Satellite P100-192: sucks my TFT?

Hi @ all.

Seems that my my laptop tft is damaged.
I have a big white block from the top to the bottom middle of the screen.
This white block has no graphical information and can also be seen in the bios.
No graph appears in this box.

See screenshot.

Is there anywhere a test for tft screens?

I'll bring this portable 192 p100 Toshiba next days.

concerning

Hello

This seems to be a hardware problem, but we can imagine what s exactly the problem could be 100%.
But why we should speculate? The P100 seems to be a new series and I m your warranty is valid. To contact the ASP in your country as soon as possible and ask for assistance and handling of the Fryer!
The warranty must cover everything and all replacements must be done for free.

But a hint; you could connect the external monitor to the laptop and could check if the same vertical line will appear on the second monitor.
If the same appear on the external screen I presume that the graphics card is defective. This could be a value case and the entire motherboard must be replaced!
But also a WLan antena behind the screen could have a bad influence on the TFT screen

Good luck and best regards

    Hello

I have following problems with my almost 3 year old Toshiba Satellite P100-192:

In the last few weeks my latop ran very hot when I played games or used another difficult software.

Last week, the computer began to freeze the screen for a while and then the screen turned black and I had to reset. When I start now my laptop screen TOSHIBA and Windows startup screen has some vertical stripes in reds or roses. After starting the Windows retains the turnes black screen and I can't do anything.
When I start Windows mode safed scratches are still there but the system works well.
Now, I have thought that I have a software, the driver or the virus problem and formatted the HARD drive with the TOSHIBA recovery disks. After decomprimating I thought I can install Windows XP, but the black screen is back and it is so impossible to reinstall.

What should I do now? Is my graphics card fault? Why everything worked well in safed mode?

    Please help me!
    Thank you very much!
    David

    Hello!

It's strange, but I think it might be a graphics card problem.
In safe mode without driver will be loaded and this could be the reason why you have this problem only in normal mode.

Also, have you tried an external monitor? Maybe it's a question of s only a LCD internal.
    Check it!

I doubt that it of a virus or something else because you have used the recovery disk and it erases the entire HARD disk.

    Good bye

  • Satellite P100-192: cracking sounds coming from the speaker when you use MSN

Hello, I just bought this laptop p100-192. The speakers seem to mute (especially when there is an incoming message in MSN)
Is anyone know why and a solution to this?

    Hello

I studied in this forum for answers and it seems that the update of the audio driver will solve this problem.
There is an update available (V3.11.0.51) driver that solve this crackling.

But before installing the audio driver updated to at least the BIOS version 2.10 or higher must be installed on the laptop.
Be careful. You must use the good BIOS and the correct procedure to update BIOS!

  • Satellite P100-102 without digital-video output TFT-connection-Port?

    Hello

We do not understand why mobile phones latest, as the Satellite P100-102 would be produced without digital-port connect TFT´s...

On the market-enduser TFTs are popular, but it is not possible to use the digital interface with the portable toshiba. We are not interested in the purchase of laptops from other manufacturers, but our time flee.

Can you give us a tip, then of the next generation Satellites with digital output to connect TFTs will reach the market?

    Best regards
    Sascha

    Hello

Sorry, but I disagree with you.
Toshiba designs laptops that support the digital port (D-video output port)
Check for example the Qosmio of E, F, G series.

  • Bad screen refresh rate shown under Vista - Satellite P100-429

    Hello

I have a Satellite P100-429. There are three weak, I install Windows Vista Ultimate Edition, but now the highest of screen refresh rate is 60 Hz. I tried to download the latest drivers for the graphics card, but this will not work and the computer also says that the monitor is called generic PNP.

Before Vista has a 100 Hz screen refresh rate and monitor had his screen Toshiba TruBrite WXGA + TFT of own name I tried looking for drivers for the monitor but without success, someone can help me pretty please, I get headaches for the low screen refresh rate.

    Hello

Have you installed the right graphics card driver?
Immediately after installation of Vista, the operating system uses Microsoft's own common graphics driver.
If you want to use additional graphics options, you need to install the compatible graphics card driver.

But I want to clarify something. The LCD or TFT screens give excellent quality and resolution at 60 Hz.
the Refresh on TFT rate simply won't say the same thing about monitors CRT.
Response time, brightness of the Image and the contrast of the Image are more important for a TFT or LCD monitor like the refresh rate.

Performance display and the quality isn't worst if it run on 60 Hz
Therefore, I see no reason to change the refresh rate of 100 Hz

  • Re: Satellite P100-160 - is there a Wireless N card?

    Hello

is there a WIFI Wireless N card which you can adapt the P100-160?

    Anyone know?

    Thank you

    Hey,.

I have of course there are a lot of network WIRELESS n draft cards they will be insert in Satellite P100, but I think that you will not be able to use the draft N speed because need you so 3 instead of 2 m antennas.

It s doesn't know only not for me that some Satellite P100 has been bundled with the project so I m sure that 2 antennas are not installed.
With other words, it would be useless if you upgrade project ;) WIRELESS n network adapter

  • Pascal boot from a DVD on my Satellite P100

    Hello

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite P100. I want to boot on a DVD. When the computer starts, the screen goes from black to the Welcome to windows screen, and there is no message that indicates which key to press to access the boot menu. I tried to press F2 or F12, but if I do the screen remains black and that windows won't even start. F1 or F10 or del have no effect. ESC for 5 seconds, either.

A few weeks ago (I did not any changes in bios or anything like that, what I did is updated on windows), I had a white line that says press key (F12), but now this is not more. I don't even have the toshiba logo.

I flashed the BIOS with the latest update, with no result.

Edit: I have new intel: since the problem seems to come from the screen (some keys (F2, F12) 'work' in the sense it does something special, rather than just logging on to windows and this unusual thing they do is to make the screen stay black - as if the screen wasn't turned on yet, but the computer was waiting for a response from the user) I tried to connect my laptop to another screen. I have counfounded the vga cable ends and ends by connecting my laptop to a desktop instead of his screen. The result of this was rather strange: when my laptop is connected to a desktop computer, the laptop screen is lit normally, and I see the toshiba logo and the boot/bios menu shortcuts. Other that taking the power of the display, the connection had obviously no effect: I don't see the content of the desktop on my laptop, I just saw my laptop because I usually do, and it's because the vga port is usually intended to be connected to another screen and not to another computer.

So what do you think about this experience, which is certainly interesting, and you now see what could be my problem and so how to fix?

    Thank you.

PS: If you have more questions/details, please do not hesitate to ask.

    Hello John

To be honest, I wish I had your laptop in front of me and see exactly what is happening.
Is that this message be down occurs when the cell is on a regular basis down. If the laptop wakes mode sleep or hibernation, this message will not appear.

So I m pretty confused with all this and can not understand what is happening exactly.
When the operating system is loaded click please Windows Start button and choose the option closed and don't forget the laptop shut down correctly

After doing this book for beginning and check how it looks like new. Please post comments.

  • Satellite P100-423 - RTC battery replacement

I'm happy enough to replace the CMOS / RTC on Satellite P100-423 battery because the device is out of warranty and the battery needs to be replaced.
Le-423 is a build of Costco and not much found after the mandatory, manual Google and research forum.

Can anyone recommend a type satisfying to do this, no clue on the former.

    Thank you

    Hey,.

Are you sure that the RTC battery is replaceable?
I ask this question because as much as I know it is not possible on all s models and if it is replaceable you can find the specs on the battery itself if you disassemble the laptop.

Normally, this battery can be charged if you leave the AC/DC adapter plugged in for 24 hours. Have you already tried?

  • Satellite P100-307 - massive heat problem, keypad heater

Had my Satellite P100-307 for almost two years now and it's a good and useful media-notebook, but it never HOT side left keyboard, especially games.

But in recent weeks, the keyboard is pretty HOT and I don't know why! Because I6vgt ´m using only low level applications.

I did a full restore to clean any virus or other malware, but it continues to get hot, as if I where in the highest graphics modes, the games, but just I m using IE7 and a LateX editor for the creation of PDF Documents - that s nothing for a dual-core processor! Kaspersky 7.0 has been throtteld down, as far as the security is allwoing it.

So why it s heat like that in 30 to 60 Minutes. He has never done this before, I m sure.

It s so hot, it's quite unpleasant to work with her, because placing even the heel of your hand next to the touchpad makes my hand sweating!

Would be grateful for any comment or advice,

    Greetings
    AFK

Looks like the laptop is overheated, it is a common problem with laptops that are used in a dusty environment (a room with carpet, for example).

Buy compressed air in a box and spray it in the vents to remove dust.

  • Fractures of fatigue on the Satellite P100-423

    Hi all

This is my first post here.
The hinges on my Satellite P100-423 have always been fairly rigid. Thus fractures of stress now appeared on the back of the lid near the hinges.
I bought in Nov/06 and it seems to be now out of warranty.
I would appreciate any advice on what I can do about it or how to get it fixed.

I totally agree with codes for the ASP must replace it and I think that this plastic cover should t be too expensive.

If you n t know how to communicate with ASP, then please check this database:

  • Satellite P100 loses its next update

Satellite P100 V3.30 Sound BiOS: Conexant HD Audio v 4.8.0 Windows Vista 32 bit

Following a Vista Windows Update which contained an update of his Toshiba, all sounds have disappeared from the laptop. I did a system restore to before the update sound, and the sound is back.
Update details: Conexant - Audio - Conexant high definition Smartaudio HD2. (The current sound details: conexant HD audio v 48.0)

The sound went twice already, back after a re - install, although I only made the possible link with the update.

    Please advice!

My advice is: do not touch the well-executed system. I have Satellite P200 and I don't do any driver updated or upgrades. If everything works should well, why I do this?

  • Update on the Satellite P100 (4200 RPM at 5400 RPM) HARD drive

I had my laptop game Satellite P100-347, abandoned for a while now and want to give it to my little brother. This laptops come with 4200 RPM HARD drive and I would like to know if it is upgraded to a 5400 RPM / MIN 320 GB finally fails the system or am good to start!

    Thank you!

Unfortunately, there is no public document on update on this model of laptop HARD drive and I can't say for sure but I believe that there should be any problem. If anyone post here own experience about these updates buy the HARD drive and test it.

If there is a problem, you can send the HARD return drive.
This info can be useful for other members of the forum. Because of this, please post the upgrade result.

  • Satellite P100 - white screen on startup: No. BIOS!

    Hello

I have a Satellite P100-286 (PSPAGE) I bought last year, and due to an unsuccessful attempt to update of the BIOS under Windows Vista, the laptop has more a BIOS. Is there anyway to Flash without sending the laptop somewhere?

    See you soon,.
    Andreas

I doubt it. Once a BIOS is damaged, its cant boot or anything like that, so you can't reflash the BIOS. I guess that the motherboard would need replacement.

  • Audio dropouts on Satellite P100

I have a Toshiba laptop Satellite P100 PSPADE.
    OS: Win XP Professional
Connected equipment: MOTU 828MKII Firewire or Terratec DMX 6Fire USB.
In both situations, audio dropouts occur, using Cubase SX3.
I already disabled some elements in the Manager of hardware devices, such as:
    -Microsoft AC adapter
-Control compliant ACPI Microsoft method battery
    -Network adapters
    -Bluetooth device
    -Sound controller
    - ...
Only the devices battery generated many audio dropouts, which are now reduced by disabeling the drivers.
    Nevertheless, sporadic abandonment occur always.
Although, Terratec, and MOTU audio devices using the maximum buffersize, increasing latency, but reducing the school drop-outs, audio drop outs occur.
Reading a few articles, I came to the feature 'gas CPU"of the Toshiba laptops, which might be responsible for these audio dropouts.
The articles mention that he is a non-configurable feature of Toshiba.
Audio dropouts seem to occure synchronous with the activation of the fan.
To contol the latency, I use "DPC latency Check" program, which generates a bar graph.
The peaks of bar-graph each time that the fan turns on and at the same time, a stall audio is heard.
Is there a solution to the problem of audio dropout?

    Erik

    Hello

There were MANY discussions on this subject, especially with your machine. Many users tried different solutions such as remove things from the device manager like you did already.

In General, editing music with a laptop are not really optimal. For example:

I have a computer of office machine with a Pentium 4 2.8/1 GB RAM/WD Raptor/ESI Juli @ and I also work with Cubase SX3. There is NO problem with the latency (latency DPC latencies around 15-30 microsec Watch).

I tried to make some changes on my Tecra A9 which has a Dual-Core, 2 GB of RAM, a HARD drive with 7200 RPM with XP on it, etc... and at the beginning I had many heavy withdrawals.

But after a search of this forum and a few other sites, Ive created a small tutorial:

    1. services:

For Windows XP: Please visit the following site: http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/winxp.htm
and apply the configuration of services twisted.

For Vista: Go to this site-> http://www.blackviper.com/WinVista/Services/ and see the following:
-Configurations of Viper black Windows Vista SP1 Service-> twisted
    -Super Tweaks

-In addition the client must disbale the service "smart card"!

    2 disable the following devices:

-Compatible control method battery ACPI Microsoft
-Intel ICH8M Ultra ATA Storage Controllers (including the optical disc drive)
    -Ethernet and Wifi
    -Storage-> Microsoft iSCSI initiator controllers
    SD card controller

    3 disable the powermanagement features:

-In 'Device Manager' option to allow the computer to turn off this
all "USB root hubs" should be unchecked
-Create a separate powerplan who can be named 'Maximum' and put EVERYTHING
maximum (disable these features like 'sleep' and 'sleep')

    4. run the application 'msconfig' (internal tool of windows) and remove all the
unneded services and applications in the startup list, which could include
some tools Toshiba as "configfree" "flashcards" etc., but at YOUR OWN RISK!

    5. as you have more network connections, you can also disable all
services such as "Windows Defender", "Windows Firewall", "security policies."
etc. which contains a large number of resources!

    6. I recommend to keep all the drivers including BIOS update. You can use
drivers of Intel on the chipset/storage controller/graphic chipset
which most are more recent so our pilots.

    -> Below only for Vista!
    7. at least, you must disable this thing together graphic Vista as
«Aero, "Windows Sidebar", etc., and switch to the Vista Basic theme.» The window
Manager themes Vista is necessary and a LOT of resources that offers more
resources for applications and results also in a latency time reduced.

    8. check the Web site of the manufacturers on the updates support for the device that is in use! (which means the sound card ;))

    It could be that useful...

    Welcome them
