Satellite M65-9065: Question of LCD lid latch

I just replaced my lcd on my Toshiba Satellite M65-9065. My lock is not working properly and I think there may have been a small source, which requires him to take.

Can anyone attach a photo of how the latch is attached. The mine moves freely but does not relieve in place when the cover is closed, as it has done.

Thanks in advance!

I have toshiba satellite M65-S809 CPU pentium M740. I would like to change processor pentium M770. Can I do this? What is the highest quality of CUT, I can go to?

    Hello

THEORETICAL, it s possible. If you are a technician who is familiar with these machines, which has the appropriate tools (a few special screwdriver, the right stick, cooling...) and the know-how to disassemble and reassemble the machine, the software that is necessary to reconfigure the Bios (because of the new processor) and if you don t mind not you won´t have a performance huge gain then feel free to do so.

In practice, it s is not possible, since you really won´t benefit from the upgrade to next available processor, which in your case, already one of the top-of-the-cream...

So, if I were you I do so wouldn.

I have a satellite M65 and the problem is that the current bios is not 100% compatible with windows vista. Indeed, vista has not detected my card (nvidia gforce go 6600) video as well.
Now, his work as a vga adapter.
The question is based on 100% of the incompatibility of the bios, any idea when toshiba will come out a new bios for this machine?

    Kind regards.

    Hello Federico

Problem is that no one knows exactly what laptop models will be supported for Vista. I put t know how it works for the laptop models to the United States, but only what you can do is to check the http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_home.jsp from time to time.

    Hello

Can I put my card Intel pro 2200BG on Satellite M65-S9092 wireless network so that it is no longer compatible with Windows 7? The Intel Pro 2200BG is no longer supported by Intel as it was abandoned and so they have not issued a new driver so that IPv6 works.

    Hello

I think that it shouldn't be a problem to upgrade the WLan card.
As far as I know its a card wireless network of miiPCI and you would need to also use a WLan card which would support the miniPCI interface.

The wireless network card supports two pins for the WLan antenna cable.
Usually, you must connect a white cable to the HAND and a black to the auxiliary voltage

    All that s

  • Satellite 1800: Fault pin plastic LCD display!

"Look at the LCD display screen. If you can see a small image on the screen, backlight fluorescent display screen can be disabled. Light of a flashlight directly to the screen will make it much easier to see if or not there is a screen image actually present, but not turned on. On most Toshiba laptops, there is a small plastic or metal pin near one of the LCD cover hinges. When the display lid is closed (closed), this PIN is pressed against an internal switch that turns off the backlight, saving battery power. You can turn on the backlight by pressing repeatedly on this PIN. The normal screen image will be then suddenly appear or reappear. »

It's a recommendation, I took for my Satellite 1800 Toshiba help suggestiuons... However, when I type the PIN, she don't flick the backlight on and then turns off very quickly. I can't stay!
It drives me crazy and I can't find anywhere on the net wherer this fault is mentioned.

The problem has gradually worsened over time. I used to be able to move the angle of the screen and tapping the PIN to operate. But now, I don't have a chance so he could stay forever! I think I have to open the screen and check if the PIN needs to re - solder or perhaps the FL lamp wire is pinching somehow...

I do not know... I am far from being a geek... also... What does FL stand for?

    PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP.

    Hi Liam,

The description of your problem suggests that the FL inverter has failed. It is a component that provides the background lighting for your screen.

Normally when you close the PIN you are talking about depresses a switch that turns off the UPS FL. If you can get a momentary illumination of you LCD when you prod this switch I think the inverter FL itself is defective.

The bad news is that you will need to take your laptop to a partner of authorized Service for repair. The good nes, it's that the FL inverter is not one of the more expensive items.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite M65-S9063 - vertical white lines appearing at the bottom of the screen!

    Hi all - ideas...

Model M65-S9063 about 3 weeks ago a white vertical line appeared to the bottom of the screen, it's around a mil thick.

Then yesterday a second is appeared, a little thinner this time. They are still there even after a reboot! It does not appear that any video is displayed as they are always white. I was wondering maybe graphics card? Or maybe the LCD itself?

    Has anyone seen this before?

    Thank you very much

    Hello!

You simply determine the reason for this question. Connect an external monitor to the laptop and see what happens.
If you see the same error on the external display, it s a map or graphic display driver problem. If you don t have this problem on the external screen, you must go to an authorized service provider to swap the internal display.

If you use a driver display Toshiba not you must remove it and test it with Toshiba drivers.

    I hope I could help a bit.

    Good bye

  • Satellite A100 PSAARA - Questions about RAM, VGA and BIOS

I used Toshiba Satellite A100 PSAARA, now I have a few questions:

    1. I have updated the BIOS for my laptop (new version 6.0 to version 5.10): everything seems to work ok, but after I rebooted the laptop, it automatically connect a black screen with these warning "checksum bad sectors, F1: default settings, F2:..." (remember exactly).
I pressed F1, my Toshiba reboot works ok after that, so there's something wrong with this warning?

    2. I upgraded RAM to 2 GB (1 GB + 1 GB) with the KingMax brand, if the RAM expandable max I can do on my laptop?

    3. This Toshiba laptop use to edge or video card, I check my Nvidia geforce card real estate (laptop) and I saw this: memory: 256 MB + RAM shared memory: 256 MB = 512 MB of total memory?
So: can I upgrade my card graph and maximum card that I can use?

    4. I cannot set 75 Hz for refresh monitor, can see 65 Hz

    Thanks for your help!

    1. try to load the default settings in the BIOS. Then it should work.

    2. the Satellite A100 supports 4 GB max.

    3. No, the graphics card can not be changed. It s soldered on the motherboard and cannot be exchanged.

    4. what internal or external monitor? Monitor internal and other s LCD works best with 60 Hz.

  • Satellite Pro 4220; Question on price

    Hello

Some time ago I found an old laptop Toshiba Satellite Pro series machine, model 4220. It has a Pentium 3 450 Mhz, video card Trident with MB and 256 MB of ram. The only question is, how much it will cost when it is released, and when it came out.

    Thanx.

Wow, your question is very special ;)

Hmm this laptop was released many years ago it s an oldie :D
As I remember it came out November 1999!

But unfortunately, I have not found any price! I think that it of not possible to say what cost this laptop.
Notebook dealers create portable final price and it depends on many factors such as country, supply and demand, etc...!

But maybe a few grandmothers and grandfathers could recall the price ;)

  • Satellite A300 speaker questions and cracked screen

I've had my laptop for almost a year and suddenly something has happened to the speakers.

When I listen to music on my laptop there is a separate "fuzzy" behind the sound and also if it does not play music and open media player (ex. itunes) there are weird beeps and a sound that looks like when someone breathes in a micro comes from the speakers.

This came out of nowhere and I was wondering is a necessary replacement speaker or whatever it is and is - it covered by the warranty?

My second question is that I got recently my laptop from my bag to laptop to discover there was a crack in the LCD, and the ink ran in the right corner. I don't know how it happened as it was beautiful when I put it in the laptop bag and he was not being pushed around, just sitting in the backseat of my car?

Is this under warranty or is it possible that I can get a cheap replacement that won't take days to do what I need my laptop for uni!

    Thank you
    Jess

    > When I listen to music on my laptop there is a separate "fuzzy" behind the sound and also if there is no music playing and a media player is opened (e.g. itunes) there are weird beeps and a sound that resembles when someone breathes into a microphone from the speakers.

Have you noticed the same thing using earphones?
You need to connect the headphones, and if the same would be noticeable then it s not pregnant related question

    > My second question is that I got recently my laptop from my bag to laptop to discover there was a crack in the LCD, and the ink ran in the right corner. I don't know how it happened as it was beautiful when I put it in the laptop bag and he was not being pushed around, just sitting in the backseat of my car?

I doubt that this would be covered by the warranty because such crack screen may not appear without any pressure. That is why I think that this would be covered by the warranty.
In any case, you could ask your local ASP on details and reviews.

  • Satellite A80-154: Questions on BIOS/cooling

    Dear Sir or Madam,

I recently bought a Satellite A80 154 of the German retailer "Media Markt" for only EUR 1299,-.

Although the general impression of the laptop is fine, I have two questions that make me think back to the seller. The questions are:

    (1) cooling system is too strong, in particular Linux, which is my main platform. However, the problem occurs on Windows, where I am able to slow down the CPU frequency (but not GPU) with an average success in terms of reduction of sound intensity.

    (2) bios of a laptop is by Phoenix and not Toshiba, which I expect to find (it's a big problem for me, since the Linux kernel for Toshiba laptops support is much better than that of Phoenix BIOS).

    Here are my questions:

Toshiba selling different versions of the Satellite A80 154? (for example a good market with Phoenix bios and more expensive with a Toshiba bios and improved cooling). If they did, I would invest the additional EUR 300,- and buy one directly from Toshiba (if possible at all). I also ask, because I tried to update the Bios with version 1.70 - WIN (is this Toshiba BIOS?) from the BIOS download site unfortunately without success (he complains about the size of the bad bios).
Is it possible to operate an A80-154 with BIOS Toshiba (and this would reduce the level of noise)?

    Sincerely yours.
    Martin Spindler.
PS: Will to sell Toshiba laptops supports the new standard MXM in the near future?
PPS: Please respond directly to the [email protected]

    Hello

1, on the volume of the cooling system, I can only advice you the Toshiba Power Saver or 4.23 SPEEDFAN tool.

2, which has your BIOS model depends on the series of products. If you want a Toshiba BIOS, you must choose a laptop as the M40 Satellite, Tecra M3, Tecra A4 or Tecra M4.
You can also ask your local dealer or test it!

  • Satellite C660-162 wake ups opening lid

    I have a Toshiba Satellite C660-162.

I just bought 2 days ago and I found that I have a problem with the portable fashionable release cover "sleep" and I close the lid and then reopen this return, wakes the laptop mode "Eve".

Sometimes he wakes and other times he is not waking up. This case occurs when the tower is connected. If it is running on battery, open the lid is not wake the portable computer so I need a solution to this problem.

I need a time only option to wake up or he wake up using the power button.
    Thank you

    Hello

I think you should just change the setting in the power of Win 7 options.
    Check this doc from Toshiba:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD12017W0001R01.htm

Here, you should take a look at the option named the cover and the Power button.
    _Lid narrow action_
+ Specifies the computer response to closing the cover of the display: standby, enter Hibernation mode, shut down (shut down), or nothing to do. This option provides a convenient way to put the computer to sleep before taking a plane or leave the Office for a meeting. +

  • Satellite C660 - RAM Question

    Hi all

I have a question for the Satellite C660 I bought a week ago. Now, I noticed that it uses DDR3 1066 Mhz RAM and with the updated technology on a monthly basis, I wonder if I could upgrade to DDR3 1333 Mhz?

I read this model is expandable to 8 GB of RAM, but could not find a speed upgrade post anywhere.

At first, I have to confirm that your Satellite can be improved up to 8 GB of RAM and it is good decision to upgrade RAM to improve performance.
Upgrading Toshiba offers 4 GB of RAM with PA3677U-1M4G part number, then you can use two of them. This module is 1 066 MHz.

In General, you can use modules faster but that doesn t mean your laptop will be faster than 1066 MHz modules. If the motherboard FSB is faster at 1066 MHz modules need to slow down and will work at the set speed.

If your car can ride with 250 km/h, but the speed is limited to 120 km/h there is no many advantages for you, except maybe high gasoline use. Do you understand what I mean?

  • Satellite A100 - options to close the lid for the laptop are not available

    Hello
I have a Toshiba Satellite A100 - it came with Vista - I carefully cleaned the HARD drive and installed XP - I deleted the partitions etc. and started with a HDD in a perfect state of cleanliness.

Then, I downloaded all Toshiba drivers that are available for my model.

When I close the lid it still fully powered - there is no option to go into sleep mode, Hibernate etc in the options of "close cover" - the only option is the "status quo".
How can I get the standby extended/standby/power options back?

    Your help would be appreciated

    Helen

Did you installed Toshiba Power Saver utility?
These options that you can find.
