  This error message is not known to me, but it seems that the application that has been installed on the recovery CD can not work properly.

  The webcam works fine once the system starts. But sometimes after the laptop is idle for a while or return to standby mode, the webcam does not work and a "Graphics rendering failed" error message appears when I try to turn on the webcam of the built-in Camera Assistant Software.

Most related threads did not mention the "Graphics rendering failed" error message.   I have a Satellite A660 and when not hooked to an external monitor or TV, the laptop screen is white and you can't use it.
  The only way I can use the laptop and being able to see the screen is if I connect the laptop to the TV via a HDMI cable and use it like that.
  The laptop is less then 6 months and is rarely taken at our office in our office.

  I also have this problem. You can temporarily cure by going to Device Manager and update the driver for the webcam (perhaps automatically, I always choose manual and then choose video Chicony USB 2.0 or USB webcam device). Don't forget to restart.
