Satellite M40-136 PSM40E: faulty driver for Multi-lecteur of DVD
I got my dvd rw Multi-lecteur drivers faulty in that it burns no more files. How can I have access to the driver/firmware for matsu * a uj - 831 s? the bios intel available again "failed to loadbiosimage".
Thank you very much
I think that you need to download the latest driver of DVD for your M40 from the Toshiba download page and reinstall.
I have a portable Satellite M40-197 (PSM40E) with ATI Radeon X 300 graphics display.
The problem I have is when the laptop is turned on, until windows XP THAT starts, the screen is black as you would expect.
But there are also about 12 lines on the screen. Each line consists of (from top to bottom) 4 pixels of different colors. The rest of the screen is as you would expect.
Once Windows XP is running are several broken lines (color lines, depends on the color of office) through the screen at all levels up and down the screen.
I updated the BIOS of the laptop and installed the latest ATI drivers.
This made no difference.
Anyone know if it is a faulty graphics card (is the adapter on the system board or it own map). Is it possible to update the graphics BIOS? Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you very much.
This really sounds like a hardware problem, I had the same problem some time ago with my Satellite 5200 903. They said to the servicecenter
me, that the graphics card was defective and they replace. After replacing everything will work perfectly again.
Thus, it would be important that your platform to a local servicepartner for a hardwarecheckup.
Here´s a good place where you can find the nearest the servicepartner in your country:
I have problems with my laptop Satellite M40 136 I bought a year ago. If I close down the machine when I then turned it on it would give me a screen saying there is a problem in Windows and gave me the option 'Start windows normally', 'start with the last successful settings', 'start in safe mode', 'start in safe mode with networking' or 'start in safe mode with command prompt '. It would usually take several attempts before that Windows would fire up ok, any option to choose. However yesterday any have repeatedly tried it would not be in windows.
I decided that I need to use the dvd - rom product recovery is a relocation complete (fortunately I had saved my personal files). I did it, but at the end when he says 'ctrl-alt-del"to restart, reboot I got the same message"problem going into windows"with the same options. I repeated the recovery process 2 more times with no luck.
This morning, he did go further and asked me to go through the installation process of Windows (i.e. giving the phone a name, asking if I wanted to save the machine with toshiba/microsoft etc.) However he then pop up with the message "problem going into windows" with the options that I mentioned earlier. I choose any option that he ends up back on the same screen.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
It is possible that you have a problem with your hard drive. The operating system will always be usually resident in the same sectors of the hard drive even after a re-installation using your recovery CD, the same sectors of the hard drive will be used to store the files of the OS.
I suggest that you try to run a CHKDSK/F on your hard drive to see what it brings. Of course id there are lots of bad sectors then will consider you replacing the hard drive.
I have a Satellite M40 136 2.5 years old. I used it yesterday and then closed the lid then it shut down as usual. About half an hour later, I realized that I had to check a file so I opened the lid and normally he would back automatically, but it didn't. I pressed the button, which is surrounded by an LED, I think than orange means it's pending otherwise it is blue.
When I pressed on it, he showed the light orange for about 2 seconds and then nothing for 5 seconds and then blue for 5 seconds. For these last 5 seconds the machine looks like it, he's trying to start, but then it off immediately. I tried and tried again, but it does the same thing. I tried to use the power cable. I managed to put the recovery DVDs during the 5 seconds, the blue light is on and I press the 'C' button, but it does not work.
Does anyone have an idea on what I can do to get the machine to boot?
Plug the laptop! Remove the battery and the AC adapter.
Then wait about 30 min, then insert the battery and connect the AC to the laptop.
Check if the mobile feed.
If this isn't the case,-> contact ASP (certified partner) in your country, because the strange behavior of cell phone looks like a serious problem that cannot be solved by a common user!
I have a satellite M40-136, which is a little more than 2 years. I have cable broadband installed and this had led me to discover that I have a problem with my network card (a Marvell Yukon map I think).
I had guys on the network at work to check the laptop and they say either the network adapter connection is loose or the card is damaged.
I rang one of their guys said tech that I need a new main board because the network cards are integrated on all laptops and PC WORLD.
Is this correct? If it is then it will cost an arm and a leg to fix it.
Well, that's good.
Map of LAN (RJ45) is soldered on the motherboard.
Perhaps an independent technician with experience might be able to solve this problem, but in general, the motherboard should be replaced.
The motherboard is one of the expensive parts and you are right; the new Council is costing a fortune
I NEED A DRIVER for MY OLD BENQ DVD DD DW 1650 HELP if you please. I would like to burn DVD & CD
I would go as far as to say that you you need a third-party software to burn the DVD. XP should be able to burn CDs, but I recommend the use of third party for both DVD and CDsoftware. I hope that this will have been provided with your PC and/or an optical drive.
Keep away from products of packet writing if you can (for example, Nero InCD), I found that it is a very reliable way of writing optical media.
need a new HARD drive for my * Satellite M40 154 GR PSM 40th *. The old a HDD is: Toshiba MK8025GAS. The new need Toshiba also, 5400 RPM and 80-100GB capacity.
I already try to find out which is right for my laptop, but I do not understand much about the HARD drives. There are more types, like GSX... But I need one that is compatible with my M40. Pleas help.
AFAIK you can use each HARD top of page 120 GB disk because your laptop is a limitation of LBA 28 bits. This means that you can use the top of 128 GB of DISK space.
The new HARD drive should be have an IDE interface and size 2.5. All that s and normally each Toshiba HDD should work with these specifications.
Hi experts, :)
I downloaded a new display driver ati from the archives of toshiba (for psm40e satellite). I know that my laptop has an ati chip, so I downloaded the driver for ati, installed, but after a reboot XP told me that the driver was written for an older version of himself (WIN XP) and does not work correctly...
Because I really need a driver updated for the thing, I was wondering if any of you know how and where I might be able to get a.
I've already tried ati directly, but the software told me to get the driver of toshiba... and current toshiba ati driver seems to be incompatible with XP SP3...
I'm happy for suggestions!
I think that the must decommission your Windows XP SP2, and then the driver should work.
Have you tried to install the driver manually? Go to Device Manager > right click on the graphics card > update driver
But before that I remove the old driver and software in Add and remove programs and then restart the computer.
Maybe it works, but try it.
I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600 with a built-in wireless lan mini pci card. My problem is that I only have Windows XP! Basically, the WIFI connection can be configured using settings in Windows and it is not necessary to use a WLAN client software.
Hi, can someone tell me what the difference between the two laptops;
M40-103 and M40 - 136.
They seem to have the same characteristics.
Thanks in advance.
Yes, it is possible
In most cases, the laptop hardware parts are the same, but only the system language is different, it means that the two laptops could be released for different countries.
But the hardware specs are the same
I have a Satellite A205-S7443 and I bought it with Vista. So now, I bought Windows 7 and install it but now I have the problem with ethernet LAN driver. Help guys. I need driver for ethernet LAN for Windows 7 32 bit
After installing Windows 7 have installed all of the important drivers that you can find?
Your model of laptop is an American model, and so you can find all the drivers on the Toshiba U.S. page tools:
If you search for your model, you will find all the necessary stuff for Windows 7 32 bit. Download and install all the drivers, then your LAN port should operate as usual.
If you have any other questions, just post again ;)
I need a driver for the webcam and the microphone is detected.
The microphone of the webcam is not recognized!

I put t know which version of Windows 7 you have exactly, but it seems that this Satellite phone is full Windows 7 supported so you get drivers for both versions (32-bit and 64-bit).
I recently installed win7, but unfortunately the operating system does not recognize my MediaKeys and some Fn - keys F combo.
I tried to install the driver ValueAddedPack for Vista, but there was no result.
I didn't find the latest driver for Satellite M100 VAP no option of (v1.2.28), but there are for the pilot to buttons spec
I hope a solution on the VFR pilot?
As you probably n t know, Windows 7 is not supported for all series of laptops.
If your didn't find the VAP for Win 7 for M70 then that would mean that there is no available for this series Win 7 VAP
You can try the other PPV that appears for different series, but there is no guarantee that you will get all the M70 with Win 7 function

Hey great. Thanks for this info. If you have more news, please report it.
I have a Toshiba Satellite C850-108 and recently it just completely crashed.
Being stupid I never had chance to create a disc of recovery etc for her.
I have a friend who sent me a disc to reinstall windows 7.
However when I did I lost all drivers and that she had to reinstall completely as Iv been discover which ones I need.
A big problem I had is that when I install the driver for network controller he simply refuses to install saying there is no detected network driver.
I tried to go to devices and exclamation yellow etc but still doesn t find anything.
I download many drivers of Toshiba to try to fix it but still the same problem. I can only connect to the internet via Ethernet.
It's like I don't have a WiFi card.
I m very confused and frustrated by this, if anyone can help I would appreciate it a lot as this.
PS I installed using 32 bit, but when I check my serial number it says it is 64-bit. This could be a party if the cause?
As I m wrong not the Satellite C850-108 does support the Realtek RTL8188CE WLan card.
If you need to install the Realtek WLan driver for chip RTL8188CE.
You should be able to download the driver directly from the Realtek page:
[Realtek drivers & utilities: http://www.realtek.com/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=21&PFid=48&Level= 5 & Conn = 4 & DownTypeID = 3 & GetDown = false]
