Satellite P10 874, strange problem

Ok
Hi everyone I don't no how to start my problem is a problem and a story at the same time, I'll tell you one thing will help in the history that I live in Egypt, but I bought my laptop in Dubai
I worked very p10 will during the first week but suddenly the usb ports stopped working all at once
I went to Egypt to toshiba and I gave them the p10 but couldnot fix so they told me that I have to change the motherboard, I said okay, but they said that you are on the international interest of the motheboard is free but you must pay the tariffs on $300 to 500 and that's a lot of money
so I sent the laptop with my brother to the Kuwait for toshiba it (he was there) they set the laptop and I have not paid anything
but when I got the notebook back I found that missing something missing wireless 802nd motherboard they bring is not the same as the dose of a new not a WiFi connection
I am really upset, I look on the net for toshiba service customer to tell them, but I have found no email or something which would do anything if he has Aproblem with one of the toshiba branches who must go and say
I know wana
and there is another thing that would be someone knows the detailed characteristics of his computer

Hi, the Toshiba Page for the Middle East is->

http://Gulf.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/

Then click on 'Information and ideas' look 'inside Toshiba. " You will find 'Contact Toshiba'.

I think it is the best way to apply directly to them (or distributor).

  • Card wireless, not seen on Satellite P10 - 874

    Hello
I have a Satellite SP10-874 (bought in Russia). I have problems with my wireless adapter windows just don't see it. No help, I found the drivers. I read similar messages on this forum, and in most cases, the problem was that the wireless card was just built into the laptop. But I'm 99% sure that mine has, as it seemed to work before. So if anyone can help, I would be very grateful. Thank you!!

    Hello

I found information that the Satellite P10 874 has no wireless card. If the wireless card is onboard n this case, the card is listed and each unit with wireless card has a label of WLAN card in the lower corner.

You can also check if you open the Wi - Fi coverage in the lower corner of the laptop. This cover is fixed with four screws.

  • Satellite P10 874: update BIOS wrong changes the serial number?

    Hello

I have Satellite P10 874, my model number has erased the background after years of use.
I recently did an update of the Bios of the Web from Toshiba site and realized more late it was for the SP10E models.

Well my system did not fall down. (Part no) model number change if you update with a version of Bios, not intended to be your system?

My system is still under warranty, but the new model series/number combo is shown as invalid global law database. My USB ports don't work anymore after that it showed a message of power surge.

I need to go to the customer Service. Is there a way to retrieve my originial model no and not?

Any help will be much appreciated.

    Concerning
    lejoe

A 'bad' Biosupdate does or does not replace the modelnumber of your machine. So you don t have to worry when you give the machine to a service centre, they have the ability to retrieve your serial number with their system and understand the modelnumber of your machine.

With regard to your USB ports: send the machine to your local concern for service-center and Don t on the modelnumber stuff. Your machine is still under warranty and since they will change about your pcb, your worries on the bad bios system is useless.

Furthermore, I can't imagine that you seriously a bad bios Flash, since the machine during the biosupdate ususally scream if you try to Flash a bios wrong on it.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite Pro C850 - strange problem with LAN connection

    Hello world

I just signed up on this forum because I hope you guys can help me with a really strange problem.

    I recently bought a Satellite Pro C850-1MX
It came with Win8, but given that I don't really like Win8, I bought an additional Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) license and installed on the laptop.

The problem I describe, also arrived on 8 to win, which makes it even more strange.

As soon as I connect a cable to the RJ-45 port, Windows tells me, that the LAN connection is not connected.
As soon as I unplug the cable, Windows starts looking for a network and actually found one!

So, the only way to connect to my LAN cable is... I have activate the LAN connection, wait that it detects a network (without the cable connected!) and meanwhile to connect the cable to the network port.
Now... If I disconnect the cable once again, Windows still shows its connected.

I must say, that I am a Director of professional network for more than 10 years now, so I should know my systems, but this never happened to me before. Event log shows nothing, re-installing drivers did nothing either. IM quite confused here and I hope you guys can help me.

Thanks for reading, and let me know if you need any additional info!

    Greetings from the Germany,
    Sandro

    Hello Sandro,

To be honest I confused m.

I would try to start talking about the drivers installed, since you changed the system for Win 7.
All the network devices, such as card WLan and LAN card are properly recognized in Device Manager?

As I m not wrong not the laptop was equipped with a network card Realtek-8111F (1000BASE-T/100Base-TX/10Base-T) and WLan RTL8723AE Realtek b/g/n card.
If both should appear in the device properly Manager if you have installed the drivers correctly.

    2nd question:
    You said:
    > As soon as I unplug the cable, Windows starts looking for a network and actually found one!
Are you sure that you speak of LAN and WLAN?
For me it made no further since. If the network cable is unplugged, the notebook would connect to the WLan where WiFi is enabled.

  • Satellite P10-304: the problem writing and erasing CD - RW discs

Some need help pls. I own a Toshiba satellite P10-304 with a combo player SD-R2412 installed. When I try to burn a new CD - RW, it does ok, but wouldn't allow no other written on the same CD in another session. The written CD - RW is then recognized as a CD-ROM. In addition, it is not possible to erase the cd - rw usinig this player. When I take the cd written for my laptop office of deletion, as it's done with success and my toshiba can then burn again. Any ideas on what to do?

Additional information: laptop computer came bundled with "drag n dro cd" but I had to install Roxio and even tried the cd writing software provided with windows XP are done everything to nothing. I checked the 'advanced system info-error log' and the report there is 'the device, \Device\CdRom0, has a bad block'; I don't know what that means.

    Cheers.

    Nthunderbolt

    Hello

In my opinion, it's probably caused by software. In my opinion, you should remove all burning software and verify all burning functions with windows option. After deleting some software, it can happen that, in the registry editor it is a lot of waste that will not be removed completely.

In any case, delete all the burning software, and you can also try to remove the device from Device Manager DVD. Restart the laptop and DVD should be detected and installed correctly. Try using the option of engraving of Windows and if there is still problem writing once again please.

  • Cannot run recovery on Satellite P10 874 CD

    Hello
Given that I had a lot of bugs and hang up, I gave my machine SATELLITE SP10-874 to a friend to load the recovery CD for me, he asked instead the NEW WINDOWS XP PRO, so that my machine with WINDOWS HOME EDITION venus. Now I am unable to run the recovery cd,
Pls advice me how I bring it back to factory setting by loading Homexp.

    your response is much appreciated

    THX
    Bala

    What do you mean exactly?
You are not able to boot from the recovery CD or what?

To define the notebook back to factory setting you must simply boot from the recovery CD and follow the instructions on the screen.

To boo from the CD, you must press the C key immediately after switching on the laptop. Alternatively, you can press the F12 key. Then a start menu should appear and then you may choose the CD/DVD drive as the boot source.

Until you do this, the recovery CD must be inserted.

  • Satellite P10: Discharge battery problem

Hi all. I just bought a P10 and I have a problem with the battery discharges while remaining on the current after being fully charged.

Basically when the battery discharge the machine stops and cannot be restarted successfully until about 1/2 hour of charging.

Surely if the machine is on the battery supply should be go to the opereation of the machine? Virtually all other laptops are not disturbed by the battery then on the sector.

Is there a utility that disables this problem because there is nothing in the bios that is available to select. (BTW, I HAVE ISNTALLED LATEST VERSION OF THE BIOS).
I also blew the hole thing with compressed air just in case there was a problem of overheating.

    Am Running XP Pro 512 MB DDR333Mhz 30Gig HDD 2.6 GHz P4

All this makes me very frustrated and am really starting to regret to have bought the laptop.
I've been a professional for 10 years now and have never experienced such a problem.

Any help, advice, links or the fixes would be greatly appreciated so thank you very much in advance.

    Hello

    It s very strange.
As far as I know the Toshiba power saver control power and cooling procedures.
If the AC adapter is plugged in, the energy saver uses a profile of full power.
If the laptop works with battery energy saver must use another profile with different parameters. You should check what profile is used and the settings for this profile.
Check the CPU and cooling module parameters.

But if this doesn't help then it could be something wrong with the hardware. But it's not easy to say what the problem is. In this case, you must contact the after-sales Service of Toshiba partner. It can start diagnostic tests.

  • Satellite A210-14 - strange problem with new WLAN adapter Intel 4965agn mm1

The initially installed atheros wireless network adapter is just b/g and too slow for my network/needs

    So I bought a one n-project: mm1 4965agn (intel) (he got a toshiba p/n and s/n too)

I replaced the atheros one and plugged the Intel - booted and installed the drivers - restart-> adaper works very well-> reboot - nb stops at the toshiba BIOS screen without loading all the windows. I can't even to the BIOS-> removed Intel wlan adapt nb boots and as usual.

Please let me know what I need to do to make things work

    Hi chubbyhamster,

To me, it sounds like this map isn't WLAN compatible with your laptop. I guess that all wireless network adapters are compatible with all laptops (assignment of pins e. g.).

As far as I know use fast N project you need 3 antennas. I think Satellite A210-14 has just two antennas because only WIFI b/g card built in. This means that you can upgrade your laptop to the project speed N t.

Alternative you can use the LAN card or a USB key which takes in charge the project N, but in my view, WIFI b/g standard should be fast enough

  • Re: Satellite A505-S6040 - strange problem after installation of the NVIDIA driver

Hello, first of all sorry for my bad English, but ill try to explain myself as best I can.

    I have a Toshiba A505-S6040

    I like 2 months

My problem is that when I start the laptop and go to the desktop theres a certain point that stop loading... and it gets freeze here until I have to reset manually... (I can go trough well safe mode).

I don't know if that has soemthing to do with him... but I downloaded and install a new driver from nvidia website. After trying several days, I noticed that there were a few problems, and so I changed it again drivers from the Toshiba web page.

Well 2 days this is well... I might do normally...

OK, I decided to use the recovery tool fromToshiba, but the same problem happened while isntallin drivers se... I don't know if it was coincidence, but just after it install drivers from nividia it just stop working again... it froze again... and now it won't let me start with an account , because it gets has frozen afe mode, only I can access my laptop...

one thing I tried was unisitallin the drivers nvidia in SafeMode... and try to start the laptop... it worked... or at leat is not trapped, but since I made the recovery of Toshiba it won't let me start the session.

I have really no idea what could it be... the grpahic card?

    Thank you.

    Hello

    > I don't know if that has soemthing to do with him... but I downloaded and install a new driver from nvidia website. After trying several days, I noticed there were a few problems and so I
    > changed drivers again

It looks like a card driver from nvidia.com graphci causes freezing. In addition, it is not recommended to only use not pre-tested by Toshiba driver. Toshiba drivers are modified to support protection against overheating. So, use only the drivers of Toshiba driver page.

  • Satellite P10 infrared device question

    I have the following question:
I'm trying to connect a mobile phone via an infrared connection and use it as a modem GPRS under Windows XP Home SP2 on a Satellite P10 874. When the phone is in range, the laptop detects via the infrared port and I can upload files to the phone.

In order to use it as a modem, I need to install a modem with the phone driver. But there is no infrared COM serial port in the list of ports (like the P10 has no serial port COM, there are not), so I can't create a new modem.

Is it possible somehow to create a standart (for Windows) com port via the infrared port of the P10 (I think it's the way work the drivers of some infrared USB cards - create a virtual com port) so that I can create a modem for the mobile phone.

    Hi, Simeon,.

I sometimes use my mobile phone as a modem, but I use it via Bluetooth. In my opinion, is that infrared is good for data transfer but is not fast enough for the Internet (speed limit of 4 Mbps) connection. Data transfer rate is too low and the connection can be interrupted. As far as I know that it is not possible to choose any COM port in your case.

For small data transfer with the mobile phone's infrared adequate, but for the internet connection where you transfer speed to build a page it will be not enough quickly.

My suggestion to you: pick up some information about Bluetooth technology and it will be ideal for you. I use my Bluetooth phone and it works perfectly. Setup was very easy.

If you make a decision to make connection through Bluetooth and there may be a few problems I can help you.

    Good day.

  • Satellite P10 turn suddenly

    Hello

    I have the satellite P10
    Im having problems.
I reformatted about a month ago, and since then, his performance is even more strange. One morning, I turned on and then as windows was loading, all images on the screen pixeld and started jumping up and down the screen... almost like matrix effect. Windows loaded, but my office etc. still had this majorly pixeld watched and kept jumping.

I managed to restart the pc in safe mode - and he has not had the same problem since then, however, it shuts down completely I work almost everyday now - or the second day.

I reformatted... installed lastest drivers, constantly updated to windows and have updated graphics cards etc.
He continues to cut all of a sudden - and feels as if it detects overheating a bit as well.

    SOS. What should I do?

    Katy

    Hello

Maybe the display problem had occurred because of the corrupted display driver.
However another question looks like overheating.
You can try to use the vacuum cleaner to clean the cooling modules.
It is a simpler procedure to clarify the fans.
