Satellite L750 - loss of image on screen laptop and external to minitor

No apparent reason, I have known a sudden loss of the image while working on my external monitor and a laptop L750 screen. The only solution seems to be to turn the computer off and then again, with the likely loss of recent work. Technical advice from Toshiba is the mode "Eve" in power to "never" options
Presumably, this removes the possibility of invoking sleep manually via the Start button.

Others are experiencing this problem?

On my machine, I have the same settings, but sleep option is always available. Power management settings generally have nothing to do with it.

You can switch mode keys FN sleep?

By the way: is everything is OK with screen and display? Can you work with both of them again?

Tried to check for update nVidia drivers in Control Panel configuration, but Windows says I have the latest version.

No idea how I can solve this because it is very annoying.

How can you solve this problem?
As a first step, you should check what is may be defective. I'm 100% sure that it has nothing to do with the drivers.
What you can do is to connect the external monitor to your laptop and check if the same will be on screen. I guess not so in my opinion, your display is faulty and must be replaced.

  • Satellite L750 - loss of function key FN

Toshiba laptop Satellite L750, Win Home Premium Sp1. FN key no longer brings up the bar at the top of the display function. Toshiba VAP is installed.

Start / all EGP/Toshiba/Utilities/Flash Cards active function ok keys but does not work after a reboot. So, does that mean flash cards is not enabled at startup? Don't know how long it took place, but I know that it worked initially. At this point, I did a "clean boot", don't know if this has anything to do with this minor problem.

Apart from this, the computer works great! Any ideas appreciated.
    Mrpringle

    Well, uninstall the VAP system.
Reboot the laptop and install CCLeaner (freeware)
    Reboot once more.
Now run CCLeaner and clean the registry.
    Reboot once more.
    Download and install the VAP
    Reset
    Test the FN keys

  • Is satellite L350-170 - possible to use the laptop as external monitor

Ok... So I broke the other day to the top of my screen on my laptop, and was amazing, if it is possible to use another laptop as an external monitor.

while I put my files on an external hard drive

or isit only possible connection to the pc?

    Hello

It would be possible to use the second laptop as an external display ONLY if the computer a laptop would support the video port line-in to the receipt of the video signal.

But the most common books supports the only video out s-Video port or a vga port, and in this case, you will not be able to use the laptop as a second monitor external.

For example, the Satellite L350-170 supports only the RGB port that allow you to connect this laptop to external monitor but you can not use this laptop as compensation for external monitor.

  • Satellite L750-1NF - I want to remove ODD and put the new SSD

    Hello everyone.

    I'm new here!

I have this laptop and I want to improve it with SSD.
I want to remove the optical drive and buy a mount for SSD. But I don't know with mount I can buy.

I see [this | http://www.amazon.com/Silverstone-Tek-2-5-Inch-Conversion-TS08/dp/B00AFP89F8] but I'm not if it fits.

    Can anyone help please?

    Thank you very much.

This isn t possible upgrade for all laptops available on the market.
I know some laptops Toshiba supported Bay select option in the past.

This was the case for certain series Portege and Tecra but my knowledge, don t support Satellite notebooks these updates.
Of course, I could be wrong but I think the BIOS won't recognize the device.

If you want to use a SSD drive, you will need to replace the internal HARD drive.

  • Satellite 1410-604: I lost the screen saver and power management system

I have a Satellite 1410-604. I lost my screensaver and cannot access the Toshiba power management system: I click and nothing happens. I saw a suggestion to run the system restore. When I go to system restore it says it is running, but is there something more specific that I can do?

    Thank you!

I put t know what you did with your operating system, but more often if the system restore option enabled, then it shouldn't be a problem to restore the operating system to the beginning
Simply, start the system restore and choose the starting point that was automatically created.

  • Reset the workspace when switching between laptop and external monitor

Is there a way to have my work space reset itself (or better yet change between two workspaces) when I pass between my laptop and my external monitor to my office. Adobe likes to crush my workspace in a sea of useless, mutilated pallets when I leave my office. There at least had the kindness to put it when I get back.

I realize I can manually reset and I even put in place a combination of keys, but I don't see why he can't do it on its own. Or better yet, stop blend it upward in the first place.

Unfortunately, I think it's an OS and PS reacts only to have to resize it to another monitor.

  • Updating BIOS for Satellite L750 Pro still on black screen

    Hello

Ports, VGA, HDMI, USB and ethernet on one side of my laptop didn't work at all.
I rang the Toshiba warranty number and instructed to update the bios.

It restarts right away and came to the Windows login screen and I entered my password.
After that, the screen is all black.

It has been like that for 45 min.
    How long should it take?

The light that indicates the disk activity hard flashed occasionally.
How long I should wait and what should I do?

    Thank you

    Hello

I think 45 minutes is too long, I think that there is something wrong.
The last time I updated the BIOS on my Tecra unit and it took 2-3 min, but certainly not any longer.

Maybe, you should power off the unit and it should restart once more.

    Good luck

I have read similar problems in the forum and this is a common problem with Toshiba? I have spend £1500 on this and it is only 3 years old. My friends have older laptops of this almost 6 years old and in good working condition.
Y at - it a suggestion for this problem or a solution? The heat on the basis of the laptop is really hot and it's like that for centuries.

Any help is really appreciated after spending so much like to last longer or it is a problem of reliability with the Toshiba brand.

    Hi vns.

Hmm strange. I have ever read on these issues here in the forum with Satellite P100. Friend of me has the same model and it s still does work correctly, no problems at all.

Do you have the same vertical lines on a screen? If so, it is certainly associated with the internal graphics card and not watch.
By the way: you have the same problem in the BIOS or just Windows?

With regard to the heat on the underside: I think that it s time to clean it and remove dust. You can do this using the jet of compressed air to blow the dust from the cooling fans. That's why it of not necessary to disassemble your laptop.

In my view it's hard to say what's wrong here.
You said that if you connect the external monitor, the display is OK means (in my opinion) than the motherboard and graphics card should be ok.
