  • Satellite A200 - Vista Home Premium to ultimate upgrade

Hi back from the guy with a new query.

"" I'm looking to upgrade Vista Home Premium to Ultimate... checked the requirements of what is known on the "Windows anytime upgrade" site and I can you there is a lot of conflicting ideas on how its all done up to the fact that I would need a disc to upgrade mailed to me.

After reading a few other forums recently, the answer lies in what you guys can or perhaps are not able to advise me... and the question is:

Only the so-called "rescue disk" provided with the purchase, IE the Windows operating system disk... ALL CONTAIN THE ' VISTA "SYSTEMS AVAILABLE..." Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate? and very unlikely, but she coded upgrade or anything like that, as its meant to be to perform upgrades?

Thanks a lot again in anticipation of your kind comments

    Andrew.

Firs of all I think you should know that it is a forum for users and to my knowledge, there is no guy from Toshiba which could provide instructions.
I know, it's, your Toshiba Recovery DVD contains the same Win Vista that was preinstalled on your laptop.
It seems that you bought this laptop with Vista Home Premium and this operating system should be placed on the recovery media.

Please DON t mix the Toshiba Recovery DVD with a DVD of new, original and clean Microsoft Vista.
Toshiba Recovery contains an image include the OS, drivers, tools and additional software.
    It s already active.

The MS Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista but to use a version of Vista that a right serial key must be inserted.

Hope I could make a clarification.

  • Satellite L850: Windows 8 error - 'PC hit a problem... ". »

    Hello.

I bought a portable Satellite L850, used it for about 2 hours. Next time I booted up it, the error ""restart your PC on a problem and needs. " We are only collecting information, and then we will restart for you. (0% complete) "in a blue screen appeared.

He gave me two options using the F8 key, has nothing; He blinked only screen when I pressed the F8 key or any other key F for all that matters.

Changing the boot in the bios options, I was able to boot a Windows 7 DVD booteable, and to my surprise, I found that the hard drive had no partitions... at all (when it should be 2 maybe 3 partitions and a space law?).

Of course, I could not also burn the recovery DVDs because I could not go back to windows, and when I tried to boot from an overview of client Windows 8 DVD, the same error occurred, over and over again.

I now use the computer under Windows 7 I have installed, but I would definitely come back the origin of windows 8 copy supplied with the computer... or at least be able to maybe install another copy of Windows 8 of my own.

Somebody help me, I would really appreciate it.

Sorry if my English is not good enough, it isn't my mother tongue.

    Hello

I think that you have installed Win 7 on the HARD drive. Right?
This means that Win 8 is no longer available looks like you couldn't create the recovery disk containing 8 win too so I don't see an option for you allow to win 8:
You must order the disk recovery from here:
    http://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

But a question remains open: why the BSOD appeared?
It could be a problem of system or a hardware problem, but I can't say with certainty what's exactly wrong according to me, you will need to contact a service if the installation of Win 8 can not fix this

  • Vista Home Basic to Ultimate 32

How can I disable my antivirus to upgrade to Vista Ultimate and how I can just do the upgrade and not the complete instillation.   I don't want to lose all my files.  Thank you for your help.   wassupbud

    Hi wassupbud,

    1. you use the Windows anytime upgrade disk to perform the upgrade?

There are different options of the security software for temporary disabling options running and can vary.

You are looking for such an option in the security software for further assistance please contact the software publisher.

When you perform a new installation, your current version of Windows, including all of your files, settings, and programs, is automatically replaced. You can back up your files and settings, but you must manually reinstall your programs and restore the backed up files when the installation is complete.

When you perform a custom installation all your personal files, images, videos and the program settings are saved in the folder named Windows. old. You will need to reinstall all of the programs and the application after installation is complete.

An upgrade to Windows Vista preserves the personal files, settings, and programs that are currently installed.

You can perform an installation upgrade of Windows family basic to Windows vista Ultimate edition.

  • Windows Home Basic Edition does not connect to a grace wireless working group

I'm running 3 computers on a workgroup that connects to the internet. A computer running Windows 7 Pro, another Windows XP Pro and the third is a laptop running Windows 7 Home Basic.  There are full between the 3 interoperability when connected via a LAN cable, even when the laptop is connected to the wireless router.  However, if I try to use the laptop without cable, it will connect to the router wireless as an unidentified Public network and therefore does not see the Working Group (and therefore there is no internet access).

If I click on the icon of unidentified network in the center network & sharing, I expect to be able to select the type of network, I can use - i.e. knit - but instead I get a box indicating that it is a public network, unidentified without options.  I tried to use the difficulty Microsoft it 50725 - but he said he could not change the network settings and I should change in network settings - which I can't.

In this mode, I can 'see' the laptop on the other two computers, but its network location is black (not the working group only when connected via cable) and if I try to open up the laptop I get an error message saying: it can not find the path.

This is a recent problem that the system worked very well upward until a couple of there are days where I lost wireless connectivity. The signal strength is 100% (the router is normally less than 30 meters, although now is 1 meter away so I can plug the cable) and there is no other networks wireless within several km.  I have a total control through my browser to the router through the wireless link wireless, the material is so everything is OK - it takes a few adjustments to the software.

    Any ideas?

Sorry for the delay in replying, I had problems to download all the drivers the most recent, but ultimately successful.

Uninstall and reinstall the wireless card had no effect so I started the update or replacement of all other drivers as well.

Replace the Bluetooth driver did the trick, even if it has been disabled in advance and it is always off - but for reasons that I doubt I'll never, understand which seems to have been the problem--for now

Thanks for the advice - it always pays to be more radical than you ever thought necessary...

  • How do I cancel a premium upgrade windows Home Basic 7

I want to know how I can cancel an upgrade, I bought a laptop with windows 7 Home Basic and without my knowledge my son toward the down loaded windows 7 Home premium upgrade and he upgraded the original windows 7 Home Basic. Now, I want to cancel the upgrade without restoring the system... Can someone suggest a method to do the same thing...

    Concerning
    Joseph

As my windows 7 Home Basic is original and premium is a copy so I don't get updated

As suggested, you will need to use the recovery partition or the put recovery disk to reinstall Windows 7 Home Basic Edition:

    -------------------------------------

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

This is how the recovery partition is available for the most popular brands

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

Related to Internet explorer, you can download Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org or Chrome from http://www.google.com/chrome and use them as alternatives.

Regarding backups, I suggest avoid you the Windows backup program and you get a good commercial backup program. This forum meets for a windows problem reports. I know that I was very impressed when I tried it. Three I'm familiar with and like Norton Ghost (which I use for 8 years no 1 problem), Easeus Todo Backup free, you can download it on http://www.todo-backup.com/products/home/free-backup-software.htm and Memeo, which has 30 day free trial and you can buy it for $29.99 - you can download it from http://memeo.com . You can get Ghost for almost nothing (like me), if you look at the sales.
The March 2012 issue of PC World is very high on Easeus FREE program, and I was recently tested in a variety of configurations and must say that I am very impressed.  As Ghost will support up to a network drive and it will create a bootable CD for when your PC does not start.  See commentary to PC World to
    http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fid, order 80031, 4/description.html .

CNET has a lot of reviews of backup program to
    http://download.cnet.com/windows/backup-software/?tag=contentBody;sideBar .

Some of them are free (the last time I checked there over 300), some have free trials (more), and some are buying only (more than 200).

External hard drives are the best for backup. You can get a 500 GB one for $70 and a 1.5 to one for about $90. You can also buy a flash drive 16 GB for as little as $10. It is the best insurance you can buy ever!

Some models are delivered with Win8. Can you please send the exact model number? I just want to check the specification.

Anyway, if you have Win7 when you press F12 can you see at the top of the screen flash cards?
When you press FN + F12 you see option ON / OFF for the WLAN?

  • The disk (with no key) installed Vista Home Premium, and the license key OEM is for... Home Basic!

    I recently did a clean install with the disc that came with my Dell XPS6400 (bought in the auction) local computer, which had only "Vista 32bits" written on it and no product key.  I thought I could use the key on the sticker on the underside of the computer OEM license, even if the 2 characters in the 3rd section were partially missing - they had to be one of the other four.  When OEM license was initially considered valid, I realized that I had not yet downloaded a service pack, but after that, he was still to come as being invalid!  Then, I found that the version of Vista that was on the disc was "Home Premium" and the OEM for "Home Basic" license key  Do I have to reinstall the whole system, drivers, etc., in order to establish the upgrade?  (Please say "NO", there is an easier way to do this!    Here's the MGADiag. -I hope it helps.  :-}

The product key on the bottom will work for what he says he is, Windows Home Basic Edition.

Reinstall the correct Systyem, Windows Home Edition basic operation to use this product key.

And Microsoft sells more than Vista.

To reinstall Vista Home Basic read this information.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought, not that one 32-bit, vista, your computer must be on the hard drive to reinstall recovery Partition Vista to how you bought your computer, which may or may not work after the installation of the wrong edition.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs
