Satellite P100 - no sound after sleep or hibernate on Windows 7 mode

Hello everyone,

I'm desperately looking for a solution for my sound problem on my PC after browsing many forums that were talking about the same question, but without effective solutions either.

I write this message because I have a laptop Toshiba P100-488 running under Windows 7 64-bit (after having upgraded the processor) and that uses a Conexant CX20549 audio chip.

Everything works correctly, and if the sound is chip with a 64-bit of Windows 7 installed driver but I noticed that after the return of fashion sleep or hibernation, then audio device is still recognized in the Device Manager and shown as active in the control panel and in the taskbar but unfortunately No sound out of speakers.

I tried several drivers (including those from Dell and HP on some sites) but still the same problem.
Also, I tried to update the driver from Windows Update that suggested the Conexant SmartAudio HD2 but the same behavior.

Those of you who would have a solution for me or perhaps a driver concerned that could solve this annoying problem is question here?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards

Fred

  • Satellite P100-442 - sound after Vista update problem

    Vista Home Premium operating system.

Since "Vista Update" installed a pilot of its new "Conexant high definition SmartAudio HD2", the sound does not work.

But I do whenever I have start the laptop.
Should I first remove this driver (and how?) and to install the driver on the Toshiba site?

Try to restore to an earlier time using System Restore option.

I have a Satellite P100-160 running Windows 7 32 bit. At the beginning the sound works normally, but after a period in mode 'sleep' there is no sound - all the indicators show the green bars on the rise and fall as if working normally.

If restarting the laptop the sound back up to an additional period in mode "Eve". There is also no sound through headphones if plugged. I uninstalled the driver and allowed the computer to automatically download the latest driver.

I'm on Vista Home Premium using a Satellite P100 PSPAAE. My sound doesn't work anymore, I think after an automatic update.

I downloaded and installed the latest driver from Toshiba support but no joy, and make site back does not set it.

MS load an older version, when I have auto update.

Which driver should I I have installed cause I'm totally confused now. Is there a trick to install?

I wouldn't mud autour trying to find the right software. Instead of buying everything and tell them that the sound has stopped working. They will fix it for you.

I went through it and it turned out to be my hard drive. Could be a different default for you, but of course it took the sadness on me when I arrived at the place to fix it for me.

    Hello
You can download a lot of drivers Vista for TOSHIBA Canada support i.e. page

After installing display driver Vista is stable and fast even in Word of Warcraft.

There is always a small problem. Canadian HD Audio drivers do not work. Original XP driver allows sound but DVD on WMP11 playback, or play WoW does choke system. Uninstalling the drivers for HD Audio done system and DVD run smoother, but there is no sound. 'Funny', it's that play the same DVD with sound with WMC does no problem.

Someone knows what to do to properly install HD Audio drivers? To have sound and not smothering system?

Some of the portable Satellite P100 supports his Intel chip Conexant CX20551-22.
I recommend to visit the Intel Web site and install the latest chipset and drivers!

  • Satellite P100-119 - software after the installation of recovery

I use a Toshiba Satellite P100-119 since 2006. I want to run the original liveries Product Recovery CD after you back up all my data, so that with a vacuum system, the laptop gets even faster.

But as there were pre-installed software (office, Toshiba programms) when I bought it, I don't know if they went after the recovery. I do not have CD for these programs, they were just pre-installed and what my Windows xp, should recover fully with the cd?

    Hey Buddy,

After the installation of recovery, you have the same settings that bought the laptop. With other words recovery disk will restore the box settings.

Firstly the recovery disk will wipe the entire HARD drive and remove all. After this Windows will be installed all the drivers and tools. In addition, will be also installed software preinstalled such as office, etc. and you can use it again. :)

Backup all important data like the photo, music, etc. but everything will be removed for a clean install of Windows.

    Hello

Hmmm what to say. Sounds not good and in my opinion, looks like you have successfully updated the laptop computer with a bad BIOS or something went wrong during the BIOS update process
Are you sure you used the right BIOS of 110%?

It seems that you will not be able to fix this problem yourself, without any additional help from the laptop technician.
In most cases, the BIOS has to be flashed again on the particular way

For me it s clear, you will need to contact the ASP to get rid of this problem

    Hello

I have goggled a bit on the net for more help and I was surprised that many Windows users have had the same problem
So I thought that there must be something wrong with the windows operating system generally.
I studied a bit in the MS knowledge base and found this:

According to the news of MS this problem may occur when you have Microsoft Office installed and trying to the Agent Windows Update find updates for Windows Installer.

  • HP G60 laptop: black screen after sleep or hibernate Windows10

Since upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10, the laptop displays a black screen after the sleep or hibernate modes.  The system seems to be commissioning (HDD, fan action), but no video.  The system boots normally cold trouble-free starting.  Never, there is this problem with Windows 7.

    Hi @Bobby876,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your HP G60 laptop and problems with the mode "sleep" after the update to Windows 10. I recommend to restore the default BIOS settings. You could restore the BIOS with this document by selecting the reload the default BIOS settings. In this way, it will look at the hardware installed on your laptop.

    You can try:

In Device Manager, click the arrow

next to display adapters to expand this category
Right-click on the graph, and then select Update driver software if more than 1 graphic adapter do 1 at a time.
Select search automatically for updated driver software.

The laptop must find and automatically install the updated driver
Once the installation is complete, restart your laptop.

You can try to use the Windows Update Troubleshooter to fix updates that do not come through Windows 10.  Please restart the laptop twice to make sure that all updates are completed!

Please let me know how it goes.

    Thank you.

  • WiFi very slow to reconnect after sleep or Hibernate (or even at all)

Hello everyone, I have seen similar topics on this topic before, but none of the solutions have worked for me. I am unable to connect to any WiFi after my return to laptop computer to a low power mode (sleep or Hibernate) for sometimes the lengths of time up to 2 minutes. Either an orange star/circle shape appears in the on the icons wireless system tray saying network connections are available, or the icons of progress of rotation turns constantly and never connects. If I want to restore the network connection, I have to restart my computer, or disable and reactivate the NIC (Intel WiFi Link 5300AGN) wireless.

Things, I tried to fix the problem:

    • Uncheck the box "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" under power management in the wireless adapter, properties of the device AND hub USB root
    • Change my power Plan to High Performance and set the parameters for the adapter wireless for 'Maximum Performance '.
    • Turn the empty screen saver on and off turning off the display (recommended on a forum I found)
    • Uninstall Virtualbox (suggested on another forum I found)
    • And I tried all the drivers I could find for my card without result

If it helps any, I am running Windows 7 Home Premium on my Dell Stdio XPS 1645.

My guess is that even if the wireless card is said (in addition to one!) not to turn off or sleep, she does it anyway. Is there another solution I'm missing somewhere?

I've had this problem for months now, it becomes more frustrating. I would really like to avoid putting fresh with a new installation of Windows... Any suggestions?

    Thank you!

    Hello

Very nice work to try to turn it on.

    -------------------------------

    A general comment .

We all have a general problem. There are several 3rd party applications installed and used the insert themselves in the Windows network components, some of them also modify the default configuration. Most of these applications is not thoroughly test. They are tested to work, but usually it's on a certain simple standard system. He has not tested, and take into account hundreds of iteration of network configurations of end users with a wide variety of material and other related network applications.

These applications include 3rd-party security costumes, managers of networks, 3rd part of the network of assistants, virtual applications, users to play with the settings found on the Internet with limited info on what they actually do, and many others.

To complicate the problem, some of these applications load at startup process and interfere with the network, even if the application is disabled, or and uninstalled.

I found rather known 3rd party networked application that allows to leave about 100 entries in the registry and a Undelete-able desktop the icon, after that it is uninstalled.

As long as it is sad, because sometimes it is the only functional solution is re - install the operating system on board back to the standard State.

    -------------------------

Regarding energy saving, there could be more settings.

Look at the BIOS of the laptop too, some of them have on-board hardware system.

Also look at the start and the process to ensure that there is no use of 3rd party involved in managing WIFI.

    This can help to discover.

  • Satellite P100-188 starts after the upgrade of the wireless network card

I recenty installed a new Intel 5100 Series 512AN_MWW Mini PCI NIC in my Satellite P100 - 188 PSPA3E database.
However, when it is installed, he refused to view and start.

I'm sure (read the technical info) that these cards use the same interface.
    So why it won't work?
Is an update of the BIOS to enable a feature. If so, could someone kludge one together please?

I have the latest version of the BIOS installed 4.70 and am running Windows Vista.

    Hello

If I understand your message you have improved the Interior card WLan Intel (Golan) Intel 3945ABG 802. 11a / g to Intel 5100 with project support.

Boyfriend although it seems that you can't use the WLan draft N card in this laptop model.
Seems such card is not compatible and cause interference.

As I know the Draft N need of 3-wire antenna the antenna Satellite P100-188 supports 2 wires only and can be used with the 802.11 A, B or G standard.

When the S/PDIF cable is removed the internal speakers make noise for a fraction of a second, then silence.
