  I agree with Maurice. If the drive can read a recovery media or any other bootable media there must be a hardware problem and I assume that the optical disk drive is defective.

  I have a Satellite Pro M10 and my infrared does not work. I downloaded the zip file with the drivers from this site. Then, I uninstalled and reinstalled, but it always happens in the Device Manager under "unknown - SMC IrCC - Fast Port infrared (IR Module: HP). (with an exclamation point).   Last week, I bought my Toshiba Satellite Pro L300.
  I have had no operating system with the laptop, but I had my own XP, so I changed the SATA drives in compatibility mode and installed windows XP Pro.

  It looks like a hardware problem. At whatever it is connected to the USB ports at the time? Could you check the USB ports visually and see if they are damaged or wobbly. It is a bit of a long shot, but you may have a short circuit decision and which could disable the USB.
  If the motherboard is damaged then outside fixing/replace your only option would be a PCMCIA USB card, they are not expensive.

  In the system.ini should the vcache is also the same: MinFileCache = 16384, MaxFileCache = 16384
  Disable the peripherals such as scanner, printer.

  As you can see, these issues could occur on all computers (desktop and laptop) and it s is not a problem of Toshiba. Also, contact the manufacturer for support external audio device and detailed information.

  Just discovered cd-rom not working not on U500 PSU9MA - 00K 013, checked Device Manager and uninstalled the driver reinstalled + restarted and still does not.

  Get the error code 39. CD-ROM seems to open okay and the light turns on this subject but not reading/reading cd when inserted. Drive appears in Windows Explorer either. Windows 7-32 bit (service pack 1).

  After reading your ad, I tested BT with my S50 - B Satellite and I noticed the same situation.

  The first thing I did was check software BT. Originally was pre-installed Intel Bluetooth Filter Driver Package 3.0.1342.02 version. I ve removed from the system and installed Intel version 17.0.1428.01.

  If it does not work for you there is nothing you can do about it. Cooling fan is controlled by sensors on the motherboard.

  Try to reduce activity and closing some additional applications that make the CPU/GPU busy. Be as safe as the computer s laptop cooling grilles are not blocked somehow. It is very important to make them free.
  On my old L300 fan was too strong but the method of cooling option helped a little.
