Satellite M40 battery life

Hello
Yes please can anyone tell me approximately how long the battery 6 cells (accompanying) is still working on the m40-185 laptop if its full load and work on normal mode if it's not excessively using the cpu
see you soon

Hello

I had a M40-103, which lasted for 2.5 hours when running a DVD movie so for normal use with say MS Office applications, then it should last for at least 3 hours.

After 1.5 years, the battery life dropped about 100 minutes within 30 minutes.

I thought that the battery was bad, but after that Windows automatically stopped because he thought that the battery was empty. I plugged the power cord for 10 seconds approximately, started the computer laptop, unplugged immediately and let it run in the BIOS screen. It has been running for more than 45 minutes, so that the laptop is off. Then

I guess the battery was still high capacity, but somehow calibration data has become invalid.

Is it possible to calibrate the battery? I have not found such a feature in the BIOS, where all my other phones have such a feature (even if I never need for others!)

    Hello

I think you're a little confused about the duration of battery life and performance of the battery.
But you should t be confused because it is nothing unusual.

After about 500 times charge/discharge, the battery will begin to lose clean performance.
This means that after a longer time of use, the battery performance will decrease and a day you need to replace.

My 7 year old laptop doesn t work on battery power. The power of the battery takes about 2 min same it s fully charged. I know that I should replace, but I use this laptop as desktop Pc. It s always plugged in.

If don t wonder about the performance of your battery. It s normal behavior.

  • Satellite S50-B-12Z: battery life cycle Option does not appear in the eco utility

    Hello everyone.

I am facing a strange problem. The eco utility allows to work ok with win 10 on my S50-B-12Z satellite and I used the eco charging battery I've run mainly my laptop plugged in.

At some point, I need to do a system restore. I have re-installed the 10 victory and also the latest version of the eco utility downloaded from the Toshiba site. The problem is that when I open the utility eco, the choice of "battery life cycle", where you can select the eco reload or not, seems no more! So I find myself with the battery to 80% connected but does not support.

I already tried to uninstall and reinstall the utility or install an earlier version of it.

Is there something I could do in order the choice of "battery life cycle" to reappear or to cancel the State of charge of eco and leave my battery to charge again 100%?

    Thank you

I have the same problem with my P50 - A satellite. Battery-life cycle does not appear in the new eco Win 10 utility installed. Version is: 3.0.0.0006. Older versions do not work, I tried also.

More than 80% of maximum load, not 100% .

I hope someone has a suggestion. To 80% battery life is too short

  • Satellite T230 - 11 p - only 4 or 5 hours battery life

I recently bought by Satellite T230 - 11 p. Once I took it out of the package I plugged the AC adapter and used for a while and kept until it is fully charged. But the battery life last for 4 or 5 hours. In the manual, he wrote the life of the battery last for 8 hours.

Please help me with this problem. Should I replace the battery by a new, or - is this normal?

    Hi Krishj,

In my battery of 4-5 hours notice, life is beautiful and everything is ok with your computer laptop because it s always according to your use. If you run a large number of programs and using the brightness of the display, the laptop needs more energy. Which is a perfectly normal behavior.

Usually 8 hours autonomy you will have with the brightness of the display only low and high level of energy saving.

  • Satellite A100-493 - short battery life

    Hei,
I installed windows 7 on my Toshiba ' Satellite A100-493. After the installation of the battery life drops to 20 min. What can I do?

And I read in the support that toshiba has a battery for this model Exchange program, it is now possible to change the battery?

    Welcome them
    Kalle

    Hey Buddy,

Where did you read about this procedure to Exchange battery?

In my opinion, the dough is near end of life because Satellite A100 is old laptop model and if you didn t exchange the battery yet it seems to be bad now.

Usually, a battery can be recharged 500 - 1000 times and after that, need to replace the battery because it s a part not reusable.

  • Satellite A210 - question about the battery life

I have a problem: my laptop works only 1 hour of unplugged to electricity, so my battery died after working of 55minutes (I mean I look at the pictures or typing in WORD). Is this normal? How long is the average battery life?
My model is SATELLITE A210/1AP (4000mAh) (my laptop is new; I bought it a week ago)
Please write how much your maximum battery work.

It is not easy to discuss this topic. With similar activity, I can use my Satellite A200, about 1 hour and 15 minutes. I don't know how you're using your laptop, but I recommend you to use all the power settings that can make the life of the battery a little longer.

Check the method of cooling, power profile, reduce the brightness of the display and turn off WIFI if you do not use and so on.

You must also understand that Vista needs far more resources than Windows XP Home edition and the life of the battery under Vista is not identical with Windows XP Home edition.

  • The battery life on Satellite P100

I have a Satellite P100-160. The battery life is only 2 hours. I thought it would be more. Any other s battery to give them the same life, or more?

Sorry, but I don't really understand you. 2 hours for this great book for me is fantastic battery life. As you know battery life depends on notebook use.

If you wish to have more long battery life reduce power consumption in standby power management (display brightness, CPU activity) or simply use already created profiles of power.

  • Satellite M105-SP381: short battery life - 01:50 mins

    Hi guys,.

I have a Satellite M105 and I think that Im not getting good battery life out of it. I have had the machine for 1 month and I can barely 01:50 mins on drums, with a minimum brightness and wifi, just surf the web and listen to mp3s. What is the performance expected for this type of machine?

It has a 1.8 Core Duo, 1 GB RAM, 80 gb HD, ATI x 1300 14 "of clues? I use the watch system to "long term" Toshiba application. My battery was unaffected by the action of voluntary exchange of Toshiba.

    Thank you

    HI Juan,

Different parts of the book will use you the power at higher or lower rates. Any component with a mechanical action (your hard drive, optical drive, floppy drive, etc.) use generally a little more power than the CPU, RAM etc.

The effect is to drain the battery faster if the hard drive or optical drive is used. So, generally, is expected to get more autonomy if you use an application such as Word or Excel where there is minimum hard disk activity unless you're constantly saving or loading documents.

In your case, playback of MP3 files will constantly have to load data from the drive hard (although cached to reduce the number of access) while you browsing the internet is constantly written pages in your Temporary Internet folder (as well as access to your anti-virus database). All this activity hard drive means that the hard drive is never allowed to turn down and therefore do not have to use the power of the battery.

As long as you follow the usual recommendations to optimize your battery (let it fully discharge from time to time) I think that the time you get really is reasonable for the type of activity that you do.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite A200 short battery life - it pays very quickly

Today, I have restored my A200 Satellite to factory settings.
It is the 4th time that I did in the last 2 years.

Now my battery life is screwed.

100% loaded with about 10 minutes to the end (image: http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/3548/100g.png)

    85% charged to 8 minutes (image: http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/723/46880270.png)

    What is going on?

I'm afraid that if I restore settings to "fix" the problem it only make it up worse and end being 2 minutes from the end to completely charged.

    Hello

Looks like the battery is dead
In this case, you will need to buy a new

Can I use my old battery for about 2 min it s fully charged, but after 2 min so use it s empty
But I use my laptop as a desktop PC it s still connected to the power adapter so I put t need a new battery

  • Satellite A215-S4757 - battery life and the problem of cooling fan

    Hello everyone,

I would like to ask a few questions abou my system: first, the cooling fan works in my view too often: almost without interruption, with brakes for 2-3 seconds. Is this normal?

I have my laptop since last August and I think that it shouldn't be a dust problem, because it is too 'young' for this and I do not live in an apartment "dusty"...

In any case, I think that the problem of "almost allways running fan" appeared about 2 months after I bought the laptop. I installed 'Speedfan' and I see 'HD0' temperature increases of 30deg remarks immediately after I have start the laptop, on 39deg after 1 hour.

But the most curious is that so called "Core" temperature oscillates from the beginning between 45deg and 52deg! The fan starts each time the core temperature rises to 50deg and stops when the temperature reached 45deg. This behavior is normal?

Is the normal temperature of 45-50deg? I use my laptop for browsing the Internet, emails, etc., no complex 3d games!

The second thing is that the battery life is (and has been since the beginning) not spectacular: it lasts max. 1.5 hours with wireless use on, but normal laptop (don't play not DVDs or something like that). Is this normal? If so, is it because of the amd processor turion 64 x 2?

Please help me with some tips / advice.

P.S. I bought my Toshiba as I was travelling to the US (NY).

    Thank you much in advance.

    Conrad

    > I would like to ask a few questions about my system: first, the cooling fan works in my view too often: almost without interruption, with brakes for 2-3 seconds. Is this normal?

I m an owner of a Satellite A210. It s similar to the A215. The A210 is a European model and the A215 belongs to the series of cell phones in the United States.
I noticed the same thing on my A210, and I think that's a normal s behavior.

    > But the most curious is that so called "Core" temperature oscillates from the beginning between 45deg and 52deg! The fan starts each time the core temperature rises to 50deg and stops when the temperature reached 45deg. This behavior is normal?
The 40-60deg CPU temperature is not unusual.
The temperature could affect up to 70-80degrees by practicing a game. So Don t worry about the temperature.
Cooling modules are controlled by the BIOS. Fan table is stored in the BIOS and it contains information about the limits of temperature and the use of cooling.
If a certain level of temperature has been reached the cooling module begins to spin with a certain speed.

Now, I would like to say a few words on the life of portable batteries
Generally the duration of battery life depends on the use of portable computers.
While playing games or watching movies the battery a lot faster.

In any case, your laptop is equipped with high performance devices and AFAIK Vista was preinstalled on this series. The two factors (high performance CPU and GPU devices) + Vista OS need a lot of battery power. Vista needs of more resources for laptop like Win XP, and so portable computers equipped with Vista operating system run more short on battery such as laptops pre-installed with Win XP.

Finally and above all he must know that there are different models more strong the battery with high * value of my would help run the notebook longer using the power of the battery.

Hope I could clarify this issue.

    Good bye

  • How to maximize battery life battery on Satellite A200

    Hi all!

I just bought a laptop satellite A200. Could someone tell me how to maximize my battery life?
I already had my first charge 2 hours after a total of battery drain, however, my battery fail to maintain another couple of hours.
I do something basic like navigation and using the media player of saved files and I don't use my dvd readers yet and do not lend themselves its operations.
    Please advice.

    Thank you!

    Hello

What to say dude battery working time depends on the use of the laptop and on the performance of the battery.
I put t know what exactly the battery delivered with this laptop, but as far as I know it s a common standard battery. If you want to use the laptop much more time, I advise you to buy the stronger battery; for example, with 6000-8000mAh with Adapter Cable.

By the way; You can configure the use of battery power in Vista power options.
If you wish, you can create a new configuration of the plant to get the best performance from the battery.

    Check it!

    Thank you

    Hey Buddy,

You can maximize the life of the dough if you always remove the battery if you n t necessary e.g. in the House where you can work with AC/DC adapter.
In addition, the battery must always be fully charged and be invoiced if it s empty.

    Hello

I want to maximize the battery from Toshiba. I read the user manual. Following the instructions of the PC hybernates when the battery is still 3%. I tried to change the critical-battery level, but it does not allow below 3%.

What should I do to completely discharge the battery?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey,.

Why you want to change the level of less than 3% battery? I think that s useless because need new lithium ion battery doesn t 0% of discharge in order to maximize the battery life.
