Hello

I m not a Satellite M70 owner but as far as I know this laptop comes with SATA drives. But you can check yourself if you remove the HARD drive and then you can see which interface it is.
If you have a SATA interface, you can buy each HARD drive you want. On interface SATA there is no capacity limit.

Normally you can install Windows 7 but it s not released yet. Theoretically, it should work but I'll wait until it's official market.

With a new HARD disk, you use the Toshiba recovery disc too. Why not? It s not dependent on the HARD drive you have so just boot make up and follow the instructions on the screen.

If you have any other questions, please let us know. :)

I'm getting bad sectors on the hard drive of my laptop, so I guess I should pay for a new one – but who are able to A210-1CO?

    Hello

Satellite A210 uses SATA hard drives and you need a new HARD drive with SATA interface. You can buy each HARD drive you want, for example 160 or 320 GB. On interface SATA there is no capacity limit.

In addition, most SATA HDDs have already SATA2 interface but its compatible downgrade to SATA1.
I would have preferred a HARD disk at 5400 RPM. Of course, you can buy a HARD drive with 7200 RPM, but they produced more heat and noise. For most of the applications are pretty 5400 RPM.

I have good experiences with Hitachi and Seagate hard drives.

    Good bye

  • What HARD drive I can install on Satellite Pro 4320?

I can install disk HARD 40 GB in Satellite Pro 4320 or it is great for my laptop.

    Hello

I guess that the laptop is very old, because I found on the internet that it was delivered with a 6 GB HARD drive! Wow

I think that if the laptop has been delivered with the 6GB, so it is not possible to use a 40 GB HARD drive. I'm afraid that the BIOS will not recognize this large size m.

I think it's maybe s possible to use a 20 GB but you know s just a suggestion. In my opinion, you should test the HARD drive before you buy.

  • Satellite 5200-802 - what HARD drive can I use?

    Hello

I have a 5200-802 Satellite with a 80 GB HDD (IDE) and I would build in more.

I would like to know what is the largest room, which will be accepted by this laptop. Is it 100 GB or 120 GB, 160 GB or 250 GB or 400GO or?
    Who manufactures?

    Everyone knows?

    Thanks in advance

What do you think is the biggest HARD drive you can use?
I think that this question can be easily answered: it s a HARD drive to 120 GB because the laptop has a limitation of LBA 28 bits in the IDE. If you want to know more about this please consult this website: http://www.48bitlba.com

If you need a 120 GB 2.5 HARD drive and you can buy each production. I have good experiences with Seagate and Hitachi.

  • Satellite P100 - 10 p - what HARD drive I can use?

What larger and faster HARD drive I can replace the 12.5 mm 2, 5 inch 200 GB 4200 RPM in my Satellite P100 - 10 p with?
I can only find readers of 9.5 mm.

Toshiba is usually inaccessible and as usual hasten to refer to their "dealers" who do not know their elbow for their...
Why do we support these faceless idiots who are only willing to deal with the ministries or other bulk public-money-wasting buyers?

I discovered something this laptop runs the height of 2.5 inches x 9.5 mm HDD 40 GB, 60 GB, 80 GB, 100 GB and 120 GB and 160 GB (and more) internal height of 2.5 in. x 12.7 mm drives.

Looks like both hard drives 2.5 SATA (9.5 mm and 12.7 mm) can be used!

  • What HARD drive I can use in Satellite U300 (issue of SATA)

I have 4 years Toshiba U300. Recently, the hard drive (200 GB 5400 RPM) broked down.
I want to replace but I don't know that can use any SATA II HARD drive, or I have to use the HDD with SATA I?
On some forums, I found two users that puted new HARD drive in the old laptop and they complained that the speed of OS boot was hopeless.

So the question is what HARD drive should I buy for this laptop?
    (I prefer capacity 320 or 500 GB)

    Hello

SATA controller is downward compatible, you can use SATA I or SATA II HDD.
It is important that you would use SATA 2.5 HDD. The size is not very important for 500 GB configuration issues should be ok too.

  • Satellite 2430-402: which HARD drive I can use for an upgrade

    Hello

I have a 2430-402 satellite and the hard drive is full. Can someone tell me the greatest, he will take care and what kind do I buy? (Probably not PATA or SATA but I should look into IDE)

    Thank you

    Jez

    Hello

You are right. To my knowledge, the Satellite 2430 was delivered with an improved interface to drive HARD IDE (ATA-5). Therefore, we must look for IDE hard disks.

I'm not sure about Mr. size of HARD drive max. I think that Toshiba provides official information what size HARD drive max can be used. I presume to test

Laptop has been delivered with a40GB HARD disk. Am I wrong?
Hmm in my opinion the 60GB HDD should run. You might also try a 80 GB HARD drive if it s compatible.
But I really very skeptical about larger sizes.

    Best regards

  • What HARD drive I can use on my Satellite A660-13D?

    Hello

I'm looking for any compatible for a Toshiba SATELLITE A660-13D hard disk drive as the one inside is dead now.

This model comes with the laptop is a TOSHIBA MK6465GSX 640 GB, SATA 3 Gb/second 5400 RPM 2.6 revision

Official suppliers of Toshiba quoted me 130 euros por the same model.

I can't have such model through any other store or the internet.

There are a lot of different new TOSHIBA HDD in the market with the largest capacity and much less expensive than the MK6465GSK.

Can I install any new toshiba HDD on my SATELLITE A660-13D?

Is there any toshiba page where I can find out what toshiba HARD drive are compatible with my SATELLITE?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

    Fernando

What you need is 2.5 SATA HDD and it may be Toshiba but it may also be of some other manufacturers. You don't need anything special. If possible consult your dealer and they can help you choose one that suits.

Now, when you need a new HARD drive maybe you should think about upgrading with SSD. Disc SSD is much faster and use of SSD with your laptop will rapidly increase the performance of s for laptop.

More info on SSD, you can read on http://storage.toshiba.eu/cms/en/index.html

If you have any other questions you are welcome.

  • Satellite 2770 - what HARD drive I can use?

    Hello

Can I use a 80 GB IDE HDD for Satellite 2770?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Wow. The Satellite 2770 is really an oldie
He did not know to me that someone is still used as portable ;)

    Back to your question;
I think that it should be possible to upgrade the 80 GB HARD disk.
I put t known what HDD IDE controller was built in, but it should support the LBA 28 bits and, therefore, up to 128 GB HARD drive should be recognized.

But this is only my personal opinion anyway it s worth a try

  • What HARD drive max can I use satellite 3000 514

    Hey all,.

What is usable by the 3000-514 maximum capacity hard drive. It comes standard with 20 GB but I can't find anything online that gives this information.

    Kind regards
    Samurai Sjakkie

    Hello

I m not 100% sure but to my knowledge the BIOS of Satellite 3000 supports a limitation of the HARD drive and you can only use the IDE 2.5 ", 9.5 mm HDD s up to 30 GB.
Seems that BIOS will not recognize large s 30 GB HARD drive!

I found this info somewhere in the internet. But you know the guy. These are only suggestions. If you wish, you can try any other disk HARD s i.e. 40 or 60 GB. It would be interesting to know if the HARD disk is running or not. Are you referring to the merchant of HARD drive if it of possible to test some HARD drive sizes!

If you have more information, please report it here! Thank you ;) see you later

  • You can install satellite M100-164 - what hard drive?

    Hello

I have a Satellite M100-164... This is a version of Middle East the M100, almost identical to the European version, as far as I can tell.
    (short only model no psma0e)

I want to install a new hard drive. The specification says he uses a 5400 RPM Serial - ATA hard disk.

I can use any hard disk of this type, or are there other things to monitor (for example depth of drive, the pin configuration?)

for example can I use this drive:
"Toshiba MK2555GSX 250 GB 2.5 SATA HARD drive internal
    [http://www.amazon.co.uk/Toshiba-MK2555GSX-250GB-2-5-Inch-Internal/dp/B002752SLU]

... or I should he play safe and use one that explicitly says its for the M100, for example this one on Ebay:
    "250 GB hard drive Toshiba Satellite L35-L45 M100, M105"
    [http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/250Gb-Hard-Drive-Toshiba-Satellite-L35-L45-M100-M105_W0QQitemZ190276248831QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Co mputing_HardDrives_RL]

    Thank you

    Hello!

On the SATA drives, there is no capacity limit and you have on each HARD disk the same pinout. This means that you can use each SATA HDD you want and also SATA2 hard drives because they downgrade compaitible then standard SATA1.

However, you can buy the cheaper version on Amazon. This HARD drive should work as well in Notepad.

    I hope I could help a bit.

    Good bye

  • Satellite L450D - what HARD drive I can use?

Will try a hard drive to a desktop pc in the present, going to work or laptops have different hard drives?

    Hey Buddy,

Desktop computers and laptops have different drives. Desktop hard drives are bigger (3.5) and laptops using only 2.5. On Wikipedia, there is a nice article on hard drives:
    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Hard_disk_drive

Satellite L450D already supports SATA drives if you need a new 2.5 HDD with SATA interface.

  • What HARD drive max can I use for Satellite 2410-504

    Hello

I have a Toshiba 2410-504 P241E the 20 GB drive HARD is almost full, and I would like to buy another larger capacity disc to replace.
My question is what is the maximum capacity disc and what type of drive this machine will support?

Note: I have the latest version of the bios installed and the machine is running Win XP pro.

    Concerning

    Bob

    Hello

I think that the laptop supports an IDE HDD controller that supports only 28-bit LBA as suggested by resident. This means that the controller does support max 128 GB IDE hard drives.

Since ATA - 6 (Ultra DMA mode 5 or Ultra-ATA100) the 48-bit LBA is supported but I n t think that Sam 2410-504 was equipped with the ATA-6 controller and therefore, it seems that 120 GB (128 GB HARD drive not available) disk HARD is the maximum that could be used.

    See you soon

  • Satellite M70-337 - replacement hard drive

    Hello

I need to replace the hard drive on my laptop. When the news is in place, it will be just a case of running the product recovery disc to get me and run again.

Also, what would be the maximum size drive, it will take, and what kind I need. I guess it is a SATA.

    Thank you.

I have the Satellite M70-159. It's the same as your. I can say for sure, you need driver SATA. I tested the 250 GB HARD drive on my laptop and it works perfectly. I'm 99.9% sure that you can use the HARD drive with 250 GB capacity more, but I think that 250 GB is enough.

Replacement is very easy and you can do it in 5 minutes. Simply remove the HARD drive down coverage and you will see how it works.
When the new drive is inside just put original recovery media in the optical disc drive and install WXP.
If you do not, you can install what you want. In case you want to use Microsoft installations CD all the necessary drivers, tools and utilities that you can download at Toshiba page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com for assistance
