Satellite L750 slows after plugging in the power supply

Hello everyone

It's almost a year since I have TOSHIBA L750-12 model q PSK2YE-05P00RPL.
Since the beginning, I noticed strange shares: when the battery becomes low at 10% and I plug the power supply everything starts to work slowly (for example I can see frames when using the webcam)
also, web sites load very slowly or not at all. It's doing my work on laptop almost impossible.
When this problem occurs, there are a few bugs in Event Viewer:

Event 37, kernel-processor-Power
"The speed of the CPU 0 in group 0 is restricted by the system firmware. The processor is in this state of reduced performance for 71 seconds since the last report. »

I thought it was the power supply problem or motherboard to power so I sent the laptop to the service. Technical support only changed the BIOS to version 3.60 [there is not an another atm version] and he has not solved anything.
I searched the internet and I found that this failure can occur because of the Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology option, but unfortunately I can not disable it in the BIOS.

I read that there was problem simillar with for example Portege R835-P84 and new BIOS helped and solved this.

Please help :(

PS Sorry for my English.

I also imagine that new and modified BIOS can help with this, but if Toshiba doesn't offer it there is nothing you can do, especially with the SpeedStep technology options.

Maybe stupid question now, but when you connect the battery change the plan power high performance is a laptop s performance difference?

  • Satellite Pro 480cdt: how to replace the power supply and memory?

I broke the tip of the power where it goes to the back of the computer. The two pins came away from the cable. What is the size of the plug round I am looking for as a replacement? Assume that there is a standard fitting of Toshiba.

The right size to upgrade as the memory is 128 MB. He got 64 MB it's 2 x 32 MB. I guess we're soldered in, but I can remove the other 32 MB and put the 128.

    Are these modules memory square-shaped?
Finally, a link to the service manual would be very helpful.

    Thanks in advance.

It's really an old unit and it is not easy to find a lot of information. I found the info that this device can use 160MO max. Module of RAM compatible RAM are:

    48 MB PA2041U
    128 MB PA2042U

    Hello

My companion has a Toshiba Satellite C650-1CP and her children have been tinkering with the supply cable and crunched the large connector - as you do :)

He also thinks that they may have damaged the internal connector that plugs into the power supply.

    Couple of questions please.

    1. If the connections are faulty on the laptop - is all the same replace this? and if it can be done easily (by myself) or would I need to return the unit to Toshiba to be fixed?

    2. is there anyway to test on the laptop power connectors? -Is there no power to the laptop at all now.

4 would be this adapter old M50 is compatible with its new C650? or is it interesting to buy a new power supply for the C650 and try this 1st to see if it will power (seen for about £12). Think the best way to repair because I presume that if the power supply inside the laptop but then it would cost a quid to fix.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

The outlet is normally on the main Board in the computer, you might be able to fix (welding), but probably not.
    Too expensive to replace.

    > 2. Is all the same test on the laptop power connectors? -Is there no power to the laptop at all now.

Yes, if the laptop is charging with a correct charger, it works.

    > 3. He's got an old Toshiba Satellite Pro M50 - PSM55E-001001EN and tried to power the laptop with this power supply but no luck (does not connect properly) - on the rise

Not really a question but if the PSU outputs the same voltage and amperage similar or higher and a compatible, it should work.

If it is not compatible (read the answer #3), then you should try to see if you can get a universal.

    Hello

This means that your mobile doesn t boot with AC/DC adapter and AC/DC adapter too?
    Really strange what s

Have you tried to remove the battery and the AC adapter? If you remove the two you should an hour and then reconnect the two. Maybe it will work.

If this isn't the case, it seems to be a hardware problem. You must contact an authorized service provider, you can give them a call to speak to a technician.

  • Satellite Pro U400 freezes sometimes when the power cord is plugged

Hello! I know that this problem has been addressed here and there, but I'd like to open a new thread about it. Here's the scenario.

I recently bought a new Toshiba Satellite Pro U400-247 (PSU45E) with two batteries: (a) the original, (b) in addition purchased authentic of Toshiba PA3636U-1BRL, 7200 mAh. The laptop has the latest BIOS (4.80) and the latest drivers downloaded from Toshiba and installed (ConfigFree is not installed). I use XP Pro SP3 (own installation by myself). Everything works fine, except for one thing:

Sometimes (but), when the laptop is running on battery power and I plug in the power cord, everything hangs and I have to restart. A few observations:

    It tends to occur more frequently when the low battery alarm has rung;
    (b) it seems to happen more frequently with the 7200 mAh battery and less frequently with the original battery.
    (c) it seems to happen most often when a USB device (mouse, for example) has been linked to the laptop, but it is not a rule;
    (d) it seems to happen less often when I move the mouse USB at the time wherever I am connect the power cord.
    (e) I've experimented a lot with Toshiba PowerSaver settings (for example to change the levels of CPU for my profile) but nothing I changed seems to change the situation.
    (f) I tried different suggestions I found on various forums, but nothing works (for example the BIOS settings);
    (g) otherwise, I can say that I have not really seen a smoother computer, everything works really fine, no other problem :)

Everything that makes me think it must be some sort of bug in the drivers of motherboard driver PowerSaver or other drivers interact with battery, CPU or possibly USB. Y at - it an explanation to this problem and can it be rectified in some way (for example, by providing a driver update)?

    Hello

First of all, I never heard a driver from the motherboard.
There is a drive chipset or a graphics card driver. There is no such thing as a driver of the motherboard!

Look, man. laptop should work fine even the AC adapter is connected or not connected
If the laptop freezes while there might be a software problem, but in my opinion it could be hardware problem
You must reinstall the operating system if the laptop would freeze always the issue might be related to hardware

First of all the memory modules and AC adapter must be verified.
If the problem persists even using new modules and AC adapter, motherboard may be affected.

  • MS A30 - battery charging when I plug in the power cable

    Hello

I'm having some problems with (I think) on my A30 power management utility. When I am running on battery power and I plug in the power cable, the battery continues to discharge even if the laptop 'knows' that it runs on the power grid (ie the utility says "current generator: alternating current.") "Online, discharges: 82%. Strangely, if I put the laptop in mode 'sleep', then resume, she goes back to normal (i.e. working on current alternative, the battery charges).

It is true, I think that this began after I installed "PC Pitstop optimize Scan" www.pcpitstop.com (please, not conferences - I used a couple of their public services before and they were very good, so I thought it would be too much), so I guess it's some sort of configuration problem, but I have no idea where to go from here. I went through all the options on the power management utility, but they all look sensitive. Any ideas (other than do not install software stupid, doubtful)?

    Kenny

    Hi Kenny,

I experienced this behavior on my A30 where the system says it works on current alternative, but still drains the battery and stops eventually.

In my case the problem has proved to be a loose DC Jack that sometimes cuts off contact with the socket on the back of the laptop. This momentary loss of power DC seems to provoke the power management utility switch to battery power, even though the DC power is restored. The only way out of this situation is to Hibernate / restarting the laptop.

I think that it is a problem with the power supply subsystem in the laptop that does not react properly when it encounters a momentary loss of DC. Then the Toshiba power management utility is no longer responds correctly and switches to the battery power.

My only solution to this was to anchor the DC cable to the back of my A30 so that there is now no chance of the plug DC moving in its socket. This has proved to be very effective for my A30 and I've had no recurrence of the problem.

  • Satellite A30 213: broken in the power supply pin

I have so many problems with this.
I'd rather put it in the trash than to fix it, but unfortunately I have important documents that I have not saved.

Basically, the PIN into the Jack of the laptop is broken and I can't be able to my laptop and my battery is running out of power

    The battery is in the battery-compatible A30 - 213 in the A30 714?

    And someone has other solutions?

Please answer as soon as possible

    Hello

First of all a few words about the battery.
If I m not wrong not the Satellite A30 213 uses the same battery as the A30-714.
Therefore, you should be able to use the same battery in both units A30.

With regard to the question on another solution.
Well, there is only one real solution. The power supply needs to be replaced.
I m not sure if it s only plugged or soldered on the map. However, I recommend you contact the ASP in your country for assistance.
This should be always replaced by a mobile technician because the dismantling procedure is very delicate and difficult.

    Best regards and good luck

  • Satellite A500 - battery light flashes when connected to the power supply

    Win 7 Satellite A500 PSAM3A-03P00E.

Battery light flashes when connected to the power supply (intermittent fault), when I disconnect the sector and reconnect the flashing stops and battery (high capacity) continues to receive.

Also, when battery light blinks the keyboard backlight stays on when it should white and if the backlight is turned off and the battery light starts to blink the keyboard backlight turns on, all other functions seem to work well.

Charges of battery and the wedges load properly (when the battery flashes).

    Hello

Have you noticed this problem since the first day of purchase?
Theoretically, it could be possible that your battery begins to malfunction
On the other hand, an electrical problem could also be possible

    However, try this:
Remove the battery and the AC adapter. Then press and hold button power 30 sec long.
Then insert the battery and plug AC adapter still does that help?

By the way: this is the BIOS updated? If this isn't the case, perform an update.
