  Sometimes a bios update has solved many issues about installing new hardware.

  BUT Please note: the Bios has a limitation of size of HARD drive support. Not all sizes are supported. I guess that the 120 GB are too big and therefore you can not use it!

  You must switch to a smaller size. Check with a 80 or 100 GB HARD drive

  As far as I know there should be a CD that was shipped with this card.
  There you should find the drivers for this card. If the drivers on the CD don t work then try to update with the latest version.

  I hope someone can help. The reader above will not now recognize any media inserted. He snores for awhile then stops. I cleaned the lens and cross also support and diagnostic tests and they cannot me more help.

  I also reinstalled the driver but no joy.
  This means a new DVD/cd drive is necessary?
  It is removable of the laptop and easily replaceable?
  Where I would get the part - M * a DVD ROM UJ-82OS?

  How much would it cost?

  I think that different readers are compatible with this laptop. So I can t give you and advice how much it costs but the best answer you'll get the Toshiba service partner in your country

  But the slim laptop drives are usually a little more expensive than shared drives for desktop computers

  I've had my laptop A100 little over 3 years now and there is a moment he began to stop loading when I lit.   The battery is no longer in charge right now that when I plug in my laptop it trying to load (but it remains at 0%). The computer will work without batteries.

  There are many reasons that can cause this kind of behavior...
  -Make sure that the hard drive is free of errors
  -check if the battery is ok (check the duration)
  -load for 24 hours
  -check the memory (ramtest)
  in many cases the hard disk has errors, bad would be a damaged mainboard...
  but without checking the components, you will not be able to determine the "real"...

  ask a help servicepartner

  perhaps only the battery is bad...
  start the laptop without battery and watch if failures happen again.

  Since yesterday I have Blue Screen Of Death, a few minutes after the beginning of my Satellite M30x. The error code is 0xC4.

  Sometimes IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I used the CD to reset the default settings, but now the image is the same: blue screens, until Windows has finished starting.
  But if I use the F8 key to get the protected mode there is no problem. Please help me solve the problem!

  I think you should check if the BSOD issue could be resolved using new memory modules RAM.
  I remember my old laptop had a similar problem. The OS crashed and nothing has worked. The question was about the faulty RAM module.
  I first checked how the laptop would be using RAM that one alone. This helped to discover how faulty RAM module.
  Then I replaced the RAM and re-tested

  Since the notebook then run as it should.

  I am owner of a Satellite M30X - 122 Notebook with Mat * one reader CD DVD-RAM UJ-820 s.

  In recent weeks the disc suddenly stops working during normal use, no error message, in Windows XP System Device Manager all entries are ok, the drive is enabled and visible.
  !! Optical media access LED lites permanently, so that the reader is always available!
  I have tried using different CD, reboot Notebook, removing battery State is always the same, LED blinks several times then it lites permanent.
  After a few hours this phenomenon disapperars and I can use the drive without any problems. ! It is very annoying!

  Someone at - it experience with this problem? Please let me know.

  In this case (I tried a Mat * a DVD - RAM UJ-820 s on the www, I found none just renovated, new readers) does anyone know where to get a new, or a compatible UJ-820 s drive.

  I don't know where you live and can not recommend any PC shop but you can order it by the authorized service partner.

  You can also view s manuals for Satellite M30X, and page 5, you will find a list of all compatible optical disk drives. Do not buy the same but much better if you want. I hope that this info will help you find the new drive.

  Troubleshooting I can't say a lot. Try to remove the device from Device Manager and reboot the device and test again but with original media only. Make sure that you can see the contents of the CD or DVD using Windows Explorer.

  If nothing is done check for replacement.

  Sometimes people sell books with the failure to display or other parts of damage, but the motherboard is ok.
  You can try to use second hand motherboard in your laptop.

  I have a problem with my Satellite P200-1 to 4.
  When I connect the battery to the power adapter, the laptop does nothing (no lights, no sounds)

  When I dosconnect the battery and leave the AC in place, the system starts normally.

  I tried another battery of a friends P200-1 has 4 (that works), but in my laptop, nothing is left.

  It seems therefore that I can use the laptop on the sector now.
