  I just installed * Windows7 * on my laptop, it's an almost 4 years * Satellite M70-144 * (PSM71E-01400LED).
  I don't know how to make my built in media player buttons. I don't see any missing hardware driver, but still nothing happen when I press them.
  I tried to install the * tiles for Mobility Center * (for 32-bit vista), but still no use, I don't even know if it's the right thing to download?

  It is a driver problem. I don't see any for W7 for your laptop. If those for Vista don't cut it, you probably will not going to be able to make it work.

  I bought the Epox bluetooth dongle. It also manages the bluetooth version 2.0 and 30 metres range.

  Technology is not the same thing as on desktop computers and the increase of heat could be a bigger problem after the upgrade.

  You n t need to reinstall the Toshiba controls again.

  What you need to do is to properly configure the Toshiba control button.

  In Control Panel, you can find the Toshiba control utility.

  The first tab called buttons provides two parameter to configure the Internet and CD/DVD button.

  There, you have to assign the Internet Explorer (default browser) to Internet button and apply the changes.

  It should help.

• Satellite M70-144: Linux monitor/graphics card problem

  As the topic says I had problem with the starting x server on my linux partition on my laptop.
  I tried several different distributions, but nobody seems to be better.

  I got Fedora Core 6 on it now and I at least get the Terminal so I can edit the Xorg.conf file and I download the latest drivers for my graphics a x 700 Radeon card. But nothing seems to be an improvement of the black screen when you try to start X.

  Anyone else have the same problem and fixed or know any good HOWTO?

  I don't have a M70. But a good tip is to get Knoppix. Knoppix is a bootable CD so you can run linux without installing anything. I had a few times where I couldn't have some hardware to work, but could Knoppix. Looking at what Knoppix used drivers, I could get it working in installation of Linux.

  You can get Knoppix here: http://www.knopper.net/knoppix-mirrors/index-en.html burn it to a CD and boot from it.

  If your software does not allow to write ISO files, then get http://infrarecorder.sourceforge.net/

  I installed a graphics card drivers on 3rd party Web site; + www.omegadrivers.net+
  It helped launch the counter strike on my laptop.

  But note; These drivers are not tested on the Toshiba laptop and you can install it at your own risk. I mean there is no guarantee that the laptop will run stable after installing all 3rd party drivers.

  1.) sometimes the Windows OS peut t close because some different background processes are running and won t stop automatically. Most 3rd party applications or / and bad registry entries are responsible for these issues.

  2.) are you sure that the laptop don t goes into sleep mode? If the laptop is in sleep mode so usually it of necessary to use the power button.

  The fact is that Toshiba to recommend to use the Toshiba graphics card drivers because this driver has an overheating protection. These drivers one specially designed for the use of the laptop and it s not recommended to use any other rivers that are designed for desktop use.

  It seems that this laptop just support DDR2 400/533 memory modules.
  You can upgrade the memory for max 2048 MB and you use these modules:
