Satellite M40 - 129 stops starting after the Toshiba screen
Hello
My M40 continues sometimes to start after the Toshiba screen. He stops and all I see is the blinking cursor. No Error Message or something else and normal boot from the HARD drive. Boot from CD (for example. Œuvres of Knoppix). This problem sometimes occurs and traceable for me isn´t.
Best regards
Spoony
Hey Spoony
Unfortunately on this path, it is not easy to say why this is happening. Each user has a specific configuration OS and we don t know how your operating system is configured.
You can boot OS in safe mode? If Yes check what the problem may be a little. If there is anything you can do I recommend you save all your data and preinstall unit using rescue media. If you do this I recommend also to create two partitions.
Don t compare WXP and Linux startup procedure. As you know that Knoppix using just the RAM and no HARD drive for the race.

Cannot start after the blue screen "page in the nonpaged area failure."
My sons laptop has got to me. There the error page blue to come with "failure page in the nonpaged area." There is a chain of technical info of numbers, but this changes a little at each attempt.
I tried all F8 options, without success. I did a restore disk from the laptop of my other son (which is the same) and that has not worked and I also downloaded a file of system restore on the internet who do not. I ran diagnostics memory on the scope option and who found nothing.
No matter what I try, always the fails to start after the first screen with Microsoft Corporation at the bottom and the small lights of scrolling!
I would be grateful for any suggestions that anyone can have. I wondered if I should try to borrow a disc of Windows Vista from someone and try from there?

Satellite L300 - will not start after the installation of Skype
My Toshiba Satellite L300 won't start after installing Skype.
This happened to someone else, and can I do?Thank you.
I think Skype is probably the most used messenger and ideal application for communication.
It is professionally designed and programmed. As you know in recent years, it has been offered in many different versions and it is always better and better. So I think that Skype itself is probably not the problem. I know that a lot of people also use Skype and I've never heard problem described.
Anyway, what you can try is to remove Skype and try to install it again. Try also push the BONES at that earlier time. Maybe some Microsoft updates are responsible for the stability of the software.
It's really not easy to say what the problem is here. -

Satellite M40-133: problem starting after a stop
When my Satellite M40 - 133 EN if I start it again all that I get is the Toshiba welcome screen.
If it is left for a while it will start as usual. When executing it is quite hot.Help, please.
To me, this looks like a problem with overheating.
It seems that the laptop can not start and start properly due to high internal temperature. The main reason why an overheating problem is very simple.
Don t cooling modules work correctly. In my view, that dust and debris prevent cooling with maximum performance running fans.Simply cleaning fan should help you.
From time to time, I clean my fans too. I use a jet of compressed air. These sprays are very useful to get rid of dust and most computer/computer laptop dealers offer these sprays. If it will not improve the situation, then a mobile technician needs to disassemble the laptop and recommended to clean properly. In addition, it should renew the thermal grease that is placed between the CPU and the cooling module, too.
Good luck

Satellite Pro 400CDT not start after the display of a stack
I have the same problem as this post:
http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=16837
Is there a solution yet?
It is with a very old laptop 400CDT Satellite that I use to pay my car. What happened, I lay laptop running on battery until it went flat and now I can't start laptop with or without battery (and connected a/c)... turns on, it don't think light for 1 second, but nothing on the screen?
What this may be?
No one can tell you with certainty what can be the problem. We can only speculate, but just after the exact diagnosis laptop you can find more information. As you can see in another thread, there is no universal solution, and I assume that you need professional help.
BTW: one thing I didn t understand. When you turn on your laptop, don't stay laptop but nothing showed on the screen or the computer laptop immediately switches off the POWER?

Satellite M40-285 - CPU overheating after the accident with water
Hello everyone,
I have a Toshiba Satellite M40-285, and 2 days ago, my girlfriend dumped a cup of tea on the keyboard... The computer turns off after a few seconds. Immediately, I put the laptop upside down and disassembled parts. There was some liquid inside (especially inside the speakers under the keyboard and where is the DVD unit). Other parts (CPU, memory, wireless card, hard drive area) were completely dry. I have it with napkings and dry with a hair dryer (later I read that I shoud never use a hair dryer...).
The turs laptop on one seems to work fine (only the first screen where it says toshiba remains more than normal long (15 seconds or more) before entering windows). But the problem I have is that the CPU gets overheated and the laptop shuts down after 5-15 minits of use. I'm getting attention via the RightMark utility I said "* Core overheating * ' and the temperature always between 45 - 55 c
I replaced the thermalgrease but the problem remains. The CPU fan works (I think that the two speeds). The heatsink is very hot after the computer turns off (it burns my fingers if I touch)
What could be the problem? * Is the processor damaged? Can be a problem in the motherboard? *
I don't know what to don't know because is not woth the money to send it to the technical service, but I can't buy a new laptop now...Hey,.
I m wondering that the laptop is still ongoing and no more parts are damaged. In addition he s very cool that you could fix it yourself and dry. Many people don t know how ;)
In any case, if the CPU is overheating it seems that something on the assembly or the cooling fan is damaged and must be replaced. Possibly peut t fan run with the highest speed more, who knows.
Of course, it is difficult to say what is the cause of the problem, but in your case I would try ordering a new fan and the heatsink too. The two parties shouldn't t be expensive and it seems that you can replace yourself.
So just contact a service provider allowed in your country to order these parts. They can do this.Good luck and feedback would be great, I am interested on this! :)

Satellite A300 does not start after the installation of the anti-virus
Hello
I brought a Satellite A300 today and loaded it up and it was fine.
I uninstalled the google toolbar, office and land it came preinstalled with also the mcafree anti virus.
So I could install my own anti virus. After that the system asked me to restart my pc I did.
Since then, the system cross the 'Please wait' screen
But it won't let me boot into safe mode. I tried a system restore.Any ideas?
Hello
To me, it seems that you 3rd party antivirus software caused this strange and confusing problem the Vista OS installed.
In my eyes a simply, new installation of operating system using the Toshiba Recovery disk would solve this problem.
If you are able to start the operating system in safe mode and then try to remove your installed Antivirus software, then clean the registry and operating system using the free tool called CCLeaner and try to start the laptop again.
Maybe it helps you too

Satellite A100 does not start after the BIOS update
Hello
I downloaded the update to the bios toshiba A100 PSAA8 on the toshiba site and applied using the procedure of updating the bios from windows XP MSE. Restart after the start of the update stopped at the toshiba start screen.
At startup the screen by pressing ESC watch text mode. The message indicated it confirms the update of the bios version. POST messages are:
_________________________
Genuine Intel CPU
No TPM or TPM has problem
1015 M system RAM passedPress
to enter in SETUP
_________________________Pressing F2 just clears the last message in line and then no change is found.
The laptop comes with windows XP media center edition. I don't know why the TPM secure is enabled. It is possible that toshiba is available with the module of TPM enabled in bios updates that logbook. If this is the case, they must clearly identified as 'not applicable' upgrade for machines that are not relevant.
I found similar messages around the forum without convincing answer.
Is it possible to fix this without sending? Even if it turns out to be affordable, it make much sense to pay for the problems caused by toshiba.
Hello
Please don t blame someone for you mistakes ;)
As far as I know that only a few sets of laptops come with TPM.
If you want to do an update of the BIOS on the models at TPM, you will need to contact the ASP!Looks like you used a bad BIOS or bad BIOS update procedure.
The Toshiba page a BISO update the documentation that describes how to upgrade the BIOS on each series laptop!
You will find on the page of the Toshiba driver compatible BIOS and information over a large number of details!> Is it possible to fix this without sending
Don t think so, and therefore, you will need to contact the Asp help!Good luck

Satellite M100-233: stops right after the "XP" logo
Hello
I have a Satellite M100-233 with XP Home Edition SP3 (in Portuguese)
When it is connected to the mains and the battery is not fully charged, sometimes the yellow light does not shine.
Check the voltmeter application when this happens, tells me that the battery is on, the energy source is the sector, but the battery runs down.
As I continue to use the laptop, the amount of the battery is reported as progressively less, until he tends to zero, then the laptop just turned off, as if she was not connected to the mains.
Even if I start with the battery charged to 100%, after a couple of hours (sometimes more, sometimes less) the same thing happens. From an authorized dealer, they told me that it was probably a short battery shorted out.
Get not that: * if she take the battery out of the laptop and turn it on:
-Most of the time it turns off right after the "XP" logo.
-It seems that this happens more often when the battery was fully charged the last time that I used it (strange! "I imagine this?)
-Also sometimes happens after that I use the laptop for a whileThe only unusual bios message I get is "no TPM or TPM has a problem." I guess it has to do with the cryptographic protection, so I imagine that this has nothing to do with this issue.
About two years ago, there was a problem with the battery (it ceased to be recognized as present by the laptop) which has been repaired under warranty: they told me that they had replaced the motherboard then. However, at this time there that I could continue to work normally without the battery, which is not the case now.I would be grateful for any advice. The most annoying is that this problem follows an irregular pattern, and the diagnosis, the dealer gave me seems hard to believe. As I use my laptop to collect data for research abroad, it is quite a risk for me to use it if I can't be sure when it will turn off on its own.
Hello
To be honest, I doubt that anyone here in the forum would be able to provide an exactly the answer to this question
I think that it of almost impossible to say what's wrong without running any hardware checks. But to me it looks like a card mother number possibly it s power of electronic power supply which is part of the motherboard.
What to say, maybe you need a new motherboard, but the new mobo is an expensive item, and in my opinion, you should first check if it is s to replace the motherboard or buy a laptop second hand for the same money.

Satellite A30 - does not start after the RAM to level
Hello
I recently installed a crucial for memory
my laptop, which is a Toshiba Satellite A30. However, when I try and
restart the laptop, he tries to restart the fan turns on then turns off with a beep sound and this is not
even to get to the Toshiba start screen.The memory I installed is 1 GB, 200-pin SO-DIMM, 128 X 64, DDR 333, CL2.5, part number CT12864X335.
"Memory module PC2700 DDR 1 GB, 200-pin SODIMM

took out and put back the old memory and the laptop boots
normally and is OK, I even tried to put the memory in different
slot machines, but it still has the same problem. This suggests that memory is faulty, as bought crucial memory must be compatible with my laptop?
Thanks for your time,
You have this problem if you use modules or only the new module?
If you only use the new module, the case is clear. The new module is defective or is not compatible with the laptop.
I think you should get back on the computer dealer and request a new. Maybe you can get a Kingston module because I have only good experience with this production. If you use both modules, they are not compatible. You should only use the modules with the same specifications.

Satellite M200 does not start after the RAM 4 GB upgrade
Hello
I recently updated my RAM just to speed things up a bit as RAM is so cheap these days.
I have a MEAC M200 T2130 Vista with 1 GB sticks (2 * 512).The new sticks are 2 * 2 GB Dane - elec DDR2 pc2-5300, when I put the two and restarted the hard drive light came briefly and then it is just options BIOS of Idol, no POST.
I tried to use a single stick of 512 MB with two new sticks and they both work in a 2.5 GB configuration just not together that also this only works when the stick of 512 is in internal housing and not vice versa.
So if someone has had a similar prob or can give me some advice that would be great, I'm not sure if the motherboard can support 4 GB?
Thank you, Dave.Hello
There are two possibilities why your M200 doesn't not start after upgrading RAM.
First the RAM installed may be not compatible or could be faulty or the computer laptop doesn't support 4 GB of RAM.I put t know what M200 do you have exactly, but you can check the installed chipset and could check on the Intel page if this chipset would support 4 GB of RAM.

Satellite M40-129: how to run the SRS TruSurround XT?
Hello to all users
First of all I want you to know that I am in the Germany so hopefully you don't punish me. I use my laptop for 3 years now and it me satifies much. Recently, I had to format my drive hard [no not recover] and couldn't find a driver of the SRS TruSurround XT function. I remember that these features boost the huge volume.
I am looking for it a long time ago and I hope you can help me. Is it still possible?Your faithfully
Hello
> Recently, I had to format my drive hard did not recover and couldn't find a driver of the SRS TruSurround XT function
Generally if you have used the Toshiba recovery disc then all drivers preinstalled, tools and features of the laptop must be present again.Page, you will find the European Toshiba driver called Virtual Sound.
Maybe you mean this featureYou can find it on the page of the European pilot in the area of the Archive!

NB200 does not start after the bios - screen black screen with blinking cursor
Hello
I was using the laptop as usual when I think there may have been a virus activity - reason I say that is that my anti-virus closed unexpectedly. I couldn't restart programs files.
I restarted the laptop.
After the bios menu will I get a blank screen with a blinking cursor - windows does not start.
I did the following:
(1) create a USB bootable with Recovery Console window XP - boot with this i can see three drives C:, D: as SDA? I can see the content of these disks, so it seems that my HD works. I ran a fixmbr and fixboot, but this has not solved the problem.
(2) create a Kaspersky bootable USB virus scan - ran it without problem - he found a few question (not on the disk boot sector) I've fixed. An option was to copy files from the laptop and then start it in recovery mode - so Itried to run the phone into recovery mode hold down the 0 key at startup - the bottom of the screen then displays * HDD Recovery mode * and nothing happens.
Any help - other options would be greatly appreciated.
My 1 year of that guarantee has expired a few months back so can't send in for repair.
Thank you
Hello
I doubt that it is a virus.
Seems the file system is damaged on the HARD drive and this is the reason why the laptop does not start until it could also be a partition of HARD disk malfunction.Try this; Turn on the unit, press F8, and then check if you have the laptop repair.
If this is not possible, then you will need to reinstall new OS.Here you can order a recovery disc:
http://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx
Of course you will need an external USB CD/DVD drive
