Satellite M100 RAM upgrade

Hello
Just a quick question. Can I use DDR2 667 MHz 2 GB of RAM in an M100?

Apparently, it is RAM PC5300, but the manual says it is recommended that PC5400 RAM should be used.

Don't want to shell out $79 to find it does not work.

Thank you

Hello

First of all, you should check your FSB.
If the bus front end (FSB) would support the 667 Mhz then your memory installed modules would go to 667 Mhz.
But if your FSB supports only 533 Mhz and 667 Mhz modules will be reduced to 533 Mhz in modules will not work at full speed.

By the way; Are you sure you can use a 2 GB RAM module?
If your laptop can be upgraded to 2 GB only, then you must use the RAM modules of 1 GB max.

I'm looking at upgrading the Ram PC following Toshiba laptop: TOSHIBA Satellite A100 PSAA0C-LE400E

The RAM I can upgrade is as follows:
Memory slots / Max: 2 slots of RAM - bottom of the unit (available to the user), busy one with 512 MB DDR2 PC2-4200; can be filled with 128 MB, 256 MB, 512 MB, or 1 GB DDR2 (2048 MB = 1024 x 1 + 1024 MB x 1 MB Max)

    Memory: 512 MB PC2 - 4200 DDR2
Running under windows 7 32 bit

My Question is that I found Ram named series SQ G.SKILL DDR2 533 MHz (PC2-4200) 2GB SODIMM Memory (F2-4200CL4S-2GBSQ)
Where can I put in 4 GB of ram instead of 2 GB max as shown above.

I would say that if it fits it and works it should be able to use up to 3 GB of it with a 32-bit operating system but someone tried?

    Hey,.

If the so-called specifications that you can use 1 GB in each slot and a maximum capacity of 2 GB RAM, why do you buy 4 GB of RAM?
In addition on a 32-bit operating system you can use only up to 3.2 GB

In your case, I would like to purchase 2 modules of RAM with 1 GB of capacity, and it works.

I can recommend the modules of RAM Kingston, because they are quality products and never had a problem with them.

  • Satellite A100 RAM upgrade - 746

    Hey all
I have a Satellite A100 - 746. And I want to prolong her memory. But I can't find its specification anywhere on the internet. Not even on the Toshiba site. It's just like that, this model does not exist and I am the only one to buy it.
I want to upgrade my RAM and I can't find any information until I can upgrade memory, I can improve to 4 GB?
And I use the memory in pairs? As I have now 2 x 512 MB RAM. I want to delete a 512 MB and put 2 GB instead. Will it work? Or I have to use a couple?

Anyone who can help me please, I'm so frustrated.
    Thank you very much

You are right. This model laptop can handle with 4 GB RAM max. Do not use two identical RAM modules. According to the specifications of the laptop, you can use DDR2-533 RAM 1 GB module (PA3411U-2M1G). Using two of them you will have fantastic 2 GB of RAM and it is more than enough for Windows XP Home edition.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find the module of RAM 2 GB for your laptop.
You use Windows XP Home or Vista edition?

  • Re: Satellite M100 - Memory Upgrade - Recovery CD

I want to upgrade memory. It would affect my recovery process because it allows to detect a different set of equipment being installed?

Another question is, does anyone know how to recover your Windows product key, as I only have the XP Recovery CD. Lost the box.

    Thank you

    Hello

Just a few answers to your questions:
    > It would affect my recovery process because it allows to detect a different set of equipment being installed?
N ° upgrade RAM has no influence on the recovery procedure. Just be sure that you are using compatible RAM modules
    > Does anyone know how to recover your Windows product key, as I only have the XP Recovery CD
When you use original CD facilities of Toshiba Recovery for your model Mobile you did you need to activate it using the Windows key.

  • Options for Satellite U200 RAM upgrade

    Hello

I read a few posts here, but I'm a noob of material and you want to be absolutely sure I chose the right RAM module.

I want to be exactly if the module I buy will work with my computer laptop u200 (especially not the damage, if that's even possible).

    I'm looking at _Kingston 2 GB 200 pin PC2-5300 DDR2 SODIMM_

    Found here:
    101436 http://www.FutureShop.ca/catalog/prodDetail.ASP?logon=&langid=en&sku_id=0665000FS10 & catid =

Please let me know if you need more details.

    Thank you!

    Hello

According to specification for laptop, your laptop uses the module DDR2 - 533 MHz RAM. There's Kingston 667 MHz, but it will work on your laptop without problem.

So, but there is something else: I don't know which U200 you but it seems to be that your laptop can be upgraded up to 2 GB max. So, in my opinion, you should buy two 1 GB Rams. If you want to buy tested one, to check for the DDR2-533 1 GB with PA3411U-2M1G part number.

  • S1000-Z2 satellite drivers & ram upgrade

    Hello world
I was invited by a friend to fix his old laptop! It seems to be out of the Ark, however :-)

He had a pre-installation of XP home, which seems to be rather drunk, I decided to format and reinstall...

The problem is that I can't find the modem driver? As the laptop does not appear in the drop on the Toshiba site lists...

Also someone known all the details on the amount of ram may take? There are currently 1 stick of 256 MB installation and a slot empty if cpuZ does not lie to me.

    Any help would be great?

    Portable full details:
    Toshiba Satellite S1000-Z2
    Model No.: PS100E-001RE-EN
    Series: 42064989C

    Hello

Maybe you need to download the drivers for the modem from here:

    http://209.167.114.38/support/download/ln_byModel.asp

They have for most of the drivers that are not on the site of toshiba Europe.

I hope you find what you need.

On your RAM issue, I think that the machine can handle a maximum of 1 GB, so you can install at least two 512 MB modules in this machine.

  • Satellite M70: RAM upgrade

My laptop only has 512 MB and a Crucial Scan, said the following:

    Currently installed memory:
    512 MB
    DDR PC2-5200
    VACUUM

Memory each slot can hold DDR2 PC2-4200, DDR2 PC2-5300 with a maximum of 1 GB per slot.*

Yes, after looking on the ebuyer page: http://www.ebuyer.com/store/Componen...ptop?refmen=tn

What should I be looking for to get? I want 2GB in total and this: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/106116 seems to be the cheapest option for my needs. Is it right for my laptop?

I thought that this laptop only supports 4200 as a max?
But nevertheless, your choice should be very well and your laptop should manage modules.

Don't forget the 2 GB maximum, so 1 GB for each slot machine.

I have a Satellite M100-166 (PSMA1E-01X00TPL) with 2x512MB of RAM (DDR2). I would like to upgrade to 2x2gb, but there is a problem.

    Hello

I think that there are different configurations of hardware M100.
This means that different M100 supports different chipsets and that is why you can find various information on the upgrade of RAM.

For me, it seems that the Satellite M100-166 could be upgraded to 4 GB of RAM.
The chipset seems to confirm this value, it should be possible to get 4 GB of RAM.

  • Satellite M100/200 PSMAAA RAM issue and replacement keyboard

For the last year my satellite M100/200 PSMAAA-022006 worked rather slow, it takes a long time to open programs and sometimes crashes.
So I intend to make a recovery of the system at the end of the school term.

Now, I think I have a bit of extra ram, I don't want to have to go deep into my laptop and put it under my keyboard, so I'll just put it in the free space below the friendly place. I don't know what kind of ram it will take care of my system with 512 venus, then would it be appropriate put a 1 GB Stick? I can't find a manual on the Toshiba page so I'm not aware of what my system can handle and what kind of ram I can install myself.

So the question is. How much ram can I put in and what kind.

Also months ago I removed some keys to remove hair and lint on my keyboard, those General in the middle of the keyboard were easy to replace but my key "1" would not, so I removed the '2' thinking if I can work on how we worked the other should do the same.

So now I'm stuck with not one or two keys, which I have now lost. The membrane on my a key ripped off also so now there are just the small piece of circuit showing. I thought that if I can remove the piece of plastic on the keys it might let me get the angle right them suddenly on.

Should I take my laptop in a repairman and let them sort it out?

    Hello

You can replace plastic key keyboards plugs, but you will not be able to replace the simple buttons
So, if the only keyboard button doesn t work, then you need a new keyboard.
Akuma is right you should get in touch with the ASP to replace!

The M100 should accept 2 GB of RAM (2 x 1 GB) I googled a little and some were abele to upgrade!

  • Satellite R630-13F - RAM upgrade

    Hi all

My R630 is faced with a newly added software for Photoshop (CS5 version). Whenever it is quite slow to open and try to merge the picture for the economy.

I was wondering if I can upgrade the RAM. With a very limited knowledge, I would like to know if I need to buy an additional (if there is a vacancy for it), or I need to get one to replace the old.

I think increasing the memory to 4 GB, but I was wondering if it will be enough for Photoshop. Thanks a lot for any input.

    Best wishes

    Tim

    Hey Buddy,

RAM upgrade is not a problem because it is easy and can be done in a few minutes.

Satellite R630 has Intel HM55 chipset, and the maximum capacity is 8 GB. This means that you can install 4GB module in each memory location. Also an upgrade to 4 GB is not a problem, you can keep your 2 GB module and just buy a new 2 GB module. The module DDR3-10066 part number is PA3676U-1M2G.

If you have more questions just after, again :)

  • Satellite Pro M50 - upgrade RAM does not fit

Hi, I'm looking to upgrade the ram in a Satellite Pro M50, I bought a stick of crucial but although he mounted in the slot (and was regarded as the correct product) machine didn't post with it, I bought another stick (different brand) and installed this but get the same problem. Looking at it, I noticed that the notch in the existing stick of 256 MB is a bit (a few mm) out against the new stick and of course although they fit into the slot, the actual pins on the stick won't line up properly.

Is this a known issue? Do I have to buy a specific brand of RAM in order to modernize the system? Crucial guarantee their RAM to work, very unusual that it didn't work that way for this system of tosh.

Thanks in advace to anyone who can enlighten us!

    GYS

    Hi GYS

S let speak quite clearly, for RAM upgrade, you must use compatible RAM modules. I hope you know what that means compatibility work.
So if you want to be sure you are using the right RAM modules and compatible I recommend modules memory live 1024Mo PC2700 to use with the PA3313U-2M1G part number.

You can upgrade your laptop up to 1 GB of RAM and using two of these modules, you will be able to use maximum RAM and also make sure that the Rams will be suitable for your system.
