    Hi niixsy,

I'm pretty sure that a certain program blocks the closing process in your case I would look in the Windows Event Viewer. There you can find all the logs on your laptop and maybe you'll see a notification which program blocks this process.

  • Satellite M200 - cannot install the WiFi XP driver

    Hello

I recently acquired a Satellite M200 (PSMC0A-02G00M) a friend off the coast and decided this downgrade to XP. This model also has bluetooth. All the drivers work well, with the exception of a Wi - Fi connection - I install bluetooth, which works quite well. When I flick the Wi - Fi switch, this also seems to turn on Bluetooth power.

Windows XP does not detect the integrated Wi - Fi. If you have any ideas, it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    Sam

    Hi sam.mul,

I think that you need to install the WLAN driver before you can use the internal WIFI card. Have you already installed it?

You can download it on the Toshiba site. After that, it should be possible to use the WLAN card.

I have a problem with my Toshiba Satellite M200 Notebook (running Windows 7 Home Premium)

After I press the power button to the top of my laptop, it works fine display BIOS and Windows startup screen.
but after that my monitor off all of a sudden when Windows is supposed to show the login screen.

    Sometimes, the monitor doesn't turn off, but shows a lower resolution (I don't know exactly what resolution, 1024 x 768 or 800 x 600, i use maybe 1280 x 800)
so the only thing I can do is, press the power button to stop bad then press power again turns on, my monitor works normally
try to stop and then turn on again in a few hours later, problems still comes once.

from the moment where I install Windows 7, I use 8.15.10.1930 version of the driver (downloaded from Download Center of Intel, which included Assistant TV Intel)
2 days ago, my friend told me that I should install the driver from the Toshiba site support, so I went to csd.toshiba.com and download the 8.15.10.1825 version of this site (which is not included Assistant TV Intel)

my monitor works normally after I installed the driver I of csd.toshiba.com, so I think that the problem because the Intel TV Wizard somehow messed with my laptop. But this morning this problem once again, my turns just monitor suddenly...

and am I need to replace my battery too?

I use this laptop for about a year and a half and there is nothing wrong with my battery before replacing the motherboard

any help would be appreciated :D

    Hello

Talk about your screen, the a graphics driver causes this malfunction with resolution and turn off. Go to the page of the toshiba driver and download the correct Vga driver for your model. I see, you are running Windows 7, if there is no driver for win7, try the vista driver.
On your power supply, you have used for the year and a half and he is released in 20 minutes, there is nothing strange. It's standard for power supply operating period, need to be replaced. Just to be sure, you can check with a new battery. You will see that the trick works as expected.

  • Satellite M200 - start screen to flick on and outside and then just off

I think I'm having the same problem and might be able to explain a little better

I have the satellite M200 and a few months ago my screen began to sweep to power on and off and then just go empty and if I closed the laptop for a few seconds and re open it back upward with the desktop display

I still have some questions, and I still need help too though since my screen stopped working all together.
However in the right light, I can still see the images, just.

I plugged a monitor into the port on the side and it was working fine, through which until recently and now every monitor I plug usually work unless my laptop is in safe mode with network and even then it is all fuzzy and fragile

Any help would be great thanks

I hope I explained this problem with sufficient detail

    Hello

To me, this looks like a graphics card problem.
This would explain why the display on an external monitor is unstable and fuzzy

This means that it is the worst case why? Because the chip graphic card cannot be replaced
The entire motherboard must be replaced to solve the problem of gpu
and this can be a costly affair. :(

  • Satellite M200 suddenly stops

Just a question, if someone has an idea of what is wrong with my laptop. I use satellite M200 + Vista home edition for like 6 months and it wasn't a problem before.

Now, my problem is that my laptop turns off suddenly without warning or signs.
My laptop can stay for about 1 hour, I activated the option to, and there is nothing wrong with the setting.

So, if someone has an idea, maybe I can help.

    See you soon.

There s nothing wrong with your power supply, battery or something else.
This problem looks more like a laptop overheating.

The laptop stops automatically to prevent the equipment from damage.
I think the laptop overheats because fans don t run with maximum efficiency because of the dust and debris inside the laptop.

What you could do is to clean the fan using a jet of compressed air.
This spray is a professional cleaning tool and might buy at computer stores the most

  • Satellite L40 don't stop with power connected and is not in sleep mode

Hello world. I hope someone can help me. Basically, there are two problems: one with judgment of the laptop (Satellite L40 - 17U (Vista 32 bit Home Premium SP1)) down when power is connected and the other with closing the lid and put it to sleep.

    1. in recent weeks, it all of a sudden won't stop, whenever power is connected. When it's on battery, it will stop. When the power is connected, and I try to stop, it seems that it closed down (all activity stops and the led goes off) for about 1 or 2 seconds, then it goes back.

    2. when I close the lid (all settings in Vista are set to put the laptop in a State of 'sleep' when the lid is closed), the laptop enters a State where it cannot be recovered by stopping by pressing the power button for 10 seconds to close completely. When closing the cover, only the battery LED continues to Flash orange (the way it should be), but apparently the laptop keeps consuming power, because when I restart later (first having to close as described above) tends to be quite an empty battery as it was before the next redΘmarrage it (like go from 100% to 65% in 30 minutes as "standby mode"). Also, when I open the cover, the other LEDS will on new (green), but nothing happens.
After the restart first by pressing the power button for 10 seconds to close, I often get the message that Windows cannot be started and run the system repair.

I just do a completely clean install with the product recovery CD (has not installed SP1 yet), updated to v1.90 BIOS, but the problem remains.

I'm afraid that my only option will be to bring him away for a warranty repair, but knowing that these repairs can take weeks, I'd rather try a solution here could someone recommend me first. If you have any ideas, please let me know.

    Thank you
    Daniel Breslauer

    Hi guys

Never had this problem on my laptop, but with regard to an other users here in the forum the BIOS might help solve such strange behavior for laptop
To be honest the closed question is unclear for me I noticed a problem before on my laptop but the update of the BIOS helped.

This is why I recommend update BIOS first.
If the problem still appears, the ASP should take a look in the notebook.

    Good luck

  • Close, do NOT restart, Firefox, WITHOUT reboot (or log off) Windows.

I want to stop, NOT reboot, all open Firefox windows and tabs, WITHOUT reboot (or log off) Windows. That's all. Thank you.

Have you tried one of them:

  • Can I install Linux in Satellite M200?

    Hi all

I want to install Linux in Satellite M200, but I don't know it's the driver in charge or not, please give me advice.

    Thank you
    Nhanntit

Of course, you can install Linux on the Toshiba laptop.
BUT you won't find any driver Toshiba or tools for the Linux operating system.

Toshiba does not support official Linux and that's why the pilots are not released.
You will need to use the Linux drivers from chipmaker like Intel IE

A hint; I use the Knoppix Live CD I n t need to install anything. I boot from this CD and the functional complete using Linux ca ;)

  • Satellite C50 won't boot to the top

    Hello

My son satellite C50 won't boot to the top. It is connected to the power grid and will arrive at the password screen but as soon as you type goes into shutdown. Any suggestions please?

    Thanks in advance.

You write about Windows or BIOS password?

In any case, on this virtual path, it is not easy to give an exact explanation what can be wrong there.
Your son of many important data stored on this machine? If this isn't the case, you should try to reinstall the OS and test it with the factory settings.

What you can try is to enter the BIOS settings and leave the machine 5 minutes to see if cell phone will go OFF. If this isn't the case, set the BIOS to the default settings and try again.

Is the cooling fan may be strong at the start of the machine?

  • Satellite M200 - Windows Explorer; alleged motherboard failure

My Satellite M200 works on 32 bit; The OP is Vista Home Basic.

For the last two months I had messages that windows Explorer has stopped working... windows explore restarts etc.
After efforts to find a solution, I took my laptop to a local technician, to find a solution to the problem and to upgrade RAM. The problem continued, and he advised that the motherboard is faulty.

The intention had been to reformat computer technology however, or I can get to the startup section; Windows itself continues to operate.
RAM has been successfully extended to 2g. My computer tech had tried to upgrade to 4g even if the laptop is only 32-bit - to my knowledge capable of only 2g of RAM.
He said he changed the BIOS according to the instructions of Toshiba to try installing 4 g; but only 2g works.

I also tried to install Nero9, supposed to be compatible with Vista. On the first attempt, 4 hours later only 9% had installed; When subsequent attempts after 45 minutes, only 6%.
This program has been installed successfully on computers running XP.
I tried to send this message before, but he did not appear on the forum. My apologies if you are reading this (abridged version) version for yet another time.

    camerc

    Hi mate

The use of 4 GB depends on three factors; Operating system, Chipset and BIOS.
All these parts must support the 4 GB if you want to use.

The 32-bit Windows OS (no matter if it s Win XP or Vista) would recognize only 3.2 GB.
So, even you would have a BIOS and capable chipset, the OS appear only 3.2 GB if it s 32-bit.

I put t know what chipset using your laptop but if it s one of the Intel chipsets then all the details can be found on the Intel page. There you can check if your chipset would support 4 GB of RAM or not.

  • Satellite Pro A210 periodically stop the monitor

Hi, my computer laptop Satellite Pro A210 periodically stop his monitor. I can work now what, whether it seems no matter what I do, the monitor turns off just.
I checked the Device Manager and there is no device showing conflict. I bought the new laptop about six weeks ago and it is very annoying that it does. Anyone had similar problems with their A210?

I contacted Toshiba and I hope that they will be committed to fix my laptop.

    Thank you.

This is very interesting thread because I m the owner of a Satellite A210 with dual OS (Vista and XP) and didn t notice such problem with XP or Vista.

Of course, the screen goes black after a while but this is related to my energy saving settings. I ve set the power of my wide display settings to save power while working on the battery.

I don't know if this could be the reason for your question, but it's certainly an option m.

You can also try to update the BIOS and the graphics driver to check if it would help solve the problem you also.

    Good luck to you

  • How to set the printer wireless ad Hoc mode to CP1025nw with automatic stop is off? IE never automatic.

How to set the printer wireless ad Hoc mode to CP1025nw with automatic stop is off? IE never automatic.

Thank you very much for your help, if necessary.

Quite a few questions, send, but I will do what I can to answer them.

I recommend first to buy a router, even if it's one you won't connect to internet and it network with others your PC and printer. This will give you the best features and the results of what you're trying to do.

In addition, the automatic stop of the printer function can be disabled and is not affected by the type of connection. Usually, you can go through the configuration Menu and select tools to change the options there on the energy saving features.

Finally, the auto off function on your computer is a Windows question, but one easy answer. If you're on a laptop, you can right click on the battery in the tray (lower right corner) and change the settings for energy conservation.

You might be better off installing the printer via the USB cord and alternately inspiring when you use it, but which is not optimal if you are printing only a few documents on an irregular basis. A network connection is the easiest to manage across multiple computers, honesty, but you have certain requirements for this connection and limits as well.

I hope this information is useful!

  • Windows Vista hanging at "Logging Off" of the prcoess judgment stage.

At the stop, Windows went to automatically install updates and shut down my Dell portable computer. But he is now stuck at the step "Logging Off" and not shut down, even after hours. When I stopped manually and restart, it just goes back to the "Logging Off" screen and I can't do anything else. Several shops here have said they need to do a thorough cleaning of the hard repair disk in order.  Really? Is there another way to get the computer to block this process?  Thank you.

    Amanda,
If you are still having this problem then validate with what version of Windows you are using.  First thing to try is to start on the Advanced Boot options , and select the last known good configuration.  If this does not work, then try to start safe mode.  Let us know the status.
