Satellite M45 won't start at all

Greetings! My Satellite M45 seems to be really sick! It started a while the battery dies slowly, and finally, the laptop would refuse to go into the BIOS to the battery power.

I ordered a new battery (which I'm still waiting) and continued to use the computer laptop external power, but every now and then, he would refuse to boot from an external power supply.

When you press the power button, the screen 'TOSHIBA Touch with tomorrow' arrives - but with a problem - then crashes (with the fan). The problem (other than the hanging), is that the screen is 'moved' to the left. Rather than fill the entire screen, the start screen "ignores" the rightmost 2 inches and a half inch low and appears in the rest of the screen. Its a little hard to explain...

This morning, refusing to boot at all!

Any ideas? I tried to reinstall the ram, turn on/off without battery, only on the battery, I have removed all the 'extras' and am quite a loss now!

I can't go to the menu of the bios either - so its very frustrating!

Any help would be great!
Michele

Hello

This s a shame! Description does not sound you well ;(
For most hardware is malfunctioning if the laptop is unable to successfully pass the TOSHIBA Touch screen with tomorrow!
Seems the POST (power on self-test) failed!

I think that there's not a lot to do! The laptop must be professionally checked by an authorized technician. Guys might start and run tests from diagnostics and could locate the source of the fault.

Call the ASP in your country and describes the history and details. I guess you will have to send the laptop to the service provider authorized ;(

Good luck

    Hello

My poor mother is quite upset! Its Satellite L30 PSL33E just died.

It completely off and now won't start at all.
Orange light flashes six times when you press the power button.
No hard drive, fan, screen or any other noise / activity.

    She tried without the battery.

A kind of hardware failure, I guess.

Any ideas what this blink code means?

    Thanks in advance,
    D.

I put t know what the code means, but you can read it. short means 0 and 1 long

In any case, the error code means that a hardware failure has been detected on the motherboard and motherboard replacement could help you?
    Why?

because what is really hard to fix a motherboard for laptop very s.
It especially not possible if you n t s have sufficient knowledge, experience, and special tools.

I think that either you contact the ASP in your country and ask a difficulty or you'll have to buy a new laptop ;(

  • Satellite Pro 2100 won't start at all - LED flash

My SP2100 began to have feeding problems and now won't start at all. The AC adapter green LED is lit, that are relevant lights on the body of the laptop (although the "battery charge" light always orange these days). When I try the switch on, startup begins (in fact succeeded on occasion until this morning), however the battery indicator and the adapter lights are flashing, and everything stops again.

On the rare occasions when I'll be past this stage, lights blinking, and the system soon shuts down again with a screen message "low battery." Until this morning, he would sometimes settle, the computer remained on, and the lights showed a State of equilibrium as usual.

Initially I thought that the problem was of course the battery or the AC adapter, but now I'm starting to think that it is with internal PSU of the laptop (although I suspect the battery is probably tour after all this part of loading and unloading).

    Any ideas?

    Hello

I think you're right. Flashing LEDS are a sign that hardware is defective.
I can't say what exactly is the problem, this should be verified by a technicain.
On the other side I don't know if it's worth to repair such an old machine.

  • New Satellite P300 won't start.

I hope you can give me some advice. This week, I bought a new Toshiba P300 GU with Vista Home Premium. It worked fine for about 3 days, but now it won't start at all.

    Symptoms:

    * - Some LED lights blink for a second, then they stop again.
    * - No fan or drive noise.
I tried to remove the battery and power cables and left the computer for a day before trying again. There is no difference except for a few plus-lumieres LED flashes for a second, the first time I try to start the computer. The next time I try, only a few lights flash again.

After I discovered the startup problem I noticed that food is quite noisy. I also noticed that the machine has a small mark RENS in the plastic in the upper left above the screen. (Looks like a defect of manufacturing error or transport) You hardly notice the 1 cm small inconsistency in the plastic, but it doesn't look like a normal scratch.

As I thought that food could be the cause of the problems because of the strange sounds, I brought the maschine to a PC technician today. He tested the food and said it was working normally, but he also said that this should not seem like that. He did not open the laptop, to not cause trouble about the Toshiba warranty.

I bought the computer to the Denmark I wanted a Danish keyboard. However, I live in Portugal, where I use the computer. Where is the PC now.

Do you recommend that I contact an ASP to the Portugal to fix the PC or do you propose I have return the PC to the merchant at the Denmark?

The ASP will be able to exchange the screen and power supply that are not in the State, they must be good obviously both?

    Thanks for the tips!

    Hello

First of all I must say I never had problems after 3 days of my new Toshiba laptop but these things happen and no manufacturing activity is perfect.

In addition, I agree with you. I would bring the laptop to an ASP because it seems that this motherboard is defective but I do not know Mr. it's only my personal opinion, and therefore the laptop should be checked by a technician for laptop.

As far as I know that the laptop is covered by 1 year international warranty and so I would contact the ASP in your country. Ask them if they can fix your computer laptop and if not, you must communicate with other ASP where you bought the laptop.
I think this is the best solution because they can tell you what to do exactly.

Good luck and I m sure that your laptop will be repaired as soon as possible.

    Welcome them

    Hello

My Toshiba Satellite L500D won't start.

When I start my laptop lights three on the light green left, the two on the left are not green or red. I hear the coolingfan, no beeps at startup. When I start the laptop with a systemdisk is the same, nothing happens.

I have contact the supportdesk and they said it could be the hard drive, this seems a little strange for me because I can't begin with a systemdisk.

I hope someone can point me in the right direction

    Hello

Unfortunately on this virtual path, it is not easy to say with certainty what can be the problem.
It will be interesting to know what you did with your computer laptop last days.
Have you installed some day or anything that may be responsible for the issue described?

    Update the BIOS maybe?

Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

When you turn it on, it has nothing now. I tried removing the battery and running on sector only.

    Hello

    Try this;
Remove the battery, disconnect the adapter and wait 1 hour.
Then connect both devices and try to turn on the unit.

If this will not help, then you will need to contact a local ASP.
It seems that something was wrong during the BIOS update process and therefore, the laptop can not initialize correctly.

In my opinion, the HARD drive is certainly the reason why the laptop tries to boot from LAN.
Yes, the laptop computer tries to boot from LAN and, therefore, the error message (PXE - E61: media test failure, check cable) is displayed.

I think that a HARD drive replacement and the new installation of the OS will help you solve this problem.

HP dc 7600 does not start I have no disks.partition to install. (1) \\service 32 blah blah about 18 diferenent 32 files happen when I try safe mode to move forward, then lock tried new monitor I just need to get the safe mode to work

First of all, please do not proceed with the bla, gloom :)

If you can tell us exactly what you see, chances are that someone has seen and knows how to solve this problem.

When you start mode without failure and the system crashes, which is the last line that you see on the screen (blah, blah should not be the answer).

Tell us something about your system:

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?

Have you installed a new hardware or software before this affliction?

Was there something wrong before that lock in question, and to try to fix things, has taken a chkdsk or verification of disk errors?

While you wait, I think you should make you a bootable CD from the Console of the Recovery XP (no XP media required) and get your started on that system and run a chkdsk/r from the XP Recovery Console.

    Here's how:

If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and do not forget.

This is not the same as recovery disks that might have come with the acquisition of the system store.

You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.

The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:

    xp_rec_con. ISO

    Download the ISO from here:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?ueyyzfymmig

Use a new CD and this simple and free program to burn your ISO file and create your bootable CD:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

When you install ImgBurn, DO NOT install the Ask toolbar.

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

Press any key to boot from CD...

    Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the prompt of commands or read on here XP Recovery Console:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/recovery_console_cmds.mspx?mfr=true

A good idea before you start things must first verify the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.

In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.

Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.

Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:

    CHKDSK C: /r

Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.

It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient.  If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

You must run chkdsk/r again until it finds no error to correct.

Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.

You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.

    Hey Buddy,

You can start Windows in safe mode? Before you press F8 key to enter the start menu Windows Advanced to start Windows, and then select Safe mode. If you can start the computer, it seems to be just a driver issue.

And before contacting an authorized service provider that I would try to reinstall Windows from Toshiba recovery disc. If you can test it with factory again.

  • Satellite M35 won't start

    Hello

I received a laptop from a friend who asked me to try and fix it. The problem, it seems to have is the following:

When you press the power button, the phone begins to launch, the Toshiba logo appears on the screen as well as the message press F2 for Setup or other. Unfortunately, it is that he will.
If I press F2, the text at the bottom of the screen changes to enter Setup... but in fact is not (and I left for a long time, just in case). The person who brought it tells me that she was burning a CD and the laptop has frozen, then rebooted and showed the same behavior since then.

I tried a new set of RAM as well as to try to boot from a CD, neither of which he seems to want to do.
If I press ESC just before that the laptop shows the Toshiba logo, the boot sequence appears and stops at mouse initialized (if this help anyone)

I know that I could send the laptop into a Toshiba repair center, but they are trying to keep the cost of the repair from the bottom. The laptop is also two years is not eligible for the guarantee.

Any help or advice on what to try would be great because I am all of these ideas!
    Thank you
    Steve

    Hello Steve

I understand that this person doesn t want to help, but you must know that at some point there is not much to do. If you are not able to enter the BIOS setting there is something wrong with the machine.

You can try to press F8 after starting up laptop to see what is happening, but as I said there must be a serious hardware problem. If nobody here can help you, please communicate with the service. No you don't have to give them a unit to repair, but you can just talk to them and see if the issue as it is known and how much the repair will be cool.

Good luck and please keep us posting if you know more about it.

  • Satellite M40x won't start after upgrade CPU test

I have a portable M40x I took the CPU out of it to replace it with another to test the computer started fine then I stopped and took out and put it's original return CPU, and it wouldn't start. Now it primer with any one of all the CPU. When I turn on the power, all I get is a white screen for a few seconds and the laptop is closed down. Both the CPU is good because I since tested on other computers to make sure that this was not the problem.

Anyone has any ideas on what is the cause?

    I m not surprised.
As far as I know, Toshiba does not support updates, and it is not advisable to do something like that.
It of one that the replacement of CPU on laptops is not easy and not recommended.
The processors used in laptops are connected to the motherboard using a process called TCP (tape carrier package). It is a method of permanent connection and is used in the interest of miniaturization and heat dissipation.

He was awarded the new heat paste? It s necessary and important if you want to connect again the CPU.

It is perhaps a reason for not starting.
I think more details you will get from the service guy in your country
