Satellite M30 display fall

Today, after almost two years of use without any problems, the led on my Satellite M30 901 crashed. Start using normally the laptop, the screen become "unstable", tremoring, vertical lines appeared, the brightness of the background changed successively on white green, purple, blue then normal, it was like looking through smog. Then he froze. I restarted the computer laptop, worked a bit and crashed in the same way. After the third restart normal, the problem appeared since the first image when starting. I tried to use an external monitor, but it does not work. Any ideas? Could this be the motherboard or the screen itself. I treated my laptop with great care, did not hit or drop it. Anyy suggestions or similar behavior? What is a defective graphics card? Thank you ver much!

Hello

Well, it's not easy to say what may be the problem. It s certainly a hardware fault but I t can give you a detailed response. You need a diagnostic test that can be done in ASP.
In my opinion, you should ask the partner to Toshiba service for detailed information.
Maybe it's s inverter only one FL or one of the cables is loose, but for this info, you should ask the ASP.

Good bye

Is it possible to make the new drivers to work with my laptop?

    Hello

You can try to install the graphics driver on the nVidia site.
If the installation configuration does not let you to install the driver automatically then you should try to install the driver manually. In Device Manager, select the graphics card and manually choose the source of the graphic driver.

In other cases you may install the driver from the site omegadrivers.net

  • No satellite M30 604 no display & beeps at startup

When I turn on my Toshiba Satellite M30 604, there is no display and it is 1 long beep and 2 short beeps

I know that is not the problem of memory, because I replace it.
When I remove all memory other beeps can be heard.

    Anyone know what the beeps.

    What can I do?

I think the beep code is a graphic chip problem. My other laptop (not a Toshiba) gave the same error beep, I had to replace the motherboard.

    Hello

Have you checked the properties of the graphics card?
As far as I know on some M30 with a Geforce Go5x00 you can change the mode options full screen in the overlay controls
Also, check if a screen mode option is available on your DVD player application.
However, if you find any options then I think that it is not possible to change the size of display in 16:10 format.

When you start your laptop without external display can you see anything?

  • Satellite M30, screen remains sometimes almost black after start up to several minutes

    Satellite M30, WinXP

Sometimes, the screen remains dark, which means that you can see that a little bit news startup in the background and also the Office of windows, up to 2 minutes before suddenly become really turned on.
Not even the latest version of the BIOS has a change. And what's weird, is it still does not appear. A non stop-and-shut-down-start sequence showed that it appears about 2 to 3 times.
    What could be the reason?

    Hi LeTom,

did you use the os recovery toshiba or a clean install?

It seems that the display shows a fault, then here are a few questions to play safely!

There the failure also occure when the Red Toshiba logo appears shortly after starting start?

If you are using a clean install of the OS, you need to do a complete new installation with the Toshiba Recovery CD (attention all data will be lost, make a backup).
Then, the laptop is set back to the default settings of the software and if the failure occurred, you should check the material by a Toshiba service partner!

I think that the M30 is still under warranty!

  • Satellite M30: colored lines running vertically on the screen

    Hello

Ive had a problem with the display on my satellite M30. I can start in fine etc windows but colorful lines going up and down my screen, as well as the general artifacts. I cant even install drivers nvidia without a blue screen.

The strange thing is that if I apply pressure to the left side of my touchpad, I install the drivers and all is well! Release the pressure and the computer crashes. Ive opened the laptop and can't find anything that could be the cause.

    Any idea here?

    Maki43

    Hello

You can check if the problem is related to the LCD or the graphics card.
Try to connect the external monitor and check if the lines appear on the second screen.
If the lines appear not the graphics card should be ok.

Have you tried to install the graphics driver on the Nvidia site? These drivers are not designed for use on the Toshiba laptop. You must use own graphics drivers of Toshiba, because drivers support a protection against overheating.
If the temperature rises to highest, the Toshiba drivers critical level will be decrease the performance of the graphics card.
Other graphics drivers don t support that such function and, therefore, the graphics chip can overheat!

In any case, I think that also the technician must check the laptop

  • The screen is black, but working satellite M30

I have a satellite M30, I was watching a movie through another monitor when the battery is dead.

Now, when I restart, the screen is blank. If I attach to the other monitor it works fine, but pressing the "Fn + F5" key will not bring my screen to life.

    All ideas are welcome.

    Hello

The Fn + F5 key combination is one of the two screen options for change.

I think that you will find an option to change the display in the properties of the graphics.
You must mark the monitor 1 and check the use this device as the primary monitor

I think that this should allow the screen of the laptop.

Unfortunately, the display on a Satellite M30 (PSM30E-7101Y-GR) is broken. Well, to change it would not be a great thing, but I would like to know what screen models when used on this Version (for example is it possible to build in a style of glare panel without changing other things) or to simply find out which would be the cheapest possible display.

Does anyone have a list of views that are used for this model?

    Hello

I think that the laptop comes with a 15.4 wide TFT color display screen "(1280 x 800) screen."
In my opinion, you can use most of the 15.4 screens.
But be aware that the display is one of the most expensive neighborhoods that are used on the laptop.

On some sites, I found this K000009690 part number.

    Hope this helps a little

  • Satellite M30-S309 - certain proportions on external monitor not right

    Hello world.

I have a Satellite M30-S309 that I just started to use it with an external monitor: a 191EW9 of Philips, which has a maximum resolution of 1368 x 768. The built-in monitor is 16 "; the new external monitor is 18.5 ".
The computer has the driver for the new monitor, but with a few photos of the proportions are obviously not right.

Anyone know of any way to solve this problem? Or it's an old computer like this all simply not up to handle this type of monitor?

A solution would be much appreciated.

    Hello

Can you please explain what you mean with certain proportions are not suitable?
You can choose the native screen resolution of the external display or use another resolution of the screen?

To me that sounds like this, you use a wrong setting. On the screen you can change the width, height and to this day. You should check these options.

    Welcome them

  • How to use the external screen with my Satellite M30?

Hi guys, I have the following problem:

I have a portable Satellite M30-642 former. My keyboard it is completely broken (spilled something on it) so I use an external USB keyboard.

Now that I bought a TFT I wanted to use it as a primary device, so I need to take the laptop to the external output.
The laptop itself recognizes as a secondary screen already, but this isn't what I want.
Problem is I can't switch from the display without the FN key devices!

I tried to search the net and this forum - but the solution posted does not work for the M30. There is no option in the utility of HW and not in the BIOS to enable the external keyboard support.
Please is there any other combination of keys that would work or a software utility that allows me to turn on? It's a really bad situation for me :(

    All solutions anyone? :(

    Greetings and thanks in advance

    Hello

Please don't be crazy on me but I write here very often and somehow try to help, but I'm still irritated if someone thinks that anything is possible. Unfortunately, you have to accept that sometimes there is hardware limitation and there is nothing to do.
I want to talk about primary and secondary monitor.

On most laptops, the LCD is always set as primary and cannot be changed. So, as far as I know, without using the FN + F5 key combination you extend the desktop to external display and use both of them. Using display settings you should be able to switch to an external display only (display control panel settings NVIDIA advance settings and so on). Please test only because I don't have M30, but the principle is used the same.

If you will be able to use external display only try to restart your laptop and see on which screen the office will be shown. If you will be lucky and office will be shown on the external display, try to extend the desktop to second monitor (laptop LCD).

    Good bye

  • Satellite M30: How disable the BIOS boot password?

    Hello

Before my vacation, I activated the startup password in the Bios. Now I want to turn this off, but it does not work. In the Bios, I can go to the Security tab, but I can't change the settings with the F5/F6 key or space. A beep is all I get. Entering on this point, I wonder to set a new password.

Anyone know how to disable the password for a Satellite M30? Please note that I have not forgotten my password, I can always start the machine.

    THX,

    Werner.

PS On this forum, I don't see any topic title, only the name of the authors. Is always normal? It is very convenient that way, but maybe it is related to my pc.

    Hello

I found a step by step explanation to clear a BIOS password:

"Turning on the computer from a State"off"with the ESC key. You are asked "password =". "

Enter the password, and then press ENTER. The unit will display: "the valid password is entered, the system starts up. Check the system. Press key (F1). »

Press the F1 key. This will start the device in the BIOS Setup mode.

Using the arrow keys or tab, move to the password field and select REGISTERED.

Press the SPACE bar, enter the password, and then press ENTER. For now, the password field is transformed into NON REGISTERED. »

    Hope this will help you.

  • Connection WIFI on Satellite M30

    Hello
I have the Satellite M30 with an Intel PRO Wireless 2200BG Driver version 8.1.0.26 adapter set the driver installation was successful, but when I click on connect it displays unavailable connection. but one of my friends uses his computer laptop connecting to the same net work and it also displays 'network connection out of range box' I am UNABLE to GET WHATS PAST MY LAN CONNECTION IS CONNECTED to the SAME NETWORK IT IS WORKING GUD.

    CLEARLY ON MY SIDE
MY WLAN BUTTON IS IN THE MODE
LAN IS DISCONNECTED FROM THE PC
    LAN CONNECTION WORKS
ONE OF MY ROOMMATE IS USING THE SAME NETWORK WITH WLAN

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Hello

On this path, it is not easy to give a precise answer, but in my opinion the reason for this is a false setting on your router. Please remove password for your WLAN (if persist) and start by simply configuring. The settings on your router are not known to me, but you can try to configure the router on the factory restore and try to establish the connection.

If you use PPPoE connection type don t forget the IP address must be set on automatically.

    Good bye

  • Satellite M30-304 - strange questions after BIOS update

    Hi all

I updated my BIOS according to the good driver for Satellite M30. However, since this operation took the endless problems with screen and wireless card. Also the screen used to display flash BIOS only now them a Centrino, Centrino logo sometimes sometimes Mr. Pentium, I don't know that the version of BIOS is incorrect for my laptop. If I try to re - install the upgrade, it is said version already installed 1.7, so will not continue.

    1. is there a way to force the re - install the same version?
    2. someone can the upgrade me of the correct BIOS Setup for the model n ° PSM30E-0QKJ1-5U, I installed the version was 20070807154017

The history is quite interesting. AFAIK Centrino logo is there if the Centrino platform is in use.

    The Centrino platform consists of:
    an Intel Pentium M processor
a chipset Intel 855 of the series
    an Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 or later 2200 (IEEE 802 11 b) mini-PCI wireless adapter

If a component is removed (Intel PRO/Wireless mini-PCI wireless adapter) the Centrino logo will disappear. I don't really know why logo is from time to time, but you did the right BIOS update. There is no other for your laptop model.

Can you please tell me what is the problem with your wireless network adapter? You can use just sporadically or what?
