Satellite L770D - 10 d - the processor upgrade

I have SATELLITE L770D - 10 d with AMD A4 - 3300M and I would like to upgrade the processor to for example A8 - 3500M, since they have the same socket and TDP. I have the Toshiba support pages, but I couldn't find an answer.

This is because toshiba usually does not support updates to their laptops and if they do its own risk

the only way to know if it works is to screw open the laptop and see if the cpu is not soldered to the motherboard
If that's your out of luck and the custom then able to switch on the cpu

If not then u check if the motherboard support is the same as the new A8 - 3500 m

If it's the same thing then u go to the step following and demand for the bios - mods.com if your BIOS has the required firmware for this cpu

then IF that is okey then you will be able to replace the cpu

remind u this will require you to disassemble almost all computer laptop and high risk damage to your product if it is not done right
so, if you don't have any COMPUTER knowledge id suggest u not not for this

This time did so with L500-1ZP, which came with an i3 330 m and upgraded to an i7 620 m still solid

I own a X 200 satellite and me have been thinking about upgrading my processor, actually a T5450 (really bad).

    (1) is it possible?
    (2) what chipset, socket is compatible with the processor T5450?

    Thank you

    Hello

    > 1) is it possible?

In General, the laptop is not designed for Cpu and Gpu improved but only for memory and hard drive.

(> 2) what chipset, socket is compatible with the processor T5450?

According to the website of intel:

    http://Ark.Intel.com/product.aspx?ID=30787 support for Sockets PPGA478

Note, the Bios must also support a new processor, otherwise, it is useless. I don't know if your Bios can support these updates have not all the technical documentation for your model

  • Re: Satellite 2430 402: the processor upgrade possible?

    Hello world

    I have a Satellite 2430 402 with P4 2.53 GHz.
Is it possible to change the processor of a more recent/fast (up to 3.4 GHz)?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

Maybe an other old Intel P4 CPU would work, but you will not be able to upgrade and use newer processors.
Furthermore a stronger CPU would create more heat dissipation and this would lead to a temperature more high which could affect the functionality of the laptop.

So even if a new CPU would be recognized correctly by the BIOS, it might affect the functionality of the laptop.

    Welcome them

    Hello!

I just bought my Satellite P300 - 27 X, but I discovered, that the processor is a bit slow... so now I'm looking at upgrading processor... I was looking at the dual-core intel P8700, P9500 or maybe T9300 (I generate 10W more heat)? ....

Now, I would like to ask if its possible to upgrade processors written with? I have the same GM45 and socket BGA479... But the tension is differerent on these procesors....

    How to change that?

Do I have to put the new bios-is there?
What heat? I have the dissipaton of heat current OK for 2, 5 GHz processor?

I think CPU on your Satellite has enough power for all operations you need. To increase the performance of laptops, increase the RAM. As I see it can be upgraded to 8 GB.

    Hello

In General, the CPU upgrade is not supported. Please consult this document: http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/FAQ7A01ZW0007R01.htm
In my opinion, you should RAM to max level and optimize the operating system.
Believe me the CPU of your laptop is enough power for all operations.

  • Satellite A505-S6973 and the OS upgrade

Users of computers laptop toshiba colleagues,.

I'm here tonight to find out, my laptop has touchpad buttons and quickplay and wondering if I should upgrade my pc to Windows 7 I was able to use all these features (more eco and pc health monitor utility).

I ask this because currently my pc has, which is supposed to be a hard disk of 500 GB, 317 GB of available hard disk space, but I barely information or documents stored on my system. I understand I have programs installed, but still for this amount.

So, long story short, if I had to remove and install the Windows 7 operating system, and I installed the toshibha value added utility programs package and eco, that would be all I need to dload and install because I love this pc.

Also can anyone with a Toshiba Satellite A505-S6973 tell me if they can smell it the breeze coming out of their laptop because my fan seems to blow slowly and always higher, the temperature on my system is currently 90% and 64% CPU TEMPERATURE FAN SPEED and I HAV my system set up to use low power.

I enjoyed all the comments, suggestions and advice...

I don't have a US mobile phone model and can't answer your second question, but I know with certainty that Win7 works well on the Satellite A500.
Two months ago, I had the Satellite A500 friends home. Initially, it was pre-installed with Vista.
I did two experiments to see how it works with Win7. First I updated it with the Toshiba upgrade kit and everything was OK.
With the new installation of the OS, everything was OK also.

Before Win7 installation please check Toshiba support page to make sure what version is fully supported. Here in Europe only Win7 64 bit is completely compatible.

  • The processor upgrade help

I have a HP Pavilion dv6000 with AMD Turion 64 x 2 Proccesor. It is extremely slow, only 1.80 Ghz. is it possible that I can update the graphic card of at least 2.4ish and possibly RAM too?

On the background. Assuming that it is in the earlier 6499 dv6000 series and has an AMD processor here is the Manual:

    Manual

    It's the best processor:

    AMD Turion ML-60 2.0 GHz

.2 improvement is not enough to get excited about. It tops out at 2 GB of RAM. It will simply not be able to be upgraded to be a fast computer. An SSD can help a little, but even to say a 120 gig SSD will cost $80 or more and I would not invest in this laptop. They are perhaps the most infamous laptops ever made and did not massively. There was a class action lawsuit and a silent reminder of years, involving the graphic chip nVidia.

I think that the Phenom II P960 should work on the laptop. It uses the same TDP of 25W as the original processor and also the same socket.

  • the processor upgrade

Hi, I need help with a uprade, I bought a used laptop hp compaq 6510 b there the core 2 duo T7100 1800 mhz cpu and im would like to upgrade to a better done cpu does not matter if this is possible, and what are my options? Thanks for your help,

    You are the very welcome.

Yes, it's probably a difference in screen size.

Yours has a 14.1 "screen and the 6710 b has a 15.4" display, but have the same courage.

If you click on the link to revision of the bios I posted and then on the left side of the page, click Download drivers and software, you will see that you are on the 6510 b support page.

    Certainly not a stupid question.

I could make a mistake, and that would not have been good to send you to the wrong page about information BIOS!

If for some reason you need to update the bios, you must do this on XP or Vista. Those are that the only operating systems supported for flashing the BIOS.

If you were to Flash the BIOS when running windows 7, there is a very good chance that you will kill the PC for good.

  • The processor upgrade does not work

    Hello.

I have an ESX Server with 2 Intel chips four cores at 2.66 GHz I have set up two VM Server 2003 x 64 to test performance. I gave one logical processor, I gave the second server 2 processors. The server with 2 processors blew one out of the water... CPU benchmarks have been approximately 2:1.

So I stop server 1 and set to level to have also the 2 processors. I have restart once or twice for Windows to recognize the change of material and to run the tool of reference on this subject. The performance increase was only about 5% instead of 100% compared to the other test.

Someone with experience adding carrots to VM? Are Windows just doesn't know how to handle a second after basic installation? He sees the extra base and MHz, which is OK, but I really want the 2 sets of instructions sending performance gain at the same time.

    Thank you

    Tim

As much I know it cause no problem of stability. The only reason to have joined multiprocessors nuclei ant - multiprocessor kernel is a bit slower on machines uniprocessor due to lots of unnecessary synchronization code. My host has 2 quad CPU and lower the CPU load is 10 to 12% with a load of 80% of memory, so I can afford it.

  • Dimension 4700 choice of processor upgrade

    Hi all

Need some advice on the processor upgrade choices for a Dimension 4700 with a Pentium 4. I mainly use this machine to launch Cubase 4.5, and an Emu Proteus system and I am running up to the limit of my titles and sampling. I can't go further than 12 titles and which includes three tracks 48 k samples simultaneously. It seems incredible, but it is not enough good my goals of recording. It seems that what I really need, is a Quad-Core or even an I7. On my budget, it will not happen. My budget is $ 400.00 and it grows. I realize that maybe these specifications do not support upgrading to even a Dual-Core, and even if I could how much difference I would hear and experience in Cubase and Proteus fact?

What I would really like to get out of this system is a machine of 24 tracks with the same 48 k samples I need for serious recording, I'd settle for 8 simultaneous samples per song as well as 24 tracks.  Basically, it would be normal 16 pieces of Cubase VST over 8 tracks samples of Proteus.  What would rock!

If a serious CPU upgrade is plausible, should I upgrade my CPU cooling fan and XP Home Pro? Is my only option a faster Pentium 4?

  • Satellite 3000 - X 4: can I upgrade the processor?

    Hello

I have a pretty old (~ 5 years) S3000 - X 4 with a processor Intel Celeron 930 MHz I recently did a cleaning the radiator unit and additional and fat of the lot because the fan never seemed to stop. It has improved and now the fan especially when the processor reached somewhere around 80% usage.

The problem seems to be that he who reached very easily, so I still have the fan going all the time. I think probably a better processor could stop this, however, I'm not sure I can upgrade the processor?

Anyone know anything about this? It seems in other parts of this model is sold as a Satellite 1200, but comes with a 1.2 GHz processor.
    Thank you
