Satellite L850 - 1 P 9 - issue processor upgrade

Hello world!

I am the owner of a satellite L850-1 p 9 and I would like to change the real processor (i5 3230 m) with a 3612qm of 3540 m or i7 i7 and I wonder if compatibility problems can be...

Thanks a lot for your help.

A new processor might work properly only if the chipset and BIOS offers essential support.

So even if the new processor would be compatible with the chipset which is available on the motherboard, BIOS can cause problems. But that's just a guess

Of course, there is a good chance to get a new CPU if most hardware specifications (outlet, etc.) are similar to the previous CPU.

But to be honest, an upgrade of the CPU would not provide a significant performance gain. Of course you would get a faster processor, but the difference in performance isn't important.

In my opinion, you should use the current CPU but should move the HARD drive to SSD drive.
These updates the SSD is much better and you will not encounter the risk of damaging the laptop.

    Hello.

I own a X 200 satellite and me have been thinking about upgrading my processor, actually a T5450 (really bad).

I would like to know mainly two things:
    (1) is it possible?
    (2) what chipset, socket is compatible with the processor T5450?

    Hello

    > 1) is it possible?

In General, the laptop is not designed for Cpu and Gpu improved but only for memory and hard drive.

According to the website of intel:

Note, the Bios must also support a new processor, otherwise, it is useless. I don't know if your Bios can support these updates have not all the technical documentation for your model

After the upgrade of the W10, BT did not work so I updated the drivers Atheros AR3012 version 10.0.1.1

It still does not work. My phone can see the laptop on BT, but says that he cannot communicate with him.

The laptop does not tosee phone & Yes the phone is discoverable. My BT headset can not be seen now by phone.
All this worked fine with W7

My laptop is Satellite L850 (PSKDLE)
    Any ideas?

    Hello

In most cases, BT does not work due to lack of BT software.
I guess you will need to install the filter for the BT driver package.

In most cases the 8 Win / filter package 8.1 Bluetooth driver should work under Win 10... Then try to install the Atheros Bluetooth driver filter package and check to see if you will be able to activate BT

  • Satellite A200 - 23Q - issue processor upgrade

Hello, I am from Greece, and I'm new here, I know im newbe...

    I have toshiba Satellite A200 - 23q (motherboard: intel gm965, cpu: t5550 (1, 8 GHz))...

    Currently, I bought Intel T7500 (2, 2 GHz)...
Can I upgrade this laptop with this processor? What can the BIOS I've updated to?

    Sorry for my language faults...

    Thank you...

    Hello

Generally, the upgrade of the CPU is not advisable.
Firstly the BIOS that has been developed for this device has not been tested with different processors, and in the worst case the BIOS won't be compatible with the new processor.

    The Chipset must support this CPU;
    http://www.Intel.com/assets/PDF/datasheet/316273.PDF

    Chapter 1.1.1 processor support:
The chipset supports processors Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile 533 Mhz and 800 Mhz FSB support.

Processor Intel® Core 2 Duo T7500 supports 800 MHz FSB, so it should be supprted by the chipset.

    But once again; There are other reasons why upgrading the CPU doesn't have to be done;
The BIOS is one of the reasons.
The second reason is the higher heat dissipation which would be created by CPU more strong that could affect the functionality of the laptop as well.

  • Compaq 610 - issue processor upgrade

    Hello

I have Compaq 610 Notebook PC (p/n: NX540EAxxxx). I would be interested to know if I can improve my current processor, which is an Intel Celeron 560 processor Intel Core 2 Duo T5870?

Based on information online; namely the support forums HP and HP of online information, it seems that this update would be possible (see for example the links below).

Compaq 610 Notebook PC - overview:

    HP Support forum thread:

However, when I looked in the quickspecs Compaq 610 Notebook PC (see link below), it is said on page 4 that this upgrade depends on the chipset, my computer has, that is, it has to have either the GME965 or the Intel PM965 Chipset to be able to operate.

Compaq 610 Notebook PC - Quickspecs:

As I disassembled my Compaq 610 for the moment, I can't check the chipset in Windows. However, the spare part for the motherboard 538407-001, which tells me that it's the chipset GLE960, therefore not compatible with the Intel Core 2 Duo T5870.

For example for Compaq 610 laptop - site of spare parts (see link below) indicates that the spare part 538407-001 is a card type GL system, so to indicating me that it's the Chipset Intel GLE960. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Compaq 610 laptop - spare parts:

However, because not all HP information sources say that this upgrade depends on the chipset, could you please clarify the situation for me, i.e. the possible upgrade in my case?

Thank you in advance for your help!

You did a great job. Yes, this series Celeron models use a different motherboard that models C2D. Celeron, GLE960 chipset-based boards do not have a circuit to activate the speed of progression and other more advanced features of the processors. I've seen reports that C2D processors will work on this Board, but the feature will be paralyzed. I'll try to find one of the panels of the 965. You should be able to find one cheap enough.

    Hello

is it possible to upgrade the processor?
I would buy a cpu merom and install this one...
or is the processor soldered to the motherboard?

    Kind regards

    Hello

The answer is no, it is not possible to replace the processor in a Toshiba laptop. The processors used in laptops are connected to the motherboard using a process called TCP (tape carrier package). It is a method of permanent connection and is used in the interest of miniaturization and heat dissipation.

By the way: A100 is one of the latest devices and I don t understand why you want to swap the CPU. Why you didn t buy best camera has better CPU performance?

  • Satellite L850-12V - RAM upgrade

    Hello

Last week I discovered that I could improve my ram DDR3 capability of my laptop to a maximum of 8 GB 1866 mhz (according to crucial also site and corsair with scanning system) so I bought a new set of 2 x 4 GB 1866 MHz (Corsair Vengeance 1.5V to cas10). According to CPU - z, the system recognizes the 8 GB with no problems and yet the frequencies are not what I expected. It works in a 1330 mhz, case 8/9 and 1.5V, so I try to understand what I did wrong, or is there something to do?

But I kinda feel I'm screwed here, and I can't forget the 1866 mhz so everyone has an idea? I'm open to solutions :)

    Satellite L850-12V (PSKDLE)

I think that this pages of RAM manufacturers are not so accurate. As far as I know it depends on speed FSB mainboard so if Toshiba says that you must use the DDR3 1333 MHz this info is relevant to you.

According to the specifications of the laptop you can use modules of 2 x 4 GB of RAM and 4 GB of RAM compatible has PA3918U-1M4G part number. Check it out.

  • Update on Satellite L850 HARD drive

    Hello

I bought Toshiba Satellite L850-A846 already for several months and my hard is completely filled
and the cause of the nature of my work, I can't buy an external hard

So I wonder if I can replace my hard intern (640g) with (2 t)
I don't know my motherboard type and if it is compatible or not?

Also, I want to know if I can do it. Will this void my warranty license?

My number if you want to:
    PSKDLV

Problem is that Toshiba doesn't provide any update list where you can find a list of compatible parts that can be improved.
Still, HARD drive upgrade can be done by the owner for s (described in the manuals) laptop and it will not void phone warranty s.

To find out what drives and what capacity max can be problematic.
You can just hope that someone here has any experience with this and will issue a brief report.
Otherwise, you can try to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. Maybe they can help you with all this.

  • Satellite L850 - how to replace a HARD disk recovery partition?

    Hello.

Toshiba laptop Satellite L850. PSKDGA-02Y012. The original HARD drive has failed in his colleagues even mobile, so we replaced the two HARD drive after you have created a recovery USB. When used to restore the operating system to original status of OOB.
That has worked and portable runs much, but now I want to BACK the recovery partition (now only on the USB I think) for the new HARD drive.

Simple to shrink the disk HARD C: (partition 2) on the HARD disk, but then how to transfer twhats on the USB (USB recovery stick) back on the HARD drive?

    Thanks for any help.

    Karim...

    Hello karim

When you buy the notebook you will get it with preinstalled operating system (recovery image). Original recovery image is saved on the HARD disk on the recovery partition.
Each owner of the laptop has option to make the backup recovery image and create recovery media. It could be the DVD or USB support. You can do this by using preinstalled Toshiba recovery media creator tool.
This tool will create bootable recovery media that can be used for the installation of original image recovery if there is problem with the installation of image disk HARD recovery or when the drive is defective and must be replaced.

Where the HARD drive is faulty and should be replaced or the owner of the laptop to upgrade HARD drive, you can install original image created using recovery recovery media (USB). After installing recovery image, you will have the same situation as for the first boot after the purchase of the laptop. With other words notebook will have factory settings again.

In this case original recovery image is already copied onto the new HARD drive and you will also be able to start the installation of HARD drive recovery. There is therefore no reason to copy a recovery on HARD drive media.
Please note: installation of HARD drive recovery works with the factory only settings.

If you have any other questions do not hesitate to ask.

    Good luck.
