Satellite L755-11J battery low charge question

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite L755-11J for nearly three years.

It is now stated the battery down and to replace.

What is the average time that the battery lasts? Understand that they take some time, but seems a little earlier.

Looking for a replacement online through Toshiba but can't seem to see it.

Thank you.

> What is the average time that the battery lasts?
To my knowledge, the common battery would have started loos performance around after 500 cycles of carbonization.

However, to keep the battery performance the longer possible, you need to calibrate the battery from time to time. The battery should be completely discharged and then recharged until the battery indicator should appear green (or blue).
This process must be repeated 2.3 times in the line.

  • Satellite L755-11j - cooling fan seems to have stopped working

    Hello

I have the model Satellite L755-11j and I'm really happy with it, strong, fast and reliable, I have only one problem: my cooling fan seems to have stopped working.

I don't know if it's a hardware or software (BIOS is set to dynamic switch, and in the power management is set to 'Active') delivers, because I come from Croatia, diagnostic PC is incredibly overpriced here and I can replace the fan on my own.

I want to just make sure I don't buy new cooling fan and my problem persists. Install speedfan and Toshiba PC health monitor only confirmed what I suspected, my laptop gets hot.

I bought the external cooling fan to help keep the temperature of my laptop down, but with the coming of the summer that I really want to solve this problem.

To be honest, it is not easy to help you with this. Is that cooling fan works automatically and there is not a special option where you can control. Only thing you can change is the cooling method option that you can find in the advanced power options > Toshiba power saver.

Check it please what option is set to on. Of course on this virtual path, it is not easy to tell if the cooling fan is defective or not.
It works or not? Can you notice hot air flow when you put your hand on the cooling grill placed on the left side of your laptop?

  • Satellite Pro A100: Battery not charging

    Hello

I wonder if anyone can help. I have the laptop above and just before the warranty run out, I had a problem with the power cable because it would not require the laptop and would also make a funny type of sparking sound.

I sent it to Toshiba who could not find any problem with him (he did only occasionally - usually after using it for an hour or two) and the laptop returned me which worked well.

Shortly after the warranty missed, I had another problem with the power. The laptop battery is dead and the power cable would not charge the battery at all. When the laptop is connected or not connected, the only light I get when you press the power button is the orange flashing light telling me that the battery has no charge.

So I bought a new power cable thinking it would fix the problem, to find that this was not the case and the laptop would not even charge.

I Dove and bought a new battery hoping that was what was causing the problem, only discover that even once the battery was not at fault either.

If someone had a similar problem or know someone how / repair shop what to do to solve this problem without having to spend a fortune on take it to a PC? After calling trick a couple where I live, they said they would only do what I did - change battery and charger - and if that did not fix then told me to buy a new laptop.

    Help, please!

    Hello

Sorry for this news but this question looks very bad.
First of all my first thought was a battery defective, but according to your message, we can exclude this possibility

Everything looks like a malfunction of the card mother:(bien sûr ce n'est qu'une suggestion, mais si l'adaptateur est ok et la nouvelle batterie doesn t trop puis une panne de carte mère est possible.)

I think that there is not much to do. First, you must be 100% sure of the breakdown. Verification of the laptop is so necessary and inevitable to see what's exactly wrong.
That's why I really would recommend contacting an ASP and ask for details and additional handling.

But be aware that the exchange of the mobo is a costly affair because the motherboard is one of the parts expensive notebooks. Lets hope you n t need to replace it

    Good luck

  • Satellite P30-130: battery stops charging

Problem with my power/charge on my laptop.

Intermittently, when you use the AC adapter to charge the battery, the battery may charge for a time (with bright amber LED) and then (after no moment) the amber light will come out and stop loading. When this happens looking at the battery icon in the desktop tray shows the laptop running on battery power, even if power supply is still attached.

Move the power AC jack in the back of the laptop making makes no difference. It's almost as if the laptop is not recognizing that the AC adapter / CC is there.

To add to the confusion, if I use Notepad on the only current (ie remove the battery completely), the power to randomly stop. It is also intermittent and occurs even if the laptop is not in use.

I checked the power meter settings, and I have the drivers for toshiba utilities to save energy. I also replaced the power supply and the battery.

    Any ideas?

    Hello Chris

All that you have done is just but the next step is to control the electronic power to the motherboard. Problem is that you can not do it alone, and it must be done by technicians.

Please contact the customer Service of your country partner and explain the situation. They have the equipment to control the electronic food placed on the motherboard.

  • Satellite P850 32Z: battery not charging

Recently, I had problems with the battery, which means that I need to plug my AC adapter all the time. The battery in the taskbar icon indicates that the battery is 68% and these last days. Placing the cursor on the icon says "plugged in, not charging", and the battery on the laptop light does not illuminate. If I unplug the AC adapter, the laptop shuts down completely.

I also tried the cold reset following instructions (from the section "Solving a problem" to support)
    1. power off your laptop and unplug the AC adapter
    2. remove the battery from the PC (for models with semi-fixed battery, please follow these instructions)
    3. press the button power for 30 seconds.
    4. then, plug in the adapter without the battery, turn on your computer and start Windows normally
    5. wait 5 min. and then replace the battery on while your laptop is turned on

In step 4, when I turned on the laptop, the laptop starts and the battery light is on. But then after a few seconds, the battery light turns off and the laptop turns off.

    Someone had this problem?

I have the same question. I bought a new battery. It worked for about 1 hour from 67 percent and amounting to 100% and then my laptop just died. Now my old battery indicates 0%, no charge, my new battery says 0%, 8 minutes at full load. So I'm a little confused about this and don't know if it's only a battery error. I'm going to service this week, so I know what the problem. I have the Satellite P850 - 33 m

  • Satellite Pro L20: battery not charge when the power adapter is connected

    Hello

    all advice appreciated.

I had a Satellite Pro L20 for about 18 months. Recently, battery does not charge when the power adapter is connected. The battery light starts yellow (which means more liberated, I think?), then will both green, the machine sat for awhile. However the ACPI often said that AC is "offline."

There are two recent occurrences that coincide with this problem, I try to eliminate:

    1. my friends rat chewed by the feeder for pets! Power is Mobile OK insofar as he fled sector - the rat seems to have simply chewed by the outer cover (I see some threads, but I think that is just a shield, although I'm not an electrician).

    2. I put the laptop in hibernation for the first time. That seemed to mess up the system a bit, which was what initially drew my attention to the problem. This question is a bit complicated because I'm under Linux (Xubuntu).

I updated the drivers etc from windows when I bought the laptop. Never had any problems until now and have been running linux for centuries. Also, I have mainly the laptop the power supply turned off, but do not remove the battery (is that really a problem these days?)

I obviously need to replace the adapter, but is - it is likely (and how I can check) that the battery was borked until?

    see you soon
    Chris

First, please check if the other are lit.
If the AC led and power led are on the adapter sector is ok and it provides the power to the laptop.

    > The battery light starts yellow (which means more liberated, I think?), then will both green, the machine sat for awhile
If the battery LED is yellow, this means that the battery is not fully charged and if the Green led changes then recharging is caught and the battery has been recharged.

So I really don t see any problems with the charge process.

Maybe the battery is old and so you cannot use it for an extended in such a case only the replacement of the battery could help.

    Sorry for the bad English

    Hi Rainer

Your English is very difficult to understand, but I understand that you have problems with your battery.
If you re not able to cherif battery so possibly the power supply is out of life.

You write that your battery has worked for about 1.5 years. You know that it s able to charge and discharge the battery for about 500 times and after this period (1.5 to 2 years) the battery will discharge performance and the news is necessary.

This news also knew not to me but after reading in the user manuals and field on some notebooks sites survey I m now a specialist battery ;) lol.
Similar issues can occur for example with mobile phone batteries.

I don t think that your laptop is affected by the battery Exchange program but of course, you can check the number.

However, I suggest to replace the battery and check if it works.

Hello and greetings from ith Italy ;)

  • Satellite M70-340: battery not charge when AC is branch

    Hello world

Well, my problem is that I just bought a Toshiba Satellite M70-340 and used only for 2 days, but I have problems with my battery.

The battery does not seem to load. When I plug in the charger, the battery indicator turns on but the windows loading indicator is constantly at 0%. When I unplug the charger after awhile the laptop immediately turns off.

I noticed today morning problem, but the incident in question just as I remember it's the charger fell yesterday from a distance of about 50cm in height on a floor tiled. I don't know if this could affect it or not.

The only changes that I made to the software are also updated Microsoft Windows & Office.

Kindly help me knowing the cause of the problem and the solution that he.

    Concerning

    HELLO Faiz,

If your laptop works when the power adapter is plugged it works correctly. The THST is that the battery does not load can indicate a problem with the battery or the electronics in the laptop. However, I would first check very carefully that the battery is correctly installed and that there is no insulating plastic part that prevents the battery contacts to connect properly.
If everything looks well then you laptop is covered by warranty Toshiba and I would say that your outlet or send it to your provider to be extracted.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite A60 - laptop battery not charge/work

    Hello

My stop laptop when you use the battery power. It will not re-start until I plugged in to the power supply. Every time I disconnected power laptop would shutdown. laptop does not work on batteries, no lights are working.
When it is plugged seeing orange lights. Battery remains 90% fresh even after hours on departure av! I suggest that I can't use the battery power and the battery won't charge.
Only a new battery in a month and has worked well up until now.

I tried toshiba control energy saver but made no difference.

I can't say with certainty if this happens because of the battery or something. In my opinion, it can be either battery or electronic power supply.
Satellite A60's old laptop and everything is possible.

Pre-installed software doesn t have a any influence on this. Toshiba power saver is preinstalled to consumption, Manager, with other words to help reduce battery power consumption and longer battery.

  • Satellite M70-340 battery not charging

I had a problem with a Toshiba Satellite M70 - 340 portable hard drive, but everything else worked perfectly, and it was possible to operate on battery power. So I sent it to a maintenance shop where they changed the hard drive and installed a fresh new copy of Windows XP. Once I got it I found that I am not able to turn it back on, except when it is connected to electricity and after a little or looking around, I found out that the battery is not.

In addition to this, when I plug first laptop for electricity while it is turned off, the yellow/orange battery LED lights only for like 3 seconds. And even if it is activated, the led is still off, and the the battery icon on the status bar indicates that the laptop works on AC and does not say that the battery charge, he repeats to me 1%.

I also tried leaving it plugged to AC while it is off, hoping he can recharge, but I bite the dust.

So what would cause the battery won't charge if from one day to another (and just by changing the HARD drive and install a fresh copy of windows XP), the battery has stopped working?

And I was just wondering is an update of the BIOS or your driver fix? I want to say a battery need some kind of driver or software to run?

    Thank you

    Hello Zaher

I have Satellite M70-159 and issue described is not known to me. If you are sure that this strange issue started after get it back you with 100% service I recommend you speak again with technicians.

Behavior described is not really normal. As much I know BIOS update or drivers have no influence on it and to me it sounds like a malfunction of the equipment.

BTW: remove the battery, connect the laptop to the power adapter and start Notepad. When the operating system starts correctly, wait a few minutes and put the battery in the laptop. Please let know us what happens when you do this.

  • Satellite L30 - 14F - battery low CMOS and delivers after BIOS update

    For 1.5 years, I have a Toshiba Satellite L40 - 14F PSL4CE.
I encounter the error of CMOS LOW battery but I was unable to find to replace. Where he is?

Second problem: after a BIOS update (version of the site) with the same setting in Windows XP, after I left the lid downwards and then save the workbook hesitates for about 2 seconds and the music stops. These problems were not present before the BIOS update.

    Thank you for the cooperation.

    Hello

The BIOS battery can be replaced by only authorized service. to do this the laptop everything must be dismantled. By the way: see s operating manuals. You will find info how to load the BIOS battery.
If I remember correctly the laptop must be connected to the adapter sector more than 48 hours. Check in the manuals.

Maybe is my bad English, but I do not understand second problem.
Can you please try to explain it again? I'm sorry.

  • Satellite C855-18J-battery low after only 9 months

    Hi all

I bought my C855-18J Satellite in October, there is, so just 9 months, and since last night, I get the message to consider changing my battery! I've never seen a battery that doesn't last even a year... How is that possible? and if I want a new one it's more expensive than 100dollars (excluding P & P)...

They are now on low batteries?

It is my first Toshiba computer (used from other brands before).

    > I've never seen a battery that doesn't last even a year... How is that possible?
    Possible is everything

    > and if I want a new one, it is more expensive than 100dollars (excluding P & P)...
As far as I know the laptop is covered by the standard warranty that is valid 12 months.
Then why you n t contact your dealer or a service of Toshiba and ask the new part/difficulty under conditions of warranty?

In my eyes without any doubt the best solution here
