  Check the voltage of the AC adapter, if his less than 19volts gift, it could be defective.

  First that you check if your laptop has been equipped by the wireless network adapter.
  If this isn't the case, then you need to update.
  The easiest way would be a use of the WLan USB key.

  Check your WLan router level. There are different WiFi standards such as 802.11 A, B, G and N
  If your WLan router supports 802.11 B and G, then you should buy and stick that would support both standards too!

  Then configure the WiFi network (especially it s described in the installation instructions provided with WLan stick) and the WLan router.

  I have Satellite P10 874, my model number has erased the background after years of use.
  I recently did an update of the Bios of the Web from Toshiba site and realized more late it was for the SP10E models.

  Well my system did not fall down. (Part no) model number change if you update with a version of Bios, not intended to be your system?

  My system is still under warranty, but the new model series/number combo is shown as invalid global law database. My USB ports don't work anymore after that it showed a message of power surge.

  I need to go to the customer Service. Is there a way to retrieve my originial model no and not?

  A 'bad' Biosupdate does or does not replace the modelnumber of your machine. So you don t have to worry when you give the machine to a service centre, they have the ability to retrieve your serial number with their system and understand the modelnumber of your machine.

  With regard to your USB ports: send the machine to your local concern for service-center and Don t on the modelnumber stuff. Your machine is still under warranty and since they will change about your pcb, your worries on the bad bios system is useless.

  Furthermore, I can't imagine that you seriously a bad bios Flash, since the machine during the biosupdate ususally scream if you try to Flash a bios wrong on it.

  1. start > all programs > Atheros > ACU > Atheros Client Utility
  2 2. Select the "Profile management" tab click on "new".
  3. put good profile name and network name
  4. check the Security tab and set the password if your network is encrypted
  5. check also if the windows wireless configuration disabled
  (It MUST BE DISABLED if you use a client for a wireless connection)

  You can find this option in the properties of the wireless network connection in wireless networks.

  If you search these forums, you will find that a LOT of people get these phone calls.

  This unit worked ok.

  Perhaps my advice might help you;
  Try this:

  -Remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter
  -wait on ~ 20-30 min
  -assemble the two parts (battery & AC)
  -try to boot the machine

  If this will not help then it s a serious issue and the local ASP is your last resort.

  All BIOS for all Toshiba units, you can download from the Toshiba site:
  http://www.toshiba-tro.de/subpage/BIOS.html

  But you can not downgrade the BIOS for example: since version 1.2 to 1.1
  This is only possible by Toshiba ASP.
  In this case, if you want to downgrade the BIOS you should contact the service partner.

  This message is recommended to use the Toshiba power saver, but you can try to use the power of Microsoft options.   Try to check in the Manager of tasks of all running processes. You can try to end some of them manually and retest the hibernation mode. I hope that support for hibernation is turned on electricity from the day before.

  Hi Ive got a Satellite P100-434 and Ive had for more than a year.

  Unfortunately today I couldn't get started.

  The power led lights up, the HARD drive makes light very briefly.
  The display lights. If she does not even there to boot in the bios.

  Unless you bought the extended warranty, I don't think you have a lot of luck. My suggestion is to return to the place of purchase, if you still have warranty.

  However, try to remove the battery for 1 minute and then replace the battery again. Try it turn on.

  Also try with the power cable plugged in power and remove the battery.

  If all else fails, then you have a very expensive paper weight.

  I mean your battery is 4 years old and it wouldn't be nothing unusual if your battery does not work as it should.
  My battery is about 6 years old and 3 years may not be loaded correctly.
