Satellite M645 - stops down, spontaneously and without provocation

I bought a Toshiba Satellite M645 running Windows 7

When I received it I pressed the power button and light, fan would go, the screen would remain offshore, for about 5 seconds, then the light would be off, a click sound and the fan turns off.

I sent it to the filing of Toshiba and they fixed.

I came back and it stand up all together cool.

Then it starts turning off in the middle of using it. Totally spontaneous and not associated with a particular program I use. First, the screen goes black and then one of the few things that happens.

1. the power light lights up and if I move the mouse quite the screen could return and I will be recorded through the window.

2. the power indicator turns off and the fan turns off but the computer attempts to turn around. This rarely succeeds and can hear a click after each attempt. I am not anything touching.

3. the power led turns off and the computer shuts down completely. When can I get back my icons are always rearranged.

When it closes completely I am greeted by screen "windows off not correctly" or "there was a problem launching windows" repair screen options if I can get a reboot to work. Often after the problem occurs, and I turn the computer back on it will take several times before it seems to 'catch' and load Windows but often I'll push the button, the system begins to start but it won't load that front Windows of the screen and the light turns his back on the wide.

I've only used this computer on a desk without blockages, so I don't think overheating is likely.

I sent Toshiba new deposit as this issue did not go far with everything I tried, including antivirus ESET scan. I have only possession for 3 months at this point. I sent and 2 weeks later I come back it with a note "could not reproduce the problem."

So my last resort and the only thing that has not been tried even from Toshiba is to completely reload windows and factory but I don't know much about computers then before as I do I want to ask.

Don't you think he has a chance to solve the problem? Ideas to solve this would be great. I'm desperate and do not feel comfortable sending again to "fix".

Hello

I recommend to retrieve the laptop using the Toshiba recovery disc.
To do this, and check if it happens again.
Theoretically, this could be only a software problem and could be solved by the new installation of the OS.
But in the worst case, it could be hardware related. which means that you need to get in touch with the ASP guy again you know :(

    Hello together,

3 weeks ago, I bought the Satellite Pro A300D laptop. Since the beginning, I have the problem that the laptop gets hot and stops less than an hour!

I'm not running any application of high performance and I keep the left side of the free laptop so that the hot air can get away! I already cleaned the heatpipe using a vacuum cleaner.
It could not be! I need the laptop for work and that it is impossible...
What can I do? Should I send him?
    Help, I'm grateful

There could still be dust stuck in the radiator, but you say that its only 3 weeks to dust is unlikely.

Its under warranty, so take it to a Service Center for repair. This may have the thermal grease refreshed or something.

  • Satellite P10 - start/stop down do not work

I hope someone can help me. My Satellite P10 problems start and stop.

When it starts, it goes to a black screen with white wording, asking if I want to start windows normally or in SafeMode etc - he doesn't let me start normally, so I choose the option "last good start of files" (or similar wording).

The pc then door on commissioning. I did a system restore, but it made no difference. Once it is started, it's a lottery if she going to be ok, or if he's going to crash.

Stopping down, I have to press the off button, there is no other way it will stop.

I ran avg, spybot, adaware lavasoft, xsoftspy, registry mechanic, spywareblaster etc but it doesn't seem to be something "wrong".

The only thing I installed recently is the new avg 7.5 and legacy family tree software - I downloaded both programs on the sites of manufacturers. AVG is free, but I just could have visited a site of crack for the Legacy code :)

I would really appreciate it if someone is nice to give me some advice :)

You didn't describe what happens exactly when you want to turn off but I imagine some don t want to be off process and maybe somehow, blocks, unity. When you force the unit turns off after that put on it is nothing unusual that start menu occurs.

In your problem, the only problem is the unit of decommissioning, correctly of course. I recommend you to check all running processes before you turn the power off and try to identify some of them. You can check what happens if you change some of them manually from the Task Manager.

  • Satellite A300 stops without reason

    Hello

Since the transition from win vista to win 7, my Toshiba Satellite A300 stops without reason.
To install win 7 at Toshiba, I downloaded all the drivers for Win 7 and I installed.
    The bios has been changed.

    What should do?
Thank you for your future responses.

    Hello Dustin

Everything on this world happens with some reason.
I have Satellite A300 too and that you are using Win7 32 bit for 6 months. It works perfectly, and so far I did not notice a problem with it.
To be honest I don't know what you did exactly, but if you want to have fine under Win7 Satellite A300 install Win7 clean version and other stuff like follows:

    -Win7
    -chipset driver
    -Storage Manager
    -display driver
    -driver sound
    -modem driver
    -utility supervisor
    -infrared
    -patches
    -configfree
    -VAP
    Hardware - toshiba
    Control - HDMI
    -WLAN driver

Everything works well but lacks some drivers

    Added Vista tips:
Toshiba - help - working properly
    -Card reader - installed correctly
-Webcam driver for A500 - tested with Skype - works correctly.
    Driver - Synaptics

    Hello!

Is the laptop warm when it stops? It could be that the fan does not work or that he had to clean it with a jet of compressed air.

    Hi Vilus

During the long period of use, the cooling modules may be blocked by dust.
This would prevent air from traffic and could lead to a higher temperature.
I have experience with such behavior cell phone because this happened to my two different notebooks from different manufacturers.

The cooling modules couldn t run with the best performance because of the dust and I was forced to use a jet of compressed air that has helped remove a lot of dust and debris.
I blew air through the vents and fans and I was really surprised how much dust was hidden inside the laptop.

In any case, after this procedure accelerated, the temperature went down and laptop didn t stopped automatically.

  • Satellite U300 falls down and cannot wake up from sleep mode

    Hello

I got a Satellite U300 a few days and I get in trouble, when the laptop goes into sleep mode.
The thing is that when he goes to sleep, the screen turns off but the light stays on (blue), instead of flashing with an orange color.

It is not possible to wake the portable computer, and the only solution is to restart the computer.

I tried the different possibilities to enter sleep mode, and I get the problem mainly when the computer is in high-performance Vista and when you press the stop button in the quick menu.

I know Vista gives a certain a lot of problems, but I didn't know anyone here who face the same problem.
Should I send the laptop back to technical support?

    Thanks in advance,

I had the opportunity to work a little with several laptops from Toshiba, and one of them was Satellite U300. After a brief check of the basic functions for laptop I can say with certainty that switch between mode and standby/hibernation mode work well and I didn't notice any problems.

I really don't understand what is wrong with that, but please do:
-If you want to switch to standby mode, choose option using the button START.
-Wait a bit and I hope after a few seconds, the laptop will change automatically in standby mode (blinking amber LED)
    -Close the cover
-Wait a moment opened the lid and press the power button
I really hope that your laptop will start correctly and you will be able to use the OS again.

    Good bye

Just updated to ios 9.2 (from 8 something) and my ipod touch is stuck at 'update of the iCloud parameters.  I can not restore from iTunes because I have to disable "Find my iPod touch" first of all, and I can't do as the iPod is blocked with the message to update.  Forcing a stop down does not work that for some reason, I am unable to turn off my iPod touch manually.  I tried to turn off my wifi to see if that stops the iPod touch, but he always keeps on the message to iCloud.  Do I just wait until the battery sinks so that it forces a reboot?

Place your iOS device into Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If the recovery mode does not work, try the DFU mode.

    To restore backup see:

If you restore from a backup of iCloud apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from backup iTunes, applications and music must be in iTunes since synchronized as music media library and apps are not included in the backup of the iOS device what iTunes does.

You can re-download most of iTunes purchases by:

  • Satellite A200 doesn't start and clicking noise

Problems with my A200 Satellite, which is about 2 years old. 2 days ago, only it beeps once. I have

continued his work then stop down without any problem. I rebooted again and had no problems. Then, since yesterday it will not passed Microsoft logo at the beginning upward. After waiting a while there is a click from him. Pretty much the same thing happened to me the year last with the same laptop. From scratch and reinstall the operating system solved the problem (so far).

Of course, I can do this again, but I want to know if it of a known problem with this type of laptop or is it something I'm doing unintentionally?

  • Satellite M645 - how to reset the touch buttons?

    Hello everyone.

I have a Satellite M645 with Windows 7 / 64 bit and, recently, some tactile buttons have stopped working. It's the eco utility, wireless, lighting, play/pause, cut and press the START/STOP button. Strangely, the volume up and down work well.

All buttons are turned on all the time and when they touch (more consistent) offshore it's just that the function they are intended to do is not made.

For this, I found a similar threat (http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=248139𼥋), but when trying to install * Toshiba value added package * and * Flash Cards Support utility * from the website the file I download cannot be installed I get this message:

"The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows is running." "Check the computer's system information to see whether you need a x 86 or x 64 program version and then contact your provider.

I tried to install both (x 86 & x 64), but none of them works. That's all for now, I really appreciate any solution tips or on the side, you can give me.

    Hey,.

Where did you downloaded package of added value and utility to Support Flash Cards? I did a Google search and it seems that the Satellite M645 is an American model and therefore all the drivers and tools can be downloaded here:
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com

Make sure you download the correct version of VAP and Flash Cards Support utility. This means that if you have Windows 7 64-bit, you must download the 64-bit version of too.

Another question: you have installed all drivers as chipset?

Also, try to load the default settings in the BIOS and test again.

  • Is it possible to install a card 3 G SIM to Satellite M645-S4070 reader

    Hello!

I have laptop Satellite M645-S4070 with serial No. YA153766K.

It is ready for WiMAX and also has a slot for SIM card but does not have a SIM card reader.
I took a slight peek inside and it doesn't have something that has '3G' written on it.

Would it not possible to install a SIM card of my portable player?

I know, I could also use USB 3 G modem but it would be much more convenient to get connection without additional devices around my laptop.

    Thank you!

    Hello

As far as I know there are models that supports 3 G or 4 G WiMAX Intel
    Your device supports 4G (WiMAX)

I m not quite sure if it of possible to update this unit with a module 3G but if it would be possible, this should be done by an authorized Toshiba.

By the way: your laptop belongs to the Toshiba US series and was released for the American market so I recommend the Toshiba forum we:

  • Satellite A200 stops randomly - I may have a solution

    Hello

I have a Toshiba satellite A200-1sj, but the laptop have problems and it shuts it self randomly.
I changed the thermal paste from the GPU and CPU, and this is unrelated to the heat because it sometimes could turn off even after the first start when it is cold. I started the case from the jury, just naked naked with the cooling pipes on it and it would stop once again, without its hard, wifi or modem adapter so it is not related to them. I also tested with another charger to power supply an A200 - 23 k friends and she always stops if it is not in this topic or the other.

BUT! The big but is what I discovered and I think toshiba is to blame! This problem is related to the voltage regulator way and it does not work properly because some add reason. I also found a sort of solution last night after a bios save and exit the fan stuck at 100% and the machine have not stopped since then and it looks like when the fan is regulated and it rises and lowers the tensions while the problem appears.

The saddest is that I left the low-profile bios cpu, so it runs at only 1 GHz and I fear of change in the bios because I can lose the fan of 100% and the machine will get unstable yet! :(.

Current BIOS I have is 2.60 and I think try 5.30 if the machine starts to close again, but I think that it would not go because the fan is going to regulate again. (.

Y at - it someone from Toshiba which can create a bios with a constant voltage to the fan, so not vertically, there is time which could be less painful for the regulator I guess and can bring stability to the decent sound.

I am open to any suggestion,

    Best regards

Thanks for your interesting Agile ad.
Problem is that this forum is a user forum and if you want to discuss this with Toshiba, you must contact the nearest authorized service provider.

They have maintenance manuals, all the necessary technical data and also sufficient experience with that, so I think that Toshiba technicians are right people to discuss the issue described.

  • Problems to jump on the Satellite M645-S4050

    Hello

I have a Satellite M645-S4050 and I bought it in July of this year.

I noticed that if there is something on my computer, if (on itunes) music or a video, and the laptop is moved (even if the office he sits on is struck slightly or I put my elbow down too hard) he jumps like the old walkmen used to. Once or twice he even got stuck like a phonograph. I have it brought to where I bought it and the guy said it was the way the new software were made in a large number of hard disks more quickly and the only way to do something would buy a smaller hard drive and any transfer.

But I have not noticed worsens and I am reluctant to to believe, because the point of a laptop is a computer modila. I can't even listen to music or play Minesweeper in the car because the jump is so bad he messes with how the computer functions. Is this true and can I do about it?

    Thank you
    NA

I think it's because it's preinstalled HDD protection Utility. The same thing happens to me when I listen to music or watch movie and want to move the laptop to another location.

This utility is preinstalled on your laptop?

    There is nothing unusual.

The first few weeks, I got Windows 7 32 Bit on my Satellite Pro P300D 201, it worked fine. But suddenly, there was a blue screen with the label "reference_by_pointer" I've tried to stop as usual. I have not installed any new software a few days before (just a few updates "Windows Update"). Now this apears blue screen every time I try to stop. Hibernation and energy saving still work.

    Hello

Perhaps Windows isn't compatible with your software up-to-date and causing this BSOD. You should try to use the restore system to a previous state.

Also have you updated the software for your mobile phone? Maybe it's not compatible with Windows 7's again. Visit the site of the factory for an update.
I have the same phone but I m using MyPhoneExplorer which works quite well on Windows 7 but I m using the Bluetooth connection and not on the cord.
