Satellite P100-197 will not start

My laptop P100 (French) was unable to start for the past fortnight or so now. I get nothing on the LCD screen, no BIOS - nothing. If I listen, I hear two beeps on the motherboard to turn on. Some lights are working, but I get no response from the laptop. Naturally, I can't reinstall Windows because I don't get even for the BIOS loading. I was hoping I could get some help here?

It looks like problems of material for me, but I'd rather have some opinions before I have to pay £20 for someone to say "it does not start. Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Seems that there are problems with the files of GoBack.

Try to boot in safe mode and remove the Norton System works from your laptop ;)
If this does not help, you will need to recover the laptop with the recovery CD Toshiba delivered!

Also I recommend to visit the Symantec support site and to check the solutions to the problem with the Norton System Works programs

  • Satellite A105-S4164 - will not start only white screen

    Hi all
I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A105-S4164 that will not start.

I thought that maybe there is a problem with the battery. I took out the battery and then plugged the laptop to the power outlet, makes no difference. The blue lights in the front of the laptop, lights, but I hear no noise from the motherboard or the fan. The laptop is bought in July 2006 and it is out of warranty.
All I see is a white screen.

My guess is that the motherboard must be replaced. I have also had kept with Symantic anti-virus and windows updates XP before April 1, 2009.

    Thank you for your comments.

You can see an image on an external monitor?

Well, I think that in this case the laptop must be verified by the technician for laptop. You should contact an ASP and ask for help. It would be the best way because the technician can be sure what parts are defective.

  • Re: Satellite L300-1AS will not start

    Hi all

Now my L300 will not start not (windows (Vista).
It shows a blue screen saying that windows has been shut down and to check the installation of new hardware or software.
There is no new hardware or software. He suggested to disable the bios memory options (I don't know how to do this) and suggests to start in safe mode to remove or disable components.

The laptop does NOT start in any mode not to mention safe mode, repair mode that brings back me to the blue screen as described.

I'm supposed to type something in or I am looking at a new hard drive?

Suggestions for a greatly appreciated numpty (outside to let computers alone numpty you of course!)

    Thanks

    Hello

Yes, the recovery disc's one disc it s DVD ;)

    Return to be issued;
I think that it s material related since the recovery disk should work for sure.
The blinking cursor can be related to a faulty memory or HARD drive.
    Both should be checked.

You could remove a memory module and might try to power the device using a single memory module in a slot.
Of course, the best would be a use of two new modules

The HARD drive can be checked using a tool called Drive Fitness Test (it of free use google to find it)

I tried after turning on the computer, press F8, but all the option in this menu do NOT fix the problem.
I have no CV/DVD to my computer.
After the first time I don't burn DVD with backup.

I have really now how can I install system with recovery patriction. What softwere I need and how do I do it?

    Thanks for help

    Hello

Sat A300 and other new models of laptops are equipped with HARD drive recovery option. This HARD drive recovery should allow you to recover the laptop without the use of all disks.
In order to start the procedure for HARD drive recovery, you need to press F8. Then choose the first option called fix my computer. Then new window pops up and there you have to choose Toshiba HDD recovery. All that s.

But if this procedure don't work (no matter why) then you will need to use the Toshiba recovery disc. If you n t create a floppy disk for recovery of a hand and the laptop will not start, then you will have to buy a drive for recovery of this page:

  • Satellite Pro L300 will not start

I have a portable Satellite Pro L300 and he won't start (in other words the power button and not going not past the first screen).

Works for keyboard, but F2, F8 or F12 will not do anything, I can't here the disk hard powerup but it's like no one is at home. I don't know if it's the motherboard or the onboard battery. The computer is about 7-8 years

    Can anyone help.

It s certainly nothing wrong with a RTC battery (as you said internal battery).
The RTC battery can be charged. The unit must be turned on and adapter must be connected at least for about 18 hours.
But I guess that this isn't a problem.

The laptop does not start because of a hardware malfunction, but it's hard to say what role may be affected. But you should absolutely consult the RAM modules.
This should be the first step, since the RAM modules are easy to replace.

All other parts should be checked by the type of service.

  • Satellite P100 PSPA3A does not start

My son P100 (model no PSPA3A - 17E00P) does not start when you press the START key. I tried to start with and without the battery, but all that happens is the operation turns upward (as do the lights of Harmon/Kardon speakers) for a second, but no fans, disks or such beginning at the same time. THE HARD drive light is not going on either.

    Clues?

This could be due to many things.

Try reinstalling the RAM or different combinations of RAM.
Then remove the battery and AC power for a few minutes and plug it back in that hide them.
If all else fails, it may be a faulty motherboard or video card or cpu.

    Hello Morta

If the unit is connected to the power supply and if there is no response after pressing power button must be some hardware malfunction. Press the power button and hold down for a few seconds. I put t know how old is your device but it is possible that the warranty is still valid. Please contact the customer Service of your country partner and let check the device. The warranty will cover the costs.

Please help me all you Toshiba Laptop Guru.

While installing a software on my laptop, the power failed / crashed and now the laptop will not boot to the top. What happens is that the initial company Toshiba screen then clicks directly to "Insert system disk in drive" and the message "press a key when you are ready. But when I do that nothing happens outside the player from CD then stop and no re - start. I tried the but key to the bios with the same results. Can someone help me please, or the laptop is it.

    Hello

If you want to remove the BIOS password, so you should always contact the Toshiba service partner to do it. The withdrawal of support of battery doesn t. This may damage the motherboard. Please note that the procedure that runs on the desktop computer is not the same as Notepad.
Usually if you want to get into the BIOS you use the ESC key immediately after the restart of the unit

  • Re: Satellite M70-364 will not start

Hi I have a satellite phone and it does not start. When I press the power button, I get the Toshiba sign, then a white screen. A few seconds later, it goes back to the toshiba screen. I tried another hard drive, but it is always the same. I can enter the bios and checked that it is set to boot from the hard drive and nothing else. But that left me speechless as to what could be the cause of the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

You have a live Windows Cd to try to boot from it?

    > get the sign Toshiba and then a white screen. A few seconds later, it goes back to the toshiba screen. I tried another hard drive
    > but it's always the same thing.

Makes me think it's motherboard (southbridge) failure. In this case, the entire motherboard must be replaced. Get the live Cd of Windows disc to check

  • Satellite Pro L500 will not start on battery only

    Hello!

I recently bought a Satellite Pro L500 and have the following problems.
My laptop does not start on battery only. The Green led comes on and stays with the laptop in a gel (nothing appears on the screen).
The only way to get this light off is to remove the battery.

Starts EVERY time with AC power connected (with or without battery)-normal lights are displayed when connected.
Works quite normal, once started - with or without power connected

SOMETIMES starts with the battery only if I boot in a short time after I've used the laptop
I tried the static release process but does not work. (hold button power supply without battery or power supply connected etc..)

After having this problem, I've updated to the latest version of the BIOS but nothing helped
Tried a different battery and did not help
    Is a Toshiba Satellite PRO L500 T4400 4GB 15 "laptop Win7 - only 3 weeks or so old

    Very annoying!
    Please anyone with a solution?

    Hello

    Try this.
Remove the battery, disconnect the adapter and then wait a while. I would like to leave it disconnected for about 12 hours.
Together the two parties again, charge the battery and then remove the power adapter.
Then try to turn on the unit using only the battery.

If that does not help, then you should get in touch with your ASP as fast as possible since the guarantee is valid and would cover all the checks of the equipment and replacements.

  • Satellite P300D-110 will not start up normally

My P300 - 100 d will not be running normally.

It crashes after the ad that Windows is starting.
Firstly I have to boot in safe mode, and if I'm lucky it will start normal after choosing "restart".

The strange thing is that this problem appears only after that the laptop has been stop for awhile.
If I start shortly after a stop, there seems to be no problem. I use Windows Vista Home Premium SP1.

Someone at - it an idea?

    TNX in advance!

    It is a strange question.

Did you look in the event viewer? Maybe you can see something on this issue.

In addition, I would like to make a BIOS update.

Sorry that I can't give you more advise, but in his case, it is not easy to say what the problem is.

  • Re: Satellite P300-160 - will not start

Someone at - it ideas as to why my laptop won't start, only happens to logo page and that's it... will not recognize the boot disk now either...!
Or is this a case of consider somewhere and shoot...

I think the computer freezes on the screen of the logo (Toshiba?) because a device is not recognized correctly.

So in your case, I would like to remove the CD/DVD and HARD disk drive. One of them is maybe defective and t can be recognized.
In addition, you can go into the BIOS?

Have you plugged into the laptop like a mouse external keyboard and printer peripheral external? If so, remove them.

  • Satellite P205-S6287 will not start.

I've had my laptop since late February 2008 and I bought it new. I put it down like I always do until I fall asleep and it worked perfectly before doing so.

I woke up this morning and I tried to turn it on and it wouldn't and restart. The Startup Repair tool returns unsuccessful, as well as the restoration of the system. He will say it was a success, then reboot and does not illuminate. He did something similar a month; I had it turned on to find that it has been restored back to factory settings. System Restore worked perfectly for this and I have not had similar problems to date.

Is that what I can do to try to fix this problem without taking it anywhere? I don't really have money to take it anywhere right now and I am in desperate need of my laptop. Thank you.

Sorry, buddy, but I'm a little confused. The laptop does not start, but you did the system restore. How to understand this?
What happen exactly when you press the power button / stop?

Did you do system restore in safe mode or what?
You can start your laptop with AC only (removed battery) power?
