Satellite P100-160: Mono sound when you use MciSendString() calling Winmm.dll

I have a Satellite P100-160.
The sound works well for some programs, Windows Media Player, etc. Audigy.

However when I call for its program using MciSendString() calling Winmm.dll I get only mono sound channel, good times left channel is almost silent. SetAudio volume has no effect.
I've updated the BIOS and the audio driver for the latest versions available on this site.

Does anyone have a solution or pointer to a solution.

Is it really a laptop problem?
Maybe the multimedia function MciSendString() provides only the mono or your have done something wrong?  :|

I don't know what you want to do and why you use the MciSendString() to call Winmm.dll, but if the sound display correctly using current players like Windows Media Player, for example, I really put t see any hardware problem m

    I don t use DBAN and may not give you the right answer, but one thing I must say: create a recovery DVD using the Toshiba recovery disc creator pre-installed and after doing this, you can do whatever you want.

    If a problem occurs, you can install OS using these disks.
    Please note: when you install using Win7 clean recovery of recorded disc image non-Toshiba makes no sense more because you will not be able to start the recovery of HARD drive more. For factory again, you must use Toshiba recovery DVD.

    On my laptop I have Realtek HD Audio Manager also, but there is no option for registration. When the external microphone is connected Manager I see info on Realtek audio devices reloading and the microphone is recognized correctly, but in my opinion this Manager has nothing to do with the record.

    For the record, you need other software. In Vista, you have small tool called recorder of sounds. I tested it on my laptop and the sound will be recorded correctly.
    Can you please test it too?

    Hi, this is my first post on this (or any) forum, so I hope this makes sense.

    Someone else has had problems with missing keys while typing on a satellite p100. Basically, when typing I find that a couple of characters is omitted at random (every 5-6 seconds). This seems to happen with the internal keyboard, I have not noticed anything with my external USB keyboard.

    At first, I thought it was my typing, but if I hold down a key, I can see a visible shift every few seconds. Also if I Alternatively type '1' and '-' get ignored characters evry few keys, like this...

    Looking through the forums, I see similar problems with the M60 but no obvious solution. I don't think that someone came up with something?

    I don't think that the motherboard or a key USB, LAN, etc. is responsible for the problem of keyboard.
    I checked in similar forums on different units and especially a BIOS update solved all the problems of keyboard interrupt.
    You should check the page of the Toshiba driver to the most recent BIOS update. If there is no new version update of the BIOS so I am sure it will be available at a later date.

  • A beep sound when you use the Tablet after closing lid

    I'm having a problem that drives me crazy!  When I cover my laptop closed for awhile in its docking station, or on the battery, when I opened the lid and start using the key pad, the device beeps loud and a bunch of random windows pop up on the screen.  The only way I can fix it is to force the closing down and then restart.  This cannot be good.

    I'm sorry that you use in this issue do beep. I would suggest trying a hard reset as the first, fastest and least invasive stage. This can sometimes fix strange problems because it drains all the electricity unit.

    Steps to a Hard Reset

    Shutdown

    The laptop out of the dock and disconnect all connected devices

    Remove the battery and power cord

    Hold the Power button for 10 seconds

    Replace the battery and power cord in

    Return-turn on the laptop and test to see if the problem has been resolved.

    If you still experience the problem, I also suggest to download the latest version of the BIOS F.20 and the latest Synaptics driver version 15.0.24.

    My laptop has been fixed (new motherboard) and I have some problems playing MP3 files.
    Playback of MP3 by different programs (Windows media, winamp player, etc.). There are some types of 'cracks', the music is not playing fluently as it used to be.
    It seems that there are some difficulties to transfer the data to the player mp3...?
    Although this happens not for watching movies.

    First of al, you check if the new BIOS is available.
    If you use the old version of the BIOS then try to update!

    In addition, you should check your audio driver! If possible update the audio driver too. (do this, but after the BIOS updated!)

    I have a dll called "DLLRTTEST" that I wrote, and claim successfully on my host.  Now, I try to call this dll from a vi that is on my computer in real time.  Currently, I get a message 'error 7 occurred at the crux of library DLLRTTEST.vi. call function' when running

    In the attached screenshot, I try to ensure that the vi that I am running is indeed on the system in real time.  I then use a 'check if file or folder Exists.vi' to confirm that the dll that I'm about to call exists on the system in real time as well.  However, I always get an error "error 7 file not found" from the node call library feature.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks again for all the responses.  As I said earlier, I had already met and solved the problem identified in the link provided by Nathand.  I had to go down to Visual Studio 2008 to go beyond this particular error, after which the app of auditor of the dll in real-time reported my dll needs to run successfully.

    I just got the phone with Jack in charge NEITHER well, and it turns out that I simply had to compile my dll in release mode.  Decommissioning of VS 2008 I got the correct version of dll (msvcr90.dll), but since I am compiling in debug mode, I found myself using msvcr90d.dll (d for debug) who doesn't have my computer in real time.

    Hi all.  I am glad that I found this forum.  In any case, I was FINALLY able to connect to my desktop, Windows XP Pro, using remote desktop, since my laptop Vista Home Premium, but I can't get sound from my desktop for work.  This was the reason why I wanted to log in because my office has an impressive system of 5.1 speakers and we ALL know what kind of sound, a laptop... lol.  I want to be able to play music on the desk while I work on the laptop.     Hello. I have a problem with the sound on my computer. I think that's maybe a bug in Windows 7. Whenever I try to play music or watch a video there is some distorted crackling sounds that come also with audio. I had no such problem in XP or Vista. I have tried everything to solve this problem re-installing the audio drivers switching different and trying different versions of Windows 7 but without success. I have not had any problems with him using Windows 7 beta, but I do now running version 7600. And my lapyop is well capable to run Windows 7 at 2.26 Ghz CPU, 2 GB Ram, 320 MB graphics card - its very fast. Only problem is her.     Hello. I do have the problem fixed - this is if you have a RealTek sound card. You need to contact them about the problem and they should give you a diagnostic tool. Run the tool and the info. Then send it to RealTek. I got good service from them that everything was done in half an hour! They sent me a version updated their driver who was in phase beta but the change Turn Off Mode jumper (if it makes no sense to me) and it works completely fine! I even had new arrivals with him too - special enhancments that can change the height of the audio, karaoke, effects on the environment and Equalizer mode. No crackling or distorted sound.
