Satellite P100-275: how to start Express Media Player

I have a computer laptop P 100-275. I'm looking for the Express Media Player. But I can, t find. Only the windows media player.
I, ve used the recovery cd. But I can, t find it yet. Who can help me?
Operafreak

The Express Media Player is on a single CD or DVD.
The laptop should be given with the Toshiba Recovery CD and the cd of Express Media Player.

Express media player was preinstalled on your laptop. But to start the Express media player, the laptop must be closed down.

Did you check your user manual how to use the Express media player?
I think you didn't read it. You just picked up the phone again and recovering delete media Express since the HARD disk player.

  • Satellite U205-S5002: cannot retrieve the Express Media Player after upgrading the HARD drive

So I bought just a new Toshiba Satellite U205-S5002 I love it. One of the great features that interest me was the Express Media Player feature.

My first step was to upgrade the hard disk and 160 GB and 2 GB ram.
I placed the disk and ram in my old laptop and sold it.

Before that I did, I made a copy ghosts and ghost of the hard drive to the new drive. Well come to find out...

Toshiba is not provided with this software preinstalled, so I followed the instructions to burn my recovery disk Express Media Player and the boot on the new disk.
So this is where the saga begins...

After 15-20 seconds, I get a soothing blue screen (NOT of blue BSOD you mind) who says:

    /!\
An error occurred during the recovery of "Express Media Player".
    -------------------------------------------------------
Please pick up the image again from the beginning.
    Press any key to exit.

It is typed exactly as it is on the screen. So, I see some other forums saying: you must have the free space of the disk so I resize the partition that allows 200 MB of space. Always the same... then try 2 GB even... then the 50 GB, same problem...

OK, so obviously not a question of space. I read while I might need to erase the drive... so I delete the partition, this same error... then I run the recovery disk and tell him to wipe the drive, wait 1 1/2 hour, it ends. No dice! So I decide... ok... Well lets try another disk... I have restored my ghost image... and burned the image again... same question... so I decide to the recovery disk and I'll try to reinstall windows in the factory and make a record...

Well, it does not work as well as you think... the image is incomplete... windows works fine... but the c:\Toshiba\ExpressMediaPlayer folder is empty!

I'm happy that I have ghosts my original directory. But I decide allows to Express Media Player a shot more now that I have restored to factory... always the same error... I then decide a trial more... I'll erase drive 1.5 hours, I'll restore from toshiba dvd provided but leaving plenty of space at the end 2 GB (I have a lot about people who tell you to base just around 200 MB)

5 hours later... moment of truth... Well Yes you guessed it... I don't know anything else to try... I have a bad image?
You need one that I can download what has worked for them for sure? Or have - I have completely found myself by replacing the HDD with after market and which is originally a kind of compatibility issue?

    Thank you in advance.

    Hello

    It s a great story!
I put t know how to start so maybe first some info on the Express media player.

As you said, and has already proposed the Express media player has been preinstalled on the second partition.
If you want to install this media Express on the HARD disk drive, 150-200 MB of free space must be available. This free space must be on the end of the HARD drive and there must be unallocated.
To get these free space on the HARD disk, 3 third-party products should be used as for example the Partitions Magic 8!

I'm not going to write a story how to recover the Express media player because Toshiba has already created useful documents, which described complete installation!
I found these documents in the knowledge base of computer Toshiba:

  • Satellite M60-170: Question on partition Express Media Player

    Hello

I want to install Linux on a Satellite M60-170 (thus transforming part of NTFS partitions in other systems of files) without erasing/reformatting the Partition of Express built-in Media Player.

I don't see 2 Partitions using Partition Magic 8, predefined Microsoft (NTFS) 37 GB each on the hard drive of 80 GB.
I read on the forum that the Express Media Player is a T88 204 MB partition system.
How to see where this partition is located or do you know where it should be?

(Partition Magic reported an error right after the end of the 1st partition, sector 7815624; the 2nd NTFS(1st extended) begins at the 78156288 sector: I expect that the Express media Player is a 2nd primary partition located between 2 NTFS partitions, but I would be sure.)

    Thank you in advance,

    Hello

I m not 100% sure, but I think that the Media Express hidden partition is placed at the end of the hard drive.
I found information that the disk HARD should at least 150-200 MB of free space must be available.
This free space must be on the end of the HARD drive and there must be unallocated.
To get these free places on party products 3rd HARD drive must be used.

  • How to get "Express media player?

Hey how are you doing guys, I think a have a problem here. Last night, I reinstalled the operating system, and obviously, I deleted all because the format and I do not have a CD with the software express media and or have a back on the pc because as I said before, I formatted my pc.

Please I need help. If anyone knows where I could download a copy of this software, let me know quickly.

    Hi Drew

Express media player cannot be downloaded. This software is given as recovery CD when you buy new laptops. It's Linux-based application on and must be preinstalled on a partition unallocated.

If possible, try to contact the partner of service authorized in your country. I'm sure they can order one for you.

  • Satellite P100-387: how reintall Windows XP Media Center Edition

    Hello

I work with P100-387. Today, I realized, that there is a problem with the new upgrades for windows and update for Office 2007. I'm not able to open Word. Excel is workin, Power Point also. Opening remarks, the remains of screen splash long (about 3-4 minutes), the menu is being loaded, but when I try to click on something... does not.
I tried to delete some KB, but nothing helped. I have downloade also all the updates for Office 2007 - still does not.

If the last option is to reinstall Windows. Please tell me how to do?

I tried using the recovery disk, but I scare: there is that my HARD drive will be formatted in a single partition of message (for the time being, I have 4, and I want to do all the time with all the data). My goal is to format only C: (the system) and install the fresh news or Windows XP MCE.

Please give a solution, how to solve this problem.

    Best regards

    > I tried using the recovery disk, but I scare: there is that my HARD drive will be formatted in a single partition of message

Well generally it of true the recovery CD would be to format the whole HARD drive and erase all partitions and set the laptop to factory settings.

But the question is; what recovery CD Toshiba do you have? I presume that it is the new version of the recovery CD because the laptop Satellite P100-387 is not very old.

You can choose between the Standard recovery mode and Expert mode?
Using the expert mode you should be able to choose the partition where the operating system would be installed.

But if it is not able to choose between these two recovery modes, then I guess you have the new recovery called RECO CD and there is no other choice than to format the whole HARD drive. In this case, the backup of the data would be desirable

Of course, you can use the original CD of Microsoft. Using this CD, you will be able to install the OS on the single partition without format the whole HARD disk.

    Best regards

  • Express Media Player starts automatically when the Satellite M45 is disabled

After two years of trouble without using my Satellite M45 from acting weird.

Occasionally, when it is turned off or in hibernation the Express Media Player will begin; This can occur immediately after hibernation or in the middle of the night even if it is passed by closing down.

No disc is in the drive and it's right there waiting for a disc to be inserted. It may not even start with the Detective Conan.

Sometimes, often, and I have to unplug the power and remove the battery in order to get some sleep. Is there a simple solution or there at - there a way to uninstall the Express Media Player?

    Hello

Throughout history, there is a confusing thing. Express Media Player starts when the OS is shutdown properly. This means that the Express media player cannot start after the hibernation mode. This player is not part of the operating system and runs separately.

Because of this, it will be interesting to know which application starts. East - Media Express Player or Windows Media Player?

In any case, I believe that each of them can be started after pressing media placed next to the switch buttons. There may be a problem with it.

  • Satellite M70: How to get the Express Media Player feature?

I M70, but I formatted it once I bought it. Now, you could tell me how to recover the function of Express Media Player? There is no setup.exe file in the Express Media Player recovery CD.

    Thank you

    Hello Weimin

In order to use the media functions Express the Mediaplayer Express Recovery CD must be performed before performing the recovery from the recovery DVD-ROM products.
You can't run Express Media player after performing a recovery.

Should at least 150-200 MB of available free space on the HARD drive.
This free space must be on the end of the HARD drive and there must be unallocated.
To start the installation, you must boot from the recovery Express Mediaplayer CD

  • Satellite P100 - after reinstallation, I don't have the express media player

I just reinstalled my laptop. Windows XP. All right. But the express Media Player software was not on the disk to repair!

Do I need other software to reintall disc, or I can download somewhere? Or just the seller does not give this cd when I boght the laptop?

So, how can I find the Express media player?
    SB:

    Hello!

As said sanremo express media player is not in the recovery disc included. You must download.
By the way I use VideoLAN to play my audio and video files. It s freeware, small and fairly easy to use. Try it.

On the Toshiba site, you can search an ASP:

  • Satellite Pro M70-273: feature of the Express Media Player feature

Two weeks ago, I bought a Pro Satellite Toshiba M70-273 'Limited Edition' (?). The model number is PSM76E-00J00QDU, SPM76, model name, production date 2006-02-21. According to the specs I found in the online user manual or in a folder with the publication references
    «TEG October 2005, art.» N0. DSSSPM70 10/05NLBE', there is a 'Express media feature' 'on some selected models "...

It is not clear if yes or no, the model that I bought it. I have an of CD/DVD "button that I use to run my built-in dvd player (WinDVD for example), but it does not work as it appears as 'a disc standalone player' who plays a dvd (movie) without the need of Windows startup.

To watch the movie on dvd, after using the CD/DVD button, I start in Windows, the connection in Windows XP, and the office at startup, the WinDVD screen presents the film.

This isn't what I expect from a stand-alone dvd player. My old laptop has a 'dj function' with which you can play a cd without booting in Windows (or turning on the laptop), simply by pressing a special button on the front. What about the promised feature of the Toshiba Satellite Pro?

Is there a feature "Express Media Player" at all? How can I check if the function is provided? I used the provided configuration, the first time I used my laptop. I don't want to use the recovery CD provided unless it would be absolutely necessary to install this missing functionality.

    Hello

Yes. Some Toshiba models use a player Qosmio (Qosmio units) and some computers laptop Toshiba supports also the Media Express Player.

I downloaded the user manual of the Satellite Pro M70 and it seems that some laptop computers in this series come with the express media player. But unfortunately the Media Express drive was not installed and delivered with this laptop.
See Chapter 4 of the manual

  • Express media player works only on P100-213

In my satellite p100-213 MediaPlayer express does not work correctly. I have a lot of pixels on the screen and when I run the audio cd, it does not work. I reinstalled the express media player, but it still does not go. Any idea? Thx for all.

    Hello

I guess the express Media Player worked properly, but you should know that this drive doesn't support them all!
Moreover, it's not the media player express if the film has a lot of pixels or not.
It depends on the film format. However, I imagine that you don t have correctly installed the express media player.
Check out this forum how to install and manage the express media player. In this forum, you will find many useful comments.

I also found this Toshiba Info page:
    http://support.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB6401G5000HR01.htm

So, now everything should be clear.

    Hello

Is this original delivered by car or did you upgrade?
By the way: as far as I know if you use the original recovery with original configuration hardware delivered media, everything should work well. If you change something about yourself, it is possible that something is wrong. Usually, for DVD player, it is not necessary to install a special driver and because of that, I'm a little confused why this message occurs at the beginning upward.

Please give us more info on this drive.

    Hello

I guess I have a problem with the express media player on my satellite m60-170.

    Hello

Please, go to the control panel and choose the application of controls of Toshiba.
On the first page, you have two options: CD/DVD and internet buttons.
Click on the CD/DVD button and select the CD/DVD
In the media applications tab, you can try to choose the express media player.

Note: Make sure that the express Media Player has been correctly installed on your laptop.

  • Satellite A100 series - Express media player does not turn off!

I had to restart my laptop after completing the update of windows, and after rebooting, it does not start in Windows, but for Express Media Player instead. The drive will turn off little matter what I do so I press on and press and hold the power button until the laptop turns off.

But when I turn it on again, the player is still there! Can someone tell me how can I turn the thing please?

    Hello

Express media player is installed on a different partition.
I guess your laptop try to boot from this partition first, and that's why the Express media player starts instead of your installed operating system.

Your operating system must be installed on the first partition and the Express media player must be installed on the last partition.

In disk management, you can check your partitions created on the HARD drive

    Please check this!
