Satellite M70 works corsair DDR2-667 of Pentecost?

Hello...

I have a Satellite M70-244. I find a big offer for two corsair DDR2 - 667 2 * 1 GB module. I won't know if they are working my laptop whit... I know the manual say works only whit DDR2-533 but I think 667 works too unless the laptop see the 667 as a 533 speed so no more...

If anyone can confirm this? Thank you.

Usually, you're right. If the chipset supports only 533 Mhz speed, then the 667 Mhz modules will run at 533 Mhz.
In my opinion, you could use a 667 Mhz modules, but the module should support these properties; DDR2 (PC2-4200) 200 - PIN SODIMM

In any case, I think you should test those modules first

Best regards

  • Satellite M70-350 - 633 Mhz DDR2 Ram work?

    I have a Satellite M70-350 and on that I have 512 Mo DDR2-533 (266 Mhz)
    I know I can go 2Gb maximum.

My question; If I put on my Lalonde DDR2-633, it will work or not?

I think that you could use, but the module will not work with full 667 Mhz, because the FSB is limited to 400 Mhz.

That is why it is foolish to buy a 667 Mhz module, if the laptop it will use only with 400 Mhz max.

  • Satellite U300 - 13 M - 4 GB DDR2 667 MHz RAM upgrade

    Hello dear experts,

At the moment, I have 2 x 1 GB Samsung installed DDR2 of memory 667 Mhz strips.

    I would like to extend the 4 GB RAM so I bought Kingston DDR2 667 MHz 2 x 2 GB KVR667D2S5 / 2G modules.

But the computer is not started.
It does not start with the single module or with two modules are installed.

If I install set of Samsung 1x1GB + Kingston 1x2Go, computer starts, but Widnows 7 32 bit see only 1 GB of RAM.

If I update the BIOS, will it work?
    Or any suggetions?

    Thanks a lot guys!

In my opinion it has nothing to do with the BIOS update. It's the compatibility issue.

As you already know that your laptop can be upgraded up to 4 GB and you use 2 x 2 GB modules.
2 GB compatible RAM has PA3513U-1M2G part number.

I checked the page Kingston and memory module with KTT667D2 part number / 2G is listed as compatible for your Satellite U300 - 13 M.

You can check it out here.

  • Satellite M70: Memory 533 MHz with 667 Mhz compatibality?

    Hello
I bought the new Satellite M70 (PSM70) 1.7 Ghz (400FSB) with the construction of memory DDR2 PC2 512 MB 533 MHz, if I DDR2 1 G 667 Mhz added to it? the Mhz will be a problem? and why the standard memory 533 Mhz and 400 Mhz processor speed?

    Kind regards

    Hello

In my view, you must use the Toshiba recommended of the memory modules.
AFAIK you can use DDR2 modules like these:

    DDR2 -400/533 256 MB (PA3389U - 1 M 25)
    512 MB DDR2-400/533 (PA3412U - 1 M 51)
    1 GB OF DDR2 400/533 (PA3411U-1M1G)

To my knowledge, the device supports:
    Intel Celeron M up to 1.7 GHZ 0.09u CPU, 1 M L2, at 400 MHz FSB
    Intel Pentium M CPU up to 2.26 GHZ 0.09u, 2 M L2, 533 MHz FSB

Therefore, it is possible to use 400 and 533 MHz memory speed.
You can also use the modules of Kingston. The performance is optimal.

  • My Satellite M70 no longer works, and caps button flashes

My problem was explained in the title. I just want to know if there is a problem or not. I work on Linux and windows XP, but the problem can happen in the BIOS.
    Thank you, Vivien.
If you need more information, please ask me :)
PS: it's the Satellite M70, and I changed the RAM

    Hello

I'm afraid that you have to be a little more specific than one that's a little wave... but now that you mention that you have changed the RAM maybe this is related to the question of Mr. is your RAM speed appropriate for your laptop? (Example to 400 or 533 MHz, regardless of the speed is indicated for your product). Because if your RAM is at the wrong speed, or at a higher speed (for example, 667 MHz, which happened with me) the computer can crash/blue screen/go crazy.

In fact, now I remember that my flash CAPS LOCK button too, because of the bad RAM or Aries do not correctly inserted. I recommend to check the speed of your RAM and make sure that you have inserted the right type, RAM speed and you have inserted it correctly

    I hope this helps.

  • Satellite L30 and 2x1GB PC2 - 5300 DDR2 667 compatibility

I've seen a few posts here on the incompatibility of the L30 and have 2x1GB PC2 - 5300 DDR2 667 modules installed. Apart from the demotion to 2x1GB PC2-4200 modules, nobody put in point a reason why this problem occurs.

My Satellite L30-00100E comes preinstalled with 2x256MB DDR2 533 PC2-4200. My current BIOS is v2.10 latest (available on the website).

I have a couple of spare 1 GB 667 modules of work (which has been tested as working). I put them in my L30 and tried a few tests using MemTest86. Essentially, these tests pass:

1x1GB (any module in any accommodation)
1x1GB + 1x256MB (any module in any accommodation)

What does work is 2 x 1 GB! It will fail on the random test (test #7), and it always fails on what appears to be a random address memory under the address range of 1024 MB. I have yet to see a mistake over 1024 MB and this happens no matter what order the modules are installed in the slots. What I see is something like this:

Address: 942.6 (this changes - but still less than 1 024 MB)
    Writing: 0x2cd48206 (this change)
Read: 0x2cd48286 (this change - but the 2nd to the last value was released by 0x80)
    Diff: 0 x 00000080 (it's always the same)

The Diff value is always the same and makes me think that it is a little be overthrown so that it should not be.

Memory 667 MHz is now able to run at 533 MHz, the memory is good, and some combinations work 667, so I suspect that it is a BIOS problem. Maybe it's just get confused by the memory timings?

    What can I/we/Toshiba?

BTW - I put t really want to buy 533 MHz RAM, especially now that 667 is cheaper. So, for now, I'm stuck at 1x1GB + 1x256MB RAM... ie a 667 with a 533 mix!

    Hello

This is not the problem of BIOS!
I also read several discussions on the problem of memory upgrade on L30 and all people have the same problem; the Crucial modules are not compatible or do not work!

I have a L30 at home and I could upgrade the L30 with a 1 024 MB module. It was one of Kingston.

As you say of the L30 is FSB 533 MHz it is therefore absurd to use the 667 MHz module. If the 667 Mhz modules are better markets than 533 Mhz modules, then I suppose that the quality of these modules is not the best.

In general, the quality and performance of the modules without name is bad and I do not recommend the use of these modules for different reasons.

Use the recommended Toshiba modules and good luck!

  • Satellite A100-635: is it possible to use the DDR2-667 RAM

I have a portable satellite a100-635 with 1024 MB of RAM DDR2-533. Is it possible to use the DDR2-667 RAM modules instead of 533 in this model? Thank you.

P.S. I doubt because all portable satellite I've seen so far have been equipped with 533 modules by default. Still the chipset supports officially the DDR2-667 (Intel 945GM) modules.

    Hello

I'm not 100% sure, but as the site says that it won't work, I think you can trust them, and it does not work.
But if you want to try it, please post the result here.

  • Re: Can Satellite A100-499 - I use Kingston HyperX DDR2-667 RAM?

    Hello.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A100-499 with chipset Intel 945 PM and with 1 GB of RAM at 533 Mhz (this is the memory that came by default when it was purchased). I want to upgrade the memory to 4 GB 667 MHz and I saw two Kingston hyperx 2 GB DDR2 - 667 PC2 - 5300 CL4 (KHX5300S2LLK2 / 4G).

I ' w concerned about the compatibility of this memory with my laptop. Memory that is shown in my laptop (KT667D2 / 2G) in the site web of Toshiba is also kingston and technical specifications are similar, but time lag case which I've not been able to verify. I'm looking for the forum and it seems that Toshiba laptops are very delicate with the memory.

Did someone knows or has had experience with this combination? I don't want to spend the money to have to sell it later.

    Hello

Theoretically, you can also use the Kingston HyperX modules. They are very similar to the normal Kingston modules, but they are a little faster. Certain times are may be lower, but this should t be a problem because it will be set automatically from the BIOS.

A good friend of me always is the HyperX modules for its notebooks and there has never been a problem.
In the worst cases the modules don't work, that you can bring it back to the computer store and ask Kingston normal modules.

  • Satellite M70 does not work properly with external monitors

    Hello

My Satellite M70 has problems with a couple of monitors and projectors.

When I connect to another manufacturer (model AL1721) monitor, the screen remains black, if I connect to another monitor manufacturers (model AL1716) everything works fine.
If I connect a projector there also is a black screen.

At first everything worked fine, I had a monitor AL1721 who worked, and 1 day it no longer works. I reinstalled windows, updated video card drivers, but it still does not work.
    anyone an idea why?

    Hello

How do you connect the monitors and the projector? with an analog or a digital (with adapter) cable to the screen?

Another question: when you connect your AL1721/Beamer and turn on the machine, you can see the Toshiba logo or something else. Is the error just that occur in windows or the "DOS" screen, too?

BTW. have you reinstalled with recovery or separated from an original disc of Microsoft windows and the drivers you have installed?

Currently I have reformatted my M70 to WinXp Pro Sp2, downloaded all the related TOSHIBA drivers and associated programs [IE. However, the CONTROL BUTTON keys don't work, worked fine with XP Home edition and Win Media but when I called Toshiba support they could not help me because I had upgraded to Xp Pro. Hello

First of all, you should check your serial number because on the Toshiba driver page, you will find drivers for Satellite M70 PSM70 and PSM71.
Secondly, it is very important that you need to install drivers in the correct order.
On the Toshiba driver page, you will find the installation instructions.

I also found a driver controls and controls on the page of the driver.
I guess you have to install both applications. But if you follow the instructions everything works correctly.

  • Satellite M70 - 354 - no sound after having some work done.

I got a Satellite M70 354 without software. I downloaded the drivers from Toshiba site tried to install XP, but when I came to SoundDrivers I found different situations.

As a first step, the President-symbol was visible and I heard the wave when you start and shut down Windows. After doing some work, the symbol was always there, but no sound was to be heard. I think it has to do with the different drivers installation sequence.

Can anyone provide a solution such as:
    (1) LANDriver
    (2) sound
    (3) display

    Thank you!

    Hey mate,

Have you already checked for yellow exclamation marks Device Manager? You must make sure that the sound card is listed there without yellow exclamation point. Check it!

I put t know but maybe that only the sound is muted? You can enable or disable using FN + ESC.

Finally, and especially in what concerns the order of installation you can find the document on the Toshiba page installation instructions. There, you can check the correct installation for your laptop and XP order.

  • Is - Windows 7 works with Satellite M70 129

    Hi all

    How are you guys?
wanted to ask you if Windows 7 works with Satellite M70-129 or not?
Toshiba is going to support or not with drivers and other things?

    Thanks in advance

This is a user to use the forum, so if you wait for an official statement from Toshiba then you can wait until you get gray hair
If you want to hear my opinion then this is

Windows 7 is very similar / same as MS Vista OS. It supports only a few additional features and options.

In the European Toshiba page driver I found the Vista drivers for this laptop M70 series and I guess these drivers could be used on Windows 7 too.

  • Satellite M70: Battery no longer works

My brand-new satellite M70 battery no longer works. I haven't used the phone for about a week and when I tried to start it (on drums), he did nothing. The battery was still charged (63%) I need to connect the power adapter to make it work.

During this time the battery LED is still orange. Battery is not charging, the battery remains at 63%. I tried to remove the battery for a while and put it in, but that does not change...

How can I solve this problem?

    Hello

Maybe the battery has a malfunction. It would be very interesting to know if this problem occurs after the replacement of the battery.
According to your assignment the guarantee must be valid, that the battery replacement should be done for free.
I recommend to contact Toshiba service partner in your country and seek help guys.
