  I Hare recently upgradedmy Toshiba Satellite L855-149 to the most recent version of windows 8 6.2 and since I did then the Synaptics touch pad stopped working, I guess because the driver does not work with this version of windows 8.   The normal technique to use the product recovery CD is down the 'C' key while turning on the notebook. You should here a series of beeps after what Notepad should prompt for the first recovery CD to be inserted.

  This means that there is no driver specific to the Win 7 OS.
