Satellite P100-160 - how to connect the camcorder?

Hi all!

Can anyone can advise, try to connect the Sony camcorder with 4 pin i.link, but can't seem to connect the two devices.

I have AC power on the camera, tried to use the other movie maker, adobe, etc. no joy.
is thinking why is this?
Thank you

Hello!

As Garrett Satellite P100 supports the firewire port.

Normally, the port is always on and you need an application that does not recognize your camcorder correctly. You can then copy the videos on your laptop.

Good bye

Help! My new laptop Toshiba refuses to connect to my router 3Com (f/w 2.06T13) model 3cWDR100A on WPA - PSK. The router only supports TKIP (no AES).

The laptop, a Satellite P100-160 is under Vista Home Premium with the latest Intel 3945 11.5.0.32 driver and I tried the version of the site Web of Toshiba version mentioned in other threads (and a few other versions also).

Either way, I don't like latest driver hit with content identical binary files and different date stamps or running of the anonymous installers that have not been digitally signed.

The problem is that non-encrypted, or WEP works perfectly, but WPA - PSK is not. It fails with a diagnostic message 'timeout for secondary keys. The thing will be very occasionally connect to the network without a timeout (before I tried to improve things with the last pilot about 1 in 20 attempts after a reboot, now it comes rather from 1 to 100). If I can be sure that the password is correct. When it connects everything is fine and stable with excellent signal until the first suspended and then the connection is lost. It's more than a little irritating.

I see several topics of doom similar networks to Vista support groups. They all seem to hinge around WPA - PSK TKIP and WiFi Intel chipset x 945 in combination with certain models of router. Please can anyone help solve this mess?

I've seen other threads of networking in Vista by users with this specific Intel chipset and my router model having exactly the same problem and so far nobody has found a solution. I checked the basics of knowledge (MS & 3Com) and tried a few plausible fixes, but nothing helped. I'm out of ideas.

It seems a little absurd to demote network security to make the latest PC works correctly. Dumping Vista (however tempting) is not an option.

Thanks for any suggestions or diagnostics.

    Kind regards
    Martin Brown

    Hello Martin

As you can see this is not Toshiba specific stuff and if there is no 'global solution' I don't really know what Toshiba should do about it. As you all know it should support hardware and software (driver), but if not I don't really see a solution for this.
Who should offer a solution? Toshiba or Intel?  :|

    Hello

Well, I think that without a 3rd PCMCIA card you won't be able to connect the camcorder to Equium L20.
To my knowledge this unit supports only an output s-video and there aren t any taken to receive signals from the camera :(

    Hello

The Intel graphics card is simply not powerful enough to handle the latest PC games.
You think so, why all the hardcore gamer don t buy computers laptops, but during the CPU clock and buy new graphics for PC s Office cards?

The laptop is not comparable with the desktop PC. It's just different technology according to the limitations of hardware upgrade on your laptop, you can spend only the HARD drive and RAM.
You cannot add also all other ports for laptop. It is not possible :(

  • Re: How to connect the camcorder to my Satellite L300-1AD?

    Hello world

I hope there, can someone help me - my problem is driving me crazy!

I have a laptop Satellite L300 1AD (?) and I'm trying to connect my camcorder so that I can look at and edit my holiday videos. Apparently, I can't use a USB cable and need a cable "I have the link" or a firewire cable. However, I can't find where to plug them into the PC. Also, there are so many different variations 'PIN '.

I am able to do it at all? I know I'm female, but I consider myself as usually quite good at that sort of thing. If you need more info please let me know.

Please help - I'm desperate? I want to see the koalas and kangaroos in Oz!

    Thank you in anticipation

    Hello

Your laptop model is unknown to me but if your laptop doesn't have firewire (i-LINK) port, you must use the expresscard solution.
It's something like shown on the maps http://www.synchrotech.com/products-expc/expresscard-firewire_00.html

Talk to your local dealer. Explain exactly what you want to do and I hope he can help you.

  • How to connect the camcorder to Satellite U500-1EZ

What is the best way to capture HD to Satellite U500-1EZ camcorder videos?
Is the HDMI port for output only?

    Thank you!

    Hello

The laptop supports the VGA and HDMI output port.
These ports name says it all; It s output port. It sends signals and cannot receive signals.

AFAIK there is no plug-in software component video interface.

If you want to move only the videos from the camcorder to laptop, I recommend the USB ports. I guess that the camcorder supports firewire port in such case you could use an adapter of the firewire over USB that allows to move the files to the HARD drive.

  • Satellite P100-160: How do I get an audio driver for XP

Can someone tell me how to get a sound driver for the P100-160.

I have a bought a machine expect to be able to use it for my work, as Vista does not support applications that I use I have to install XP. Then I find that Toshiba seem to have selected the material that is not compatible with the drivers for XP and XP. The only ones that seem to work (after wasting much time on trial and error and forcing drivers) work very well for the session (showing that it is technically possible) but stop working after a reboot.

Someone at - it an idea how to solve this problem? (No, I do not accept the answer 'buy a XP machine', people write drivers from scratch for Linux by reverse engineering, I'm sure that the producers of the sound card can make one for XP)

    Hi guys

Please check section P Satellite and you will find useful topics how to install and configure Windows XP Home on Satellite P100. Some users have reported on the installation of Windows XP Home edition successfully.

BTW: don't wait for the drivers of Toshiba. It may take some time. Of course, any upgrade support is not finished and, as you know, the upgrade is more important than the downgrade.

  • Satellite P100 - 160 PSPAAE: Question on the driver installation instructions

    Hello.

I recently bought a P100-160 model PSPAAE with Vista pre-installed. Like many others, I had no choice with the OS and my experience so far has left me wanting to go back to XP.

I found the page of appropriate support for the drivers (I guess I have to use the drivers for the PSPAA) and read the instruction sheet that comes with them. There are some questions I want answered before I start on this particular cliff.

The guidelines mention the SD card Format utility, but I see no mention of one in the list of drivers. It is included in one of the other drivers or is it not found elsewhere?

Why the Sun Java Runtime Environment is necessary?

I guess if my machine has no Bluetooth or Infra-red that I didn't need to load the drivers.

Thanks in advance if anyone is able to help.

    Kind regards

    John

Hi John, I recently went through the same process and after a few attempts, settled on the following as a reasonable XP installation (I don't need all that other stuff):

    Satellite Pro P100 (PSPAEA)

Chipset: Mobile Intel (r) 945 PM Express Chipset
    Memory controller: 82945 PM
    I/o Controller: Intel (r) 82801GBM i/o controller hub (ICH7M)

    What I installed...

    03 - display Driver
    04 chipset Driver
    05 - network - upgrade Ethernet driver
    06 - network wireless driver
    09 - sound Driver
10 - driver CardBus controller with UltraMedia
    12 - modem Driver
13 - modem region Select utility
    14 Bluetooth Stack
    15 - Bluetooth monitor
    17 Hotkey Utility
    21 - SD Secure Module
22 - SD memory card format
    28. DVD-RAM driver software
    33 user manual
TOSHIBA fingerprint digital-software (from Vista drivers)
    TOSHIBA-disk-Creater (from Vista drivers)

    What I do not installed...

01 - Microsoft Updates (I used Windows Update to do this)
    02. Sun Java Runtime Environment
    07. customer Intel utility
    08 Atheros Client Utility
    11 - touch pad Driver
    16 - C - infrared driver
    18 YPP/power button Utility
    19 utilities
    20 - buttons
    23 - assist
    24 - ConfigFree
    25 - zoom utility
    26 PC Diagnostic Tool
    27 CD/DVD Drive Acoustic Silencer
    29 WinDVD Creator
    30 - RecordNow
    31 DLA
    32 - DVD player

Note: for 05 - pilot network to install correctly, I had to upgrade the Device Manager ethernet controller.

The numbers relate to roughly the original installation instructions. I do not pretend that it's the perfect installation, only one who appears to be stable and suitable for my purposes...

With respect to the SD memory card Format driver, I found it somewhere, but I don't remember where (sorry). It has the following file name, even if once extracted (ToshibaSDMemoryCardFormat_v2100A.exe).

Hope this helps and please post your results as it is good to share their experiences.

    Regards, Rob

PS one of the biggest advantage I found was much better video support nVidia for Vista drivers were not very good and assured por.

  • Satellite P100-160 - how to identify HARD drive?

    I have a P100-160 (part number PSPAAE-01D00UEN).
I'm looking for what type of reader is installed? (IDE/SATA, etc.)

    Thank you
    Ian

    Hi ian5184_1,

If you check the specifications of your book, you can check what HARD drive is built in or you have a look in your user manual.

On the first few pages, you will find all the information on the material, and there is a HARD drive with Serial ATA interface built in.

If you think about upgrading the HARD drive, you can buy each 2.5 HARD drive SATA interface. On this interface, there is no limit of capacity. :)

How to connect an adapter or a firewire port? The specifications of my laptop refer to two expansion slots (one for the configuration). Where they are and how to connect a firewire adapter?

    Hey Buddy,

You can buy a PC Express card with firewire ports to connect your firewire devices. Ask your computer dealer preferred for this, they should be able to sell an expansion card.

    For example, I founded it:

  • Satellite P100-188: how to perform the procedure for recovery of the product?

    Hello

I just had a bit of trouble to install a piece of software that, in the end I could settle with a system restore. This process was worried at the time that I could not get the software uninstalled properly (I had to download a program from the machine to uninstall!)

At one point, I considered the restoration of my laptop Satellite P100-188 with the product recovery disc, the thing is I never did this before and I was wondering if someone could tell me the best sequence for later use.

I have a standard Windows Media Center Edition OS, a recovery disk of the product, a disk Express Media Player and a CD of Drivers and tools that I created when I got the laptop.

I have a feeling telling to restore Express Media Player before Windows, is does that mean that I have to insert this disc, install Express Media Player, then insert recovery disk product to install Windows?

The Express Media Player disc formats the drive? It's not clear to me and I don't want to run into problems when I finally don't have to reinstall my operating system.

I searched this forum to see if this information was already posted and could not find all the relevant information, all I can find are problems with the help of recovery and lack of discs discs.

If it has been posted before could you provide me a link and I'm sorry again calls for data.

    Hello Gary

If you want to have own OS preinstalled, the best solution is to use supplied recovery media. If the Express media player works well the leave it as it is and use the recovery DVDs only for clean operating system installation. All that s!

Tools and Utilities CD can be used if you need to reinstall Toshiba designed tools or if you want to install your own operating system by using the facilities of Microsoft CD. If you have any other questions please post again.

    Hey,.

It seems that you have a European model for laptop and so you need to download all the drivers and tools of Toshiba's official website:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com

But it seems that he not there no old version available for your laptop BIOS because you can download the newest one.
You must contact an authorized service provider and ask the guy if you have an older version of BIOS.

But why you want to downgrade it?
