Satellite P100-113 not the installer for the networking ethernet

The phone was bought in England, but is used in the USA, model PSPA3E. It runs Windows XP Home Edition sp2. We have Internet high speed brought to our House and I am trying to get the laptop connected to the Internet via an ethernet connection. There is an ethernet port on the back of the laptop, but when I plug the ethernet cable it's a green light (right) and a yellow light (left). When I go into "Device Manager" are 2 network cards that are displayed (a 1394 network adapter and an Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection). I don't want to use the wireless (which works), I want to use the ethernet. Under "Other devices", there is a yellow question mark and a yellow exclamation mark next to 'Ethernet controller'.

1. is there an Ethernet on this laptop? I can't under 'Network adapters' then perhaps it is on the motherboard?

2. I went to the web site of Toshiba UK support and downloaded latest drivers from the LAN 2. I just need to install the most recent a (lan - 20081201075406.zip)?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.
Ted

Hello!

1. Yes, the laptop has a LAN port. It is on the motherboard. With this port, you can connect to a router or internet network.

2. you should only download and install the new driver and Yes, the lan - 20081201075406.zip file is good.

Good bye

    Hello

The Intel graphics card is simply not powerful enough to handle the latest PC games.
You think so, why all the hardcore gamer don t buy computers laptops, but during the CPU clock and buy new graphics for PC s Office cards?

The laptop is not comparable with the desktop PC. It's just different technology according to the limitations of hardware upgrade on your laptop, you can spend only the HARD drive and RAM.
You cannot add also all other ports for laptop. It is not possible :(

    Hi guys!

Yesterday I stumbled accidentally updating BIOS for my satellite A350D-113 and computer interference in the process. Now, I've got is this common black screen, fan turns and CD-rom checked.
I know there are discussions on this issue, but all of these senses are very different. Can someone help me with step by step "what to do"?
I did not usb floppy, but I suppose a common CD - R should be fine replacement.

    I'm desperate rly.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Buddy,

If the BIOS update failed, you can do anything. You need professional help of an authorized service provider. Technicians can try to reflash the ROM module

  • Satellite P100-473 - suddenly the screen turns black

    Hello

Since a few days, I have a problem with my Satellite P100-473 (with Vista Home installed recently + teamspeak only) after you have installed the latest version of Nero (maybe a detail)
and do not know how, all of a sudden the screen went black.
I so reboot and still black but the laptop properly started, the screen is activated (light up/down).
I'm trying not to switch the display on an external monitor (VGA and DVI) no signal.
I remove the battery for a few minutes.

After a lot of irritation I gave it a week, I am again yesterday and after two tests display return with an error (such as a debug message), I forgot to note due to the excitement... ten minutes later same problem again:'(.)
Yesterday before restarting the screen, I wait to start completely > type my password > sound > wait a minute > and type ESC / enter key at random.

Can you please help me to find the source of this problem and maybe the solution to solve?

Thank you very much for your future assistance, I hope you understand my pathetic English
    Best regards

    Hello

Wait. You said you use external LCD and an external LCD related to this laptop.
Do you use an external monitor Samsung, and maybe have you installed MagicTune software on your laptop?
    Please check this box.

As far as I know software Samsung MagicTune can permanently disable the integrated computer Toshiba LCD display screen. Why?
Because the MagicTune software is designed for use with desktop computers that do not have a built-in LCD screen.
If your integrated LCD display has been disabled by the MagicTune software, you will need to make an arrangement for repair with a Toshiba authorized Service partner.

But I hope that you have not installed this software.

It says on the site Web of Toshiba, the P100 is not HD Audio and HD video and it also States that it does not include the numeric keypad. Is - this ture? I highly appreciate your replys
    Thank you
    Machanic

    Hello

    > Is the processor good on this machine, I mean like a Core 2 Duo

The CPU is not better than Core 2 Due because he s successor to core Duo.
Intel Core Duo processor T2400 1.83 GHz Yonah works on this laptop.
You can check the detailed specifications of this CPU Intel page.

In addition the unit supports audio chip type high-definition Intel Conexant CX20551-22.
I put t know what you mean by HD video.
Do you mean the HD player? The portable player is a simple DVD Super Multi drive (+/-R Double Layer) and it does not play any DVD HD

You can also check this Toshiba page for more details:

I've done several times using Nero and still managed

  • Satellite L450D-113 - upgrading the processor

    Hello
I have a Satellite L450D-113 and looking to upgrade the processor to something more powerful, someone has suggestions.
    Harry

    Hey Buddy,

Unfortunately, these CPU updates is not supported. The single CPU that has been pretested and is supported is preinstalled. So there is no list of processors supported and to check this article:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/FAQ35006D000RR01.htm

By the way: If improve you it further, you lose the warranty and everything happens on your own risk.

  • Cannot be accessed by Satellite P100-347 after the password of BIOS setting

My friend has recently created a startup password using the numeric keypad and now I can't access my satellite P100-347 beyond startup even if am to enter the correct password!

Is there anyway around this problem?

    Hello

    Bad sorry :(

Unfortunately, you must contact the ASP in your country for this problem.
Technicians have first remove this BIOS password.
In addition, I think that to avoid this problem, the BIOS must be updated to version 2.40 or higher and also the Toshiba utility must be updated to version 1.8.14.2 or higher.

    Good luck

  • Satellite P100 - cannot get the CD/DVD writer to work under WXP Pro

    Hello

I recently updated my Satellite P100 - 188 (PSPA3E) to run Windows XP Pro SP2.

I can't have the CD/DVD writer to work well. I looked on the downloads page, but there seems to be nothing. It reads the CD/dvd, but allow me to write to them. If I put a blank CD in nothing happens.

Someone has ideas how to get this working again?

    Thanks in advance...

    Hi Matt

Maybe you should install like Nero burning software. Original Toshiba image (WXP MCE) it was an engraving Sonic RecordNow software pre-installed.

  • Satellite P100: After updating the BIOS 3.8 I can't access MCE pressing enter

    Hello!

I was able to enter XP MCE by pressing the Enter key when the Welcome screen. Now I cannot and must click on the photo of the small image. Is it because of 3.8 BIOS that I put in place recently or not? Can I do this option still works? Thank you very much.

    Hello

I put t know if you can restore this option but you should access the BIOS and try to define again the default settings t.
Don t forget to save the settings if you exit BIOS ;)

But I really don't understand why you have updated the BIOS. If the laptop is running without any problems a BIOS update is not necessary!
Therefore, never change a system up and running, you know? ;)

Besides as I know the P100 were not delivered with Microsoft XP MCE but with XP Home and Express Media Player or Vista

  • Satellite L30-113: is the temperature of my CPU too high?

    Hi all

I recently updated my BIOS to the latest version available on the Web from Toshiba website.
    I have a Satellite L30-113 (33rd PSL).
I don't know if I will be paranoid, but maybe my fans are a little warmer now - I mean when I touch the grid where air is blown, I think that it is hotter than before.

I installed Speedfan and it shows me that the HD0 - 34 degrees Celsius, ACPI temperature is 74 degrees celsius and Core 0-70 degrees celsius (this one is different between 50 and 70).

Please tell me these specifications are normal or now it is overheating because of the upgrade of the BIOS?

    Thank you.

I also found this site with my processor specifications - http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SL9KV. It says that the operating temperature is 100 degrees celsius. This means that everything is ok?
