Satellite M keep crush - BSOD appears

My computer crashes.
A blue screen appears. It is said to empty my memory the BIOS options.

When I click on Toshiba HWsetup, a message which says 'Toshiba common module HWsetup completed'.

Help, please!

What is the BSOD STOP Code?

0x000000?

A BSOD can be caused by something, its impossible to know the cause without knowing the BSOD STOP Code.

    Hello

My laptop has been freezing, screen dump of the fault (blue) lights up regularly, as well the touchpad doesn't work does not correctly...

I was advised to use the product recovery disc, what I did, but I don't know if it worked, the computer laptop stil has the same problems except the touchpad works a little better, and I can't use it in normal mode, in the security mode.

I was told the memory would be clear too, but everything is still there.

The laptop stays on for a few minutes at best before freezing or returns to the screen crash dump...

Can someone tell what I can do?

    Thank you

    Hello

The BSOD (blue screen of death) can be everything and can be caused by everything. I mean it could be related to hardware or software issue.

But especially the freezing of the BONES and the BSOD appear due to the dysfunction of the RAM.
Failure of the RAM may be caused by a high internal temperature.
This may affect the functionality of the laptop and the BSOD.

I think you should clean the OS using a jet of compressed air.
This spray can be purchased from the other computer dealers.

If this will not help your RAM should be checked also.

    Good luck

  • Satellite A500 - 17 X - BSOD appear every day

    Hello

Bought an A500 again a few months ago, printer software installed anything else and every day I get at least 1 blue screen, sometimes 2 back to back. Deleted printer software and performed system restore but still the same.

Contacted Toshiba tech but not a lot of help, said they could see the machine, but if it turns out to be a software problem, then I would be charged!

Don't know what information is required for Event Viewer to advise?

Any advice would be appreciated. See you soon

    Hello

It would be interesting to know what BSOD you get exactly. Maybe you can publish this information and search a little bit with Google you can do it yourself ;)

But of course, if it s a software problem, you have to pay for it. Only hardware issues are covered by the warranty.

If you use the Toshiba Recovery disk to restore to factory settings and the error still occurs, it seems to be a hardware problem.

  • Satellite L300-145 - BSOD appears if I installed 4 GB of RAM

    Hi all

I have this Satellite L300-145 PSLB0E-03601LPT and I want to install 4 GB of RAM, but when I install 4GB on boot THEN BSOD appears.

I try to change with the other memorys brand with equal modules, I'm trying to install Windows 7 64 bit, Linux 9.10 64 bit and it the same things. I try too update the BIOS but it the same thing.

I think it's remapping feature memory on bios but does not have this option.
So what I have to do?

    My laptop has now 3GB
    CPU: T2390 1, 533 Mhz 86Ghz
    CHIPSET: GM965
    RAM: 2 GB DDR2 at 533 Mhz
    HDD:Hitachi 200 GB

    After upgrade
    CPU: T8300 2.4 GHz, 800 Mhz
    RAM: 2 GB DDR2 667 Mhz
    HARD drive: Seagate 7200.4 250GB

    I really need 4 GB

    Hi mate,

I m really confused now. As a first step, you wrote that you get BSOD if you upgrade to 4 GB, but the specifications after the upgrade are really different. You have a new CPU, RAM and HARD disk with another specification.

Anyway, at first I checked the specs on the Toshiba website for your laptop and this model can only be upgraded to 2 GB; not 4 GB!
This means that you can only use two modules of 1 GB in this notebook.

Sorry, but you will not be able to use 4 GB in this model of laptop.

  • Satellite A500-1 - BSOD appears during the installation of Win XP

    Hello

When I try to install Windows XP, it displays this screen on my laptop:

    http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/5498/img0159ni.th.jpg

    Greetings

    Hello

I think that the BSOD appears because the Win XP cannot find the HARD drive due to lack of SATA driver.

    There are two solutions;

    (1) you need to add a SATA driver for Win XP (done SATA driver is part of the Intel Storage Manager)

    (2) or you need to set the Compatibility Mode AHCI SATA mode. This allows you to install the Win XP without the SATA drivers.

PS: Option of job search Forum and you will find many discussions on this topic

  • Satellite L300 PSLB8A: BSOD appears when insatlling Win XP

Old HD is dead, so bought a new one (WD 320).
Win XP Home Ed CD in the drive. Appears to begin loading, and then blue screen appears.

HD format and chkdsk without error.

    Released, still the same error.
    Any ideas?

    Hi mate

The BSOD appears because you try to install a Win XP without the SATA drivers.
You have two options to install Win XP; with and without SATA drivers.

    _Without SATA drivers: _
In this case go to BIOS (press F2) and there you have switch compatible SATA to AHCI mode.
You can install Win XP without including the SATA drivers

    _With SATA drivers. _
AHCI mode should be set in the BIOS.
Then, you must include the SATA (part of the Intel storage Manger) for Win XP drivers.
You can use nLite (this tool is free) which would help you to create a new Win XP disk with SATA drivers or you could include the SATA drivers using an external USB FDD drive.

PS: I recommend looking here in the forum for similar discussions you will find a lot of information.

  • Satellite A60 crashes with BSOD using the WLan connection

    Hello

The son laptop works well 24/7 If you use the local cable network on web access, but as soon as we install Wifi it crashes on a regular basis (2 or 3 times an hour) with BSOD error messages - normally those helps Microsoft cant (via the event viewer report) with but it is often talking about Toshiba phone services but no solution.

Tried two (netgear) pcmcia & usb (agere) wifi cards - exactly same problem can not maps.

In desperation re-formatted & resettled Xp & all drivers Toshiba of original Cd of Tosh, then Xp Sp2 & then all the updates/fixes engineering including the bios from site Web of Tosh. Still crashes.

If the software has - v installed or not makes no difference.

A 512 extra ram on top of 256 original.

    Any ideas?

Please believe me that it is not easy to say why the BSOD appears!
From my personal experience, that the BSOD can occurs because of the problem of critical software, or because of the problem of equipment.

In your case, it looks like a hardware problem (this is my personal opinion)
Generally, the laptop should work with the external WLan USB card. I put t see no reason why it shouldn't work t.

You said that you have updated the RAM on this laptop, I noticed on many laptops than similar issues after a RAM upgrade.

For example; I inserted the new 1 GB RAM on my old Satellite and received a BSOD. I used a compatible but the BSOD appeared sometimes.
After the passage of the modules to another location memory my laptop works properly!

Please check this box. Maybe you could check if the same thing happens with your old module!

    Good luck

  • My Satellite P30 keeps overheating...

    Hello

My Satellite P30 keeps overheating and stop playing computer games. I had this problem 4 months ago and sent my computer to Toshiba. They sent to me with a new fan but now 4 months later the same problem comes back again.

I doubt that the fan is broken again because I changed it about 4 months ago. I read somewhere on the internet that the problem might be rather an accumulation of dust on the heatsink. I heard that there is a problem with many Toshiba models, which will suck the air from below without filter.

If it's my problem, how can I clean my radiator?

    Thank you
    Hugo B

    Hello Hugo

The problem is not just dust. A friend of mine has a similar problem and at the end I saw that he uses his cell phone on the table with the tablecloth. The of cold air over the lower part was closed and unit was suddenly switched off.

Be also careful that your device can catch its breath and you can do a test, put on something to do with the distance between the laptop and the desktop (four books or something similar). Please try this and let me know if the problem persists.

    Good bye

  • BSOD appears on Qosmio G30 during the recovery thread closed before the resolution

I'm sorry, that I replied too soon!

Whenever I try to install a fresh Windows Vista or use the recovery CD provided with my Qosmio G30 it shows me the BSOD...

In all cases so I followed some instructions to install the RAID drivers as well and that seemed to work until to halfway through the installation it restarts (not restart usual as is normal in the installation of the OS) just randomly rebooted and said "start in safe mode / or nomally ', ' year error has occurred, insert your windows installation CD and click on fix my computer" I tried that for a while and he refuses to work all of a blow!

I couldn't t reinstall Win XP on my laptop because I used an old CD Win XP without SP2 preinstalled.
After the installation XP rebooted notebook and the BSOD appeared.

Finally I discovered I need an SP2. I ve understood my new XP CD using nLite software.
You know this program? It s for free and can be downloaded from different websites.

The fan is free from dust. I have reinstalled Windows
There is a new battery for 1 year

If the laptop is turned off, the battery can be charged. The laptop runs normally on the battery.
As soon as the power adapter is connected, the computer turns off.
When I use the computer without a battery but with the AC adapter, the computer shuts down. Test with a different AC adapter, the computer turns off.

If the cable between the motherboard and the CC is originally the problem whether it is unlikely?

Someone has an idea to help me with this problem?

    > From the moment when the AC adapter is connected, the computer turns off.
There must be some kind of electronic problem of power on the motherboard.
I put t think that the AC adapter is affected since you have already tested another (good job?) Power adapter.
I think in case of malfunction of the motherboard, the laptop fix can be a costly affair
The motherboard is one of the expensive parts for laptop and I think that that's not worth buying a new part for this old model of laptop.

  • My Dell 15R crashes if I play a game (GTA IV, II M.a.f.i.a) for about 3-4 minutes and BSOD appears

I just got a new Dell 15R (i7, 8 GB of RAM, 1 TB HDD, AMD HD 7730 M 2 GB graphics) and I tried to play M.a.f.i.a2 with and without steam and twice, after playing them for 3-4 minutes, the game crashed and BSOD appeared. It happened so in GTA IV. I've updated my graphics driver, but it made no difference. I also did a system restore, which also did not work. The error that I got from the event viewer:-System - Provider [name] Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power [Guid] {331C3B3A-2005-44C2-AC5E-77220C37D6B4} event 41 Version 2 level 1 task Opcode 0 keywords 0 63 ID x 8000000000000002 - TimeCreated [SystemTime] 2013-01 - 21 T 18: 52:05.392015600Z EventRecordID 12512 correlation - execution [ProcessID] 4 [ThreadID] 8 channels computer system Kasutaja-PC - security [UserID] S-1-5-18 - EventData BugcheckCode 278 BugcheckParameter1 0xfffffa80080424e0 BugcheckParameter2 0xfffff880015aaaf4 BugcheckParameter3 0 x 0 BugcheckParameter4 0 x 2 SleepInProgress fake PowerButtonTimestamp 0

This BSOD could be linked to the power options?

Yes. No guarantee, but when playing system emphasizing games that you want to use the High-Performance option.
The other options are there to help extend a battery charge, but you can not expect to
play these games on the battery (for long), or without as much power as possible.
Your graphics for laptops is certainly capable.

    Help, please.

    I have Satellite C850-19 q (PSCBYE-00L00GY4), Windows 8 x 64, after that I have updated to 8.1 on store, show me BSOD (atikmdag.sys system_thread_exception_not_handled).

I tried to reinstall windows and install again all drivers and updates, nothing has changed.

    Do you have any suggestions?

  • Satellite M60-169: BSOD appears after upgrade RAM to 1.5 GB

    Hello

    Satellite M60-169 got 1 GB DDR2 Samsung 533 MHz RAM-Modules (2x512MB).
    Now, I have installed a new 1 GB DDR2 Samsung 533 MHz RAM-Module (1x1024MB + orig. 1x512mo = 1, 5 GB memory)

The problem is: the system reboots before you start Windows XP or Windows Vista.
Reinstaling 2x512MB Modules: everything works fine.
Reinstall the new 1 GB Module: blue screen and reboot. :(

I tested the memory modules with memtest86 Boot-CD and all DD2-Modules work and produce no errors.
Why the new RAM is not compatible with the laptop?

The specifications of the new 1024 MB of RAM is: Samsung 1 GB 2Rx8 PC2-4200-444-12-E3 M470T2953CZ3-CD5 double sided
The specifications of the orig. 512 MB of RAM is: double-Samsung 512 MB 2Rx16 PC2-4200-444-12-A3-M470T6554CZ3-CD5

Very strange! The RAM is like the original equipped with RAM.
    Is this a BIOS problem?
If I don't just install a single module of 512 MB, the system starts without any problem. Even if I install only a single modulue of the new 1 GB of RAM, the system does not boot to Windows.

There may be a BIOS Solution for this problem in the future?, now more installed new BIOS (1.60).

    BR Pappl

    Hello

I don t think the BIOS problem.
In my opinion, there is a problem with the RAM modules.
The new module of memory is default or it s just not compatible.

Perhaps the mix of RAM is the reason for BSOD interruptions.
Have you tried to use only the new 1 GB module?
    Check it out.

I have additional checked the Web from Toshiba site Options & accessories and according to the news, you must use this memory module 1 GB:
    1 GB OF DDR2 400/533 (PA3411U-1M1G)

  • 4070CDT satellite will not start up - BSOD appears

I have an old Toshiba Satellite 4070CDT.
After you have filled the password and of meadows, enter only a blue screen is visible, and nothing else works.
Start in "Safe Mode" is not an option, it will also not work.

Anyone have an idea what is wrong?

    Hello

The Toshiba start screen appears and makes the laptop going on this?
If this isn't the case, then there could be something wrong with the hardware.
It seems that if your device fails to its POST (Power On Self Test).
In this case, the service agent must check the machine.

But first, you should check if the alternative is possible.
You plug in external devices to your laptop? If so, I would recommend disconnecting every 3rd external device.
If the laptop does not start successfully, try to recover with the recovery CD Toshiba delivered.
