Satellite M35 won't start

Hello

I received a laptop from a friend who asked me to try and fix it. The problem, it seems to have is the following:

When you press the power button, the phone begins to launch, the Toshiba logo appears on the screen as well as the message press F2 for Setup or other. Unfortunately, it is that he will.
If I press F2, the text at the bottom of the screen changes to enter Setup... but in fact is not (and I left for a long time, just in case). The person who brought it tells me that she was burning a CD and the laptop has frozen, then rebooted and showed the same behavior since then.

I tried a new set of RAM as well as to try to boot from a CD, neither of which he seems to want to do.
If I press ESC just before that the laptop shows the Toshiba logo, the boot sequence appears and stops at mouse initialized (if this help anyone)

I know that I could send the laptop into a Toshiba repair center, but they are trying to keep the cost of the repair from the bottom. The laptop is also two years is not eligible for the guarantee.

Any help or advice on what to try would be great because I am all of these ideas!
Thank you
Steve

Hello Steve

I understand that this person doesn t want to help, but you must know that at some point there is not much to do. If you are not able to enter the BIOS setting there is something wrong with the machine.

You can try to press F8 after starting up laptop to see what is happening, but as I said there must be a serious hardware problem. If nobody here can help you, please communicate with the service. No you don't have to give them a unit to repair, but you can just talk to them and see if the issue as it is known and how much the repair will be cool.

Good luck and please keep us posting if you know more about it.

    Hello

My Toshiba Satellite L500D won't start.

When I start my laptop lights three on the light green left, the two on the left are not green or red. I hear the coolingfan, no beeps at startup. When I start the laptop with a systemdisk is the same, nothing happens.

I have contact the supportdesk and they said it could be the hard drive, this seems a little strange for me because I can't begin with a systemdisk.

I hope someone can point me in the right direction

    Hello

Unfortunately on this virtual path, it is not easy to say with certainty what can be the problem.
It will be interesting to know what you did with your computer laptop last days.
Have you installed some day or anything that may be responsible for the issue described?

    Update the BIOS maybe?

  • New Satellite P300 won't start.

I hope you can give me some advice. This week, I bought a new Toshiba P300 GU with Vista Home Premium. It worked fine for about 3 days, but now it won't start at all.

    Symptoms:

    * - Some LED lights blink for a second, then they stop again.
    * - No fan or drive noise.
I tried to remove the battery and power cables and left the computer for a day before trying again. There is no difference except for a few plus-lumieres LED flashes for a second, the first time I try to start the computer. The next time I try, only a few lights flash again.

After I discovered the startup problem I noticed that food is quite noisy. I also noticed that the machine has a small mark RENS in the plastic in the upper left above the screen. (Looks like a defect of manufacturing error or transport) You hardly notice the 1 cm small inconsistency in the plastic, but it doesn't look like a normal scratch.

As I thought that food could be the cause of the problems because of the strange sounds, I brought the maschine to a PC technician today. He tested the food and said it was working normally, but he also said that this should not seem like that. He did not open the laptop, to not cause trouble about the Toshiba warranty.

I bought the computer to the Denmark I wanted a Danish keyboard. However, I live in Portugal, where I use the computer. Where is the PC now.

Do you recommend that I contact an ASP to the Portugal to fix the PC or do you propose I have return the PC to the merchant at the Denmark?

The ASP will be able to exchange the screen and power supply that are not in the State, they must be good obviously both?

    Thanks for the tips!

    Hello

First of all I must say I never had problems after 3 days of my new Toshiba laptop but these things happen and no manufacturing activity is perfect.

In addition, I agree with you. I would bring the laptop to an ASP because it seems that this motherboard is defective but I do not know Mr. it's only my personal opinion, and therefore the laptop should be checked by a technician for laptop.

As far as I know that the laptop is covered by 1 year international warranty and so I would contact the ASP in your country. Ask them if they can fix your computer laptop and if not, you must communicate with other ASP where you bought the laptop.
I think this is the best solution because they can tell you what to do exactly.

Good luck and I m sure that your laptop will be repaired as soon as possible.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite M45 won't start at all

Greetings! My Satellite M45 seems to be really sick! It started a while the battery dies slowly, and finally, the laptop would refuse to go into the BIOS to the battery power.

I ordered a new battery (which I'm still waiting) and continued to use the computer laptop external power, but every now and then, he would refuse to boot from an external power supply.

When you press the power button, the screen 'TOSHIBA Touch with tomorrow' arrives - but with a problem - then crashes (with the fan). The problem (other than the hanging), is that the screen is 'moved' to the left. Rather than fill the entire screen, the start screen "ignores" the rightmost 2 inches and a half inch low and appears in the rest of the screen. Its a little hard to explain...

This morning, refusing to boot at all!

Any ideas? I tried to reinstall the ram, turn on/off without battery, only on the battery, I have removed all the 'extras' and am quite a loss now!

I can't go to the menu of the bios either - so its very frustrating!

    Any help would be great!
    Michele

    Hello

This s a shame! Description does not sound you well ;(
For most hardware is malfunctioning if the laptop is unable to successfully pass the TOSHIBA Touch screen with tomorrow!
Seems the POST (power on self-test) failed!

I think that there's not a lot to do! The laptop must be professionally checked by an authorized technician. Guys might start and run tests from diagnostics and could locate the source of the fault.

Call the ASP in your country and describes the history and details. I guess you will have to send the laptop to the service provider authorized ;(

    Good luck

  • Satellite L30 won't start - error below messages

Can anyone help please? I have a satellite L30 & out of no where it does not start
below error. I entered the bios & checked initialize preferences (disk HARD, ETC.)
but all I get is the message below. I also tried a system restore, but nothing.

    For realtek RTL8139 (X) /8130/ 810 X PCI fast ethernet controller v2.13 (020326)

PXE - M0F: Existing PXE ROM.

When I boot with the recovery CD in I get the message below

Windows has encountered a problem... etc etc etc the usual windows bit.
    then

    status Oxc0000e9
Info unexpected i/o error has occurred

    Thank you all
    Mark

In my opinion, the HARD drive is certainly the reason why the laptop tries to boot from LAN.
Yes, the laptop computer tries to boot from LAN and, therefore, the error message (PXE - E61: media test failure, check cable) is displayed.

I think that a HARD drive replacement and the new installation of the OS will help you solve this problem.

  • Satellite C650 won't start - status: 0xc00000e9

Laptop suddenly froze while I was on the internet.
The mouse was still usable, but I could do nothing else — or even stop or restart.

So I forced stop and tried to turn it back on, now it started, however, first of all, a screen will appear indicating "readers", and then I was faced with a screen with a list of writing on this subject.

He said that I should contact the hardware manufacturer and known as the 'status' 0xc00000e9 and "info" as "an unexpected i/o error has occurred", I'm unable to boot up the laptop and have gone through the troubleshooting list.

    Hey Buddy,

You can start Windows in safe mode? Before you press F8 key to enter the start menu Windows Advanced to start Windows, and then select Safe mode. If you can start the computer, it seems to be just a driver issue.

And before contacting an authorized service provider that I would try to reinstall Windows from Toshiba recovery disc. If you can test it with factory again.

  • Satellite M40x won't start after upgrade CPU test

I have a portable M40x I took the CPU out of it to replace it with another to test the computer started fine then I stopped and took out and put it's original return CPU, and it wouldn't start. Now it primer with any one of all the CPU. When I turn on the power, all I get is a white screen for a few seconds and the laptop is closed down. Both the CPU is good because I since tested on other computers to make sure that this was not the problem.

Anyone has any ideas on what is the cause?

    I m not surprised.
As far as I know, Toshiba does not support updates, and it is not advisable to do something like that.
It of one that the replacement of CPU on laptops is not easy and not recommended.
The processors used in laptops are connected to the motherboard using a process called TCP (tape carrier package). It is a method of permanent connection and is used in the interest of miniaturization and heat dissipation.

He was awarded the new heat paste? It s necessary and important if you want to connect again the CPU.

It is perhaps a reason for not starting.
I think more details you will get from the service guy in your country

  • Satellite R630 won't start

    Hello

My brother has a R630 that will not start, when I turn it on the light flashes and Toshiba Flash then screen for a moment but then the screen goes black with a flashing cursor in the upper left corner of the hard drive. The led power and wireless light stay on so the laptop has certainly the power.

I can't start in safe mode, the only info I have is that my brother told me that he was doing an update of windows at the time.

Can someone please help me because my brother is desperate to get back to work.

    Kind regards

    DAZ

    > When I turn the hard drive light flashes and the Toshiba Flash screen appears, but then the screen goes black with a cursor blinking in the upper left corner

Cursor blinking in the upper left corner is a typical sign of a malfunction of the HARD drive.
You can try to check the status of the HARD drive in the BIOS. Press the power button / stop, then press F2 to access the BIOS settings. If the HARD disk does not appear in the BIOS, it means that the HARD drive is dead for sure, and in this case, you need to replace the HARD drive.

However, keyboard response on the 'Fn' key but it doesn't mean anything, in 15 seconds about there is no answer of keyboards as well, I tried to search results and uncharge battary several times, but it is the same. This laptop computer is in place of sand and as I heard thar couse a lot of problems for machinees. That this is perhaps no any service center you can suggest me a solution.

    Thank you in advance,
    Romano

    Hello

What do you mean with this laptop is in place of sand?
Where have you used this phone?
Is there is only a software problem, so you should try to recover the laptop with the Toshiba Recovery CD supplied.

But if there is something wrong with the material and in my opinion, it is, there is therefore no alternative to contact Toshiba service partner.

  • Satellite L350 won't start or recover using the recovery disks

My L350 suffered a hard disk problem and wouldn't start. He attempted an ASR, but failed. I rebooted after the system recovery cd that I created when the laptop was bought first, but the recovery fails in image 5.

    Does anyone have advice?

Have you used these recovery disks in the past?
If the drives are OK I can imagine there is a problem with the HARD drive but I m not 100% sure about this.

  • My Satellite L500D won't start

    Hello
Really hope someone can help me. My dog was able to chomp through the power my laptop (while the laptop was turned off but plugged in). I managed to get the laptop to start on battery and everything was ok. I have a new power suppy (Toshiba official replacement) and when I plug it in the power light and the battery light is steady orange/red but nothing happens. I tried all the usual, remove battery type stuff but she just does not start.
I would have thought that I had done something important, if it wasn't the fact that it worked very well until the battery was low.

Would appreciate it really all suggestions, she is only 14 months old so I hope that this is not a great case of the laptop case in heaven :-(

    With regard to the dog!

  • After that Vista update of my Satellite L40 won't start

After automatic Vista update of my boot of t n for laptop and the screen is black. Using the F8 key I have the advanced startup options, but none of them helps. The screen remains black. Hard drive led is always off.

I have Satellite L40. I restored the OS using Toshiba drive. All data has been lost. After 2 or 3 days, update has been installed again and I noticed the same problem. What can I do?

    Please help me!

For me, there is only one option: disable the automatic update to Vista.

By the way: when that happen, have you tried to boot the operating system in safe mode and roll back OS to an earlier time using System Restore tool?

  • Re: Satellite A300 won't start after updating BIOS

Today I was installing recommended THAT BIOS update 1.70 to 1.90. During installation, the mouse cursor disappeared and has no reaction to the keys on the keyboard. But there was a message DO NOT TURN OFF COMPUTER. So I waited for long (an hour?), but the update progress bar was always in the same place - as my computers are suspended.

After a long time waiting without any response, I decided to reset the computer. Only way to do pressed turn on button for a few seconds.

But after that turn it on again there is nothing visible on the screen, only the reaction of the computer is that bright development under tension is turned on and hard drive will blink every two seconds. What should do? Please help me! I have very important data on the hard drive at this moment! Can I reset the BIOS? I tried to yutm on the computer after you press ESC and F2 key, but no effect. I put the CD with the operating system, but no effect.

Its possible that the BIOS chip is faulty, causing the update to the BIOS to fall down during the writing process.

If you have tried reinstalling the RAM and removing the power for an hour, it is not great thing else you can do except send it to an ASP for warranty repair.

  • Satellite L450D does not start

My satellite L450D won't start. He stopped and when I walk back, he back the start menu, if I select the repair, it's just a black screen. If I choose start as usual, it goes to the windows logo but it remains stuck. I also tried to start in safe mode, but it says loading files and stays stuck.

I tried pressing 0 on start up and it does not work and I also tried the recovery disk and it does not work.
    Any ideas would be appreciated
    Thank you

    > I tried pressing 0 on start up and it does not work and I also tried the recovery disk and it does not work.
If you have a laptop model European 0 initially upwards will help any. You must use F8 at startup to display the advanced startup options. Is the option repair my computer available?

Anyway, OS is probably screwed and new installation OS can help. Enter the BIOS and set it to default settings. According to redo this cell phone start and press F12 to get into the boot menu. When the boot menu appears on the screen, place the recovery in the optical disc drive disk, choose the CD/DVD device from the menu and press ENTER. This will force ODD to start the reading recovery disk.

  • Satellite L300 - will not start after the installation of Skype

My Toshiba Satellite L300 won't start after installing Skype.
This happened to someone else, and can I do?

    Thank you.

I think Skype is probably the most used messenger and ideal application for communication.
It is professionally designed and programmed. As you know in recent years, it has been offered in many different versions and it is always better and better.

So I think that Skype itself is probably not the problem. I know that a lot of people also use Skype and I've never heard problem described.

Anyway, what you can try is to remove Skype and try to install it again. Try also push the BONES at that earlier time. Maybe some Microsoft updates are responsible for the stability of the software.
It's really not easy to say what the problem is here.
