Satellite M30x cutting abruptly

WHAT TO DO! I need help,

In September 2004, I bought my Toshiba satellite m30x, and now already is messing around and cutting abruptly. I was so in love with my laptop so far and I was considering buying a toshiba extra, however now that it happened, I did research on this forum, forums and other websites, and it seems to be a common toshiba stop problem because of the way laptops are built so that dust gets collected or usb becomes funny etc.

It's so horrible. It is impossible that your laptop just lives for 13 months and she is... it should last a lot longer! I bought it in Germany and I believe I have two years warranty, I'm right or not? But can I only consider instead of German repair then? Or how this work.

I don't want ppl to fiddle around with the laptop to make it all work for another couple of months, what is recommended in this situation. I am dependent on this laptop and now it does not work! I am really disappointed and mad!

I understand you very well, but you know, the laptop is a high-tech machine.
It seems you laptop overheating. This problem occurs if the cooling fans are dirty. Fans can t work properly because of the dust. During the use of the laptop fans suck a lot of dust. In this case, you will need to clean it up. Please use the vacuum cleaner to clean the cooling fans.

    Satellite M30X is old enough laptop model, so I think that you should have no big problems to get the new keyboard. I had similar problem on my old Satellite M70 and I bought the new keyboard on eBay.

    At this time keyboards were quite similar and a keyboard could be used on some models of laptops. eBay is the right place to find different hardware parts for old models of laptops and keyboards.
    Unfortunately I can't help you with this keyboard control, so if you find the specification that says that it is compatible with M30X you can buy it.

    Don't spend a lot of money for it. as I've written before on eBay you can find keyboards for reasonable price.

    The driver from the ATI site will not help you. It is generally not possible to install the original graphic drivers from sites of s card on Toshiba laptops manufacturer.
    The Toshiba own graphics drivers are a bit modified and not the same as the original ATI drivers.

    However, the Web omegadrivers.net site provides drivers for ATI and NVidia chips and to my knowledge, it should be possible to install these drivers on your laptop.

    I'm going round in circles trying to find a video capture device that will work with a laptop computer and would be grateful for advice.     You are right! You must use an external device for the transmission of signals to your laptop. I put t know where you have this info but I have good experiences with Pinnacle product. I used the USB data transfer.

    Something similar happened on my laptop. The laptop has stopped to recognize the external device (USB HDD). Someone told me that it happened because I used the safely remove. Usually, if you want to for example disconnect the USB HDD or USB key, you must use the remove before disconnecting the device from the laptop.
    I just deleted all ports USB device and Manager after restarting the laptop operating system recognized all the USB ports again. Further, I have connected my external HARD drive, and it worked!

    I had a Trojan horse on my Satellite M30X. My Antivirus deleted, but every time I've been connected to the Internet, it appeared again. Not connected to the Internet it doesn't give me any problems. As I couldn't get rid of him, I backed up all my data and do a fresh install from the recovery disc. As long as the button for LAN wireless is disabled, everything works fine, but just a little while, after I turned on it, I get a blue screen. When I restart my computer with WIFI turned on, it produces a blue screen before Windows is properly loaded, even during installation. I tried restoring 3 times, but it's always the same result.

    1 is it possible, that the Trojan horse destroyed things of the pre installation?
    2. I can't choose to make a formatting during the recovery process. All data are lost, but I feel that's not formate the hard drive correctly, when everything is destroyed. It crushes just stuff?
    3. is there a way to make a good formatting, then install completely new Windows?

    It is not a problem of my WLAN card, internet being no problem under Linux.

    If you use the whole HARD disk Toshiba Recovery disk will be formatted so if you have any virus or Trojans on your laptop, they will be also deleted.

    But what BSOD code are you have? Are you sure that's the reason why the virus?
    You have the same problem if you connect a network cable to the laptop?

    I have a satellite M30X laptop. It is two years old and the battery stopped charging but it works very well through the AC adapter.
    I bought a new battery, but it doesn't charge either.

    Can anyone throw any light on this for me please?

    I put t think that it s a connection issue because as you say in your ad the laptop works well with the main power supply.
    I guess there could be a malfunction of the card maybe something wrong with the electronics

    I think you should check if the BSOD issue could be resolved using new memory modules RAM.
    I remember my old laptop had a similar problem. The OS crashed and nothing has worked. The question was about the faulty RAM module.
    I first checked how the laptop would be using RAM that one alone. This helped to discover how faulty RAM module.

    I got my Satellite m30x on repairstation because the charger was broken.
    Today I get back.

    But when I boot Windows XP home, after a short time, 10s, it turns off. Non-stop, just next door.
    I used to make State delivered, but same problem recovery cd.
    This Helene I run it in safe mode and it works very well, but is not normal.

    Seems to be a hardware problem. I don't think it's a driver problem, because it happened even with recovered resh system. So I think that some hardware is broken.

    Someone know this problem, or could tell me, what to do? I try to start with throw newspaper and view the log file, maybe this will help you.
    If nothing helps, I will bring this back to maintenancer Monday :(

    If the laptop works fine in safe mode and not in normal mode, so it could be a software malfunction.
    In safe mode, the operating system uses the standard drivers and don t charge all services.

    I don't know where you live and can not recommend any PC shop but you can order it by the authorized service partner.

    You can also view s manuals for Satellite M30X, and page 5, you will find a list of all compatible optical disk drives. Do not buy the same but much better if you want. I hope that this info will help you find the new drive.

    Troubleshooting I can't say a lot. Try to remove the device from Device Manager and reboot the device and test again but with original media only. Make sure that you can see the contents of the CD or DVD using Windows Explorer.

    If nothing is done check for replacement.
