headset bluetooth Motorola HS815 portable satellite A100-159.
I disable MS bluetooth and installed the latest Toshiba Bluetooth Stack V4.00.36.
It's my internal bluetooth device from toshiba:
    077B = "internal Bluetooth CSR (19.2) v2.0 EDR.

    (1) I turn on the headset HS815
    (2) the Bluetooth manager sees a device, opening a pop-up windows where says "authentication failed", indicates the MAC ADDRESS of the helmet and ask me for the PIN.
    (3) I type in the PIN code "0000" default, but nothing happens!
    the HS815 is not connected,
the Bluetooth Manager doesn't list any any device.

    It is:
This Motorola HS815 headset is compatible with the bluetooth Satellite A100-159 card?

    Thanks a million in advance
    Filippo

The error message indicates that something was wrong during the pairing process.
This is silly, but important questions.
Are you sure you have connected your headset and no other in the range? Really, the PIN is "0000" and you tyed in properly (maybe caps lock was on to your keyboard and something else has in fact been registered)?
Delete all pairing if it exists, and then try again.

  • Touchpad freezes / cursor disappears on Windows 8.1

    I have a Ultrabook from Split x 2 HP I bought a week ago.

I've upgraded to 8.1 Windows recently. I noticed that my touchpad freezes and my cursor doesn't work anymore, no matter how many times I click or try to revive. If I start using the touch screen, the cursor disappears completely and does not return. Happen completely randomly - sometimes every two hours, sometimes more than once per hour. It has nothing to do with the number of channels I open or how many times I use it.
I go to Device Manager to control the mouse pointer, and it says that the device is functioning properly. It shows also all the updates have been installed.
Sometimes it lasts only 10 to 15 seconds, other times I have to close my computer and wait 30 seconds before you open it, and then the mouse will reappear.
The driver is dated 23/08/2013 and the version is 17.0.2.24
Just in case, here is the information on my computer:
    Intel Core i5-4202Y 1.60 GHz
    4.00 GB RAM
    64-bit operating system

    It worked for me.

Go to the Generic USB (two of them) hub in Device Manager.

Go to the power management tab

Uncheck the box allowing the computer to turn off this device to save power.

    Turn it back on.

My touchpad stopped everything by searching for a solution. I have 'unchecked' boxes and the touchpad are back to life before the reboot. He has worked since then. (three days)

  • [SOLVED] Satellite L300 wireless dead, suddenly stop, then won't power ON

Well, actually, that this post is NOT a question that I already found the solution, but it took me much time searching through forums (and in fact I had not found response), so I decided to post it here to help someone in the same situation later.

Ok.. I'm all new Satellite L300 laptop a week ago, which runs under WinXP SP2. First five days, everything was OK, but then I confronted the following symptoms:

-Material Wi - fi could disappear suddenly. After the restart, winXP found the map of wireless as a new device, but could not accept pilots (who has worked on OK again a few hours before).
-Notebook could stop 'tough' at any time and it is not in the CPU load. After that I could not turn on again than by pressing the power button only turned on CPU cooler. I had to wait for at least 30 min power turn on the laptop again.

So, I started to search the forums, and as a result, I was sure the reason was overheating of the CPU to 115.337%. It was strange for me that I could not find similar reports for satellite L300 on the web and even all dust cpu overheating reports for other models Toshiba II found - they all have been written on popular laptops, but I got mine just a week ago.

Since I didn't bring my laptop to the local service center and leave it there for a long time - I decided to locate the problem myself as much as I can and I finally found the reason:

    * He was one of the two Samsung modules of 1 GB of RAM installed in notebook.*

As I removed a suspect (2nd) - all symptoms have disappeared. As I removed another installed back suspicious as 1st - I even haven't been able to turn on the laptop. So, I deleted completely suspicious module and now I had no problem with laptop computers running more than 2 days (except the performance decreased due to the loss of memory of 50%).

Hope this is helpful to someone who has a similar problem whose symptoms may resemble the overheating of the CPU.

Really great job and a very nice display!

I have a Satellite L300 too but never had any problems with it. I'll put this in my favorites because it s very useful for people who have this problem.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite A500 - problem with Touchpad (or OS?)

    Hi all

I had my laptop on standby (Windows Media Center on the bottom) and when I opened the screen upward, the touchpad did not work, as follows:

    * On the desktop: the cursor is moved on the screen as usual tap or left click does nothing until you right-click, and then click product left/tap menu options (i.e. 'right click' normal function), right click then creates a "selection box" instead of raise of menu options, toolbar does not reveal of "" when the cursor is moved to that area the desktop icons "highlight" no selection when the cursor passes over them.

In programs: no buttons/links highlighted when hovered over (even the maximize/reduce/close buttons etc.), Windows button reveals the toolbar (not the start menu), Alt & Tab does not work to switch between screens.

Bar tools reveal (moving the cursor on board) and click right doesn't work at all, even when the touchpad seems to work fine otherwise.

Right-click seems actually trigger it, or cancel (but usual functions do a right click and reveal the toolbar still do not work). For example if I have Alt & Tab (functional at the moment!) at the library, I see the cursor like usual, but I need to right click to get it to be able to click left button; then, when I Alt & Tab to return to the screen, I need to right click again to get a left click to work (and then right-click right tricks it off once again, did NOT appear a menu options)...

The laptop is less than a month and I have had no other issues so far. Running Windows 7. Tried to restart, touchpad turning on / off power etc. I thought that it was originally a touchpad problem, but with the Windows key does not open the start menu, I was wondering if it was a problem of OS...

Very confusing - I hope that all makes sense. Thanks in advance to anyone who knows what could happen here! See you soon.

EDIT: I also tried to enter in the mouse properties and update the settings of the device for each button/tap (they were all correct though). It didn't work, and I noticed that the only thing that will allow the buttons to work on each screen is to right click, which seems to enable the touchpad, but then as mentioned above, when I right click again, it just turns off. I need to be able to use option etc. menus popping up with a right-click...

    Hello

I think that you can easily locate the reason for this problem: you only need an external mouse. They are very good markets nowadays and if it works properly it s is not a problem of your operating system. In the worst cases, this means that the touch pad has to be exchanged but as a result, you can contact an authorized service provider. They can order a new and exchange it, this should be covered by the warranty if your mobile phone is only a month.

In addition before contacting an ASP you could try updating the driver for the touchpad. You can get it here:
