Satellite L855 - random closure

Hi there in recent weeks my cell phone has been randomly closing, at first I thought it was a problem of dust, I cleaned the fan and removed all the dust, it still happens.

For Christmas, I bought a cooling pad and still not solved the problem, if anyone can help out me. The laptop is still in warranty and seriously it sent back as one of the reasons why I bought this laptop was too much play on this.

Any help would be very useful.

Thank you.

Hello

You can try to optimize the cooling performance but also to reduce the performance of the processor.
Two changes could be done in the Windows power management.

I assume you are using Windows 8? Is this right?

Please take a look at this Toshiba document [how to manage Windows 7 power management features | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD12017W0001R01.htm]

His show the power of Win 7 but it of very similar to Win 8 or 8.1 Win

  • Satellite L855 - 11 p - random play stops

    Hello.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L855 - 11 p, which is less than a year. When you try to play a game on it (Borderlands 2, a game for which the laptop apparently meets the minimum requirements), it will play very well for a while (~ an hour or two), and then without any warning, the screen will turn black and the laptop turns off. The power button does nothing for a couple of minutes and after that the power button works and it will start again.

Initially, he would play other, less demanding games like Left 4 Dead 2 fine, but recently it has begun to worsen, restart more often and on the games with the decline in spending. I'm pretty confused as to what is the cause, and any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

I think that its a problem with the temperature.
Play games that require a material very high performance insists a lot parts hardware (CPU, GPU, RAM).
This leads to higher heat dissipation and this leads to the highest temperature level.

I think that this could be the reason for stopping at random and accidental loss of downs.
The unit will stop automatically to prevent the pieces of equipment against damage

How to prevent this? Hmm... good question usually you must make sure that laptop can be cooled properly. There should be enough free space around the unit and the air must circulate properly.
Graphics card driver should use Toshiba page. This driver is designed for mobile use, in addition, make sure that the fans are not clogged with dust. Dust inside the unit can affect the performance of fans and supporters slow cause high temperature.

  • Satellite L855 - 14K - random switching between power settings

My Satellite L855 - 14K is used when it is plugged. The screen changes every seconds bright for dim - at the same time the logo in the taskbar switches to [plugged, load] to [xx % remaining] and the plug is removed from the logo. I changed the setting to [high-power] power and changed the setting to never reduce or turn off the screen and the brightness of the screen has been set to the maximum. There is always an obvious difference and it makes me crazy.

The computer running Windows 7 Ultimate and has a 750 GB SSD, 16 GB of RAM, and software and BIOS are up-to-date. Battery and power have been exchanged with good known and the power supply is interrupted.

    Someone at - it ideas?

    Fred

According to the specifications of the laptop your machine was delivered with Win8 64 bit. Have you noticed the same behavior with preinstalled OS original?
Since when did you notice this strange "switching" between the power supply and the battery?

To be honest, it's not easy to say with certainty what the problem is here, but I think that it cannot be software related issue. I can hardly imagine that software gets a sort of 'signal' of electronic power supply.

    The warranty is still valid?

  • Satellite L855 - 13G - cannot use the Webclaim service

    Hello

I bought a Toshiba Satellite L855 - 13G (PSKACE-04Y00CFR) in France last year, but this computer is already leading me in trouble!

The graphics makes noise, one of the USB port does not work, and now, without any change of software, the computer shuts off after displaying a blue screen with "KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR".
This blue screen just randomly (say about two or three times a day).

I would send this computer for repair, but now I find something very weird: Toshiba has done everything possible to hide L855 - 13G!

All first of all without result on the Web site:
    https://www.Google.co.UK/#q=%22l855+13g%22+site:Toshiba.com

Second, the model is not listed in the support Center:
    https://www.Toshiba.fr/innovation/generic/SUPPORT_PORTAL/
When I enter the serial number: no result. Also using the fields ' or is your product "model is not listed.

Third, and better, I can't access the service of warranty claim for a Toshiba product for this computer: when I'm on https://weblord.toshiba-tro.de/Webclaim/ and I fill the serial number, the computer is identified (Alleluia), I have a green check mark for the status of the guarantee and "your product is still in warranty period."

But then, I can't click next and mention "product not available: Unfortunately your product is currently not available" appears instead.

So... apparently Toshiba is is best to forget about the Toshiba Satellite L855 - 13 G, but for unlucky enough to have people buy a what are the next steps?

I would like to be contacted by someone from Toshiba to get an answer or a proposal to change my computer or at least fix it!

    Many thanks in advance,
    Best regards.

    > I would like to be contacted by someone from Toshiba to get an answer or a proposal to change my computer or at least fix it!

First of all, I want to provide you with information on this community.
This is a user to user community where you meant fans of Toshiba. You won't find any Toshiba here people

Now some details about the fix for laptop:
In case your laptop computer s hardware began to malfunction, you can contact the maintainer authorized Toshiba in your country in order to fix hardware problems.
Here on this page of Toshiba ASP you can find all available worldwide FSA:
    http://www.Toshiba.EU/innovation/generic/ASP_SUPPORT/

Last but not least, he should know that the warranty only covers hardware problems.
If in case the laptop does not work due to some software problem, the warranty would not cover the cost. This is why I would recommend you to retrieve the computer laptop back to factory BEFORE you contact the ASP.

I hope this info helps a bit.

  • Satellite L855 - 12N - keyboard problem after upgrade to Windows 10

    Greetings friends,
the problem goes like this: I have a TOSHIBA satellite, L855-12N, Series notebook.

After updrading to win 10, some of my keys (a, n, enter) did not work initially.
If I wait for awhile, they start work later.
I find that I continue to press a button, (for example the button "a") for a long time, I see that he started to answer, then stop again and then answer - stop, until finally it works OK.
I tried to update the drivers, uninstall and then reinstall, but it doesn't seem to work.
Anyone know what's going on, or have any suggestions?
    Thank you.

    You are 100% it's a matter of Windows 10?
Looks more like a hardware problem, keyboard should replace.

Go into the BIOS and test the keyboard in there.
If it goes into the BIOS and then replace the keyboard.

If it's a software problem, try uninstalling the driver for the touchpad Control Panel, then reinstall it via Windows Update.

  • Satellite L855 - 12 X: how to use BD - RE with TOSHIBA Recovery Media Creator

    Hi all

My question is about the progress of the Recovery Media Creator.
I was about to create the recovery and I noticed that there are several options (DVD 4.7 GB, DVD 8.5 GB and Flash memory).

My Toshiba Satellite L855 - 12 X with a Blu - ray burner disc drive and I would use a BD - RE, I bought for backups.

Does anyone have a solution to use this media?

I guess that Blu - ray discs are not supported by Recovery Media Creator.
As you said: the 4.7 GB DVD, the 8.5 GB DVD and USB Flash memory stick options are available.

I think the 16 GB USB flash memory stick would be the best choice

  • Satellite L855-B412 - which makes the DVD recovery to win 8.1

I have Toshiba Satellite L855-B412 I bought last year that came with windows 8.
I have upgraded to windows 8.1 through the windows store and then updated the derivers of the system for windows 8.1
then I system backup on 2 DVD using the Toshiba system backup utility.

When I restore the system of these DVD I get windows 8.1 or the old windows 8?

Recovery media creator Toshiba does not create the image of an operating system recovery real but just copy original recovery image designed by Toshiba.
With other words after using recovery discs, you will have same Win8 version as you guessed it with your new laptop.

My Toshiba Satellite L855-149 primer not Windows or same boot a disc to install a new copy of windows 7. He keeps making a firm hard down when trying to load the screen of windows 7. It will only start in safe mode.

Its a little strange... my head made shipwreck.
    Anyone had this same problem?
    Help, please

As I see you have tested on power supply battery. The same thing happens on the power supply?

Anyway, this issue is for the service then I recommend strongly to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. In my opinion, these questions it's that no much you can do about it.

  • 5 GHz connectivity Satellite L855 - 10 p

Can anyone please offer some advice?
(Sorry for posting but I tried to edit my post and some how all lost, but the issue of opening)

I'll try again. My wife bought this laptop about 1 year ago. Our ISP is Virgin supply is the cable from the laptop running Windows 7. The used router was a TP Link TL-WR740N 2.4 GHz. connection signal was unreliable. We installed inSder3 which indicates that the 2.4 GHz band is often very crowded his reception was often both bunk and in the same channel, but we don't remember it have been broken. When she lost the internet, the only solution was to turn off and restart everything.

InSSIder3 said no signal on the 5 GHz band. The provider of the laptop was adamant "the laptop would choose the signal of 5 GHz in the same way that he had picked up the 2.4 GHz signal.

Yesterday, the router has been professionally changed for a router Asus RT-N66U Gigabit Dual Band. The laptop does not identify the 5 GHz signal, but this is where the installer Smartphone adjacent to the laptop recognizes it.

I'm old and decrepit, but the manual says that the laptop is compatible with "channel selection of frequency of 5 GHz for IEEE 802. 11A or / and IEEE802.11n. I took it is the confirmation of the request of providers. But now it seems that Toshiba say that in this machine wireless card must allow the use of the 5 GHz frequency, but cannot always guarantee the compatibility of the 3rd part 5 GHz router networks.

Any suggestions? + But remember my lack of ability.

    Hello

As far as I know the Satellite L855 - 10 p was equipped with Atheros WB225 802.11bgn card Wlan.

802.11 Wlan standards operating at different frequencies
    Thus, for example:
    802.11 a supports 5 GHz
    supports 802.11 b 2.4 Ghz
    802.11 g supports 2.4 Ghz
802.11 n supports 2.4 Ghz and 5 GHz option, but only if the same chip would support 802.11 standard.

In your case the chip Wlan supports the 802.11bgn without the standard and, therefore, I assume that 5 Ghz isn't supported by the chip

  • Satellite L855 - question about charging battery

    Hello!
I have the Satellite L855-188. I have a question. My rating is at home, almost everytime. So how do I load it? Can I use it when it is still connected to electricity? Or sometimes I have to disconnect?

In General, you can do whatever you want. For example, my laptop is connected to the power adapter, and I use it every day. What you can do is to use from time to time with battery power supply. Just extend the empty battery and reconnect it to the power running. Do it once a week.

    > Can I use, when it is still connected to electricity?
    Yes.
    > Or sometimes I have to disconnect?
In general you should not do, but you can do it from time to time.

  • Satellite L855 makes a noise and hangs expecially in games

    Hello.

I just bought a SATELLITE L855 - 10 p (http://pt.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/jsp/supportMyProduct.do?service=PT), with last Wednesday ATI graphics card, but my computer came with one problem (which I will try to explain, because already, I went to the store to pass for another and the cams newone with the same problem as the previous one, also the tecnic can't find the error). Now the problem:

When I'm in 'youtube' or 'windows media player' or expecially when I play LoL (League of Legends, online game) my computer freezes for a few seconds (one or two) and that it crashes, it makes a noise too.

If I'm with a helmet I listen to that noise in the headphones. I tried everything like reinstalling the video card and sound card drivers and it changed nothing, accidents and noise remain. I don't know what to do...-

Is there a solution? I can not even find what the problem... And tecnic store seems to not be able to solve either...

    I appreciate your help.

    Hello

Could it be that the system hangs during the second view and appears so this strange noise?
In most cases, the system hangs because the CPU is stressed and overloaded

Someone in this thread had some streaming video LAG
Maybe your problem could be solved also.

  • Problem with my Toshiba Satellite L855 - 14 c

Hey there guys. Last time I have a problem. One day, I was going down. There was a water and I wanted my laptop. But I slipped and my phone fell from the stairs. I was really worried. So I hurry took to the top. Power on and BAM. It didn't load Windows 8.1 but he showed something like: "No. Bootable Device Found. Please restart".» First I have if it is hard disk problem... So I brough HDD to my uncle. He tested the HARD drive on the other computer says it HARD drive is OK. Then I tried to delete and insert HARD return drive but still no change... . I think my uncle is right... I even tried to UEFI Windows 8.1 installation disk USB Bootable. The installation program is loaded successfully. But it was blocking "the installation program begins" about 4 hours. So I turned it off... Then I tried the installer again. I googled for help with DISKPART. But it has same problem that when I open CMD Setup (SHIFT + F10) and Type /diskpart it shows just something like:
    Microsoft DiskPart version 6.3.9600
    Copyright (C) 1999-2013 Microsoft Corpation.
    On computer: MINWINPC

It does not appear DISKPART > more than 3 hours... (It MUST.)

So I don't know what to do. .

Please guys help me. I'm only 14 years old boy.

    My laptop is Toshiba Satellite L855 - 14 c

I think that HARD drive can have bad sectors, possibly in the region of boot sector.

Connect the HARD drive to another computer, run this utility to verify the SMART State and check the defective number of sectors/blocks.

  • Freeze on Satellite L855 - 11K

    Hello

I have a Satellite L855 - 11 k (PSKACE). The problem I have with the laptop is the continuous gap.

    Explain the examples:

A game that does not demand a lot of features, CS (counter strike 1.6 network) I can not play, because I play + 70 fps and suddenly when we turn the camera or move in one area, the fps drops to 0 and blow less than 1 s up to 70 frames per second. No internet problem, the same thing happens in offline mode.

Another example are the videos, like youtube for example, a video of 480 p to my laptop I need to move smoothly, but must then image frozen (the audio continues to play) and I can't see anything. After 1-2 seconds veulve himself. But it's very annoying. (The same thing happens to 320p, 720 p or 1080 p). With vlc, nothing on this, but as I see the video I can't do anything more.

I also noticed that with any program when you save a document, photo,..., it is more expensive than a laptop with less energy.

Additional information: I have windows 8 x 64 (with windows 7 x 64 is the same), and I added a 4 GB module, so I have 8 GB (1600 MHz) ram. All drivers download from the toshiba website [http://www.toshiba.es/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=ES]. I also noticed that when I copy something to port hard drive VIA USB 3.0 for a short period of 4-7 s high-speed 40MB / s, but falls to 1-3 MB / s.

And finally, in the windows Device Manager, I see the Blast graphic processor (intel grafics 3000HD) (seen intalled readers of the toshiba website).

Finally, I tried all modes of windows, balanced, economy, powerful... and activation and deactivation of the refrigeration system strategy.

I can serult all this time lag and freeze?

PS: I also noticed that the laptop FAN 30% does not increase, even if the pc is at 90 ° +!.

    Hello

The laptop supports the AMD Radeon HD M 7670.
Therefore, the hardware specifications are good enough to play games smoothly or watch videos full HD.

In your case I recommend that you check the version of the BIOS. Maybe there is a new version of BIOS that needs an update more trying to update ATI graphics card driver

Also I recommend that you check the HARD drive for a possible malfunction.
The freeware tool called disk HARD drive fitness test could be useful, this software allows you to test the HARD drive

Otherwise I have no other explanation for the quoted question... it's possible and hardware or software related issue.

    Hi all

I recently bought a [Satellite L855 | http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/series/Satellite-L855-series/1122208/] with an elegant blue brushed anodized... ^^

I think I have a problem with this amazing aluminium structure. When I don't connect it to the power socket and I slide my finger on the aluminum frame, everything seems OK. When I plug to a power outlet and I slide my finger on the aluminum frame, the touch is different as if there was some electricity in the frame!

Can you please check this on your L855?

    Many thanks in advance,

    It seems the same theme.
The use of adapter to three pins should solve the problem.
