After login, download mouse white screen, but nothing else.
Can run Explorer.exe manually via the the Task Manager for go, but some applications like Acrobat and Windows Mail does not work.

I searched online and tried all sorts of fixes suggested without result.
Any suggestions gratefully received!

I don't know what the problem is here, but you can try to Win8 will stop completely and check the repair options. Try again with the system restore and roll back the OS a few days back. Maybe this will help.

If you check the Toshiba document you would see that your Satellite P300 is not related to this issue.

In your case I would recommend upgrading the BIOS and graphics driver.
In addition to keep your operating system up-to-date.

I had this problem under Win XP and a MS patch and an update of the graphics card driver helped solve this problem.

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the HP Support forum.

This issue would have occurred because of many things including the recent software updates, virus/malware, corrupted user account profile. To remedy, try this:

1 Please, shut down the computer using the power button

    2. turn on.

2.1 as soon as you press the power button, keep hitting the Esc key (such as tap-tap-tap).

This should open a HP Boot Menu that can resemble the following

    3. choose F11 on the keyboard to open the system recovery options.

The computer should boot from the recovery partition various options you of recovery. Note that the F11 option will work only if the recovery partition is there (not deleted) and intact. From there on, you have prenty of options to choose from.

Please, perform reset of Windows with the possibility to keep your files and save the settings.

This will be "Refresh" your windows but will keep your files and some stuff in places

    Hello

    Its hardware problem or software.
Start the laptop in safe mode means that some essential software process would be disabled and the system would use only a few basics of essential equipment.

So even if the laptop runs correctly in safe mode, it could be a hardware problem.

That's why I think only with the help of HARD drive recovery would be the best way to know what's wrong here...

  • Satellite C855 - white screen after BIOS update

    Hello

    I am a beginner user,
    I have Satellite C855
Yesterday, I downloaded a 'update BIOS"that was sent to my computer.
Since that my screen is blank, there is a hum in the background.

I have a recovery back up on my external hard drive, but of course, the screen is blank so I don't know how the product.

I think I must have downloaded a model or the update was not compatible.

    Hello

White screen do you mean that nothing appears on the screen?
You see the start screen of Toshiba, or if you are able to access the BIOS?

Where this is not possible, try this:
Disconnect the power adapter, remove the battery.
Press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds.
Then connect the two parts (batteries and AC adapter) for the laptop and try to turn on the unit.

In case this would not solve the problem of the laptop, I'm scared of m the BIOS update was not completed successfully and I think that only authorized Toshiba service provider would be able to help you.

  • Satellite C660 - white screen after instalation image recovery

Strange problem. My Satellite C660D-1FM was a bunch of updates from Microsoft (did not updates for centuries as it was used by my daughter and not connected to the internet) and after completing it restarted and I got the Toshiba splash screen and nothing. Holding F8 gives the same problem, tried turning the key '0' and that was the same. Connected to an external monitor and it's the same thing. I can't get into the BIOS and everything seems fine.

Then, thinking that the HDD is maybe defective I mounted another drive hard and fully installed Win7 on a Microsoft DVD (SP1 and all updates) and everything works. Then, I thought I try and restore the laptop to factory settings by default using Toshiba DVD recovery which Id created. Worked well during the installation, all the installed DVD 3 and he's gone through the procedure installation, portable got at the end when he tried to restart it, rebooted and now back to the same error - Toshiba start screen is ok, but then he'll just empty. To convince me that I wasn't going crazy I then reinstalled Win7 my DVD of Microsoft and he moved very well, did all the updates and worked all day today with no problem.

Someone at - it an idea of what's going on?

Hmmm... something like that shouldn't happen.
Do you use the recovery disc for the first time?
Have you noticed the same result on both hard drives?

Problem is that there is not much to do about it and there is no way to change it either in recovery installation runs, or later during the installation of windows is underway.

Try to set the BIOS to default settings and simply try to reinstall the recovery image.

  • White screen after login

Hi, my HP dv6 desire has recently made one of his updates and after having restarted. Now when I turn on my computer it has the Hp, the login logo and after I log in no. There is just a black screen with a burst and the cursor. I know it works because I can hear noises and fan runs, but I don't see my office. But if I use the simple identification of finger past it will take me to the page we I saved on the designated finger. It's the only way I can access the internet. And even then, that's all I can do. I can't use anything else because I can't see my desktop. I can do ctrl alt del and appears, but it does no good. Please help I need this computer to work. I am a student and have many things to type quickly upward. Thank you. Also I did unplug it all, remove the battery, plug in AC adapter / CC, but not the battery, hold the power button for 15 seconds, then put the power adapter but not the battery and turn on thing and nothing has changed. I tried several restarts and stops and nothing has changed.

I fixed it! I have been stopped, wait a few seconds. Turn it on, press f11 loading appears. Then select your keyboard type, I clicked on US and trouble shoot. Then click Refresh for it refreshes all other com without deleting what whatsoever and it worked! Apparently this a problem among the many that made Microsoft Update.

  • Satellite U300 - white screen after reboot

I have a 3 yo Satellite U300 (with Vista), which was usually in good working order until this morning. It froze a little bit when I had iTunes open so I restarted. He now has a completely blank screen.

I tried to stop and restart several times, I tried to plug it into an external monitor and have tried to remove the battery and drain the power I had read recommended on another forum.

It also seems to be from running as it should (turns on, fan is on, etc) but I can't get anything on the screen.

    Any ideas?

    Hey,.

If you can t get an image on the external display, it appears to be a malfunction of the motherboard, CPU, RAM or anything, but the internal screen should be ok

Hmm. In your case, I had read this article, maybe it helps:

In the worst cases, you need professional help of an authorized service provider. Guys can check your laptop and repair because they have access to the databases of Toshiba and order new parts.

  • Windows 7 Pro: crashes with white screen after login

    Dear community,

I have an annoying bug with Windows 7 Professional (64-bit version) and could not find any problem even until that or other forums.

After logging in (choose user and entering the password), the "Welcome" screen appears for a few seconds. Then there is a blank wallpaper (i.e. According to the user settings) and the system is blocked. Everything you see is a mouse cursor (a regular), who move, but not possible interaction.

It does not work to get the Task Manager with CTRL-ALT-DEL in that State, and at least until 30 minutes just don't get past/changes. However, there is ongoing activity of hard disk, according to the LED. Only way out is to cut using the power switch.

The accident happened exactly regularly, but about every start of the second. Sometimes more often (i.e. it takes 3 or 4 attempts to open a session) or sometimes less often (i.e. up to 3 or 4 boots without problem).

Other than that, it is once you have successfully connected, the system works very well.

I tried to remove the user and re-create it, but the bug reappears immediately after.

Any ideas? Or advice where I could find what program/process is actually blocked?

    Hi Ruth & all,

    Thanks for your suggestions.

Troubleshooting took a long time, because I do not use this PC every day and sometimes you can't tell if the problem is really gone or the boot just happened to work several times in a row...

After all, using the clean boot and the reactivation of services/startup items one by one, it seems that I could single out the Internet of G-Data as a cause security suite. I'm trying to do, with their support, if this is a known bug.

    Best,

    Colin
