Satellite P100-387: are what compatible GPU

Can someone answer my question, pls, is it compatible with any GPU with the toshiba p100-387 out of NVidia 7600 go?
I'll be really grateful if someone told me the answer =)

Unfortunately buddy
The replacement of the GPU or the upgrade is not possible if something goes wrong with the graphics card, then the whole motherboard must be replaced.
In most cases, the GPU is soldered on the motherboard and cannot be deleted.

See you soon

    Hello

I work with P100-387. Today, I realized, that there is a problem with the new upgrades for windows and update for Office 2007. I'm not able to open Word. Excel is workin, Power Point also. Opening remarks, the remains of screen splash long (about 3-4 minutes), the menu is being loaded, but when I try to click on something... does not.
I tried to delete some KB, but nothing helped. I have downloade also all the updates for Office 2007 - still does not.

If the last option is to reinstall Windows. Please tell me how to do?

I tried using the recovery disk, but I scare: there is that my HARD drive will be formatted in a single partition of message (for the time being, I have 4, and I want to do all the time with all the data). My goal is to format only C: (the system) and install the fresh news or Windows XP MCE.

Please give a solution, how to solve this problem.

    Best regards

    > I tried using the recovery disk, but I scare: there is that my HARD drive will be formatted in a single partition of message

Well generally it of true the recovery CD would be to format the whole HARD drive and erase all partitions and set the laptop to factory settings.

But the question is; what recovery CD Toshiba do you have? I presume that it is the new version of the recovery CD because the laptop Satellite P100-387 is not very old.

You can choose between the Standard recovery mode and Expert mode?
Using the expert mode you should be able to choose the partition where the operating system would be installed.

But if it is not able to choose between these two recovery modes, then I guess you have the new recovery called RECO CD and there is no other choice than to format the whole HARD drive. In this case, the backup of the data would be desirable

Of course, you can use the original CD of Microsoft. Using this CD, you will be able to install the OS on the single partition without format the whole HARD disk.

    Best regards

I don t understand Russian and in this forum you can post ONLY in English! So please respect it!

  • Fingerprints and the remote control supported on Satellite P100-387

P100-387 has a fingerprint and the remote? Please, someone answer me.
    Thank you.

    Hello

To my knowledge, the Satellite P100-387 does not support the fingerprint reader and is not supplied with the remote control.
    But you're right.
The fingerprints and the remote control are optional and some laptops in the P100 series support fingerprint reader and are delivered with command remotely.

  • Satellite P100 - 387 CPU fan works like crazy

    Hi all
I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite P100-387. I bought it with 2 friends. The same model.

The problem exists only in 2 of the 3 laptops. It looks like this. When I start the machine everything is ok. While windows starts cpu cooler (or video card cooler if it exists) starts to work. If the fan starts to work the low speed at the highest. And did it for 5 - 10 times. Then a few minutes break and again. It's really noisy. It seems that when you insert a CD or a DVD.

It goes like this also when windows is started. No high consumption of CPU, the fan works like crazy. Start at full speed for 2-3 seconds, then for 1 second and still the same.

Everyone has the same 'characteristic '?

    Hello

    What do you do?
You want to install applications on the hidden partition or what?
Why did you hide the partition?

I use also the 8 and I must say that it s a fantastic program.
    I divided my HARD drive into 3 partitions C, D, E
On C, I have installed Windows operating system and all applications like MS Office for example.

On the partition D and E, I placed all the documents, files, images, etc.
As you can see, the programs are installed on the same partition as the operating system Win and I didn't hide all partitions.

    It works very well

  • Squeak inside the Satellite P100-387

I updated the BIOS in my laptop P100-387, to version 3.30 (from probably 2.20). After that, I hear a silent scream, especially on the left side of the laptop. The intensity of squeak has changed when I run glxgear (in linux with opengl support) and resize the window. The grinding is not audible when the window is maximized.

This happens on windows and linux. The State of the battery makes a difference.

I would like to know if there is a Posibility to damage the material. Also, I would like to know if you plan to perform another a BIOS update. If this isn't the case, then where can I find the original version of the BIOS (I forgot to backup)?

I don't want to send my laptop in the service of the technique, because I can't stay without a computer for 1 month or more.

    Hi Peter

At first, I just want to say that if you write these questions to Toshiba, you're on the wrong place here. This is a user forum and no place where you can talk directly with Toshiba.

It is not easy to discuss some strange noises because here on the forum, no one can imagine how it sounds and the best solution is to contact the service and deal with this issue. Of course there is possibility of damaging the material, but here on the forum person cannot confirm with certainty.

One last thing on BIOS. There is just the latest version of the BIOS available on download from Toshiba site, and you will not be able to find an old. Speak with the service. They can help you and maybe all this ca be repaired in a few days. Please do not panic, make a call!

    Hello

I just installed Windows 7 rtm x 86 and I can't install the graphics driver (7900 gs)... Anyone knows of some that are compatible?
PS - I tried to install in compatibility mode, but did nothing...
    (Sry for my bad English...)

    Thank you

    Hello

Do you have which driver already tried to install?
Normally, most Vista drivers are also work on Windows 7. Then you can try the Vista driver on the Toshiba site.

If it doesn't work, you might get a nVidia Driver directly. But be careful with these drivers. They are not pre-tested and don t have protection against overheating. You could damage the graphics card.

  • New BIOS for Satellite P100 3.30: what has changed?

  • Incorrect BIOS password - Satellite P100-387

Under windows I put the password user and supervisor. When I try to turn on the laptop once again trying to get the password but BIOS is incorrect.

Are you sure that you have not mixed letters or signs to 100%?
Unfortunately, if the BIOS password is for you, it of not possible to remove it.
Only the service partner can remove the BIOS password.

I see no other solution ask the technician for the removal of the password...

PS: Anyone here in the forum suggested that something like that could happen if the old BIOS is installed on the laptop.
So to avoid this problem after the password remove the update of the BIOS to version 2.40 or higher is necessary and the update of the Toshiba Utility version 1.8.14.2 or higher is important.

    Hi mate

First, you will need to update the BIOS to the current state.
To do this, see European driver of Toshiba.

    Then update the WLan driver;
Here you can find the latest version:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

I recommend also using a tool like Intel ProSet WLan configuration for example.
Rest your WLan router and check if the WiFi network is not hidden.
Delete all settings of encryption, but only for the test!

Activate the WLan using FN + F8 and use that locates the switch next to the laptop.

If the test is successful, then you can activate the security on the router WLan

I installed 4 GB of RAM (2x2gb) on my laptop. After that, I see in the BIOS (version 4.40) 4 GB, but 32 bit of openSUSE 11.1 OS I see only 3 GB. I know that 32 bit OS does not support the 4 GB of RAM.

I try to boot from openSUSE 11.1 x86_64 live CD and can see only 3 GB of RAM.

How can I see full 4 GB of RAM?

And what is shown in the BIOS? Total amount of 4 GB?
