  I have a Satellite A215-S7422 series. I want to spend my RAM from 1 to 4 GB because it s expandable to 4 GB. Now, I'm not 100% computer sauvy, but I know well.   Please check you user manual. Usually, the slot memory must be placed at the bottom of the unit. If you remove the cover, you should see the slots.

  I'm looking for more information on how to upgrade the RAM for my SATELLITE S3000 - X 4 (120 MB RAM, 14 GB HD I think!). Here's a little history...

  This laptop is about 5 years old, and I'm hoping to speed up a bit. I don't want to buy a new computer because she usually serves my needs.

  He is old enough. I looked for some info, but unfortunately I n t have not found much. The device can use the 512 MB of RAM, and you can use 2 sticks of memory. I'm not 100% sure but I think you can use the module with tracking number PA3086U - 1. 25 M.

  AFAIK your old works 1410-604 with PC1600 SDRAM and the M40 with module PC2700 DDR - RAM. In my opinion they don t work together without any mistakes, because they are two different parts. You need two similar memory modules.

  The outlet plug is very important! A CPU with socket of evil cannot be installed on the Board! But to my knowledge, the l100 motherboard supports socket 478.

  In any case, upgrading the CPU is not easy, very risky and NOT advisable. First of all, you will lose your warranty and then the laptop could run not stable due to overheating!

  The speed of the memory is related on the material. This means that the FSB is responsible for the limitation.
  If the FSB would allow support 667 MHz then the memory would also at this speed.

I believe that my laptop has a faulty memory - gel randomly, sometimes will not start sound cmos etc. However when I opened the plastic lid it seems to be an empty memory slot. Assume that the memory is either on board or possibly under the keyboard as in some other models of Toshiba.

  Could someone tell me first where it is and also if it can be replaced. If it cannot be replaced, is it possible to disable it and use the empty accommodation?

  I booted up my laptop today and the icons on the desktop appears larger. I have a click with the right button on the desktop then went properties SETTINGS and noticed that the highest resolution I could get is 1024 x 768, but when I checked the specifications of my computer online, I found that should be by as high as 1280 x 800.

  My laptop is a satellite M40x-149. The cursor goes down to 800 x 600 to 1024 x 768 there is no inbetween.
  I tried restoring the system, but in vain.

  This looks like the display driver needs to be updated. Please see the Toshiba page for an update:

  Before installing the latest version, you must remove the old one. Then restart the laptop and now to install the most recent version.

  Normally if the display driver is installed correctly, you should be able to choose the higher screen resolution.
