Satellite M115 - no sound after upgrading Windows XP to Windows 7

Hi all

Recently upgraded my Satellite of Windows XP to Windows 7 Enterprise 32-bit. After installation, the high definition Audio Device appears in Device Manager.

Initially, I had an unknown device listed, but that has been resolved by the installation of the pilot site supervisor password utility from Toshiba. Since then, I have experimented with a number of audio drivers without result. Does anyone have advice?

I downloaded the Conextant 4.8.0.0 pilots, who are not out during installation by saying "Driver Installation Failed: could not find the device for this driver." So now, I'm sitting here without any noise. It's sad. Please help and I'll give you points.

Hello

Remove all audio drivers, you have already installed, reboot the laptop and download an audio driver for the Toshiba driver page

For European models, take a look here:

For Canadians or something like this:

    Hello:

I recommend that you try the audio driver IDT W8.1 support page for your laptop.

    This works in most cases.

This package contains the driver that allows Audio IDT high definition (HD) in the notebook models that are running a supported operating system.

    File name: sp58406.exe

If the W8.1 driver does not have the noise at work, try this...

Go to Device Manager and click to expand the category of audio, video and game controllers device.

    1. click on the Audio CODEC of IDT high definition in Device Manager.

    2. click on the driver tab.

    3. click on Update Driver...

4-> select Browse my computer for driver software.

    5. Select-> Let pick me from a list of drivers for devices on my computer.

    6. Select Audio device high definition (not IDT high def...)  "This is important). and click Next.

Warning message is displayed, but the answer Yes.

    Hello

I noticed very strange and different problems after downgrade to XP.
And to be honest, the question of his No. is not uncommon.

You know that some series of portable needs a special version of the BIOS after installing Windows XP or Windows Vista. It is important to use the right BIOS!

In addition, you should be sure you used the right and compatible Realtek audio driver.
If you need to download a new one from the Realtek page.

Last but not least you must update the operating system to the State.
To do this, use this MS page:

    Hi, Erin:

Two other members of the forum lost sound on a computer desktop and laptop PC with the IDT audio controller after upgrading to W10.

What has worked for them was to install the audio driver IDT W8.1 support their PC and driver page.

  • Satellite L750-1E5 - no sound after upgrade Windows 10

Installed 10 yesterday and immediately lost my wireless connection. Who decided to roll back the wireless network card driver in Device Manager.

Second problem - no sound from the speaker is internal, but Device Manager reports no problem with its controller...

"My Toshiba" app reports L750 not supported for Windows 10?

Can someone help to solve the noise problem please?

Second problem - no sound from the speaker is internal, but Device Manager reports no problem with its controller...

Even if the error is not visible in the Device Manager, it would be a good idea to uninstall the audio driver of the peripheral zone manager → sound video controller and game.

After restarting again the system should automatically search for updates and new driver.

Of course, the unit should always be connected to the internet.

I really need help from anyone out there. I installed Windows XP Home edition on my Toshiba Satellite L40 after that I realized, there is no sound. I tried to install all kinds of updates, drivers and all, but still nothing.

All make me is that I have no audio device.
Grateful for the help as soon as possible.
    Holla.

Do you have the yellow marks in Device Manager?
Are you sure that you have installed all the drivers?

Have you installed SP2 or SP3 for Windows XP? You must at least use SP2 for XP.

And as said Akuma, check the Microsoft KB to the hoftixes. Before you apply this update, you must remove the driver. Otherwise it will not work.

You can also search in the forum, there are already discussions on this topic.

  • Satellite Pro L40 - sound after installing Windows XP SP3 driver

    Hello

I bought the Satellite Pro L40 about 6 months ago and the speed of the laptop is too slow with windows Vista. So I decided to install an old copy of windows XP that I had purchased earlier. I updated the windows SP3 installation before installing the drivers.

Now, all the drivers have been installed correctly except the audio driver. I downloaded the XP version of the driver on the toshiba site, but it did not work. So I though that maybe the vista version would work, so I downloaded that. But that no longer works.

Can someone suggest a solution where I can get the audio driver to work? Preferably without having to get the reinstalled windows again.

    Please help me...!

    Thank you

Go to your computer manufacturer's support web site and search for Windows 7 drivers for your specific model number.

If there are Windows 7 drivers, then download to a folder on your hard drive and install all of them, starting with the mother/chipset, SATA, LAN card drivers, Audio, USB, graphics, Webcam, Etc., and so on.
