Satellite L850 - USB Port stopped working

Hello guys,.

first sorry for my bad English, im from Germany.

My new clearly L850 satellite has had some problems with sound-Port USB.
I think it's the Usb3.0 Port on the left.
While I'm workin with an external keyboard, the USB Port has stopped working and cannot identify the keyboard.
All other devices that I put there, are out of order, but when I put an external hard Powerdevice with separate data for laptop, that he is there something ist connectet, but can't identify it.

I have try all troubleshooting close it, like install new drivers, disable ports and restart and any kind of it.

So maybe you have another tip for me?
Or do I have to bring my laptop to the store for warranty?
A Windows 8 64 bit on it, maybe it will help.

Best regards, neothic

Have you tried reinstalling the driver USB 3.0? Please try and check the functionality. If this will not help I recommend you do the ultimate test: back up all your data and reinstall Win8 using recovery media. Test it with clean OS preinstalled and factory settings.

In the worst cases, you should contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help.

  • Satellite A200 - USB Ports stopped working

Hallo, I am DESPERATE for help, please.

I have a Toshiba laptop Satellite A200 series with 32-bit Windows.

My USB ports give me major problems.

I use a USB Internet Modem on multiple computers and it works fine on all computers, including Toshiba.

A month earlier, Internet USB would suddenly and constantly disconnect itself from the Internet, when I use it in the USB one. When I use USB port two, he recorded no more. The port does not have the device.

Two USB ports work well when used by other USB products.

I had always used Internet USB into the USB port, with a cooling for my laptop fan, USB 2 port. Now, when I insert the cooling fan, USB Internet disconnects and will not register, at least I have remove fan, remove and reinsert the USB Internet.

    I did the following:

    1. start an anti-virus
2 uninstall, re-install and update all the drivers for the USB, chipset famlies, Internet Modem ports, EVERYTHING.
    3. I checked with my Internet provider, the problem lies in my PC, not them.

I don't know what to do, I'm tired.

    Help, please!

Now, when I insert the cooling fan, USB Internet disconnects and will not register, at least I have remove fan, remove and reinsert the USB Internet.

I think that it is a problem of USB power.

The USB 2.0 port provides 500mA, and in some cases more than USB ports can be connected to the same power supply to the motherboard.
In case the USB device connected (in your case fan) would need more than 500 ma, it could be that other USB devices do not work correctly.
I recommend you go to Device Manager and select the properties of USB controller.

The last "Power Management" tab contains the option to turn off the device to save power.
This option should NOT be checked. It should be disabled.

    Check it out.

  • USB ports stopped working unexpectedly

Hi, I am currently on "Toshiba Satellite C655"run"Windows 7 Home Premium". It's a laptop of 2009 model (2 GB). Last night (24/02/14) my USB Ports stopped working, they have been and continue to read anything every time I have to plug my devices. I usually only connect a cooling block and a USB mouse to the computer. They worked perfectly until I disconnected the. When I reconnect them, they work momentarily, and then I hear the beep sounds when you eject a device. I tried to connect several flashdrives, a printer, and one I tried the following hotfixes:

Note: The order of numbering has nothing to do with the order, I tried to apply each patch unless specified elsewhere. This computer had Windows 7 Home Premium REINSTALLED at some point. Just for your information. This message was made when there are others with the same problem is due to the fact that no solution not specified by Microsoft Technical Support or the Microsoft community were effective.

    1) System Restore to the last known point, where they worked (and still). (Point restoration @ 15/02/24)

    2) Windows Update

    3) turn off the computer, disconnect the battery and the power supply and holding 'On' button for 10seconds.

(Note: whenever I turn on the computer now they work only for a moment, usually from 60 to 180 seconds.)

    (4) Start > research ' Device Manager '> "De Bus USB controllers" Expand and turn off and restart the computer. They are re - activate automatically but my problem persists.

    (5) download and run "Microsoft FixIt.WinUSB... ", on the 1st, I had a problem with devices not updated. But I actually watch updates by using Windows Update and ""searching for hardware changes "" on USB Bus controllers "." I then did a 'System Restore' and now Microsoft FixIt found no problem but the USB Ports don't always work.

    (6) will ' services.msc"and change the Startup Type of Manual to Automatic for Windows install and restart Windows."

    7) regedit

    8) sfc/scannow

I am really lost with this problem now. My laptop works and worked perfectly fine until this problem occurred. I have fixed minor problems with computers before, but this is a bad joke for me now. If someone could please help me with this problem I would appreciate it a lot. Thank you very much.

Thank you for your help, but I discovered something funny on my computer. My cooling package (product name: Laptop Cooling Pad NSB;) HYCF-6181-2 model number) is to disable my USB ports when I plug. If I leave it unplugged and restart my computer, my USB mouse is still working on a port. Also tried using my USB and other devices. The problem is my block of cooling that strangely disables my USB ports, whenever I plug. Thank you very much for your quick response, fortunately the answer might help me in the future. For now, I have solved my problem.

  • Satellite L850 - webcam suddenly stopped working

The web cam on my Satellite L850 has suddenly stopped working.

    It does not appear in Device Manager;
    I downloaded the latest driver on the Toshiba site;
    I checked the BIOS and the web cam is turned on;
Always when I open the web cam application I get the following message:

"webcam initialization failed Please restart request and camera control.

I scoured the advice forum and short of a return to the top and reboot disk HARD, I find no reasonable answer. I can't back up as I am away from home is out of the question. I need web conference call cam / call my family to the United Kingdom back.

Tired of going round in circles and getting nowhere.

    Any suggestions?

Even if you have not changed the settings in the BIOS, you must Access the BIOS to make sure that the webcam is turned on it!

I also recommend the suite of this workaround:
    Uninstall the webcam software
    Uninstall the VAP
Uninstall all software needed the webcam (Skype, etc...)
Now, restart and install CCLeaner (cleaning of freeware software)
    Reboot once more.
Run CCleaner and clean the system and the registry.
    Reset
Now follow with installation of VAP
    Reset
    Install the webcam software
    Reset
    Test webcam.

    Good luck

I restored the functionality of USB ports by doing a system restore before installing updates.

What should I do? Ignore ALL updates future windows 7, which leaves the system vulnerable? Help is appreciated thanks.

    I solved this.

Device-USB controllers-online standard uninstall online Manager pci improved to (do it twice) usb host controller, and then the scanner hardware change and let the win7 to reinstall the drivers.
Updates were corrupted somehow the drivers, you need to fix manually.
  • All USB ports stopped working Windows 7

Windows 7 Pro. All USB ports stopped working.  When I plug a usb card, windows makes the sound as it connects and the card gets power (light).  I see the map appear in disk drives in Device Manager.  The player does not display in windows Explorer or disk management.  In Device Manager, it has an exclamation point and says that the device cannot start.

Strangely, I have a USB keyboard and mouse and they work very well.

It's just the USB drives and chips and SD cards that are not displayed.

    I have:

    Reinstalled the drivers USB MB

Flashed the BIOS with the latest version

Tried to install the older USB drivers

Tried to let windows find the driver.

    Still does not

None of this has helped.  I ended up formatting the HD and reinstall windows from dvd.

This revealed that my USB multicard reader was bad.  When I unplugged the problem disappeared.

  • SQosmio G50 - 10 H - one of the usb ports stopped working

    Hello forum,.

I have a BOUNCING problem with usb ports on my qosmio g50-10 h.
There are two ports on the right side of the machine and I have 2 self-powered 7 centers of port (usb 2) attached to these.

Every now and then to stop it from ports and of course all the parts a unregcognised, not found.
I get error messages saying unregognised device or usb device stopped working or windows stopped device etc.

Unplug the hub and repluging it ususally actually come back to life.

    any ideas?

    Stafford

    Hello

Have you tried to connect devices directly to the USB port?
Try this and see if the USB device is disconnected, as you mentioned that using the external USB hub.

Generally speaking, it is difficult to say what might cause this
You could try updating the chipset driver.
Of course, you should also check the USB port settings, and power management options for economy.

In device manager-> USB root & hub-> properties you could disable for unique energy saving USB ports.
This also on Win 7 power management.

As a result, none of the 3 USB ports on my old MX30 work of 2 months. I unchecked the option in the hardware Manager of devices for energy saving, nothing helps. First of all, only the mouse stopped and I thought the mouse was to blame, but all of a sudden the machine does not recognize the USB memory key more.
Any advice would be very welcome, because I can't work!

Respond to my ad. I've updated the drivers for the USB host controller and BIOS and USB ports running again.

  • Re: Satellite L500 - USB ports stopped when I'm with them

    Satellite L500 running Windows 7.

So far, I deleted the drivers of USB devices and the mouse through Device Manager and reinstalled at the beginning upward. strange thing is when I do that the mouse devices becomes operational during installation then become inactive at the end... This leads me to believe that he may have been the related power management. I chose high performance as profile of power favorite and disabled USB selective suspend setting, once more with no joy. I find that really odd how USB ports work in detecting the device and asking the right driver update... ideas?

    > So far I deleted the drivers for the two USB and...
Do you have which driver removed for USBs?

Satellite L500 is not the latest model cell phone, so I would like to know since when you noticed this problem.
Are you using the original version of Win7 you have with your laptop (recovery image)?
Have you tried reinstalling the chipset utility?

    Hello

Check the configuration/settings (BIOS/CMOS) often F2 when you start - make sure that USB is enabled.

If a PC and if necessary the embedded USB can be disabled and a USB card can be used only
is not expensive. For a laptop, using a real computer shop (no leeks and glances at a Best Buy
or other stores) or system manufacturer support.

  • Desktop Dell Optiplex 390 computer. Each USB Port stopped working

    Hello!

I'm at my wits end. Turned on my Optiplex 390 a few days ago and found that my keybord or my mouse was working. I tried all the usb ports on the front and back. When I plug inn the keybord the numlock, capslock and scroll lock lights upp for half a second, but it was not detected.

I can't get into the bios. as my keyboard is not detected at all. start or windows or linux or back or Freedos.

My Bios is A01. Is trying to update, but you know no keyboard, I tried to reset the bios by the rider and take out the battery for a few hours. to no awail.

Can anyone think of what the problem might be? doubt his material because none of the usb ports work and that they should be on different controllers.

Manual says that the 390 office has an intrusion switch. See the manual for the location of the connection on the motherboard and the trace of wire to the switch.

Blue button / stop more amber LEDs 1,2,3,4 is not an error code documented.

Are you sure that you have disabled the BIOS as speed tells you how?

You will have to strip to bare essentials, but more like the failure of the motherboard.
